View Full Details of Franklin HouseVery friendly placement of our Mother from hospital, lots of good advice to help her settle in and be at her new home. The staff are excellent in their care and personal approach. We feel that Mum is safe and in very good hands.
My Mum has been receiving very good care at Franklin House. The care home management and staff are very engaged with the residents and helpful with care needs. Mum is happy with the care she is receiving and loves her chats with the carers. The food is really good and she is settled and her health has stabilised. I would recommend this Nursing Home
I am very impressed with Franklin House. It is such a relief for me that my Mum is looked after. The level of care is exceptional & all staff have gone out of their way to help my Mum settle & make her feel ar home. I highly recommend this Care home.
Mum was admitted into the care of Franklin House in May 2025. I can only heap praise on every single member of staff that works there. From the moment mum moved in, they made her feel very welcome and extremely comfortable. They went out of their way to tend to her needs and i know she was very happy to be there after much trepidation about leaving her flat. Even though we went to visit every day, the staff always made a point of coming to see us to update us about mums progress and her food intake. It is extremely clean and tidy within the building and it was lovely that we were able to bring our dog with us to visit her. As mum had lost her mobility, it was lovely to be able to take her outside into the garden so she could get outside on the sunny days. Sadly she passed in August, but the staff were so helpful and caring when arranging everything. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them.
After a previous experience that was far from ideal . Its been like a breath of fresh air seeing my dearest Mum thrive at Franklin house. We know Mum can be difficult at times due to her dementia , but staff always take the time to comfort her & are patient with her . The leadership is strong and reflects in the staffs dedication to provide exceptional care. We are so happy to have found Franklin house Nursing/Care home & highly recommend it to anyone looking for excellent care. We thank you for giving us peace of mind & treating my dearest Mum with care & respect. Big heartfelt thanks to all the team .
As a son I worried about my mum going into a hime, some of the stories you hear about bad care, poor food and hygiene etc but from the very first time I entered the home to say I was impressed is a understatement. The staff from the manager to the carers, nurses, cleaners etc are all absolutely lovely they all greet you with a lovely smile when you enter and take their time to explain how mum is and whether she has eaten and drunk well. The rooms are lovely very tidy, the beds are forever being changed and mum is always spotless. The gardens and common rooms are very well kept in-fact it seems more like a hotel than a care home it even has its own bar. There is plenty to keep the residents busy as there are lots of classes and entertainment ( they even have seated yoga) every fortnight there is a hairdresser on site also a chiropodist. The food is of a very high standard with a couple of choices. My only regret is mum didn't go there earlier and reap the benefits.
My father into Franklin House in June 2025 following an extended stay in hospital, when it was decided that he could no longer cope at home alone. We reviewed many homes and having visited Franklin House decided this would be the best one for him. The service the staff have provided is amazing, they are always friendly and caring to both residents and families.
My dad moved into the home 6 weeks ago ....He is having palliative care and was unable to stay at home anymore ...was a big decision for our family so glad as he is now very much more relaxed. Everyone has been so amazing and very supportive especially as dad was very worried but I am so thankful for the nurses and carers .
Mum was a resident of Franklin house for over 2 years after her release from hospital after breaking her hip in a fall at home. Mum suffered from a number of conditions including Dementia, heart related issues, and being frail which meant she needed assistance with her movement, bathroom, bathing and later on feeding. As difficult a time as this was for mum, she was always treated with respect and dignity throughout her stay. I believe Franklin worked hard to make mum as comfortable as possible during her stay with them, with one in particular, her carer who formed a bond of trust and friendship with mum which helped her greatly. Franklin house itself was always clean and tidy if a little tired in places, but this has recently been improved with new carpets and paint throughout, bringing it back up to date.
My husband was only in Franklin House a short time receiving palliative end of life care. He received good care with dignity and compassion from the care team. They were also very good at keeping me updated of any changes. The management team were helpful and respectful towards the family during a difficult time. The home was clean and seemed well run. Unfortunately, my husband was too unwell to join in the many activities the home offered.
The Manager and his team cared for my Dad in his final few months with great care, compassion and dignity. I can recommend Franklin House to anyone looking for palliative care for a loved one. Thank you to all the staff for looking after my Dad.
Care home is clean and staff are very helpful. My mother has alot on interaction with staff. They arrange activities for her in the morning and afternoons. They keep an eye on her when she has her breakfast and lunch and dinner. Her personal hygiene is good and her clothes are changed everyday and washed. We were no longer able to assist out mother after she had hip operation. She sometimes forgets that she cannot walk.
Franklin House has met all the needs that my mum requires. She is very happy there and likes to join in activities when she can. She eats a lot better now, and her personal hygiene is far better than when living on her own at home. She enjoys having company.
Great place for my mother with Alzheimer's. Good facilities, caring staff. Trips are organised, games are played and entertainers visit. Annual BBQ with relatives. Cultural days are held. Nice garden. Chiropodist and hairdressing service. "Pub" for family parties

I spent 3 months trying to find a care home suitable for my mother's nursing needs, I then finally found Franklin House. The staff all take care to get to know my mum as an individual and meet all of her care needs. As her needs change with her dementia, the home and its staff adapt to provide her with the best possible life, always putting her needs first. The activities that are held regularly, trips out to the local farm, theatre etc and in-home activities ensure that she remains involved and gets the vital stimulation that dementia sufferers need. Even the beautiful garden around the home is great to stroll around in the summer with the different plants, trees, veg patch and even a couple of resident rabbits! The management take an active interest in all their residents and are approachable and available when needed. Their clear communication style and engagement with resident's family members ensures that I have an active involvement in my mum's care.
I visit a friend in this care home, residents are looked after and kept looking clean and tidy. The carers are very good in all situations. the home is spacious and decorated nicely, the table clothes and flowers on the meal tables make it homely .
