Overall Experience
I have been visiting my husband each day for the last 4 months. He arrived at Ellesmere from hospital and was most unwell. The staff and care received at Ellesmere have been wonderful, I cannot praise them too highly. Nursing care is of a very high standard and I know why my husband feels safe and well. Rooms are comfortable and there is a high standard of cleanliness.
The staff always make me feel welcome and any concerns I may have are swiftly answered.

My husband, who has Alzheimer's, has just returned home after four weeks' respite at Sherwood Grange. He was very well cared-for, well fed and offered interesting activiites. Staff were very patient and understanding when he became frustrated because his length of stay was uncertain due to complications with my knee replacement. When he was distressed they contacted me by phone so that I could speak to him and reassure him. They have a wonderful labelling service which meant that I didn't have to label all his clothes before he was admitted!

Staff and managers are helpful and friendly. The room accommodation is spacious (for a care home) and in particular the large en-suite shower room made moving around with mobility aid much easier than expected. We like the french doors that can be opened to allow fresh air in, and location next to Bushy Park. Also we particularly valued how helpful the maintenance staff were in getting a landline telephone up and running in her room quickly, as this was important as Mum who didn't get on well with a mobile phone. The small details like this, and asking what her favourite food is were great. Continuity of staff is valuable, and they quickly got to recognise Mum and me and our names.
The outside space is limited which isn't surprising given the location, but it is accessible and pleasant, and being next to Bushy Park is nice, and I have never had issues when parking to visit.

My mum has been resident at Highbury New Park for 2 years now and I am absolutely delighted with the staff and the setting. The level of care and attention is outstanding. She really enjoys the activities especially the music sessions. She also has a very healthy appetite and really enjoys the food. The menus are varied and nutritious and they always have healthy portions. When I visit at meal times I see how much she enjoys the shared time with other residents. I am so grateful to all the staff for the kindness and attention.

My brother-in-law has been an 'inmate' since mid-May. We were impressed with Foxbridge when selecting a nursing home for him and it was the best of at least ten which we visited. The staff are brilliant, responsive and proactive. They look after him very well and we are content in the knowledge that he is safe.
He has taken a while to settle in, but it looks like he is beginning to see it as a safe environment and one where he can feel at home.

We visited my aunt and uncle at Smyth Lodge today, and I just wanted to send a heartfelt thank you. Although they have very different care needs, both were so happy and well looked after. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed as if we were expected-it couldn't have been nicer. I spent two weeks in respite care at Foxbridge House following stomach surgery and 5 weeks in hospital . The environment was pleasant and the staff caring and available when required . Visitors were made welcome and the refreshments and common cafe area were excellent . It was also a bonus to have access to the large garden area at the rear of the first floor , which had enough space to enable me to build up my daily step count. There was also plenty of seating and shade ( which was definitely required).
The menus were reasonably varied and could be tailored to individual needs.

Ivy Grove is a wonderful care home which provides quality care and a friendly atmosphere for its residents. My mum was a resident for over two years, in that time she was very content and happy, she had made lots of friends within the home. She had a lovely room with a view to the garden, she was able to decorate her room to her own taste. The home provides a variety of activities and entertainment, from performance singers, exercise classes, visiting animals, art classes, days out to name a few The in-house catering staff provide delicious daily selections of freshly prepared meals, plenty of choice, even something tasty for all to enjoy in the bistro/cafe area.
All the staff at Ivy Grove, the carers, reception staff, the entertainment staff, cleaners and housekeeping do their very best to ensure all the residents are cared for. I can't thank everyone enough for the way they looked after my mum.

On arriving at the care home you are greeted by a friendly face at the reception desk, the office staff are also available to help whenever required. For security all the internal and external doors require entry/exit codes. The café is also well stocked and open to all, offering items from the kitchen to give you an idea of what is on offer to the residents. On the residence floors the care staff are always friendly and available for any questions you may have. The home itself is well kept and clean throughout. A good variety of activities are on offer through the week and it's up to the resident whether to partake.
