Franklin House

from Terry P (Son of Resident) published on 20 August 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

As a son I worried about my mum going into a hime, some of the stories you hear about bad care, poor food and hygiene etc but from the very first time I entered the home to say I was impressed is a understatement. The staff from the manager to the carers, nurses, cleaners etc are all absolutely lovely
they all greet you with a lovely smile when you enter and take their time to explain how mum is and whether she has eaten and drunk well.
The rooms are lovely very tidy, the beds are forever being changed and mum is always spotless. The gardens and common rooms are very well kept in-fact it seems more like a hotel than a care home it even has its own bar. There is plenty to keep the residents busy as there are lots of classes and entertainment ( they even have seated yoga) every fortnight there is a hairdresser on site also a chiropodist.
The food is of a very high standard with a couple of choices. My only regret is mum didn't go there earlier and reap the benefits.

St Vincents House

from Nathan C (Son of Resident) published on 20 August 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mum has severe dementia. Mums been in St Vincents for over a year now after transferring her from another home.
The carers, catering staff, cleaners and managers here are absolutely wonderful. The care, love and attention they give all the residents is outstanding.
I honestly can't fault them.
They have a lot of people to look after and spend as much time as they can with them.
They do activities as much as possible to keep the residents as active physically and mentally as possible.
Anyway back to mum. Since she's been here we've had a few rough patches as shes now 80 but with the help of everyone she's still here and seems to be in such a happy place. We are getting to enjoy time with her that we didn't think we'd get. Its absolutely brilliant.
A big thank you to everyone here and hopefully mums going to be with us for a long time to come.

My father into Franklin House in June 2025 following an extended stay in hospital, when it was decided that he could no longer cope at home alone. We reviewed many homes and having visited Franklin House decided this would be the best one for him. The service the staff have provided is amazing, they
are always friendly and caring to both residents and families.

Very happy with mum's care although everytime I visit, her dentures are falling out. I have mentioned this so many times but it's still happening.
Staff are very caring and pleasant. It would be nice to see mum go on more outings as I tend to see the same faces your social media posts.

Foxbridge has been home to my friend for over two years now. During this time I have got to know all members of staff, and in turn they have all got to know her. Each and every carer are very engaging with my friend and give her the greatest of care. They are all very polite and professional and
take an interest in her. If I have a concern I feel able to voice it and know it will be dealt with. The nurses are on top of my friends medical needs and I am contacted if there are changes, however small. The Management teams door is always open and there is always someone to listen to me on a personal level, or sort a problem if I have one.

My dad moved into the home 6 weeks ago ....He is having palliative care and was unable to stay at home anymore ...was a big decision for our family so glad as he is now very much more relaxed.
Everyone has been so amazing and very supportive especially as dad was very worried but I am so thankful
for the nurses and carers .

Very welcoming and friendly atmosphere in the home. Smelt lovely. Fresh flowers everywhere made the home appealing. Actvities were taking place with the residents and they were being sung to by a staff member who was also playing a guitar.

Foxbridge House

from J C (Daughter of Resident) published on 13 August 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

My experience of Foxbridge over the last 6 years has been consistently good. They are very respectful of their residents in my opinion and most of the staff have a very kind and caring attitude. Activities can sometimes seemingly be challenging to meet all the expectations and capability levels of
all the residents hence my lower score on this. My relative is very settled here and I am very grateful to the Foxbridge Team for ensuring I never need to worry about their safety and know they are being well looked after.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and honest feedback, and for your continued trust in us over the past six years. We truly value your kind words about the team's care and respect for our residents. We completely understand that activities need to meet a wide range of needs and interests, and we appreciate your patience during this time.We have been operating with two fewer lifestyle colleagues since December, which has been challenging. However, outings and activities have continued, and we've adapted by incorporating more creative, electronic, and internet-based options to keep everyone engaged. We're very excited to welcome a new Lifestyle Lead this Wednesday, who will help us bring even more variety and tailored activities to the residents. Please know we are committed to continuously improving and ensuring your relative enjoys a happy, fulfilling experience with us. Thank you once again.

Foxbridge House

Mum has been a resident at Foxbridge House for nearly 3 years and has settled into daily life there very well. I am particularly impressed by the low staff turnover, allowing Mum to recognise her carers and they to truly know & understand her and her needs. The facilities are good with a varied programme
of activities on offer and visitors welcomed at any time - as well as to regular family events. The weekly Resident Meetings give residents a voice and regular Relative Meetings, update family. Staff are welcoming, caring and compassionate and keep me informed and updated about my mother and her care, which I greatly appreciate. Any worries or concerns I raise are addressed promptly and effectively, giving me peace of mind. The Home cultivates a sense of community and belonging among residents, and relatives alike.

Facilities great.
Staff super nice.
Caring attitude from Staff towards residents.
A few repeated requests to ensure my mother-in-law's teeth are stuck in properly has been an issue.
Not a fault of the Care Home but it still think it grossly unfair that someone who has saved money over their lifetime
are expected to contribute so much more than someone who enjoyed life by spending every penny.

Sherwood Grange

from B B (Wife of Resident) published on 7 August 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

It was with trepidation that I sent my husband, suffering with Parkinson's and dementia into Sherwood Grange for his first respite stay, but I felt reassured by the staff and their caring attitude towards him. His accommodation fulfilled all his needs and wants as did the staff taking care of him. They
made me feel at ease with the situation too, so much so that I have booked another respite stay for him (and me!) next month. So thank you to the team at Sherwood Grange.

Whitby Dene

from J D (Daughter of Resident) published on 29 July 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

All the staff in Whitby Dene cared for my dad, room 2, in every way needed. They all wanted him to enjoy his stay. They spent time and energy listening to him/talking about the books he had written/photos of his family. Encouraged him to eat/drink/walk. The staff acknowledged the residents when passing
them. I have worked as an activities organiser so know what hard work it is to get people to join in. Your home is expensive but came highly recommended. Luckily, he had saved all his life. Thank you. We were made welcome at all times.
