Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I was there following a suspected T.A (yet to be confirmed). And as a result, could not go on a family holiday to Marrakech. The home was most welcoming and the staff very friendly sometimes had to wait for assistance due to a shortage of staff ongoing to circumstances. Food availability was superb
and the quality was excellent. Facilities within the rooms (in my case) was a very good standard and the laundry service was again of a good standard. My time at Mount Pleasant was enjoyable but being fortunate that I am disabled and self-employed would require further stimulation mentally. My room was in a dead spot Re Wi-Fi however I did not go around the building trying to locate an active area.
Reply from Nikki Kelly, Home Manager at Mount Pleasant Care HomeThank you for taking the time to post a review regarding your stay Mount Pleasant. We encourage all residents to speak to us as soon as possible if they have any specific requirements and we advised that wi-fi availability is variable in different parts of the home with a stronger signal in the lounges and dining rooms.

We have a dedicated Activities Co-ordinator at Mount Pleasant which means our activities provision is diverse and varied. We encourage our residents to let us know their likes and dislikes, or if there is something they would like us to organise. The health, safety and wellbeing of our residents is always our primary concern and our staffing levels are met at all times, although it can take us a little longer to respond when staffing levels are slightly reduced due to short-notice sickness.

The manager and all staff are very kind, caring and understanding to both residents and their families. My sister is so much better and happier since residing at Mount Pleasant. There is always a pleasant and calm atmosphere when visiting and it is so reassuring to know my sister is receiving the care
and attention she requires and is safe. The staff work hard as a team to keep all the residents well cared for and happy.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.456) out of 10 for Mount Pleasant Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 13 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.656 for Mount Pleasant Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (133 Excellents x 5) + (9 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) + (9 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 154 Ratings = 4.656
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Mount Pleasant Care Home is based on 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 registered maximum number of service users is 10, which has been reached with 12 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2016

Having qualified as a registered nurse in 2000, I bring over 17 years’ experience to my role with 10 years’ experience in orthopaedics nursing, working predominantly with elderly patients. This wealth of nursing experience has equipped me with the appropriate skills for my role and daily life at Mount Pleasant, where I work hard to ensure that those in my care lead happy and fulfilling lives, whilst maintaining choice over the care and support they receive. Personal preferences from waking times to food choices, hobbies and interests are incorporated into any routine to ensure a home-from-home feeling from day one.

I am passionate about delivering great care and firmly believe in the importance of maintaining strong relationships with residents, their relatives and friends. Understanding the important contribution that these relationships make to the successful running of a care home and making Mount Pleasant a home for our residents to live well in. I love nothing more than spending time with our residents and getting to know them better.

I look forward to meeting those who wish to find out more about our warm, welcoming community. I am happy to show you around our home.
