At Buchanan Court Care Home, Care UK, we set ourselves high standards, so we are delighted to hear that your experience with us has been such a positive one.
We look forward to...
The staff at Buchanan Court were amazing with my mother's care.
Far too many to mention but Lorelei was outstanding and effectively acted as my sister in the home helping me to navigate the path of having a Mum who at 94 needed full time care.
BIG George ( who looks like he should be the Heavy weight champion of the world ) is the world's best example of a gentle giant looking after Mum with kindness. Karthika, Diana, Maria, Christmas Tree and so many others really looked after Mum.
The managers care focus and pride in the summer parties and BBQ with his constant hard work all really appreciated.
Yes the facility is great, cinema room, mini pub, garden area but it is the staff who make the difference.
In fact weeks after my Mum leaving I bumped into BIG George, Xmas Tree and others and their concern for my Mum was still shown by them.
Love them all for the support and care they give.
Your kind words about our team, will mean a great deal to them. Supporting residents and their families is at the heart of...
My experience was good, I was looked after very good during my stay. I am thankful to all the caring staff wish them to keep it up and god bless them. Please say thanks to Maria, Catalina, Amali and Irina for their excellent service during my stay.

At Buchanan Court Care Home - Care UK we hold ourselves to a high standard and therefore we appreciate all feedback so we can continually look to improve and ensure the delivery of high quality care.
From the moment we arrived at Buchanan Court we knew it was the place we wanted our friend to be. The home provides outstanding care administered by an excellent team and complemented by very professional nurses and carers. Without exception the staff are kind, considerate and caring to both residents, family members and visitors alike. Nothing seems too much trouble to them. The home has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere from the moment one walks in the front door. The administrative team are very helpful and are always willing to give advice and help when needed. All of this makes us happy to know that the decision to put our friend here was the correct one and consequently we can now relax knowing that she is in safe hands and receiving the best of care that we could hope for. There is a very varied menu with excellent food and good entertainment is provided. The home is warm, clean and cosy and the residents seem very happy to be there. We highly recommend it.

Her care has been outstanding throughout and always in line with the progressive needs of someone declining as a result of this disease.
Whilst managers have come and gone, the one critical aspect of their role has always been to listen to residents and family members of those who can't speak for themselves. Issues are not brushed under the carpet, rather they are resolved and not allowed to fester.
In a multicultural environment it is not always easy to meet everyone's food palette but the menus are varied and there always seems to be something to please pretty much all residents.
The building is maintained to a high standard and the common areas and bedrooms are clean, fresh and tidy.
Overall this is a care home which sets itself high standards and lives up to expectation.
That might just be the reason why occupancy rates are so impressive.
Hi Trevor Thank you for sharing your experience. We're delighted your wife has received outstanding care since 2019 and that our team's commitment to listening and resolving concerns has made a difference. Your comments on our varied menus, high standards of cleanliness, and welcoming environment...
Was initially dubious as I had not previously visited a Care Home but was most impressed at the care given especially the dedication of all staff.

My sister and I looked at many Care Homes and we are both so glad that we chose Buchanan Court for our mother.
The Home is spotlessly clean, the staff are friendly and welcoming and offer an exceptionally high standard of care, in my opinion.
The carers really do take the time and trouble to get to know the individual residents' likes and dislikes and make an effort to accommodate the individual's personal needs.
I cannot say how much it means to me to hear my mother laughing with the Carers and to know that she feels safe, happy and cared for and is treated with dignity and respect. The entertainments that are provided at Buchanan Court are much appreciated by the Residents and their attending relatives. Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Buchanan Court for all their hard work and dedication.

My experience at Buchanan Court Care Home has been excellent. I was on Byron ward. Bearing in mind that many of the occupants of Byron ward have multiple problems and are often very ill and need a lot of attention. My observation is that the nursing and care staff work very hard and give wonderful, kind care to everyone. I felt it was important to all staff that I acknowledged this!!

