My visit to Carpathia.
I was met with warm welcoming smiles from every member of staff, who all took time to stamp and say a hello as they went about their duties.
The feeling in Carpathia is of complete calmness. It really dies feel like a home from home .
The care is delivered with such thought
and professionalism, whilst maintaining a personal touch .
Plenty of community activities so residents are enjoying socialising .

Before choosing Carpathia Grange, we viewed a number of care homes. Carpathia stood out because of its bright and airy feel and in the informative welcome we received. The care manager was exceptionally helpful and inspired confidence.
We were given a detailed tour of the property. What impressed
us included: the inviting reception area with a cafe / meeting area for residents and visitors; modern, purpose built home; cleanliness (the place always smells fresh): size and layout of resident's rooms; the dining rooms and lounge facilities. Having a dedicated bus for taking residents on trips is a bonus.
We have been impressed with the care given to our relative. Visiting our relative is made easier because of the wonderful surroundings, on-site facilities (not least the cafe) and the friendliness of the staff.

Staff are very caring and they know the residents very well. Its a very friendly atmosphere,welcoming and family focused. The management team are fantastic. Mum enjoys the food very much and is very happy living here

Carpathia Grange has a lovely 'feel' abotu it as soon as you enter. The Harbour Cafe is bright, clean and inviting with lovely cakes, biscuits and fruit always available to help yourself. The reception staff are always so helpful, friendly and welcoming. The restaurants are lovely and bright and
residents' rooms are of a good size and well furnished with very nice spacious ensuites. The gardens are lovely and very safe and easy to walk round for residents. Daily activities are good fro all and great fun too. Regular entertainers are really excellent and fun. The staff are excellent - I have not met any one who has not been kind, pleasant and helpful - it's very difficult to nominate any one person as they are all so lovely. A great deal of work goes into decorating the care home for special annual events. There is a great deal of respect from the staff for all residents and every resident is presented well dressed and spotlessly clean. I am delighted that Mum is so well cared for here at Carpathia Grange with a wonderful team - Thank you.

Mum has been a resident for nearly 3 years. She has received excellent care and always been treated kindly with respect.
This month the staff have helped mum attend my daughter's wedding. I would not have been able to arrange and help her come to the wedding without Carpathia's team help. They
made sure she was well looked after during the whole event. We were all so pleased she could come and enjoy the wedding with all her family.

My mum has been at Carpathia Grange since July 2025. As is common, she struggled with the change from living by herself to being in care. Unfortunately with failing health and more regular falls and 999 calls, it became a necessity to have full time care.
From the outset the staff have made her
welcome, I would say it has a family feel between a number of the staff and my mum.
There are daily activities, social events and days out.
They have been able to accommodate a number of her specific needs, both health and personal.
Whilst at Carpathia she unfortunately has had a couple of health issues requiring emergency paramedics and hospitalisation. The staff response was excellent on both occasions and a huge weight of our minds knowing she has 24 hour care from professional staff. Once of these two instances occurred overnight.
What is also been reassuring is the specialist equipment the care home has should an elderly person have a fall or need extra daily assistance.

As family we are reassured that mum is safe and well cared for. The home is always clean and very welcoming, with many events arranged to include relatives alongside the residents.
Mum recently had a make a wish day, which involved a visit by a puppywalker from Guide Dogs along with a dog. Mum
used to be puppywalker herself and loved to hear about how things have changed and giving the pup lots of attention. This was organised by the Lifestyle Team and was organised soley for Mum, she had the best time.
When Mum was recently unwell, staff were very proactive in arranging medication and keeping family updated on her condition. Staff also arranged for me to have lunch with mum so that I could spend more time with her.
Mum's room is always clean and staff are very attentive, but also extremely friendly and approachable. They all know mum by name and stop to chat with her as she walks around the home. I have no hesitation in recommending Carpathia Grange.

My brother was dying - end of life - The staff went above & beyond to make his last 2 weeks of his life so much easier to understand and cope with. I flew out from Australia arrived exhausted & jet lagged & concerned. Staff not only looked after my brother with dignity and respect and yes love, and
allowed me to be with my brother all day. I was treated with courtesy, respect & dignity and supported by all I encountered. I am so impressed by the service in every dept & from everyone I encountered. Well done! My thanks always.

