Carpathia Grange in Hythe, Southampton is a state-of-the-art, purpose-built care home where everything is designed to enable residents to enjoy a fulfilling lifestyle. Fees are subject to a pre-admission needs assessment which is required to fully understand the level
of care and support required by each individual. Premium rooms normally require an additional charge.

other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

I have nothing but praise for Carpathia Grange. I didn't know how to proceed about getting respite care for my Mother, everything was explained to me, and help was given when I wasn't sure. The customer relations manager even helped me with social services and got the ball rolling. She went above and
beyond. The staff are the friendliest, happiest people ever and nothing is too much trouble. They are so busy but always have time to help anyone. I wouldn't have any doubt in her going back there or recommending them.

The care given at Carpathia Grange is outstanding. The staff are extremely helpful, caring, and respectful towards everyone, residents and family members. I have worked in care for many years myself and I have to say Carpathia Grange is by far the best I've come across and I would highly recommend it.
I feel my mum is cared for to a high standard which gives our family peace of mind.

My mum went into Carpathia Grange approximately 6 months ago, the standard of care has been excellent, the staff have been very supportive, and helpful in getting her settled. In addition, the level of communication is very good, helping/ explaining DOL process, support in applying for attendance allowance,
and also just generally keeping us informed of how she is coping.

Sadly I lost my dad this month and just wanted to let everyone know about the care/support Dad and we received from all the staff at Carpathia Grange.
From start to finish all the staff have been outstanding in their care and support and even though Dad was unable to participate in some activities
the staff made sure he was occupied and stimulated in some way (he loved the Mobil music/activities TV screen) also loved visiting the garden and listening to the birds.
Dad always spoke of their excellent care and thoughtfulness throughout his time in Carpathia.
I personally would like to thank all the team in Carpathia for helping me through his final days and hours, you made this sad time much more bearable.

I would recommend Carpathia Grange to anyone with elderly relatives who need that extra care with all staff genuinely concerned with their patients' well-being whatever their complex needs may be there seems to be something to help and keep their residents stimulated and comforted. During my father-in-law's
stay he was treated with all the dignity and respect we all desire for our loved ones. I was truly impressed with the way we were welcomed and kept informed every step of the way until he sadly passed and how truly professional and helpful everyone is. My sincere thanks and gratitude go to everyone.

Surroundings are perfect. Excellent staff and carers. Had a lovely day on my birthday recently and a delicious cake provided to include residents nad friends. Food could do with some thought.

The admissions manager was very patient with us as we tried to get the mum-in-law into agreeing to move to Carpathia. My mum had a fall and broke her hip in November 2023, she spent three weeks in hospital after developing pneumonia too. She had to have respite care at Carpathia Grange because she wouldn't have managed at home. She was well fed and cared for and the staff were all lovely.

My Mum is a resident of this care home, she suffers from dementia, she is generally happy and says that she likes it at the home, however as a relative I cannot say the same, since moving into the home in the summer of 2023 I have not been very impressed with the level of care provided for £6k + per
month, we have encountered lost and mislaid jewellery, Mum wearing other residents clothes, looking dishevelled, lack of personal hygiene, recently turned up and the clothes Mum is wearing are soaked in urine, raised concerns with Carpathia’s management but nothing changes, all for £1500+ per week, looks great from the outside and decor etc, but not too sure what is happening regards to the management of the home.

Our management team are continuously working with all departments to ensure that residents are settled and well cared for in every aspect. We would be grateful if you could please get in touch to confirm who you spoke to in management about your concern over the weekend, as we do not seem to have any correspondence about this until Monday morning when one of your family members contacted the home manager and shared the concerns. As explained in our last meeting, your mum's care needs are extremely complex, and the team are continually trying their best to assist without causing distress. As you can imagine, dementia care is often complex and the team endeavour to do the best for Mum by balancing both her physical and emotional care needs. We are more than happy to meet with you to discuss this in more detail.

Residents with dementia will at times mislay items and we work towards minimising this as much as possible. There are times that residents do not have adequate supplies of clothing or have accidents and there is a need to use spare clothing we have in the home for such eventualities (not other residents). Management have met with you previously and have always listened to your concerns. We would like to invite you to meet in person to go through your concerns thoroughly.

My dad was initially admitted to Carpathia for respite, which has since become permanent. We felt lucky to get a room for him as it was an emergency situation and we knew we wanted him to be here as they took such excellent care of my mum when she needed it. The team couldn’t have been more welcoming
and helpful with the logistics and everything involved in the move. The staff are really lovely - cheerful, welcoming, caring and understanding to both my dad and the family. I feel that everyone is very approachable. I can call with any issues and they are resolved immediately. They also keep me updated on any changes to my dad’s circumstances. It is such a relief that he is being kept as safe as possible, that all his meds are updated appropriately and administered regularly and that he is getting a well-balanced diet. He has improved already. The surroundings are bright, clean and cheerful and it’s always lovely to visit as everyone is so welcoming.

My father has dementia and has been living in Carpathia now for over a year, and is quite happy there. As it’s a purpose-built care home the layout is well thought out and the rooms and decor make it a nice place to stay. The staff are very welcoming and do a fantastic job caring for all the residents.
They try hard to keep the residents entertained and happy on a daily basis. The food is great and good choices every day, I know my father loves it. The managers and office staff are very knowledgeable and helped me a lot when my father first came to stay. We have thought of Carpathia for some time now as visiting dad at his home.

I visited Carpathia Grange on Thursday 26th and Friday 27th October 2023. The staff were all very welcoming and the lunch we had on the Thursday was lovely.
I found my friend to be happy and in good spirits and she has everything she needs. I gave a couple of items to reception for her name to be
put on them and the receptionist said she would make sure it was done. All in all, a very pleasant visit.

From our initial visit, through to Dad’s welcome at Carpathia Grange and ongoing care, support from all team members has been absolutely outstanding. The rooms and facilities are exceptional with plenty of space, always clean and tidy and variety of food options available at all meals – the café with
daily treats and lovely coffee is a great location for residents and visitors. We recently celebrated Dad’s birthday and the team arranged a private lounge, fully decorated with balloons and streamers, bluetooth speaker and the most incredible chocolate cake – Dad and the whole family had a wonderful afternoon. We cannot thank you enough for helping us all through the transition and for looking after Dad (Mum and the whole family) so well.

My brother has settled in better than I thought, they tell me of any changes in his needs and routines. We are always welcomed with a nice hello when we arrive and nothing is too much trouble, if we have any issue they deal with it right away.

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 62 registered maximum number of service users is 12.4, which has been reached with 36 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2025

We have a terrific team at Carpathia Grange. I started working here in 2020 and have progressed from Team Leader to Unit Manager, Deputy Manager, and Home Manager.


We all work incredibly hard, and I am proud of what we have achieved. So far, we have received gold standard framework accreditation, which shows that we consistently deliver high-quality end-of-life care when needed.


We have also achieved VIPS accreditation, which focuses on high-quality person-centred care for residents living with dementia. Both demonstrate our commitment to residents, ensuring we make a real difference to those we support.


As a Home Manager, it’s important to have good communication skills, be transparent and have a vision for high standards. As a leader, you also need to be positive and approachable; it is my role to provide help and support to colleagues as well as residents.


My favourite part of working here is ensuring all residents enjoy being at Carpathia Grange. We create happy memories and actively nurture healthy lifestyles. Seeing smiles on the lovely faces of residents makes me smile too. I feel privileged to be able to make such a positive difference in people’s lives.


Outside of work, I love a spa day to unwind and relax. I also enjoy spending time with my family.
