Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother Maria moved into Charlotte House in October as I was finding it increasingly difficult to care for her and manage my job.
Charlotte House made the transition for mum and me easier, with their support, advice and help. Mum is now provided with the care and attention that I could not give her
. Every single member of staff is amazing. Always cheerful. Always happy to help mum, to help me. They are professional, kind and extremely approachable. I can say that my mum Maria is the happiest I have ever seen her. She wanted care, engagement and company and now she has that. She loves the activities which regularly take place. Our relationship has improved so much now. Charlotte House staff are flexible and welcoming whenever I take mum out or visit. Thank you is not enough for the difference Charlotte House staff have made in mum's and my life but I say it anyway. THANK YOU!

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
Overall the staff are good and care to my Mother is good. I have notice a few staff members maybe not be as attentive to residents as they should be, mainly in the evening.
I am happy with the facilities at the care home, my mother's room is kept clean and tidy.

Buchanan Court

from Trevor S (Husband of Resident) published on 11 December 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My wife has been a resident in the dementia suite at Buchanan Court since May 2019.
Her care has been outstanding throughout and always in line with the progressive needs of someone declining as a result of this disease.
Whilst managers have come and gone, the one critical aspect of their role has
always been to listen to residents and family members of those who can't speak for themselves. Issues are not brushed under the carpet, rather they are resolved and not allowed to fester.
In a multicultural environment it is not always easy to meet everyone's food palette but the menus are varied and there always seems to be something to please pretty much all residents.
The building is maintained to a high standard and the common areas and bedrooms are clean, fresh and tidy.
Overall this is a care home which sets itself high standards and lives up to expectation.
That might just be the reason why occupancy rates are so impressive.
Reply from Lorelei Shepherd, Reviews Team at Buchanan CourtHi Trevor Thank you for sharing your experience. We're delighted your wife has received outstanding care since 2019 and that our team's commitment to listening and resolving concerns has made a difference. Your comments on our varied menus, high standards of cleanliness, and welcoming environment mean so much to us.
We truly appreciate your trust in Buchanan Court and remain committed to providing the best possible care. Please reach out anytime if we can support you further.

Sherwood Grange

from Wendy M (Wife of Resident) published on 10 December 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My husband was a resident at Sherwood Grange for 3 years. During his time there I visited nearly every day and got to know know the carers and home very well. The core team of carers were there from the start which meant they knew him and the other residents very well. I found all the carers to be
very kind and caring to everyone, even the difficult residents. There is an activity team who organise outings and plenty going on within the home so most days they don't just sit in front of the TV all day. I have found that the management team are very hands on and approachable. My husband sadly passed away in September and as I didn't want him to go to hospital, he received end of life care in the home and for his last 3 days my son, daughter and I were able to be with him 24/7. Everyone was very kind and caring to us all and my husband. A number of the carers even attended my husbands funeral which is a testament to their caring nature. I would definitely recommend Sherwood Grange.
Reply from Paul Boyce, Reviews Team at Sherwood GrangeHi Wendy M (wife Of Resident) thank you very much for taking the time to leave us feedback about your experience.

us as a family has been clear and reassuring. We feel very confident that he is in safe and caring hands.

I have been coming to Franklin House regularly for the last 21 months to visit my dear friend, Mavis. In all that time , the care and attention she has received has been excellent. Her every need has always been catered for. The staff are helpful and friendly and all show compassion. When Mavis's health
started to decline and her Dementia took over, the care she received was very dignified. Nothing was ever too much trouble. That goes for me, the visitor, too. Her family and myself couldn't have wished for better care. Sadly, she passed away peacefully earlier this month and , again, the staff were all marvellous, allowing me to be with her during evening hours. The care and attention Mavis received never faltered once, it was always to the highest standard. This really is a valued Care Home. All the staff, from every department, are friendly, kind and sympathetic. Thank you all so much Franklin House, you have been truly amazing.

I would highly recommend Farm Lane Nursing Home. The rooms are kept very clean, and hygiene is clearly a high priority.
The staff are all amazing, from management to all the other hard working staff that care for my dad day to day. The staff not only ensure my dad is cared for to a high level, but
they are also caring and kind to relatives who visit the home.
Cannot fault the high standard of care given to my dad in the last 6 weeks. Well done Farm Lane.

My mother came into Franklin house very unwell from hospital after having carers in house which failed her. Since being in Franklin House her physical and mental wellbeing has improved significantly and she has gained a good relationship with the staff in the home and enjoys being in a close radius
to all family members.

I was invited to a wreath making event, the staff were very engaging & made it fun. There was lots to do and everyone seemed to enjoy it as much as I did. I regularly go to events and have always enjoyed them. They do seem to put a lot of effort into keeping their residents occupied and happy.

Carehome, clean, well run, accommodating to tenant requests. Nice garden. Food could improve and more choice given for light snacks. Because of location very quiet but close to tube station. Some problems with laundry not returned promptly. Notice smell in corridors and room of urine and maybe bleach
smell.

After a period of time in hospital our mother was unable to return home and needed full-time nursing care.
Franklin House was recommended to us and from our first visit it was obvious the level of care being given was to a high standard.
From the day our mother moved in she has received excellent care
from the professional, caring and friendly staff.
We never thought our mother would leave her room, or participate in anything, but she has surprised us by leaving her room daily, socialising and taking part in events.

Overall care was good as far as I can tell. Rebecca can remember nothing about it. I was not happy with the Prestay assessment. It should have been more personalised for Dementia sufferers and what Rebecca had been used to at home, such as airbed and air recliner. This could have prevented her bed sore
development. Also a post stay report would be useful for any Dementia sufferers carer. The home staff are always very helpful.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at Sherwood GrangeThank you for sharing your thoughts regarding Sherwood Grange. Your kind words regarding our care and our staff are greatly appreciated and valued.

We are sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with the pre-admission assessments. Providing the correct care for residents living with Dementia is one of our main priorities and we work hard with input from our Dementia Care Coach and Lifestyle Team in order to continue innovating our approaches and providing person centred, supportive care to all residents who reside in our home.

Your feedback and suggestions are greatly appreciated and we always welcome external input to allow us the opportunity to continue learning, developing, and providing the highest standard of care we can.

If you would like to discuss your suggestions further, the Home Manager would be glad to have a meeting with you to explore these in more detail.

My daughter Jowita spent two weeks at this Home Care. I would like to wholeheartedly thank all the staff for taking such good care of my daughter. The Home is beautiful, clean, and fragrant. When you walk in, you feel right at home. The entire staff is fantastic, helpful, caring, and friendly. My daughter

My husband has been in Franklin House since December 2021. The care that he has received has been so very good and extremely kind.not only to him but also to including me into the Franklin family. Carers, nurses and admin staff, especially Mathew the manager have all gone out of their way to ease us
into the care process. Really appreciate and couldn't ask for any more. Happy resident and relative.

I stayed at Buchanan Court for a fixed term 4 week respite after a hip replacement at nearby hospital
Was initially dubious as I had not previously visited a Care Home but was most impressed at the care given especially the dedication of all staff.
