Carpathia Grange in Hythe, Southampton is a state-of-the-art, purpose-built care home where everything is designed to enable residents to enjoy a fulfilling lifestyle. other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

Carpathia Grange is friendly and welcoming. The staff are helpful and professional and treat the residents with great respect and attentiveness. The home is warm and very clean, and the staff put on a good range of activities to keep the residents interested, motivated and entertained.

I can't praise Carpathia Grange Care Home enough for the care they have given my nan, with a preconceived idea of a care home being only a waiting room for the inevitable, however, since she has moved in (fifteen months ago) she has a new lease of life. She has a wonderful social life and is making
memories every day as well as the first-class care she receives.

Staff are always friendly. My relative is very happy and sings the praises of all the staff. He enjoys the food and feels he is well looked after. Communication from the home is excellent and there is always someone available to talk to about my father-in-law who seems to know him.

Very pleased with the services provided. Staff worked over and beyond expectations to make my father settle in and feel at home. Fantastic modern facilities with lots of "common" space, giving my father a sense of freedom and belonging. The caring and catering have been second to none. It is always

Carpathia Grange Care Home has a family feel about it and our mother settled in quickly and the family were welcomed in during her time there. My father was able to visit his wife (our mum) every day so saw first-hand how residents interact with the team and enjoyed various activities. Both residents
and staff would chat to my father and he felt part of the team.
Housekeeping is of a high standard and all members of the team from housekeeping, maintenance and catering engage with the residents and family visitors. The chef would talk to the residents about the daily menu, a particular shout out for the outstanding cakes, desserts and patisseries made which our mum thoroughly enjoyed.
The nursing staff were extremely professional and go the extra mile. We felt that the senior management team need to complete more frequent checks to validate tasks are completed to the standard expected. However, the palliative care received by our mum and the care given to the family were outstanding.

Mum needed respite care after a few weeks in hospital. Coordination with the discharge staff was smooth. She has been helped to get back her independence, mobility and confidence so that she is ready to go home soon. She has particularly enjoyed the food choices and the outside space. Staff have made
that little bit of extra effort to make her comfortable and welcome. This made a huge, positive difference.

I find that most of the carers are very considerate. They are always on hand to help you. There are too many that I can say are helpful.
We have a carer from the lifestyle team, he comes in most mornings. He is very kind and thoughtful, he really brightens up the morning. He likes making us coffee
but usually the machine packs up on him, so we all chirp him about that.

My dear mum has been a resident at Carpathia Grange Care Home for over two years and throughout that time has experienced unconditional love and care. Mum can be a little difficult sometimes but she is always treated with the utmost respect and kindness. She has the freedom to do whatever she likes
and is in no way restricted - even if she wants to do some washing up!
Mum is always encouraged to participate in a variety of activities and there is always someone on hand to have a wee chat.
I cannot praise the staff highly enough for their dedication, sense of humour and overall loveliness both towards my mum and to my family.

The staff at Carpathia welcomed my dad into the home with open arms. He was very pleased to be there and said it was fantastic. The rooms are large, clean and welcoming with everything he needed. The staff made his stay as comfortable as possible. Unfortunately, he was seriously ill, but from the start
of his stay to the end of his life, he was very well taken care of. Thank you so much.

After surveying all the available homes in our area for Mum, she chose Carpathia Grange Care Home as the most suitable for her. It being new and purpose-built with nice rooms and very good and caring staff. Mum seems quite settled and well looked after. Room for improvement! There seems to be a lot
of agency staff. While we understand it is necessary to manage the home, consistency would be better for the residents. Also, Mum struggles with the lack of choice to the main menu. There are some very nice gardens, it's a shame they don't get the same level of care and attention as the residents! Overall, full marks must go to all the staff for their dedication and kindness.

Thank you for your review, we are pleased that you feel your mother is well looked after. I am a little surprised with your comment regarding agency staff, as it is very rare to have agency members in our home. However, as you have pointed out, safety is paramount and we are happy to report that we have had a recruitment drive and have new team members on induction now, so there should be minimal agency use going forward. Our chef has regular meetings with residents both in groups and on an individual basis about food choices and we very much include residents when creating the daily menu. We can of course arrange for our head chef to speak with your mother one-to-one to see what she would like on the menu and what we can provide to suit her tastes and appetite better, as food is so important. We will pass on your gardening comments to our external contractors regarding our lovely garden. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we very much appreciate your comments to the team for their dedication and kindness. We moved our mother to Carpathia from another home and can honestly say that it was the best thing we could have done. From the front door through to the bedroom, everything shouts an efficient welcome. The staff are all professional, focused, friendly, supportive and efficient. Visiting is a joy to
find a very relaxed and cared for mum, who talks lots about the lovely staff. Plenty of activities to entertain and excellent food to nourish. Mum has her sparkle back and that is down to Carpathia. Staff motivation and enthusiasm comes from strong and supportive management. This is evident at all levels.

I am extremely impressed every time I visit Carpathia Grange Care Home by firstly the lovely atmosphere, by the reception and administration staff who are friendly, efficient and quick to any and worries or misgivings. Everywhere is immaculate and the decor is beautiful. The residents' rooms are light
and warm with ensuite, beautiful facilities. The carers and nursing staff show respect, kindness and interest in their work. The menu shows amazing choices.

I would like to write about the care, consideration and understanding of Carpathia Grange, in particular the staff member who deals with all the admissions of new guests, who along with the manager reassured me from the very first conversation I had with them. I was in the position of having to relocate
my mother from another care home at very short notice. Right from the start they were sympathetic and exceptionally helpful, with reassurance all the way.
Once we had the lateral flow test, we were able to view the home inside. It is like walking into a 5-star hotel. Every single member of staff I met introduced themselves. Carpathia has a real sense of kindness and warmth from everyone you meet. It was a stressful time moving my mum, who has dementia, but the staff made the whole process very smooth and calm. I have been kept in close contact each day on Mum's progress which is very kind. I would thoroughly recommend Carpathia Grange.

We have a terrific team at Carpathia Grange. I started working here in 2020 and have progressed from Team Leader to Unit Manager, Deputy Manager, and Home Manager.


We all work incredibly hard, and I am proud of what we have achieved. So far, we have received gold standard framework accreditation, which shows that we consistently deliver high-quality end-of-life care when needed.


We have also achieved VIPS accreditation, which focuses on high-quality person-centred care for residents living with dementia. Both demonstrate our commitment to residents, ensuring we make a real difference to those we support.


As a Home Manager, it’s important to have good communication skills, be transparent and have a vision for high standards. As a leader, you also need to be positive and approachable; it is my role to provide help and support to colleagues as well as residents.


My favourite part of working here is ensuring all residents enjoy being at Carpathia Grange. We create happy memories and actively nurture healthy lifestyles. Seeing smiles on the lovely faces of residents makes me smile too. I feel privileged to be able to make such a positive difference in people’s lives.


Outside of work, I love a spa day to unwind and relax. I also enjoy spending time with my family.