From the very first day at this home, the transformation was remarkable. The team supported my family and me through every step-explaining funding options, different types of care, and how they could tailor support to my father's specific needs.
In just five months, my father has regained his speech and, most importantly, his personality. The staff are incredibly approachable and have made us feel like part of their extended family. Their compassion and professionalism have made all the difference.
I've already recommended this home to others because of the outstanding care and support both my father and I have received. It's been a truly life-changing experience.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. We're truly moved to hear about your father's transformation and the positive impact our team has had on your family. Supporting each resident with compassion, dignity, and tailored care is at the heart of everything we do, and knowing that your father...
It is never an easy decision to move your loved one into a Nursing Home but the moment I walked into Buchanan Court, I knew it was going to be the right place for my mum. The home is light and welcoming, and the accommodation clean and tidy. Ensuite rooms are large, comfortable and quickly made homely. Most importantly, the staff at all levels are professional, approachable, supportive and kind. From initial contact to moving in, we were provided with clear and helpful information, and any questions answered with good advice. My mum settled in very quickly and continues to receive a very good level of care which is flexible and tailored to her needs as they change. There is a genuine interest in each person, their needs and their quirks, and our whole family feels supported.

The place is warm, fun and spotless. It was a joy to have Mum there in the holiday season and she was very happy and well cared for.
My father moved into Buchanan Court in November and lives there now. He has vascular dementia and Alzheimer's. The staff there, at every level, have made a huge effort to get to know Dad's likes and dislikes, life history and eccentricities. They're kind, thoughtful and caring and the way they manage both his mental and physical needs is very impressive.

We began with a five week respite stay in November 2023 and eventually full time dementia care from June 2024 until Dad sadly passed away in November.
All the staff guided us through the whole process clearly and kindly. They not only looked after Dad but they cared about us to. We could always talk about any concerns. The communication was superb and I never doubted that Dad was in the right place.

My mother celebrated her 100th birthday this weekend at this care home. She has been a resident there for three and a half years so this birthday was very special. All the staff at the care home made sure it was a real celebration! From the start, they decorated the foyer with lovely balloons and Mum was dressed in the outfit I had got her - plus a tiara and sparkly sash. We were entertained by a lovely singer who was the daughter of one of the relatives of a resident there too. Our family made up a party of eight adults and two very young children and were seated around Mum, with other residents close by. There was much music, laughter, food, drinks and cake for everyone. Mum did manage to wave and clap to the music and loved her party food - also holding her great-grandchildren - no mean feat when they aren't exactly small! I cannot thank the staff enough - well done all of you for making the day special - and Mum got her special card from the King and Queen too.

After a week in hospital, following a fall, my mother was transferred to Buchanan Court to recover. The care was excellent and the team were kind, considerate and looked after her so well. Even though the staff were sometimes under pressure, the care remained good and treated my mother with consideration and respect. The physio/rehab was very supportive and helped her recover well. They also were very helpful when visiting her, happy to help out and answer any questions. My mother is now back home, with the support she needs and having greatly improved during her stay.
I was nervous, at first, when my father moved into Buchanan Court but the manager and her team immediately made me confident that we had made the right choice. The facilities are superb and the staff are amazing, the manager is a first-class home manager and I must also praise a member of staff on the nursing team who looked after my father, she was brilliant!

Meet the Team (1)

Welcome to Buchanan Court. My background is in nursing. In fact, I worked as a paramedic for the air ambulance for a long time, and as a unit manager in a brain injury department. When I joined Care UK, I started out as a nurse assessor and clinical lead, before progressing to be a home manager.
I’m very proud to work for Care UK – it’s one of the leading providers of older people’s care in this country and it has great systems and clear values. It also supports its colleagues to do their best work and to progress.
One of my favourite parts of my role is meeting with residents and their families and understanding their needs. I love seeing people flourishing with the person-centred care they receive from our fantastic team. Supporting them to live the life they want – that’s our ultimate goal at Care UK.
I’m personally passionate about ensuring every person we care for is happy, safe, understood and able to continue enjoying their relationships with their loved ones.
In my spare time I like to unwind by watching movies and reading books. I’m from Romania originally and, when I can, I still like to travel and experience new places, people and cultures.
