Overall Experience

Mum moved into Carpathia in June, and from the moment she arrived we knew she was in the right place. Every member of staff has shown such warmth, kindness and compassion, making Mum and our family feel welcome and supported. The team has taken the time to know Mum, tailoring her care to what makes her happy. We especially appreciate the excellent communication; we feel informed, involved and reassured about Mum's care and wellbeing. Living some distance away, the regular updates and surprise FaceTime calls have meant so much to me, while my sister, who lives locally, really values the ongoing support and reassurance the team provides. When Mum recently needed hospital care, the team acted quickly, kept us informed and supported us throughout. We are so grateful for the outstanding care Mum receives and Carpathia has exceeded every expectation.

Mum moved to Ancasta from another home when she needed nursing care and right away we noticed she was better off. All the staff - in all roles - are excellent both with mum & with family. I'm able to visit any time and always feel welcome. Staff seem to work well together & always supportive would not hesitate to recommend Ancasta to freinds & family. Mum has been at Ancasta for over 3 years.

Overall Experience

Since Dad decided to move to Ancasta Grove in 2024, he has enjoyed the benefits that this excellent care home has to offer. Being built for purpose from a proven and standard design, the rooms and communal areas have plenty of space and allow for easy access and maneuverability. Additionally, all fittings and furniture are modern, well-maintained and clean. Above all, the staff are well-qualified, friendly and have treated my father with dignity and professionalism. In turn, my father reciprocates this congeniality which is generally noticeable in the home. We are very glad Dad is looked after here.

Review of Pear Tree Court from Charles W (Husband of Resident) published on 21 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Before choosing PTC for my wife (dementia for 12 years, and then a stroke) I surveyed many other care homes from Kent to Wiltshire. Our family and I have never regretted choosing PTC. If asked to rate the home over the last 3 years I would award it over 9 out of ten. Our family of 25 souls agree.
It would be difficult to recommend any one of the staff: each one is a carer, including the cleaning staff. That's impressive.

It all stems from the leadership of the manager. Having trained hundreds of leaders I know one when I see one.

Review of Pear Tree Court from Sue S (Daughter of Resident) published on 17 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My mum was in a very confused and distressed state before starting at Pear Tree Court. From the moment Mum arrived I knew that the care would be outstanding. The staff have taken the time to get to know Mum as well as her wider family. She has settled quickly and loves to take part in all the fun and engaging activities. Mum is more talkative and it is joyful to see her regain some of her interests. The staff have quickly made adjustments to her bedroom to aid her mobility and they even found time to position her favourite paintings on the wall. During this heat wave they have been incredibly proactive in ensuring residents her well hydrated, fed and kept cool. The communication between the care home and myself is excellent and I can see how much they care about all their residents when I visit Mum. Thank you Pear Tree Court.

Review of Carpathia Grange from Martin D (Grandson of Resident) published on 14 July 2026 Submitted via Postal Card

Myself & my 2 children have always been welcomed here especially my daughter who is 7yrs old & helped (sorry annoyed) staff in their daily duties. nothing was ever too much & no matter how hard end of life can be every single member of staff always had a smile on their face which makes an upsetting time that little bit easier knowing your not on your own.

Review of The Wickets from Kathryn T (Daughter of Resident) published on 7 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

After viewing seven care homes while searching for the right place for my mother, who has Alzheimer's disease and is physically frail, The Wickets stood out above all the others. I was looking for excellent care, a safe environment and somewhere that felt warm, uplifting and full of life. The Wickets exceeded every expectation. My first conversation with Nikki immediately put me at ease with her friendly, caring manner. On visiting, I was struck by the light, airy surroundings, beautiful lounges reminiscent of a boutique hotel, the charming hair salon and cinema. Most importantly, the care is exceptional. My mother is never left isolated; staff gently encourage residents to join optional activities and are always on hand with kindness and patience. The safety measures also provide great reassurance. Choosing a care home is never easy, but I feel enormous peace of mind knowing my mother is living in such a caring, dignified and happy environment.

Review of Ancasta Grove from Ian C (Son of Resident) published on 6 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Mum was very well cared for during her stay at Ancasta Grove. Her room was a good size, light and airy and benefited from a small private outside seating area. Mum thoroughly enjoyed the various daily activities especially the word games and visits from entertainers.
The organised trips out were much appreciated and gave a welcome change of scene.

All the staff that we met were very friendly and upbeat with a special mention to Emma and Toni on reception who were always very welcoming and gave a very positive first impression.

What a friendly, warm, kind and caring care home. The minute you walk in they are helpful and courteous. Review of The Wickets from J C (Sister of Resident) published on 24 June 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

Following hospital, my elderly brother spent two weeks at The Wickets prior to returning home. Our visiting experience was exceptional, as was the care and attention he received. Our overall impression was of high standards being met - in the quality of staff, accommodation, environment and atmosphere. We were warmly welcomed, offered refreshment and homemade delicacies, then guided to my brother's room (his name on the door) and addressed by first name. The ensuite ground-floor room was spacious, well-appointed, sunny and allowed for some personal items. The bed, by the large window, overlooked garden and patio, giving considerable outside interest. Our feeling was of being in a safe and comfortable community. We noticed residents animatedly enjoying each-others company, happy using available facilities like the cafe, and table settings were nicely laid ready for the next meal. Notices displayed a range of activities being offered daily, encouraging interaction and exercise for those able. Staff sounded happy in their work and everything appeared organized and sparkling clean. Throughout, my brother was treated with respect, a number of health related and eating issues were successfully resolved by the experience staff, and in all, his stay seemed to us to have provided a much needed mental 'pick me up'.

Review of The Wickets from R C (Brother-in-law of Resident) published on 24 June 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

I recently visited my brother in law at The Wickets and was exceedingly impressed by all that I encountered. With being fairly new, the care home is not only modern, but also equipped with all those things that aid quality of life for each resident regardless of their condition, and they are first class. It was a pleasure to speak with some of the staff, who I concluded, had been chosen for their experience, reliability and attention to the individual needs of residents. Overall, a high-quality establishment with a community atmosphere and very caring employees.

Review of The Wickets from D H (Stepdaughter of Resident) published on 17 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My stepfather, S, has recently spent 2 weeks respite at The Wickets. My husband and I really enjoyed our holiday feeling confident through pre-meetings and visits to The Wickets that S would be comfortable and well looked after. Previous respite stays at another well regarded care home had not worked well; he referred to his stay as being 'put in a prison'. He described his experience this time as 'enjoying time at a guest house'. He looks forward to returning later in the year...such a relief for us.

Review of The Wickets from Graham G (Son-in-law of Resident) published on 17 June 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

The Wickets is how care should be carried out, the personal and attentive care is second to none. All the staff were 'extra mile' people, and took time to make sure my farther in law was not only take care off, but was treated with respect. I was blown away by the standard to which The Wickets hold themselves to. It would be hard to critisize anything about them in my opinion. Great job to all staff, from cleaners to chef and the lovely care gives 5*
