My Mum went in for a weeks respite for the very first time at the end of March. This was an anxious time for us both however Nicky and all the lovely carers took great care of Mum. Mum even made new friends which was great for her. Unfortunately had to fund this myself due to an administrative issue which is being sorted however it was worth every penny as I was recommended and knew she would be very safe and looked after which she was. Mum will definitely be coming back and I would like to thank all involved for making her stay very easy and for the care given.
Thanks very much for taking the time to write us this wonderful review - your kind words mean so much to the whole team. It's great to hear that your Mum enjoyed her stay and made new friends whilst at Mount Pleasant, and we look forward to welcoming her back in the future.
Mum went into the care home at the end of January. All the staff are very caring towards mum. It always seems clean and tidy, and all meals are cooked on site. They meet all of Mum's requirements. Mum cannot do anything for herself at the moment.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We're so pleased to hear that your mum has been cared for with kindness and that you feel her needs are being fully supported. It's reassuring to know you've found the home clean, comfortable and well run. Your feedback means a great deal to our team.
My mum has been a resident at Mount Pleasant for the last eighteen months, during which time she has thrived and has a wonderful quality of life. She is looked after so well and adores all the staff. She enjoys the activities, especially spending time with the children from the local nursery and the Christmas Party. Any medical issues are dealt with promptly, as are any personal issues, and it is always evident how much the staff care for her and show respect, dignity and affection at all times. It is very reassuring to know she is safe and looked after to the highest standard.
We're delighted to see your mum thriving with us here - it's an honour to be able to care for her. Thank you for taking the time to write us a review and share your feedback; it means a lot to us. If there is ever anything more we can do to help, please just let us know.
From the very beginning, the home has shown a very caring, professional and helpful service. The manager and staff are friendly and have shown attentive care, especially to my mum with her many needs. When I leave the home, I feel my parents are in the best hands.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We're so pleased to hear that you feel confident and reassured by the care your parents receive, and that your mum's individual needs are being met with such attention. Your trust in the team means a great deal to everyone here.
Both my mum and dad have resided at Mount Pleasant since 1st July 2025. Mum recently passed on 21st September 2025. Dad still resides. I visit regularly and cannot praise the carers/management enough. Mount Pleasant have an excellent team who are so caring and dedicated in all of their duties. They show so much love and dedication they are an asset to Mount Pleasant. I would certainly recommend this care home. Nothing is too much
Thank you so much for your kind and heartfelt words. We are deeply sorry for your loss and extend our sincere condolences to you and your family. It means a great deal to us that you have been pleased with the care your mum and dad have received during their time at Mount Pleasant. Our team takes...
A lovely care home where my mother of 102 years is cared for very well all her needs are met with care and dignity. Activities are provided to keep her occupied (although she can never remember doing them unless prompted) The staff are always on hand to answer any enquiries that we have. Thank you to all the staff for keeping my mother safe and happy.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, it is our privilege to care for your mother and our team is dedicated to ensuring every resident feels safe, happy, and well looked after. Thanks again for your kind words, your feedback will be shared with the team, who will be delighted to receive it.
What shines out at Mount Pleasant is the understanding and kindness of the staff. They have taught my family a lot about managing the dementia and anxieties that my dad has. I like the way all the staff whatever their job title, are there first and foremost for the residents. Like an extended family. They inform us of any concerns promptly.
Visits from a doctor, chiropodist and hair dresser all help to keep dad healthy and looking smart.
There is an extensive programme of activities, events, visiting entertainers and trips out.
There is no shortage of good food, drinks and snacks.
I would love it if there were a bigger secure garden but on the plus side there are views and walks through fields or the village of Winshill, just on the doorstep.
I have little experience of other care homes but my family feel very happy with the care given here at Mount Pleasant.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and for your kind words about our home and the care your dad has received, it is our privilege to care for your dad, as a team we are dedicated to ensuring all our residents are happy, well cared for and feel part of our Mount Pleasant family, your wonderful comments have been passed on to the team who will be delighted to hear your feedback.
All management and staff at the care home are very polite friendly and professional. I can visit my father whenever I want but I avoid mealtimes as I want my dad to socialise with his friends. My dad always looks very clean and cared for and I know by looking at him his clothes are washed and clean. The residents have a constant supply of drink and snacks and their meals always look very healthy and well-balanced. I'm extremely happy with the care my dad receives from the home.
Thank you so much for your fantastic feedback, we're delighted that you feel your dad is receiving the care and attention he deserves and we're so happy to see him enjoying socialising with his friends! We appreciate your kind comments about the high standards of cleanliness, comfort, health and...
Grandad always looks so presentable, clean, happy and well fed. Always a carer on hand to help if he needs to sit down. Brilliant all round.
What a wonderful review, thank you so much! Your grandad is an absolute joy to spend time with and it's our team's privilege to care for him. Your lovely words and recognition of our dedication mean the world to us - our team works so hard to provide the care residents deserve and we're delighted...
All of the staff are very pleasant, use the person's name at all times. The staff try to engage with the person to either chat or join in activities. Rooms are clean and tidy. We were able to personalise the room with pictures which made it more homely. When my husband fell ill there were full notes explaining all actions taken, including offering food and/or drinks and whether they were accepted.
Thank you for your feedback, we strive for personalised-centred care for all our lovely residents, so it is wonderful to hear we are achieving this at Mount Pleasant. Your feedback will be passed on to the team, thank you again for your review.
