My sister and I began looking for a care home for Mum for 'future proofing', little knowing that in a fortnight's time we'd need to find urgent respite care. Luckily Oaken Holt was one of the homes we visited and we'd liked it. When I called first thing on that Monday morning, they pulled out every
stop to get Mum there within the day. Roxana, the nurses, carers and everyone else working there have been amazing, taking such good care of Mum whilst she's been ill and all working towards the one goal of getting her strong enough to be able to go back home. A beautiful house set in lovely surrounds certainly helps her small steps towards recovery. Thank goodness we'd started our search that fortnight ago.
Reply from Rhiannon Freeman-Gray, Divisional Marketing Manager at Oaken Holt Nursing and Residential HomeThanks so much for taking the time to review us! We're delighted to hear how happy you are with the care your Mum has been receiving at Oaken Holt, and the kindness of the team. Let us know if there's anything more we can do to support you or her!

Claydon House have been excellent in caring for Mum at short notice after her fall and need for respite care. From the start, they made everything easy, visiting her at home to assess her needs and ensure they could provide the right environment. They chose a room that suited her well and gave us confidence
in the care she would receive. Visiting is flexible, and we are always made to feel welcome and able to join activities and meals. The house is clean, well-appointed, and her en-suite room has a lovely view and good access to shared spaces. Staff helped her set up the room comfortably and encouraged her to bring familiar items from home. Mum has made good progress, is settling well, enjoys chatting with other residents, and is treated with kindness and dignity. She says she likes the home, and we can see she is regaining her mobility. The management and staff are friendly and work hard to make Claydon feel like a home while offering high-quality nursing care.
Reply from Rhiannon Freeman-Gray, Divisional Marketing Manager at Claydon HouseThank you so much for this lovely review! We really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. My father was in Cedar View for nearly 4 months until he passed away at the end of Jan 2026. From the first day, when the manager accepted him at short notice, the staff were incredible supportive and helpful to both him and me. I visited often twice a day and got to know many of them well.
It is a
challenging role dealing with so many residents with complex needs, but they keep to a tight routine and treat all of them as individuals and with respect. Both the managers are excellent and always available if you have any concerns. The manager goes round each day to the rooms to see how the residents are. She very much knows what is going on which is a real asset and very reassuring. The carers and duty nurses work very hard, there are some excellent ones that stand out but all do their best and are courteous and helpful.
So despite it being an emotional time for both myself and my father, their support and care allowed me to have some extra time with him and I would recommend their home.
Reply from Rhiannon Freeman-Gray, Divisional Marketing Manager at Cedar View Care CentreThank you very much for your kind words - they mean so much to the whole team. We're so sorry for your loss, but it was a privilege to care for your father at Cedar View. We're happy to hear that you were so pleased with the care your father received and the supportive management. If there's ever anything more we can do to support you, please don't hesitate to ask.

From the first contact, I have been truly impressed with the welcoming and efficient nature of Denham Manor.
Every member of staff is friendly and happily makes the time to stop and introduce themselves.
My mother has only been a resident for a few weeks but in this time, with encouragement and
support from all the staff she is changing from being very sad to smiling and even laughing again.
Residents are gently encouraged to join in with daily activities and sit together for meals. I genuinely believe that nothing is too much trouble and all staff seem happy to help or stop to chat for a while, whenever they can.
Denham Manor has a very calm feel which is just what we needed after going through quite a turbulant time. It truly has a home from home feel where everyone cares.
I am also looking forward to exploring the wonderful grounds at Denham Manor as the weather improves.
A huge thank you to Chris and the whole team for the kindness that you have all shown.
Reply from Rhiannon Freeman-Gray, Divisional Marketing Manager at Denham ManorOn behalf of the team, we would like to thank you for your wonderful feedback. Providing exceptional care and support is at the heart of everything we do, so your kind recognition means a lot. Denham Manor was the first home I visited and to be honest I didn't look any further. Chris the manager showed me around initially ,he was so welcoming and answered all of my questions and concerns in a professional and caring manner. I also met with other staff members who were cheerful and friendly.
My mother has been at Denham Manor for the last few weeks and I can't recommend it highly enough. It has such a homely feel about it. The staff are all so caring and nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. There are activities available each day, my Mother particularly enjoys doing the puzzles. Last week when I visited it was another resident's birthday and everyone was enjoying an afternoon tea with China cups and saucers and wearing party hats, It was so lovely to see.
I feel extremely relieved that my mother is now safe and in the excellent care of Denham Manor.
Thank you Chris and team.

I want to thank the whole team at Belmont Castle for the excellent way they cared for my mother in the last 10 months of her life. Sadly, Alzheimer's robbed Mum of her memory and so being treated with kindness and compassion was especially crucial for Mum to maintain her dignity, and have her wishes
respected. The care staff are very professional and sweet, and Mum became very fond of her personal care workers in particular. It was such a relief for me knowing Mum was in safe hands and, when we took Mum out, seeing she was happy to return. I had no health LPA in place but the Belmont manager instigated getting a DOLS agreement in place, meaning a team of us would together make decisions in Mum's best interests. That too was very professional and much appreciated. Mum had a lovely room, with two windows with an outlook over trees. Belmont really feels homely. The staff are long stay, no constant turnover. That too helps create 'home'. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Carer's work very hard and have a good rapport with some of the and the staff also keep me in touch. The problem is they take to long answering buzzer. I feel her dignity could be better sometimes like clean bedding changed and clothes. I have only had to ask a couple of times for this to be done and
they have come straight away. Feel bathroom and table in room could do wtih wiping over everyday and the bathroom a bit tidier and bags put in bins not just put at bottom of bins.

My father has been at Claydon House for just over a month and the staff have been so supportive, answering our numerous questions and taking time to help Dad settle. He is enjoying the food so much he has put on weight! I feel so reassured that he is being well cared for in a calm, kind and gentle environment.
