My Mum went in for a weeks respite for the very first time at the end of March. This was an anxious time for us both however Nicky and all the lovely carers took great care of Mum. Mum even made new friends which was great for her. Unfortunately had to fund this myself due to an administrative issue
which is being sorted however it was worth every penny as I was recommended and knew she would be very safe and looked after which she was. Mum will definitely be coming back and I would like to thank all involved for making her stay very easy and for the care given.

Mum went into the care home at the end of January. All the staff are very caring towards mum. It always seems clean and tidy, and all meals are cooked on site. They meet all of Mum's requirements. Mum cannot do anything for herself at the moment.

I was astonished by the high quality of your property and services. Your staff are without exception kind caring and conscientious in all aspects of their job and have infinite patience, and nothing appears too much trouble.

Mum had 2 weeks Respite Care in December 2025.
She has now gone for a further 4 weeks Respite care
with a view to become a permanent resident going forward.
The Care received has been first class. All the staff have been kind patient and attentive.
The facilities are excellent and is in a good
location.
And I will be very happy mum will be a permanent resident going forward.

The care home feels like a five star hotel. The rooms are very nice and comfortable. My mother is receiving the best care and help from all the friendly and caring staff. The management team are very helpful and caring. The meals I have had with my mother are very nice. The hairdresser is very good
as well. Everything is good about this care home. Very pleased.

Samuel House is an exceptional care home. The building is situated in a fantastic are open land, a lake, but primarily the staff. All of them are caring, patient, friendly, and nothing is ever too much trouble. They all go out of their way to make everyone happy, safe, and so special. The food/drinks
are excellent. Varied activities are daily enjoyed by all.

I've been really impressed with the home and the care that they are giving to my father. The staff there are wonderful and very attentive to the care and needs of the residents. A special mention for the food as well. It's all homemade, and it's important for older people to have good, wholesome food.
Wonderful homemade cake too! All in all, a fantastic care home. I thank all the staff for the care they are providing to my father.

My mum has been a resident at Mount Pleasant for the last eighteen months, during which time she has thrived and has a wonderful quality of life. She is looked after so well and adores all the staff. She enjoys the activities, especially spending time with the children from the local nursery and the
Christmas Party. Any medical issues are dealt with promptly, as are any personal issues, and it is always evident how much the staff care for her and show respect, dignity and affection at all times. It is very reassuring to know she is safe and looked after to the highest standard.

Lovely home and wonderful people that were welcoming from the very first contact made. Mum is very happy here and all of the care team now feel like mum's extended family. The bedrooms are beautiful and fresh, with plenty of nice features and there are lots of activities and spaces for entertaining.
Weekly hairdresser is a bonus and food is fantastic.
Would 100% recommend Samuel House to anyone looking for a home from home for their loved one.

My mother has been at Samuel House since August 2025, she enjoys all the activities which they do every day. Loves being able to sit outside and taken for trips out. When she was ill she was looked after superbly. The rooms are spacious, light and airy with plenty of cupboard space and lovely en-suites.
All the staff are kind, friendly and professional. I would recommend this home to anyone.

It was a very happy experience for me. I come from 3 weeks in 2 hospitals (in Portugal, private and here). I was greeted with warmth and shown to a beautiful room, which was to be my home for 2 weeks of recuperation. Staff come to mark my clothes and others to take me on a tour. Everywhere was beautiful
and staff so friendly. I felt at home. Food was tasty (too much), and I put on weight. I was sorry to leave, but will be in again if I need to. Would recommend.

My dad stayed at Samuel House for 2 weeks respite care. He thoroughly enjoyed his "holiday" and is keen to go back for another stay. Very welcoming atmosphere. His room was very clean and comfortable and he enjoyed spending time in the lounge and dining room. The food was fabulous and we were encouraged
to join him for meals. All the staff were very kind and welcoming and we found nothing was too much trouble for them. There were lots of activities planned throughout the day including a trip to the pub. The highlight of the stay was the staff. All very kind, hardworking and thoughtful.

From the very beginning, the home has shown a very caring, professional and helpful service. The manager and staff are friendly and have shown attentive care, especially to my mum with her many needs. When I leave the home, I feel my parents are in the best hands.

Both my mum and dad have resided at Mount Pleasant since 1st July 2025. Mum recently passed on 21st September 2025. Dad still resides. I visit regularly and cannot praise the carers/management enough. Mount Pleasant have an excellent team who are so caring and dedicated in all of their duties. They
show so much love and dedication they are an asset to Mount Pleasant. I would certainly recommend this care home. Nothing is too much

Since Robert moved into Heatherton House Care Home at the end of September, I have seen some really positive changes in Robert. He is very happy and well settled. He is really enjoying all the activities, and he is enjoying the company of other residents and staff. Robert feels safe and secure here.
He benefits from routine and knowing all his meals and other needs are met. For Robert, his own ensuite is extremely helpful because of his personal needs. The cleanliness has also helped Robert to feel comfortable. Having an outside space for Robert to wander around and have fresh air, and meet the local cat, have also been a bonus.

I really can't fault the home. A lovely atmosphere and very friendly caring staff. Always there with a smile. Numerous activities to suit everyone. Highly recommend just too expensive which is why I am moving my husband.

My lovely Mum came to stay in Samuel House while my partner & I had a short holiday. I was very nervous about leaving her, this was the first time since she has needed round the clock care. As soon as we arrived, we were both made so welcome, such lovely, friendly, caring staff. Mum's room was so
lovely, everything she could need was to hand. I unpacked for her & made sure she was settled & must admit I did shed a few tears when I left her. I felt confident though that she would be well cared for, & I had no need to worry. Mum couldn't praise the staff enough when I picked her up at the end of the break, she said to food was excellent too. I was very impressed with Samuel House, it's an extraordinary care home, we will definitely be using it again for all Mum's respite care. Thankyou so much to all the wonderful staff.
