My brother was dying - end of life - The staff went above & beyond to make his last 2 weeks of his life so much easier to understand and cope with. I flew out from Australia arrived exhausted & jet lagged & concerned. Staff not only looked after my brother with dignity and respect and yes love, and
allowed me to be with my brother all day. I was treated with courtesy, respect & dignity and supported by all I encountered. I am so impressed by the service in every dept & from everyone I encountered. Well done! My thanks always.

Today I have had a valentine's lunch with my mother at Carpathia. It was arranged by the head chef Sharon with Claire and Megan from the lifestyle team. The lunch was delicious and the room was decorated beautifully. It was a lovely experience and I appreciate the work that went into making it a very
special lunch.

I looked at four care homes in person, however I had also read CQC reports for at least another four which did not sound too good. Hampshire recommended several but I was not impressed! Although my father took a while to settle (having been moved around by the NHS) he grew very fond of the carers looking
after him. His two & a bit years in Carpathia Grange were happy. I could not fault the service that they provided. It was an excellent choie which suited my fathers needs.

My 97 year old father needed nursing care following a fall. Ancasta Grove was a wonderful choice, though he was only a resident for a short time. His passing was peaceful and comfortable. Most impressive was the pastoral care provided to the family during this difficult time.
My father could not have
passed more peacefully.

Parker Meadows

from J S (Husband of Resident) published on 30 January 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
We looked at a number of Care Homes for my wife who needs palliative care and nothing came close to Parker Meadows for standard of accommodation. I liken it to a room at a luxury hotel compared with many other Care Homes. It is often stated that it's the level of care that is important, but the level
of accommodation is important to the resident, and their loved ones in lasting memories. The common vision of a large common room where most residents sit around during the day is not the case at Parker Meadows. Larger numbers of residents often gather downstairs in the entrance lounge for scheduled activities. Dining areas are also smaller and numerous but that does not detract from personal in room service to support needs of less well residents. Care and medical needs are also very well provided for by a team of nurses , carers, housekeeping, cleaners and other support staff. Well managed, professional care, in a modern custom built home where 'Care' is evident everywhere. A must to view.

We feel as a family extremely fortunate to have found Ancasta Grove. Our father was admitted as an EOL patient. He was nursed with dignity, supported by all members of staff. The family were helped throughout this sad period of time. Emotional support for the family was seen as important as care for
our father.
Something which at a sad time is overlooked by many. Thank you on behalf of our father and our family

from Mike D (Son of Resident) published on 21 January 2026

This is the first review of the care home that I have submitted in some time.

My elderly father has been a resident ever since the home first opened back in 2021. He has dementia & is increasingly frail. I know - & can see from my regular visits - that he remains very happy to be at Ancasta Grove

& that is, in large part, due to the quality of the care he receives from all of the staff within the home.

While I am, at times, a little frustrated at some of the communications from members of the care team, there is absolutely no doubt that they are very diligent in the way they go about looking after dad & managing some of the issues he faces from day to day.

Dad is particularly fond of the front desk staff who are obviously very caring individuals & also look after him very well.

It is also obvious that Colin puts in a tremendous amount of effort to keep the residents - dad included - entertained & engaged on a daily basis, so much credit is due to him for his efforts.

Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at Ancasta GroveThank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback regarding Ancasta Grove.

In December 2025 after living at Pear Tree Court for one year, my mum had a stroke. When she was discharged from hospital, the nursing and care teams worked hard to understand the changes in Audrey's abilities and needs. They adapted their approach to Audrey's care so that she could regain most of her
speech, the use of her hands, regain a little mobility and the ability to join in with social activities. We could not have hoped for a better outcome.

Pear Tree Court was a fantastic home for my mum who has just had a 2 week stay for respite. (We have also booked a future stay).
We felt heard right from our first contact and were welcomed in. It really does feel like a big family of love and support where needed. All the staff were great and patient
and it was a relief to know that my mum was safe and well cared for. John deserves a special mention as he is so attentive and caring which makes a difficult decision a little easier. Thank you Pear Tree Court.

My Grandma was recently a resident in Ancasta Grove, where she received end-of-life care for just under nine months. The quality of care, attention to detail, hygiene, the relational warmth of the staff and the general environment was exceptionally good! I work in healthcare and am all too aware that
not every care facility in the UK provides a great experience for their clients. This place is different: all the staff seem to take pride in their work and look after the wider family too, not just the client themselves. I cannot speak highly enough of this place and will be forever grateful for the way they looked after my lovely Grandma in her final days.

The thoughtful gestures of providing prosecco and cake were truly appreciated and contributed greatly to making the occasion feel special. Since Mum moved into Ancatsa Grove in August 2025, we have been made to feel part of a really caring community. From the initial meeting to mum moving in, the staff have been so friendly and caring both towards mum and us as a family. The facilities, rooms, food and drink are all of an excellent standard.

My mother-in-law moved into AG at the end of April 2025 with jaw and mouth cancer. The staff, facilities, activities and ethos are simply superb. The quality of nursing and the links with outside agencies such as palliative care and the local doctors' surgery are fantastic. Issues such as the special
menu provided (pureed) have helped enormously in keeping spirits up. Very important, in understandably difficult circumstances, has been the care and support for my wife and I, as we have visited daily. The carers and nurses know my mother-in-law and my wife and I by name; my mother-in-law looks upon the staff as her friends! Communication has been excellent throughout, with the reception team being pivotal in establishing and maintaining the wonderful ethos.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I have found Ancasta Grove to be a warm, welcoming home. Although I have not experience any other homes for my wife, this being my fortuitous choice, I can not imagine better.
The staff seem imbued with happy dispositions, always greeting us with a smile and a how are you. The grouping of the residents
on different floors seems to be done with care. The ground floor cafe providing a place where interaction can take place.
