Dad is well cared for and fed well. The staff are always cheerful, helpful and friendly. Dad is settling in well and is encouraged to participate in activities. Dad is allowed to chill and take his time getting up and dressed, help is available but independence is encouraged, no rigid routines, so more homely. As his daughter, I am always treated with respect and friendliness by all staff.
Thank you, Alison. We are so pleased to read your wonderful comments about the care your dad receives; the team were thrilled with your feedback as we strive for person-centred care for all our lovely residents.
Special mentions to the activities coordinator for well-devised and individualised sensory care and the manager who runs Mount Pleasant efficiently across all the aspects of health care - she went out of her way to make sure my time with Mum was effortless and easy to arrange - thank you!
Thank you for leaving us your heart-felt comments, I am so pleased we were able to create the right environment for your reunion, we work very hard to deliver person-centred care for our residents. Our staff at Mount Pleasant will be thrilled to hear of your review and kind words.
My dad has been in the home for several months now and the care that he has received has been second to none. The home is so professional and have supported the family from day one. When Dad arrived at the home, he was unable to walk and through support and dedication, he is now walking again. Cannot thank the home enough. Dad is very happy and settled. Many thanks.
Thank you very much for your kind words, Julia. Nothing will stop us from delivering outstanding care for our residents at Mount Pleasant. Your dad has been brilliant - we will provide him with person-centred care for as long as he is with us. The team join me in thanking you for your positive comments.
I like to go out with activities and enjoy the entertainers when they come in to the home.
I would like a minibus so I can go on more trips out.
We would like to thank you for your words of kindness John, which are very much appreciated. All comments will be passed on to the team and feedback noted. Thank you again for the review.
Care in a care home has been so difficult in recent years, but Mount Pleasant have put residents first throughout, acting professionally but most importantly with care and great kindness. We are confident that they know Mum and look after her well and do their best to keep her safe and well.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a fantastic review! We're happy to hear that Mum is receiving such great care at Mount Pleasant and the family are confident that she is well looked-after - we strive for person-centred care for all our lovely residents. I will pass on your kind comments to the whole team.
I cannot speak highly enough of the care, kindness and generosity shown to my mum who is a resident. She suffers from dementia and is treated with respect and patience. The home is well run. The staff are dedicated and professional. Special mention for the activities lady who puts so much time and effort into the activities in the home.
Mum's very happy.
A very caring and loving care home. Staff are very helpful and caring and answer questions that you ask. The care home is always clean and full of life. The daily activities always provide amusement and fun to the residents and are aimed at providing fun and exercise. A great care home.
This is a lovely, caring place that provides a wonderful level of security and happiness for my mother. The staff are very kind, professional and constantly on hand. Nothing is too much trouble. The attention to detail regarding safety during this pandemic, is excellent. All my thanks to you.
Fantastic staff and a really great home - one of the best.
The service provided is brilliant and the staff are amazing.
The staff are very friendly and caring. Excellent care for my parent.
Although unable to enter the home due to social distancing, my wife was brought down to meet me. The arrangements were excellent and I felt safe and it was good to see how well she is being cared for. Mount Pleasant have done so well in these difficult times and have much to be proud of.
My father's care and medical needs have been well taken care of. The staff are caring, empathetic and respectful. My requests have been quickly addressed by all the staff from the management down. My father's clothes are well laundered, his room pleasant. The cleaning staff have worked around my father's desire to spend a lot of time in his room. The activities are many and varied for those who wish to participate. My father enjoys his food and the seating 'for the men' has been altered to include him at the table. The atmosphere at the home is cheerful and visitors are very welcome.
The staff have really gone out of their way to make mum settle in and have always had time to talk to me about any concerns (it’s very hard not to feel guilty about having to put someone in a home). I know now that she is safe and is being well fed.
I would highly recommend Mount Pleasant to anyone who needs to find a home for their loved one. I know that I have found just that for mum - a home.
When mum went in for respite, the staff were very reassuring and helped mum to settle in. Whenever we visited, mum was always being cared for by the staff and they all knew her by name including the non-nursing staff.
We cannot comment on the food but great care was taken to accommodate individual tastes and the dining areas were spacious bright and clean.
Mum was quite unsettled during her stay (she has Alzheimer's) but the staff were constantly reassuring her and provided lots of tea and biscuits and spent time with mum looking at the family photos she had taken in.
Whenever we rang the home or visited to check progress, the staff were very aware of our feelings towards mum being in care and were very sympathetic and understanding.
We have no hesitation in referring mum for full-time care at this home in the future.
Clean reception area although there have been times the lounge smells a bit whiffy.
Dining area very clean unfortunately I cannot comment on food as my mum cannot remember what she has just eaten.
The laundry is spot on, although my mum has lost several items of clothing.
My daughter got married recently in Nottingham and we arranged for a carer to accompany mum, this was brilliant and the best decision I could have made. I could enjoy the special day and mum got to see her granddaughter get married. The carer made sure mum looked beautiful and looked after her throughout the day and the hour back journey back to the home.
Overall, I am happy with the care my mum receives, mum is treated with kindness and her dignity is respected, the carers do a great job and are underpaid in my opinion.
I would recommend Mount Pleasant as mum is happy and realises that she could not cope any longer at home.

Lovely clean care home. Good food and nothing seems too much trouble for any member of staff who show kindness, they listen, they always have time to advise to give you and your loved one. They are constantly observing the residents. The staff are jolly and always smiling.
I have been trying for months to find the best care home for my husband and I would never have put him into a home that I would not want to go in. I/we found that home is called Mount Pleasant Care Home.
Management and staff are always available to talk to if needed and are friendly and approachable.

Meet the Team (1)

Having qualified as a registered nurse in 2000, I bring over 17 years’ experience to my role, with 10 years’ experience in orthopaedics nursing, working predominantly with elderly patients.
This wealth of nursing experience has equipped me with the appropriate skills for my role and daily life at Mount Pleasant, where I work hard to ensure that those in my care lead happy and fulfilling lives, whilst maintaining choice over the care and support they receive. Personal preferences from waking times to food choices, hobbies and interests are incorporated into any routine to ensure a home-from-home feeling from day one.
I am passionate about delivering great care and firmly believe in the importance of maintaining strong relationships with residents, their relatives and friends. Understanding the important contribution that these relationships make to the successful running of a care home, and making Mount Pleasant a home for our residents to live well in. I love nothing more than spending time with our residents and getting to know them better.
I look forward to meeting those who wish to find out more about our warm, welcoming community. I am happy to show you around our home.
