The first impression is everyone is happy, all staff! A really warm atmosphere. Nurses are quick to respond to any request. Food is excellent and allow wine if requested. Lots of activities, guest singers. Great sun terrace. Rooms are very nicely furnished and you can put up picture frames, they will do it for you. Everything is spotless and clean. 3 car parks, can turn up any time. Mum is very happy and says they let her do what she likes, thinks it's a hotel.

I find many aspects of my brother's care very good but some things seem inconsistent and apparently dependent on which staff are on duty. I am especially impressed by senior leaders' responsiveness to feedback and requests for support/information. The range and quality of activities, in particular, the cultural activities and links with major cultural institutions such as ENO and the VeA and the lovely welcome in reception.

Thank you very much for your feedback; we're extremely pleased to hear your positive comments regarding the quality of care, although I understand you have some concerns about the continuity of the care team. We do take your concerns and feedback seriously, and it is reassuring that you are happy...

Mum has been a resident for 3 years now. She is comfortable and as happy as can be. The care she receives is exceptionally good. All the Care staff are kind, supportive and caring. The nursing staff ensure all her needs are met and always gives us as a family regular feedback so we are happy knowing she is in good hands. I also want to mention the reception and office staff and all the managers who are always there to answer any questions we may have and welcome us when visiting.

I would like to say thank you to the activities department at Tennyson Grange, on behalf of my wife and I, for all the activities that we went on in December. Trips to the music hall and to the pantomime, also all the entertainers who came to entertain at Tennyson Grange. Also for a very nice Christmas lunch which was a great success. We would also like to thank all the carers that look after her and the admin team, well done to everyone. Thank you.

Having carried out due diligence, we chose Tennyson Grange for my mum. All staff are very welcoming to residents and families alike, it's clean with great facilities and well presented. Everyone from the management, household, administrative, activities, carers and medical teams who are well trained, caring, always helpful and will go out of their way to make residents and their families as comfortable as possible, when necessary, simplifying any challenges faced. The activities team always offer an amazing variety of internal activities and external entertainment, as well as visits outside of the home.
There is something for everyone from choirs, and singers covering all different genres, to visiting the theatre. I’d recommend Tennyson Grange to anyone, it is the people who make the place, so thank you to all the kind, caring, cheerful staff. Please keep doing what you’re all doing as you all excel at it! 200%

The best thing for me is to feel reassured to know you have made the best and right decision.

My mum settled into full-time care with ease. We expected there to be some teething problems along the way, but everyone was very caring towards her, which made her transition comfortable. The amount of activities on offer has given her a new lease of life. She now has lots of things to look forward to and talk about. She recently told me that she is very happy and has no regrets about moving into Tennyson Grange.

The manager and her team have been looking after my dear friend for over a year now and they excel in everything they do. The activities schedule is outstanding. Everyday there is always something going on to keep the residents entertained. I have visited several nursing homes and Tennyson Grange is far by the best. I would highly recommend it to any family considering their stay here for a family member. The care staff and reception staff are also amazing. 10/10 service.

We are having a very good experience at Tennyson Grange. My husband has now been a dementia patient there for over 2 months.
He was taking in very quickly because of his very challenging behaviour.
This went smoothly, considering how rushed we had to be.
We found a very caring team of carers, laundry, cleaners, reception, management, nurses and catering staff.
Also, the weekly GP is a very empathetic person.
Food is of a very high standard. I have eaten there myself so I can vouch for this.
The activities are outstanding, led by a brilliant team. This makes for a marvellous atmosphere, for patients and staff.

Bright and clean, so a really lovely place to visit and bring our friends too.

My godmother has only been a resident for two weeks, but everything so far has been brilliant. I turned up unannounced but was welcomed and shown around. The help and support I got with things to extract my godmother from the hospital was such a relief, and now she is installed, I have every faith that things are only going to get better. Everyone is so friendly. My godmother though confused seems so much happier.

The care, attitude and provision at Tennyson Grange were excellent. In fact, I would say exceptional. Attention to each resident's individuality, needs and ideas was paid. The atmosphere was friendly and caring. The activities were varied, catering for a variety of interests. The food was excellent. The staff were always willing to help and their training was excellent

My mum has now lived here for six months. She has fully settled in and enjoys participating in the daily quizzes. As her general health has now improved, she has also recently started going out on day trips in their minibus. By nature, she is shy and quiet, but she is making friends with fellow residents. I find all the staff very approachable and easy to talk to.

We're leaving after a stay of one year and seven months. We have lovely carers, and the chef is magnificent. Housekeeping is brilliant, and the entertainment fabulous - lots of activities and outings. The nurses are fabulous. We have been moved onto the nursing floor and were looked after well.
Am very happy in general, and the deputy manager is very kind and professional and runs a good team of staff.

Sad to leave, and we will miss the carers and nursing staff the most.

This place is lovely. The staff are great, especially with the residents and the cleanliness is fantastic. The daily schedule is brilliant for the residents, there is so much to do for them, it is great. I love that my nan has flourished being here. Its beautiful grounds and accommodation is great, with lots of room. She loves it here and so do our family. We are very grateful that a place like this exists. Compared to other care homes, this is fabulous.

Choosing to place a loved one in a care home is a particularly emotional time. However, Gracewells of Sutton took good care of my father, and I felt reassured that he was looked after and well-treated. The room was pleasant and comfortable with a pretty garden view, and the unit was clean and well-organised. The nurses were friendly, professional and very thorough, and they were obviously on top of my father's needs. The care workers were absolutely terrific - so kind, friendly and welcoming. I would also like to mention how wonderful the home admissions officer was when I was arranging the care for my father - her kindness and professionalism will not be forgotten. Thank you, Gracewells of Sutton.

Reply from Jogie Dellota, General Manager at Tennyson Grange

Gracewell of Sutton appreciates moving into a care home can be an unsettling time. This is why we take the time to engage with family members and friends of the resident to make the process as smooth as possible, to get to know the resident on a personal level. We are pleased you had such a positive experience, and we will be passing on your kind words, which will be greatly appreciated.

I was here for two weeks and found the majority of care satisfactory. The home was very pleasant, warm and comfortable and the food not always to my taste; there was too much meat. Overall, my stay was good and it would be nice to see the garden and the terrace in the warmer months. The object of my stay was to give my sister a break and this was achieved.

Harriet Mensah-MandleyJob Title:Home Manager

I was delighted to join Care UK, as I felt at home with the values the company represents. I liked that Care UK offered clear, meaningful values, focused on what truly matters. I also really enjoyed how welcoming and homely Tennyson Grange felt.

Additionally, I admire the strong support Care UK provides for dementia care, which shows real dedication to residents and their families.

I believe every Home Manager brings something unique to the role, shaped by their background, experience, and the passion they have for care. To be successful, you need strong people skills and a genuine desire to understand how best to support others.

A great Home Manager leads with passion, empathy, and a deep understanding of both the team and residents. It’s also important to be reflective and open-minded, as this allows you to adapt, grow, and enable positive change within the home.

I am proud to work in care because it’s a role not everyone can do. It takes compassion, patience, and dedication, and I value the privilege of making a difference every day. I love that this job allows me to work with a wide range of people, and it’s the residents who truly make what I do so special.
