Mum ha slived in Franklin House for one year and has always been happy. The staff are kind and caring. On her 100th Birthday, they organised a wonderful party. There were music, party food and a large 100th Birthday cake. The Mayor attended and presented her card from the Queen

My mother was in Franklin House as part of an NHS 'step down' placement for nursing dementia. The home was very clean, the staff were very attentive and friendly and Mum was made very comfortable there and well looked after.

I found this to be a kind and caring home, attentive to my mother's needs. She was not able to benefit from the activities or facilities so I have not commented on them.

The home is well managed by the manager and the nurses on my mother's floor were kind, approachable and always well informed about her health.

My mother in law was brought here after a spell in hospital and after receiving care in her home three times a day.
She is not an easy person to care for due to her mental state, but the care she has received has transformed her.

She always looks clean and comfortable and is now joking with her care team.

I am very happy about the care my dad receives at Franklin House all the nurses and staff are very friendly and helpful. Although my dad does not really know where he is, he is always happy and gets on very well with carers. He is always clean and tidy and enjoys his food very much.

Could do with an update on décor and furnishings but that's just cosmetic and have been told that it will be done soon.

My date was taken to Franklin House from hospital after no more treatment was possible he had multiple organ failure. The situation was explained to us and he was kept comfortable, he had dementia but the staff were patient and kind and he was kept comfortable. It was unfortunate that he died on a Friday night quite suddenly and we had no information at first.

My auntie was in Franklin House for a short period of time as sadly she passed away. The care and attention she received was above expectations. The staff always advised the family of her condition, the medication/treatment she was receiving and always took time to engage with my auntie and us. They were very patient with my auntie as she was a very difficult patient. She was kept immaculately clean, her dressings were changed regularly and the staff persevered with feeding her and ensuring she was taking enough fluid. The staff were always very pleasant and no request was ever too much for them. No matter what time we visited we were always made welcome. My mother, at 92, used to visit with me but she didn't want to see her sister in the latter days but the staff always enquired after my mum and fully understood how mum felt. They have offered us to pop in for a cup of tea at any time too. I can't praise them all enough. A big thank you, everyone.

My husband spent 9 nights respite care so I could have a holiday with my daughter.
I felt immediately happy leaving him at Franklin House as he seemed relaxed and comfortable with his surroundings.
Lovely friendly, caring staff who understood his (at times) behavioural needs.

For this, I can only give my enormous thanks to all.

My brother was in the final stages of suffering from Leukaemia and was admitted to Franklin House so that he could pass away in peace and with dignity. From the moment he arrived, he was treated like someone very special. His every need was met with love and compassion. Sadly, he was only there for a few hours but it was as though the staff had known him all his life and that they were welcoming him home. I will never forget their kindness, not only to him but to me and my family. Thank you so much.

I was very concerned as this was the first time my dad was gong in for respite care, but I felt from the initial assessment, right through to picking dad up, at ease. Found the staff very friendly, caring and helpful and understanding of dad's needs.

My mother was taken in by Franklin House at very short notice due to having a fall. From our first interaction during Mum's assessment for care until her final days, I found everyone at Franklin House to be professional, respectful and totally focussed on my mother's care needs. She welcomed their interactions and in her eight short weeks made many friends amongst the staff.

The care and support I received after Mum's death was exemplary and continues still.

I joined Care UK in 2001 from the teaching profession. I liked Care UK’s ethos and what the company had to offer. I’ve worked hard to get a good team around me – having a team I can trust makes my job a lot easier – and many of the residents’ relatives have been great in supporting us to get the home to where it is.

Day-to-day I love chatting to residents and listening to their stories, as well as finding out how we can make their daily lives even better.
