Carpathia Grange

The care was outstanding at carpathia grange for our dear mum. Sadly she wasn't there for long but during her stay the staff were so kind, caring and understanding both Fi mum and to me, my sister and family.

I highly recommend the management team and carers staff, who consistently deliver an exceptional service that goes above and beyond expectations. The management team are professional, supportive, responsive, and demonstrate strong leadership, while the carers are compassionate, reliable, respectful, and genuinely committed to the wellbeing of those they support. Their dedication, teamwork, and willingness to go the extra mile make a real difference, and I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home.

Avoid this care home at all costs. They lack empathy and professional competence. My Dad who suffers from advanced dementia was recently evicted from this home in the most callous and appalling way imaginable. After months of accepting thousands of pounds a month from him they washed their hands of him the moment his money ran out. My Dad experienced dementia-fuelled aggressive episodes (dementia is a severe neurological illness,not deliberate bad behaviour) and due to this they decided to simply call an ambulance, send him to hospital entirely alone and abandon him there. Refusing him entry back into their home and using the ambulance call as a way of getting rid of him. It is clear that this institution is willing to only accept residents who's care needs are minimal and highly profitable. They were more than happy to smile and take my Dads life savings until his care required actual effort. Do not send your loved one here if you want them to be looked after and treated with dignity.

If you love your family and close ones DO NOT SEND THEM HERE.The management staff are lowest form of a human being you will see in terms of compassion and empathy towards residents and family.They are happy to take the money from the resident when funds run out they cast them a side like a dog. They literally threw my Father out on the street when he was admitted to A&E and refused to let him back as a resident.All of his clothes and personal possessions were still in the building,We experienced carers sitting in my Dads arm chair and falling asleep on more than one occasion. His clothes belongings and even his teeth.Residents are left calling out for help and left to soil themselves with no assistance.The kitchen/food areas are absolutely filthy. Residents rooms never have any towels, loo roll or soap.The bedding is always dirty&stained. When you raise concerns with the management and in particular the Registered Home Manager who lies through her teeth.

I cannot fault the friendly, professional care given to my Mother-in-law during her year at Carpathia Grange. It really is home from home for the residents and for us as visitors. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Carpathia Grange

Mum has been at Carpathia for 2 yrs now. She has been looked after really well and is perfectly at home here and very relaxed. The home is lovely, fantastic atmosphere, top food and spotlessly clean. Staff are so friendly and efficient - so glad mum is here,

Mum moved into Carpathia in June, and from the moment she arrived we knew she was in the right place. Every member of staff has shown such warmth, kindness and compassion, making Mum and our family feel welcome and supported. The team has taken the time to know Mum, tailoring her care to what makes her happy. We especially appreciate the excellent communication; we feel informed, involved and reassured about Mum's care and wellbeing. Living some distance away, the regular updates and surprise FaceTime calls have meant so much to me, while my sister, who lives locally, really values the ongoing support and reassurance the team provides. When Mum recently needed hospital care, the team acted quickly, kept us informed and supported us throughout. We are so grateful for the outstanding care Mum receives and Carpathia has exceeded every expectation.

Myself & my 2 children have always been welcomed here especially my daughter who is 7yrs old & helped (sorry annoyed) staff in their daily duties. nothing was ever too much & no matter how hard end of life can be every single member of staff always had a smile on their face which makes an upsetting time that little bit easier knowing your not on your own.

What a friendly, warm, kind and caring care home. The minute you walk in they are helpful and courteous. All the staff are so friendly and nothing is to much trouble, I visit on a regular basis and have never had any problems at all. The care is outstanding. The rooms are lovely. Every where is so clean and tidy.

Carpathia is wonderful home

We have been impressed with the care given to our relative. Visiting our relative is made easier because of the wonderful surroundings, on-site facilities (not least the cafe) and the friendliness of the staff.

Staff are very caring and they know the residents very well. Its a very friendly atmosphere,welcoming and family focused. The management team are fantastic. Mum enjoys the food very much and is very happy living here

Carpathia Grange has a lovely 'feel' abotu it as soon as you enter. The Harbour Cafe is bright, clean and inviting with lovely cakes, biscuits and fruit always available to help yourself. The reception staff are always so helpful, friendly and welcoming. The restaurants are lovely and bright and residents' rooms are of a good size and well furnished with very nice spacious ensuites. The gardens are lovely and very safe and easy to walk round for residents. Daily activities are good fro all and great fun too. Regular entertainers are really excellent and fun. The staff are excellent - I have not met any one who has not been kind, pleasant and helpful - it's very difficult to nominate any one person as they are all so lovely. A great deal of work goes into decorating the care home for special annual events. There is a great deal of respect from the staff for all residents and every resident is presented well dressed and spotlessly clean. I am delighted that Mum is so well cared for here at Carpathia Grange with a wonderful team - Thank you.

What is also been reassuring is the specialist equipment the care home has should an elderly person have a fall or need extra daily assistance.

Mum's room is always clean and staff are very attentive, but also extremely friendly and approachable. They all know mum by name and stop to chat with her as she walks around the home. I have no hesitation in recommending Carpathia Grange.

My brother was dying - end of life - The staff went above & beyond to make his last 2 weeks of his life so much easier to understand and cope with. I flew out from Australia arrived exhausted & jet lagged & concerned. Staff not only looked after my brother with dignity and respect and yes love, and allowed me to be with my brother all day. I was treated with courtesy, respect & dignity and supported by all I encountered. I am so impressed by the service in every dept & from everyone I encountered. Well done! My thanks always.

Today I have had a valentine's lunch with my mother at Carpathia. It was arranged by the head chef Sharon with Claire and Megan from the lifestyle team. The lunch was delicious and the room was decorated beautifully. It was a lovely experience and I appreciate the work that went into making it a very special lunch.

I looked at four care homes in person, however I had also read CQC reports for at least another four which did not sound too good. Hampshire recommended several but I was not impressed! Although my father took a while to settle (having been moved around by the NHS) he grew very fond of the carers looking after him. His two & a bit years in Carpathia Grange were happy. I could not fault the service that they provided. It was an excellent choie which suited my fathers needs.

We are so happy with the care and attention my brother receives. It has been a massive change for him and all the staff throughout the home, and has really made him feel welcome and relaxed. We couldn't of asked for more! Thank you.
