I couldn't speak more highly of the Wickets Care Home. From the 1st moment of stepping in, the staff couldnt have been anymore welcoming.
Mum sadly only enjoyed 3 weeks there, but the support, care and love that the team gave to mum and us was 2nd to none. Mum was treated as a lady throughout her time
and us, as children were able to be her children. The care extended to us was exceptional. They made sure we were looked after in the same manner. Always there with coffee and cake and a big hug.
We truly couldn't recommend The Wickets highly enough.
I'll be popping back for coffee and cake and a hug as they'll always be a big part of my life now.
Thank you .

The upstairs lounge needs smartening up, it looks a bit tired.
The grandstand area by the entrance which is used for a lot of functions would benefit from being extended.
Keep up the good work, my mother in law is well looked after, and I regularly tell people when discussing care homes how good
Bourley Grange is. Your staff are also very caring and do a great job.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at Bourley GrangeThank you for your feedback regarding Bourley Grange. Your feedback is imperative to allow Care UK to make improvements where required.
We are so pleased to read that you feel your Mother-in-Law is well cared for and that the staff are caring.
The staff hold themselves to a very high standard and this will be greatly appreciated by them as they continue their hard work.
We are sorry to hear of your thoughts regarding the lounge and grandstand area.
After discussion with the home, it has been advised that they are aware that there are some areas within the home in need of an upgrade and the Home Manager is going to look into this.
Regarding the grandstand area and an extension, please be advised that discussions are already taking place to determine if this is action that can be taken.
Thank you again for your feedback.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My husband stayed at the Wickets for three weeks' respite, whilst I attended family events abroad. Everything about the stay was top notch. The facility, brand new, is beautiful and well-appointed. He said "it's like a luxury hotel with nice people there to help out and keep me safe!" The meals were
delicious and attractively served; cakes and hot drinks were available at all times. My husband enjoyed the activities, the opportunity to chat with staff and other residents and sitting out in the gardens. All questions were answered promptly and fully by staff and management, who were kind, caring, and friendly. Both my husband and I would be very happy to use The Wickets again for future care needs, temporary or longer term.

Dashwood Manor

from Christine L (Daughter of Resident) published on 15 April 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Mum spent her final couple of years being cared for in the dementia wing of Dashwood, and more recently my Dad had a couple of weeks in respite care here after coming out of hospital. I can't praise the home and the amazing staff enough in both scenarios. It is always a pleasure to visit the home
as you truly are treated as family. And the care both my parents received was exactly what both needed. My Mum was always treated with dignity and understanding, and as she would be very anxious when coming out of her room, they made sure she was constantly checked on, and staff would spend time with her. And when the end came, they made everything so lovely and peaceful for her and us, and supported us wonderfully through the difficult time after. So when Dad needed some care after a hospital stay, I was so grateful Dashwood could do this. He was treated like a returning hero and thoroughly enjoyed his time being looked after!
Reply from Leahanne Wilkinson, Reviews Team at Dashwood ManorHello Christine
Thank you for your review. We are so pleased that both your Mum and Dad received the care and support they needed during their time at Dashwood. Providing thoughtful, person-centred care is at the heart of what we do, and it is especially meaningful to hear how this came through in your Mum’s experience. Supporting her with dignity and understanding, particularly when she felt anxious, and making sure she was regularly checked on and gently reassured, is exactly the level of care we strive to provide every day. We are also very glad we could create a calm and peaceful environment for your Mum and your family at such an important time, and offer the support you needed.
It is equally lovely to hear that your Dad’s stay with us after his hospital visit was such a positive one, and that he felt so welcomed and well looked after, we were all excited to see Dad.
Your feedback will be shared with the whole team, thank you again for your kind words and for placing your trust in us, from the whole team at Dashwood Manor.

After visiting a number of local care homes we decided that Dashwood Manor would be the most suitable for mum. We were impressed by the bright, spacious rooms with en-suite facilities and the cheerful and welcoming atmosphere. It did not take long for mum to settle in - she takes full advantage of the
activities available and enjoys chatting to fellow residents and the friendly and caring staff. We are always kept up-to-date on how mum is getting on and what she has been involved with.
Reply from Leahanne Wilkinson, Reviews Team at Dashwood ManorHello

We are delighted that the bright surroundings and welcoming atmosphere made a positive first impression, and even more pleased to hear how quickly your mum has settled in. It is wonderful that she is enjoying the activities and building connections with both residents and the team. I know she is very proud to be the oldest person who has visited the local gym.
Keeping families informed and involved is very important to us, so we are glad you feel well updated on how your mum is getting on and what she has been enjoying.

A high standard of maintenance and cleaning is kept at all times. The food is varied and residents views are taken into account. Staff excell in engaging with the residents and families with wide and varied activities available every day. Families are kept up to date with any health issues and are also

On the initial visit I knew immediately it was the right place for my father. The staff are all fabulous, knowledgeable, friendly and very adept providing the complex care my Dad requires. Best description is a posh hotel for old people. I've eaten there and you can tell the food is all cooked from

My dad has received excellent care at Parker Meadows. He is 87 years old and has Alzheimer's disease. I have always dreaded the day my dad would need to go in to care, however, I am so glad he is now. Parker Meadows is safe and secure and designed as a care home for the elderly. My dad's room is large
with a large ensuite where he can be showered sitting down. The home is always warm and there is always a staff member nearby to ask questions or talk to. My dad has settled in really well there. I can not praise the staff enough for their care of my dad, he is always clean and dressed everyday. There is afternoon activities everyday for the residents and the food is very very good. My dad thinks he is staying in a hotel, that's how good it is. The carers and nurses there are a regular team who I have got to know. Even the managers will stop and talk if they see you, I can not recommend Parker Meadows enough. I have been kept updated regularly with regards to my dad's health.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mum has been at Carpathia Grange since July 2025. As is common, she struggled with the change from living by herself to being in care. Unfortunately with failing health and more regular falls and 999 calls, it became a necessity to have full time care.
From the outset the staff have made her welcome,
I would say it has a family feel between a number of the staff and my mum.
There are daily activities, social events and days out.
They have been able to accommodate a number of her specific needs, both health and personal.
Whilst at Carpathia she unfortunately has had a couple of health issues requiring emergency paramedics and hospitalisation. The staff response was excellent on both occasions and a huge weight of our minds knowing she has 24 hour care from professional staff. Once of these two instances occurred overnight.
What is also been reassuring is the specialist equipment the care home has should an elderly person have a fall or need extra daily assistance.
