Franklin House care home is a welcoming setting in West Drayton delivering dementia, nursing and respite care.

The modern, purpose-built home has a relaxed atmosphere, with light and airy rooms and large, secure gardens where residents can take a stroll or even lend a hand with the gardening. The home has themed spaces that are great for residents living with dementia, including a reminiscence room, music room and sewing room. The home even has its own in-house pub and hair salon.

The friendly team enjoys getting to know each resident so they can tailor each care and lifestyle plan to the individual. All of the activities offered are based around residents' lifelong hobbies and the things they tell the team they like doing.

Franklin House has provided excellent care for my dad for over a year now. He is very settled and genuinely happy there, which means a lot to our family. The staff are outstanding - always kind, patient, and professional. They treat residents with real dignity and respect, and their communication with
us as a family has been clear and reassuring. We feel very confident that he is in safe and caring hands.

I have been coming to Franklin House regularly for the last 21 months to visit my dear friend, Mavis. In all that time , the care and attention she has received has been excellent. Her every need has always been catered for. The staff are helpful and friendly and all show compassion. When Mavis's health
started to decline and her Dementia took over, the care she received was very dignified. Nothing was ever too much trouble. That goes for me, the visitor, too. Her family and myself couldn't have wished for better care. Sadly, she passed away peacefully earlier this month and , again, the staff were all marvellous, allowing me to be with her during evening hours. The care and attention Mavis received never faltered once, it was always to the highest standard. This really is a valued Care Home. All the staff, from every department, are friendly, kind and sympathetic. Thank you all so much Franklin House, you have been truly amazing.

My mother came into Franklin house very unwell from hospital after having carers in house which failed her. Since being in Franklin House her physical and mental wellbeing has improved significantly and she has gained a good relationship with the staff in the home and enjoys being in a close radius
to all family members.

After a period of time in hospital our mother was unable to return home and needed full-time nursing care.
Franklin House was recommended to us and from our first visit it was obvious the level of care being given was to a high standard.
From the day our mother moved in she has received excellent care
from the professional, caring and friendly staff.
We never thought our mother would leave her room, or participate in anything, but she has surprised us by leaving her room daily, socialising and taking part in events.

My husband has been in Franklin House since December 2021. The care that he has received has been so very good and extremely kind.not only to him but also to including me into the Franklin family. Carers, nurses and admin staff, especially Mathew the manager have all gone out of their way to ease us
into the care process. Really appreciate and couldn't ask for any more. Happy resident and relative.

My dear mum was in another great home belonging to Care UK, when she was admitted to hospital. When she recovered her mobility was not good so another care home was needed. But where? And then a lovely lady said on the phone ' what about our sister home Franklin House?' It was only a short distance
from the other care home. On 17th April, 2015 mum was accepted into Franklin House.
What can I say about Franklin House? They have become our second family. Mathew was at one point manager of Mum's previous care home and I like to think his managerial skills were transferred to Franklin House. His door is always open, Christina, Regina, Anthony, mums other family. I can't fault the care, commitment and respect they all have towards the residents. Mum passed away on Saturday February 24 2024. On the Monday she would have been 97. We like to think it was the care she was given that enabled her to life a long, wonderful life. We don't know what we would have done without them.

Have found Franklin House to be clean and tidy, staff friendly, helpful and professional, nothing seems to be to much trouble.
Activities arranged for the residents, normally a choice of meals available at the appropriate time, hot food could be warmer.
Happy with the staff who attend to his needs,
highly recommended.

My Mum has been receiving very good care at Franklin House. The care home management and staff are very engaged with the residents and helpful with care needs. Mum is happy with the care she is receiving and loves her chats with the carers. The food is really good and she is settled and her health has
stabilised. I would recommend this Nursing Home

Mum was admitted into the care of Franklin House in May 2025. I can only heap praise on every single member of staff that works there. From the moment mum moved in, they made her feel very welcome and extremely comfortable. They went out of their way to tend to her needs and i know she was very happy
to be there after much trepidation about leaving her flat. Even though we went to visit every day, the staff always made a point of coming to see us to update us about mums progress and her food intake. It is extremely clean and tidy within the building and it was lovely that we were able to bring our dog with us to visit her. As mum had lost her mobility, it was lovely to be able to take her outside into the garden so she could get outside on the sunny days. Sadly she passed in August, but the staff were so helpful and caring when arranging everything. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them.

As a son I worried about my mum going into a hime, some of the stories you hear about bad care, poor food and hygiene etc but from the very first time I entered the home to say I was impressed is a understatement. The staff from the manager to the carers, nurses, cleaners etc are all absolutely lovely
they all greet you with a lovely smile when you enter and take their time to explain how mum is and whether she has eaten and drunk well.
The rooms are lovely very tidy, the beds are forever being changed and mum is always spotless. The gardens and common rooms are very well kept in-fact it seems more like a hotel than a care home it even has its own bar. There is plenty to keep the residents busy as there are lots of classes and entertainment ( they even have seated yoga) every fortnight there is a hairdresser on site also a chiropodist.
The food is of a very high standard with a couple of choices. My only regret is mum didn't go there earlier and reap the benefits.

My father into Franklin House in June 2025 following an extended stay in hospital, when it was decided that he could no longer cope at home alone. We reviewed many homes and having visited Franklin House decided this would be the best one for him. The service the staff have provided is amazing, they
are always friendly and caring to both residents and families.

Mum was a resident of Franklin house for over 2 years after her release from hospital after breaking her hip in a fall at home. Mum suffered from a number of conditions including Dementia, heart related issues, and being frail which meant she needed assistance with her movement, bathroom, bathing and
later on feeding. As difficult a time as this was for mum, she was always treated with respect and dignity throughout her stay.

I believe Franklin worked hard to make mum as comfortable as possible during her stay with them, with one in particular, her carer who formed a bond of trust and friendship with mum which helped her greatly. Franklin house itself was always clean and tidy if a little tired in places, but this has recently been improved with new carpets and paint throughout, bringing it back up to date.

My husband was only in Franklin House a short time receiving palliative end of life care.
He received good care with dignity and compassion from the care team. They were also very good at keeping me updated of any changes. The management team were helpful and respectful towards the family during a
difficult time. The home was clean and seemed well run. Unfortunately, my husband was too unwell to join in the many activities the home offered.

Care home is clean and staff are very helpful. My mother has alot on interaction with staff. They arrange activities for her in the morning and afternoons. They keep an eye on her when she has her breakfast and lunch and dinner. Her personal hygiene is good and her clothes are changed everyday and washed.
We

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.804)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.804) out of 10 for Franklin House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 45 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 45 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.804 for Franklin House is calculated as follows: ( (420 Excellents x 5) + (87 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 514 Ratings = 4.804
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Franklin House is based on 45 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2, which has been reached with 45 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2001

I joined Care UK in 2001 from the teaching profession. I liked Care UK’s ethos and what the company had to offer. I’ve worked hard to get a good team around me – having a team I can trust makes my job a lot easier – and many of the residents’ relatives have been great in supporting us to get the home to where it is.

Day-to-day I love chatting to residents and listening to their stories, as well as finding out how we can make their daily lives even better.
