Staff are very helpful and caring, they make sure that the residents are well looked after and provide a safe environment. My mother is happy here. She's fed, showered and the room is bright and cheerful. Staff are ready to help with any queries/concerns.

Buchanan Court is an outstanding care home. Our mum/grandma was so happy living in what truly became her ‘home’, in all senses of the word. Everyone was so kind, caring and welcoming, right from our first visit to Buchanan Court, through to our fun and memorable window-visits, which involved such love and laughter. Everything seemed to be so individually tailored, making mum/grandma feel really special - us too. A big thank you to you all from the three of us and the two dogs.

Her room along with all the communal areas were kept spotlessly clean and her own personal requirements including laundry were well dealt with the minimum of fuss. From the time I made initial enquiries about the home to the days and weeks following her passing the administration staff were always available to talk to and assist with any queries that came up.

My aunty was a resident in Buchanan Court care home. Buchanan Court is a loving, caring, clean and warm home. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the staff, manager, care workers are very friendly and understanding. They allowed my aunty to be very comfortable. They respected her wishes all the time. Overall, I will say this home is wonderful, caring and loving.

My mother was a resident at Buchanan Court. She came in November 2018 until 18th April 2020. She was happy and comfortable during her stay. During her end of life, I was allowed to visit her during the lockdown. I must admire this care home for their carers, staff, management, life skills and various other departments. The carers were so wonderful, loving, gentle, understanding, and supportive. They looked after my dying mother with dignity, love, and passion. They were so extra caring and helpful towards me and my family. That was my mother's home and still is my mother's home. Love them all.

My mother has been very well cared for at Buchanan Court for over 2 years. I am particularly impressed with the management of the home during the current health crisis. We have access to weekly zoom meetings which keep us informed of all developments and we have a weekly visit set up to see my mother in the garden area. I find the members of staff very friendly and helpful. The accommodation is modern and comfortable and it is good to know that Mum is being well looked after in these difficult times.

Overall I consider this is a very good care home and would highly recommend it.

My sister has been in Buchanan Court for the last 15months or so and has settled in very well. She has been very well looked after and has not had any re-occurrences of the infections that flared up when she was in the previous care home. The staff are very kind, and I would not have any hesitation in recommending the home to anyone.

My husband, who was bedridden, should never have been accepted by Buchanan Court because his needs were too great for the nursing available. There was a lack of supervision of the nursing assistants and one in particulars attitude bordered on cruelty. He was made to feel a nuisance and was left for long periods with no interaction from anyone. Some were caring but over-worked. Food was unappetising, inedible and tough. Rooms well decorated but impractical eg no reading light over bed. Large sum deducted from his account, unauthorised. No telephone call when admitted to A& E at 9pm. My husband rang himself the following morning.

I would like to say a big thank you to all of them and a special thanks to two staff in particular and the chef.

I was the first resident here. The home has gone from strength to strength. I am happy living here, it's like an extended family. Everyone works hard to make it a nice place.

My stay at Buchanan Court has been very good. Staff are very nice, apart from one or two, the majority are very good.

I stayed at Buchanan Court for 7 weeks, for rehab after hip surgery. I have to admit, when it was time for me to be discharged, I felt sad to leave as the staff have been so wonderful, friendly and helpful. All the team at reception, lifestyle, and carers have made me feel so at home, nothing was ever too much trouble. I would definitely recommend Buchanan Court to others for rehab/nursing.

The care home provides such a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The medical care is of an excellent standard. They have dealt with Mum's care and medication so thoroughly. Thanks again for your care. We wish all of the staff the best.

During my stay, I was made to feel welcome. Staff were helpful and caring. I was encouraged to join in the daily activities, which were enjoyable, especially the themed day (Caribbean). Food, on the whole, was good and plentiful. The menu was not always accurate. There were alternatives offered instead of printed menu i.e. sandwiches.

Hospital visits should be better coordinated.

10 months on, my opinion remains the same. It is a wonderful and family-oriented care home. I have developed close relationships with most of the staff and I look forward to visiting Mum as I feel that Buchannan Court is an extension of my own home. The senior management are always available and willing to listen to concerns of the family and visibly take action where needed. Staff care for residents with such patience and affection that is 2nd to none and no doubt is reflective of the management style that the home has adopted. Can't praise them highly enough be it senior management, carers, support, maintenance or admin staff. They are outstanding and I have grown fond of them. Thank you for taking care of my mother so well in her time of need.
