A great summer Fayre organised and hosted by the staff of Franklin House. Such hard work went into ensuring this event went smoothly and it really did. Great hot food, beautiful cakes and fresh fruit. Cold and hot drinks also available. Everything in great supply.
Great entertainment and a raffle with prizes donated by family members and staff.

A great afternoon. Well done to all involved. Thank you

Our 87 year old Mum was admitted to Franklin House after being discharged from hospital following a life threatening illness. It is difficult to express how impressed we are with Mum's care which has resulted in the dramatic improvement she has made in her six weeks with Matthew and the team. We have our old mum back and are so grateful. The staff are tremendous, nothing is too much trouble. Her room is a good size and always spotless as is the rest of the home. There is always plenty going on to keep the residents entertained; for example yesterday, as it was such a gorgeous spring day, as we were leaving they were all off into the gardens for a sing song!

Thank you to Matthew, Cristina, Tracey and the whole team, you are super stars!

I want to say a massive thank you to everyone at Franklin House for the care they took of my lovely mum in the time she was with them. Everyone there from the managers to the nurses, carers, support and admin staff treated her and my family with respect and kindness and we will always be grateful. The home and my mum's room was always clean and well presented. I always felt included and well informed about everything to do with mum's care both in medical and general wellbeing terms and I know they did their utmost to keep her safe and well and loved right up till she sadly passed away earleir this year. I cannot thank them enough on behalf of myself and my family for helping to make what was at times a difficult time much easier to manage. Their professionalism and humanity was impressive to see particularly as they often have to work under sometimes very difficult conditions. Thank you again Franklin House. We were lucky to find you... xxx

So we were moving our mum to Franklin house due to her last care home not being very good. From the moment we walked into Franklin house we were made to fill so welcome. Tracy went above and beyond for us and Mathew and Christina were also fantastic. Unfortunately our mum passed away before we could move her all the staff were so kind and caring I would 100% recommend Franklin house to anyone who is looking to put a loved one into a care home. This is not an easy decision but Franklin house made it so much easier

We are extremely happy with care that my mum receives from the care home , the staff are all very supportive, friendly, and professional. A variety of activities are daily organised which my mum enjoys engaging in ( and we are welcome to join in if visiting) . We are always informed of any doctor visits and any treatment my mum requires. The food is off a good standard and variety offered. The staff went to great lengths on Christmas day to accommodate our relatives to have lunch with my mum (as myself and wife were away ) a table was especially laid for them and they experienced a fabulous lunch and valuable time with my mum . We are also invited on any Trips that are organised and again theses are run professionally and entertaining for the residents ( a great time is had by all)
My mum is always well presented and clean and her room is kept clean and tidy.

We are always kept up to date with any changes or needs my mum requires by the management team they are always available .

Franklin House has provided excellent care for my dad for over a year now. He is very settled and genuinely happy there, which means a lot to our family. The staff are outstanding - always kind, patient, and professional. They treat residents with real dignity and respect, and their communication with us as a family has been clear and reassuring. We feel very confident that he is in safe and caring hands.

I have been coming to Franklin House regularly for the last 21 months to visit my dear friend, Mavis. In all that time , the care and attention she has received has been excellent. Her every need has always been catered for. The staff are helpful and friendly and all show compassion. When Mavis's health started to decline and her Dementia took over, the care she received was very dignified. Nothing was ever too much trouble. That goes for me, the visitor, too. Her family and myself couldn't have wished for better care. Sadly, she passed away peacefully earlier this month and , again, the staff were all marvellous, allowing me to be with her during evening hours. The care and attention Mavis received never faltered once, it was always to the highest standard. This really is a valued Care Home. All the staff, from every department, are friendly, kind and sympathetic. Thank you all so much Franklin House, you have been truly amazing.

My mother came into Franklin house very unwell from hospital after having carers in house which failed her. Since being in Franklin House her physical and mental wellbeing has improved significantly and she has gained a good relationship with the staff in the home and enjoys being in a close radius to all family members.

After a period of time in hospital our mother was unable to return home and needed full-time nursing care.
Franklin House was recommended to us and from our first visit it was obvious the level of care being given was to a high standard.
From the day our mother moved in she has received excellent care from the professional, caring and friendly staff.

We never thought our mother would leave her room, or participate in anything, but she has surprised us by leaving her room daily, socialising and taking part in events.

My husband has been in Franklin House since December 2021. The care that he has received has been so very good and extremely kind.not only to him but also to including me into the Franklin family. Carers, nurses and admin staff, especially Mathew the manager have all gone out of their way to ease us into the care process. Really appreciate and couldn't ask for any more. Happy resident and relative.

My dear mum was in another great home belonging to Care UK, when she was admitted to hospital. When she recovered her mobility was not good so another care home was needed. But where? And then a lovely lady said on the phone ' what about our sister home Franklin House?' It was only a short distance from the other care home. On 17th April, 2015 mum was accepted into Franklin House.

What can I say about Franklin House? They have become our second family. Mathew was at one point manager of Mum's previous care home and I like to think his managerial skills were transferred to Franklin House. His door is always open, Christina, Regina, Anthony, mums other family. I can't fault the care, commitment and respect they all have towards the residents. Mum passed away on Saturday February 24 2024. On the Monday she would have been 97. We like to think it was the care she was given that enabled her to life a long, wonderful life. We don't know what we would have done without them.

Have found Franklin House to be clean and tidy, staff friendly, helpful and professional, nothing seems to be to much trouble.
Activities arranged for the residents, normally a choice of meals available at the appropriate time, hot food could be warmer.

Happy with the staff who attend to his needs, highly recommended.

Mum was admitted into the care of Franklin House in May 2025. I can only heap praise on every single member of staff that works there. From the moment mum moved in, they made her feel very welcome and extremely comfortable. They went out of their way to tend to her needs and i know she was very happy to be there after much trepidation about leaving her flat. Even though we went to visit every day, the staff always made a point of coming to see us to update us about mums progress and her food intake. It is extremely clean and tidy within the building and it was lovely that we were able to bring our dog with us to visit her. As mum had lost her mobility, it was lovely to be able to take her outside into the garden so she could get outside on the sunny days. Sadly she passed in August, but the staff were so helpful and caring when arranging everything. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them.

I joined Care UK in 2001 from the teaching profession. I liked Care UK’s ethos and what the company had to offer. I’ve worked hard to get a good team around me – having a team I can trust makes my job a lot easier – and many of the residents’ relatives have been great in supporting us to get the home to where it is.

Day-to-day I love chatting to residents and listening to their stories, as well as finding out how we can make their daily lives even better.
