Everybody is friendly, and if you as for help, they are always there for you to discuss any concerns. I still enjoy the crafting sessions, which I have done all my life.
My visitors are always welcome in the cafe to have a coffee and cake. Everyone is helpful, and I feel safe, and if any of my friends
were looking for a care home, I would invite them to have a look, look at the facilities and see my room.

What a lovely place - more like a five-star hotel with extremely caring and competent staff. My mum is in Carpathia Grange and it is now a pleasure to visit her without any worries. I don’t have to help with care or sort out problems with the house or pay her phone bills, electric bills etc. I can spend
real quality with my mum knowing that everything is taken care of. She participates in lots of activities and I am secure in the knowledge that my mum is being well cared for with respect and dignity.

We have been extremely happy with the care and support from the nurses and staff from day one. Always professional and helpful and have ensured we are always kept informed of his progress. It also has a lovely homely and friendly atmosphere. A special shout out to one staff member who has been more
than helpful and very much appreciated.

Mum has settled in well. The office staff have been brilliant, always ready to explain everything. The care staff are very supportive, Mum enjoys the activities when she can, she especially liked the pets visiting and got to hold the Guinea pig.

Overall, a nice home and my mum seems to enjoy her time there. Friendly with good facilities and activities in a nice location. The food menu is very good, and the whole home is spotlessly clean and very welcoming.

This is easy. We could not have found a better home for mum in this area.
We had the usual problems when she first got there, but with patience and care from the staff, she settled in. The staff are amazing (take my hat off to them) I get phone calls when there has been any sort of incident, which
we expect given her age of 97 which puts our minds at rest of the care and attention she gets. The 'hotel' as we the family call it, is just that, clean, tidy, full facilities, organised. plenty to do when visiting.
Gardens are perfect, plus the food is good. Perfect location, a short walk or push in mum's case to Hythe with its lovely seaside settings. Mum loves it. there are three chip shops, have sampled them all whilst watching the ships coming and going. then back for tea and biscuits in the cafe, if I had one thing to pick on the downside, it would be the parking facility, again the reception staff are good, let them know you blocked someone in, no problem.
We, the family would totally recommend it.

I can't praise Carpathia Grange Care Home enough for the care they have given my nan, with a preconceived idea of a care home being only a waiting room for the inevitable, however, since she has moved in (fifteen months ago) she has a new lease of life. She has a wonderful social life and is making
memories every day as well as the first-class care she receives.

Staff are always friendly. My relative is very happy and sings the praises of all the staff. He enjoys the food and feels he is well looked after. Communication from the home is excellent and there is always someone available to talk to about my father-in-law who seems to know him.

Very pleased with the services provided. Staff worked over and beyond expectations to make my father settle in and feel at home. Fantastic modern facilities with lots of "common" space, giving my father a sense of freedom and belonging. The caring and catering have been second to none. It is always
a pleasant and friendly experience when going to visit. A big thank you to all the staff.

Carpathia Grange Care Home has a family feel about it and our mother settled in quickly and the family were welcomed in during her time there. My father was able to visit his wife (our mum) every day so saw first-hand how residents interact with the team and enjoyed various activities. Both residents
and staff would chat to my father and he felt part of the team.
Housekeeping is of a high standard and all members of the team from housekeeping, maintenance and catering engage with the residents and family visitors. The chef would talk to the residents about the daily menu, a particular shout out for the outstanding cakes, desserts and patisseries made which our mum thoroughly enjoyed.
The nursing staff were extremely professional and go the extra mile. We felt that the senior management team need to complete more frequent checks to validate tasks are completed to the standard expected. However, the palliative care received by our mum and the care given to the family were outstanding.

Mum needed respite care after a few weeks in hospital. Coordination with the discharge staff was smooth. She has been helped to get back her independence, mobility and confidence so that she is ready to go home soon. She has particularly enjoyed the food choices and the outside space. Staff have made
that little bit of extra effort to make her comfortable and welcome. This made a huge, positive difference.

I find that most of the carers are very considerate. They are always on hand to help you. There are too many that I can say are helpful.
We have a carer from the lifestyle team, he comes in most mornings. He is very kind and thoughtful, he really brightens up the morning. He likes making us coffee
but usually the machine packs up on him, so we all chirp him about that.

My dear mum has been a resident at Carpathia Grange Care Home for over two years and throughout that time has experienced unconditional love and care. Mum can be a little difficult sometimes but she is always treated with the utmost respect and kindness. She has the freedom to do whatever she likes
and is in no way restricted - even if she wants to do some washing up!
Mum is always encouraged to participate in a variety of activities and there is always someone on hand to have a wee chat.
I cannot praise the staff highly enough for their dedication, sense of humour and overall loveliness both towards my mum and to my family.

All the staff couldn't have done more to make my mother-in-law feel more welcome and looked after. Also, we as her family were reassured and updated on how Mum was getting on the whole time. Such a lovely relaxed homely feel as you walked around and Mum loved the food and getting involved in a lot
of the activities... even started knitting!

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.936)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.936) out of 10 for Carpathia Grange is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 29 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.936 for Carpathia Grange is calculated as follows: ( (322 Excellents x 5) + (22 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 344 Ratings = 4.936
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Carpathia Grange is based on 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 62 registered maximum number of service users is 12.4, which has been reached with 29 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2025

We have a terrific team at Carpathia Grange. I started working here in 2020 and have progressed from Team Leader to Unit Manager, Deputy Manager, and Home Manager.

We all work incredibly hard, and I am proud of what we have achieved. So far, we have received gold standard framework accreditation, which shows that we consistently deliver high-quality end-of-life care when needed.

We have also achieved VIPS accreditation, which focuses on high-quality person-centred care for residents living with dementia. Both demonstrate our commitment to residents, ensuring we make a real difference to those we support.

As a Home Manager, it’s important to have good communication skills, be transparent and have a vision for high standards. As a leader, you also need to be positive and approachable; it is my role to provide help and support to colleagues as well as residents.

My favourite part of working here is ensuring all residents enjoy being at Carpathia Grange. We create happy memories and actively nurture healthy lifestyles. Seeing smiles on the lovely faces of residents makes me smile too. I feel privileged to be able to make such a positive difference in people’s lives.

Outside of work, I love a spa day to unwind and relax. I also enjoy spending time with my family.