Today I have had a valentine's lunch with my mother at Carpathia. It was arranged by the head chef Sharon with Claire and Megan from the lifestyle team. The lunch was delicious and the room was decorated beautifully. It was a lovely experience and I appreciate the work that went into making it a
very special lunch.

I looked at four care homes in person, however I had also read CQC reports for at least another four which did not sound too good. Hampshire recommended several but I was not impressed! Although my father took a while to settle (having been moved around by the NHS) he grew very fond of the carers
looking after him. His two & a bit years in Carpathia Grange were happy. I could not fault the service that they provided. It was an excellent choie which suited my fathers needs.

We are so happy with the care and attention my brother receives. It has been a massive change for him and all the staff throughout the home, and has really made him feel welcome and relaxed. We couldn't of asked for more! Thank you.

After 2 years in Carpathia Grange my Mum has just passed away. Mum increasingly suffered with dementia during this period and I cannot praise sufficiently the staff at Carpathia Grange for their patience and support in her decline. I saw genuine care, concern and dignity from all of the team who
had clearly built meaningful relationships with her. Carpathia Grange made every effort to meet both our expectations and Mums needs whilst she was in their care and her end of life experience was a gentle as these things can be.
The whole team from management, clinical, maintenance, catering, house keeping at Carpathia are excellent, motivated, caring, professionals who will give your family member a positive experience when they need support in later life. I would like to thank all of you.

Staff are warm, friendly and welcoming. I am kept informed on Mum's welfare. Lovely touches like the coffee shop/cafe, the possibility for me to join Mum for lunch. I am very happy with Carpathia - I know Mum is safe and well looked after which is a re-assurance as I live abroad.

The summer party was really enjoyable and thoroughly enjoyed the singer and food. My Father really enjoyed it too. It was well organised and good fun - thank you to the staff for making it a such a success

I attended Carpathia Grange's Summer Party last Saturday with my husband and spent a lovely few hours with my Mum in the garden. The weather was good, not too hot, and therefore the event was held totally outside. The food was very good and plentiful whilst being very varied to suit all tastes and
dietary requirements.
All the team worked extremely hard to provide an enjoyable occasion for everyone, nothing was too much trouble and many staff had given their own time to assist their colleagues with the residents and visitors. The entertainment was good and the music tailored to the audience.
Although I do not live locally, I always try to attend social occasions with my Mum at Carpathia Grange as they are always fun occasions and also provide the chance for residents' family members to meet each other outside the indoor environment of the home.

Excellent care home , cannot recommend enough, so many lovely facilities for the residents to enjoy . All their needs are catered for. The home has a welcoming family atmosphere every body given a friendly welcome. Lots of enriching activities.

Outstanding, I cannot praise all the staff at Carpathia Grange enough. From the time you walk through the door you are greeted by such friendly & welcoming staff. The support I was initially given from the home manager & admin staff when I was first looking for a care home to move my mum to was
incredible. All this support reflects in the way the home is run, everyone seems so happy & positive to be working together as a team to care for all the residents. It is always such a pleasure to visit, there are so many lovely places to sit within the home & a beautiful garden. The rooms are always kept clean. The food is outstanding with so much choice & the lifestyle team are just great. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone looking to move here enough.

Our father spent two months in residence at Carpathia Grange before sadly passing away.
Ge was the happiest we had seen him for a while and really enjoyed all the activities laid on by the staff, especially those involving singing!
We would like to thank all the staff for the care and support
given to our father, and for making his stay so happy and enjoyable.
We would also like to thank all for making his family and friends feel so very welcome when visiting.

My mother, on leaving the hospital, took advantage of the 3 for 2 week respite care offer - she was not disappointed, so much so that she signed up for a further 4 week period.

My friend and employer stayed at Carpathia for respite care. She absolutely loved her time here. The staff were outstanding & attentive. When we arrived we were greeted by so many people from manager to kitchen staff and felt so welcomed. The bedroom was spacious for the wheelchair and the whole
home was comforting and clean. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her pamper day!!! Hair facial etc. The choice of food was amazing and being a vegetarian very well catered for. Nothing was a problem and communication skills were amazing! Overall after staying elsewhere she is very happy and excited to return for another stay! She was telling everyone as she left she'd be back! Thank you Carpathia staff for a very relaxing and lovely time in your care home for my friend and employer. She was very happy with your services
