other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

This is the first time my husband has been in respite care. We looked at several. At Amberley Lodge, we both felt very comfortable immediately - ALL the staff are warm and friendly and very engaging with the clients.


He was was happy to come back home but very emotional to leave Amberley Lodge

- he said "thank you - you have all been wonderful".

A caring and safe environment. Amberley is like a large family where residents, staff, and resident's family are all involved. All are supported and made to feel welcome. Communication is first rate and two way. Daily activities where residents are encouraged to participate but not compelled, with a
number extended to whole family. The recognition and care of dementia is of a high standard and reassuring. The staff team have got to know individual residents needs and ways and this is reflected in their care and support.

Very pleased with Amberley Lodge. Always a nice atmosphere and the residents are very well cared for. There is always something nice going on. There is often live music and they celebrate lots of holidays and have special days. The staff are extremely helpful and caring.

Mum has been at Amberley Lodge for 2 1/2 years now and is doing so well. She is very looked after, loved, and is happy and relaxed. The staff go above and beyond to ensure her care meets her needs and communicate with me when changes may need to be considered in relation to her care plan.

All of the staff are very helpful and take care of my niece. Her room and bed are always very clean and tidy. She is always dressed in her day clothes and appears to be quite happy with everybody that comes in to attend to her. They all treat her respectfully and she reacts to them comfortably. The
Lounge on her floor has been very nicely renovated. The addition of a coffee shop on the ground floor is really welcome and nice to sit in and to have coffee with her when she is well enough. The coffee and confectionery are complimentary and very nice. Thank you all so much. Also the lady that l saw doing the cleaning did a very very good job and l did have to thank her and compliment her then and l will again now. Reception and admin are always very helpful as well. I don't often write reviews, but I must take this opportunity to commend Amberley Lodge for the quality of care and support they provide to their residents. It was our mother's 100th birthday in January, Amberley Lodge staff provided us with a celebration that we'll always remember. The decorations
were fabulous, the food was delicious, second to none. The residents have first-class meals at Amberley Lodge. The care given to Mum is exceptional. I highly recommend Amberley Lodge.

My wife is looked after very well and all the staff are helpful.
I am not in good health myself, so I am so grateful to know she is in safe hands with this terrible affliction.
The home is easily accessed by bus now I no longer drive and the coffee shop is a nice facility.
Cost is a worry but
hopefully, she will be able to remain there for her latter years.

My aunt has been in Amberley Lodge on a permanent basis since March. As the care home is purpose built the rooms and facilities are excellent. What really makes the care home stand out is the quality and caring nature of all the staff. This applies across the board from reception, domestic staff, chefs,
handyman, management and of course carers. There is a range of activities available to residents and the home arranges a lot of events which families are invited along to.

Well done everyone at Amberley Lodge on the excellent Fireworks/Diwali celebrations. It was a wonderful occasion with so much thought and effort put in by all the staff (including a dancing display by some of them).
The camaraderie between the staff is evident and Amberley Lodge has a warm, welcoming
atmosphere. The Manager is so warm, friendly and approachable and this in turn filters down to her staff.
My uncle is very happy there and the staff are so good at interacting with him.
Everyone is always very welcoming.

When entering Amberley Lodge you are struck by the warm welcome from the friendly staff. They are always kind and attentive to the residents and fun too. There is often laughter which makes it a happy place to visit. There is always something going on, they celebrate every occasion, with family and
friends regularly invited - their enthusiasm is infectious! They recently hosted a 97th birthday party for my mum with all the trimmings. There was a wonderful spread of food and drinks and the chef baked the most amazing birthday cake. They invited our whole family so Mum was surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren - 45 in total! We will all cherish the wonderful memories of that day. Thank you so much Amberley.

Ever since Mum became a resident of Amberley, she's been given exemplary care from all the staff. They are always doing everything possible to stimulate the residents offering many activities to help keep them as active and happy as possible. Everyone shows real genuine love, care and concern which
immediately puts your mind at rest, knowing your loved ones are being well looked after.
Mum was given a tremendous birthday party where the entire family were invited. Wonderful food, entertainment and it's no wonder why Mum is so happy here.

My mum has been a resident at Amberley Lodge for over 6 years, and I can genuinely say that she receives exceptional care from all the staff. There is a real sense of her being part of another wider family within the home, I could not have wished for a better home for her and feel so lucky that we chose
Amberley. The manager and the entire team from carers to kitchen staff are a real credit to their profession. If there was a higher CQC rating than Outstanding then Amberley Lodge and their lovely staff would definitely earn it.

This is an excellent care home.
Very clean and efficient.
I moved my mum here from another care home and the difference was immediate in how attentive the staff were.
From the top to bottom the staff are caring and kind which is what you want for your loved one. They are made to feel individual

Received a call regarding Mum’s current health issues and visited her in the home this morning.
As usual, the staff was very friendly and discussed Mum’s issues in detail and openly. We will get more information after the SALT team assesses her tomorrow. Based on past experience of nearly 6 years the
family are confident that Mum is being very well looked after and that the staff are true carers who are dedicated to helping old people like my mum who suffers from Alzheimer’s.

My mother was a resident at Amberley Lodge for a year. The care home has a happy atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. A range of varied events to entertain residents are held throughout the year.


The staff who looked after my mother were kind and caring and they all did their very best for

her. Despite the challenges that my mother's dementia presented, the staff were considerate and understanding throughout.
It was a great comfort to know that my mother was cared for so well.

My mother has been a resident at Amberley Lodge Care Home for over seven years. It is a warm and welcoming environment with dedicated staff and management who are approachable and sympathetic to any concerns. The level of care is outstanding - my mother is always clean and well-fed and any medical issues
are promptly identified and attended to. The accommodation is lovely: rooms are beautifully furnished, scrupulously clean and well-maintained. Family and friends can expect a warm welcome and functions for residents and guests are held throughout the year in the lovely garden. I would not hesitate to recommend Amberley Lodge to anyone looking for a caring and comfortable residential home for a loved one.

Excellent care from all the staff. Very understanding in dealing with my dad's issues. Facilities are good and kept in good order by the maintenance team. The events team swing into action at celebration times and brings staff/family/ residents together for fun events. Highly recommend Amberley Lodge.

My mum came here after six weeks' stay in hospital when it was decided that she'd be better in nursing rather than residential. The improvement in Mum is phenomenal. She came in August and is like a new person. Happy, well fed, cheeks glow and there is life back in her eyes. All the staff so have been

Mum had her 96th birthday yesterday. I asked if the chef could do a cake and said a number of family would pop in. We got there, not only a cake but loads of pickies, pop, tea and coffee. The entertainment team had decorated her room and the meeting room and laid on music. We had Mum singing along!
This
is just how this care home goes the extra mile for residents and family alike.
Big shout out to entertainment and chef!

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2016

I have a nursing degree as well as an MBA from the University of Wales. I started my career with Care UK when I joined Amberley Lodge as a Senior Nurse in 2016. It was an exciting move as Care UK has a superb reputation for its vision of care and the support it gives to its colleagues.


I’ve seen the company’s high-quality approach to care in action at Amberley Lodge; it was a privilege to be part of the team that achieved an ‘outstanding’ CQC rating in 2018. Now to be the home’s Manager is something truly special.


I love spending time with residents and colleagues to find out how their day is going and look for ways I can support them to enjoy their day to the full. We’re one big family - relatives, residents and colleagues all look out for each other. I look forward to welcoming you to Amberley Lodge very soon.
