My mum was taken to hospital on 1st January from her assisted living home after a fall.
The hospital said, because of her dementia, she would need 24/7 care.
I wasn't in the country and had to find somewhere. Tennyson grange is close to where I live in the U.K. so called them in a bit of a panic.
From the call being answered by Emma with her reassurance and then speaking to Harriet I felt calmer and felt a plan was now in place.
Francois was really helpful getting everything sorted and my mum move in on 16th Jan.
All the people who work there are so nice. They gave my mum time to settle in and now she participates (as best as she can) in lots of the activies that are done daily.
My mum has settled in better than I thought. We both love the coffee in the bistro area and she enjoys the food especially the deserts!!!

Staff are very friendly, always willing to help. Reception staff always happy and cheerful. Gives you a good first impression of the care home.
It was a very emotional and difficult time having to place our lovely mum into a residential care home. My sister and l felt overwhelmingly guilty but our fears were soon allayed having visited the care home on a couple occasions prior to my mum becoming a resident. The staff/team are caring, polite and extremely helpful. More importantly, my mum seems very settled and happy. Thank you to all at Tennyson Grange.
I am so impressed with the reception staff, they are always so friendly and helpful. They make you so welcome when you go into the care home . The activities are second to none , that was one of the reasons I chose Tennyson Grange . The activities co-ordinator and her assistant are always doing something with the residents. Whether they are taking them out on trips or having entertainment in the home . Arranging flower arrangements or doing art work in the art room . I find the carers are so helpful and caring and very friendly, the manager of the home is always assessable and ready to listen to anything you have to say .

Tennyson Grange care home has been brilliant to my grandmother and our family. She has felt loved, safe and cared for in the past three months that she's been living here. Her spirits have lifted from all the joy of the activities and company. She often tells me that she could never feel alone here. The leadership have had grace and compassion throughout the whole process of my grandma going from respite to permanent and the carers have been excellent. She is in good hands here, which has taken all the weight off my shoulders.

My father happily moved in and I was given as much time as needed for him to settle in, visiting regularly although there are so many activities he is rarely alone or in his room. I would wholeheartedly recommend.
dad moved into Tennyson Grange a few months ago and we cannot fault the care and support he has received. The staff at the home are warm and friendly and their kindness and support during the last few months has been amazing. The home is so welcoming and Dad is the happiest we have seen him in a long while.

The individuality of each resident is central to the mission of this dedicated staff. This is evident in the range of menus on offer, the varied nature of the numerous activities and the interaction and warmth of the relationships. I am delighted my sister is in such safe, caring hands.

My father was resident for six months receiving memory care at Tennyson Grange. He thrived in this wonderful vibrant home engaging in the many activities on offer. Sadly his condition deteriorated but he received excellent end-of-life care at the home. We as a family were always welcome and supported at this difficult time. We couldn't have asked for a better end of life experience and as a result have grieved knowing that our father's final months were full of fun and he was cared for by superb staff.

Dad was a resident in Tennyson Grange for almost three and a half years until he sadly passed away recently, weeks before his 99th birthday. During all his time there, he was treated with dignity and kindness by all the staff. There were multiple activities and outings he could participate in, and he had first-class medical care from the GP and nurses at the home. I cannot recommend highly enough.l

Very caring, understanding and supportive of Dad's needs and our concerns. Have gone above and beyond to settle Dad in and to make him feel as at home and as comfortable as possible Nothing is a problem for the staff and Dad is not demanding to leave as he feels contented. We leave Tennyson Grange knowing that Dad is in amazing hands which is a great weight off our shoulders. Thank you so much.

Dad has Alziemers, we were concerned about how he would cope with the transition into a care home. The home went above and beyond to make Dad feel settled and welcome. Dad has adjusted well and says he's happy. If I have any concerns management is very approachable. I chose Tennyson because of the activities department. The Lifestyle leader deserves a medal. She is the heart of Tennyson. Reception is very helpful. Everyone is so friendly and kind.

I'm very happy at Tennyson Grange and I couldn't ask for better care. The care staff are kind and caring.
Everyone goes above and beyond for mum and the other residence and some stay late, just because they care and want to do their job to a high standard. When the staff pass her room they say hello and goodbye with a smile.
Also, a very big thank you to all the people who are behind the scenes that don't get recognised. Thank you!

Meet the Team (1)

I was delighted to join Care UK, as I felt at home with the values the company represents. I liked that Care UK offered clear, meaningful values, focused on what truly matters. I also really enjoyed how welcoming and homely Tennyson Grange felt.
Additionally, I admire the strong support Care UK provides for dementia care, which shows real dedication to residents and their families.
I believe every Home Manager brings something unique to the role, shaped by their background, experience, and the passion they have for care. To be successful, you need strong people skills and a genuine desire to understand how best to support others.
A great Home Manager leads with passion, empathy, and a deep understanding of both the team and residents. It’s also important to be reflective and open-minded, as this allows you to adapt, grow, and enable positive change within the home.
I am proud to work in care because it’s a role not everyone can do. It takes compassion, patience, and dedication, and I value the privilege of making a difference every day. I love that this job allows me to work with a wide range of people, and it’s the residents who truly make what I do so special.