My auntie is in the home and loves living at Mount. Pleasant. The staff, food, activities and everything is first-class.
Thank you for your lovely comments. The care and services we deliver as a team to our residents and families are extremely important to us. Your feedback will be shared with the team.
I am comforted by the fact that the manager actively asks me regularly if I have any concerns. That openness is great.
Where there have been concerns, as there is with anyone moving to a new environment, they have been addressed and dealt with.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and for your lovely comments about our home, manager, team and activities at Mount Pleasant. Your feedback will be shared with the team.
Well on arrival I didn't know what to expect, shocked was my first thought and going into the resident's room my jaw dropped to the floor. It was extremely dirty. I walked into the en-suite and thought oh my days. I proceeded to clean it myself, the person I was visiting was just lying on the bed, and her sandwiches which obviously was her tea were just left on the side. As this resident in my eyes should be assisted fed was just left to her own devices. Her personal hygiene was very poor and was in desperate need of a bath, the wooden flooring was absolutely filthy. Her bed was so old and as I sat on it was very uncomfortable. I have grave concerns over the care of this individual who is a paying relative. My rating would be 0 if that choice was available.
We pride ourselves on the resident experience and are sorry that on this occasion you found it has fallen short of the usual positive feedback we receive. We would be grateful if you could contact us at wecare@ariacare.co.uk so that we can learn more about your experience.
Mount Pleasant Care Home gives an excellent standard of care. Staff are always on hand to help and are always friendly. The care of residents is excellent. All individual needs of residents are met. Nothing is too much trouble.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and for your kind words about our home and the team at Mount Pleasant. It is lovely to hear your positive feedback on behalf of your father. Your comments will be shared with the whole team.
1) I would like to see my mum in a more comfortable chair instead of being in a wheelchair when I visit - she won't say that she is uncomfortable but I know she is.
2) My mum would love to have her hair done more often.
3) There is always an alarm sounding - why can't it be silenced more often?
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and for all your comments which have been shared with the team at Mount Pleasant. We value all feedback to enable us to continuously improve.
Moved Mum into the home in October and she settled within two weeks, mainly I think due to the very friendly atmosphere in the home. Encouragement to join in and chatter with people was a huge part of this and currently, I am delighted with the place.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and it is wonderful to hear that your mum has settled in at Mount Pleasant and is enjoying getting involved in daily life. Your feedback will be shared with the team.
I find the staff very pleasant and I find that nothing is too much trouble! The food is catered for my needs and my clothes are washed and put away for me. My room is outstanding and even the TV is fixed as soon as you say and that can be said for most things. Very good reception on arrival.
Thank you, Tina, for taking the time to leave us a review, we are pleased to hear that you are settling in at Mount Pleasant and are happy with your room and food being served. Your feedback will be shared with the team.
My mum's been in the care home for a few weeks, she settled in straight away. The staff are amazing with her. We are really happy they put themselves out. They do lots of activities which are really good. The care home is enjoyable to visit at any time.
Carol, thank you for taking the time to leave us such a fantastic review! We're happy to hear that your mum has settled so well and is enjoying the activities available at Mount Pleasant. I will pass on your kind comments to the whole team.
I have my dear friend in this home since November 2022. The carers as well as the manager are very kind and caring. They look after my friend very well and respond to any emergency if it comes. The food is very good and they take the residents for outings.
Thank you for taking the time to share your positive experience with Mount Pleasant - it is brilliant to hear that our food and outings are enjoyed! Both of which are very important for maintaining physical and mental well-being. Your comments will be passed on to the team.
My mother in law has Vascular dementia and Moderate Alzheimer’s and has been struggling at home especially at night becoming agitated and upset thinking people are breaking in. The care company were not providing her with the care she needed. My husband and I were very worried and quite stressed with the situation. The manager of Mount Pleasant Care Home was absolutely amazing and supported her and us before and during her first week's respite in February, which enabled my husband and I to go on holiday. She was so warmly welcomed and she absolutely loved her time in the home. It was wonderful to see her laughing and socialising she actually got her sparkle back, amazing. When she returned home she really struggled and over the following two weeks, she became more agitated and upset resulting in several calls to social care, the police and ambulance service. She is now living full time at Mount Pleasant where she is happy and safe. Thanks so much to the manager and her amazing team.
Thank you for sharing your experience with Mount Pleasant, Tracy. It's heartening to hear that we are able to provide such excellent care and support to your mother-in-law, particularly during her first week's respite and then able to welcome her into full time care with us. It's important for...

Meet the Team (1)

Having qualified as a registered nurse in 2000, I bring over 17 years’ experience to my role, with 10 years’ experience in orthopaedics nursing, working predominantly with elderly patients.
This wealth of nursing experience has equipped me with the appropriate skills for my role and daily life at Mount Pleasant, where I work hard to ensure that those in my care lead happy and fulfilling lives, whilst maintaining choice over the care and support they receive. Personal preferences from waking times to food choices, hobbies and interests are incorporated into any routine to ensure a home-from-home feeling from day one.
I am passionate about delivering great care and firmly believe in the importance of maintaining strong relationships with residents, their relatives and friends. Understanding the important contribution that these relationships make to the successful running of a care home, and making Mount Pleasant a home for our residents to live well in. I love nothing more than spending time with our residents and getting to know them better.
I look forward to meeting those who wish to find out more about our warm, welcoming community. I am happy to show you around our home.
