Stowford House is clean, light and well maintained. The staff are generally friendly and caring and both staff and management have been stable for several years. Their approach is flexible- focused on the residents, for example my parents were served their meals in the lounge. Now my father is very
independent, and everyone has done their best to adapt to his wishes. The facilities are good- generous sized light rooms. Room to sit in outside or their own room. The food is great, home cooked and plenty of it!

We are very grateful for the care my mother receives at Whythan House. The care home manager is brilliant, always supportive and genuinely caring. She has helped with everything from reassuring my mum when she struggled to sleep in her bed at night to guiding us through the process of securing additional
care. My mum's dedicated nurse is exceptional, as are all the nurses and carers. Mum's nurse knows Mum was well and consistently goes above and beyond to ensure Mum is safe, comfortable and well looked after. The care home keeps the family informed. Most importantly, my mum is happy, settled and treated with dignity and respect. As a family that gives us real peace of mind. Thank you for all your care and support.

My relative can not tell us what is happening - but I can see that she feels settled and staff are very warm and caring with her. There are regular in-home activities and good engagement with residents' relatives (regular relatives' meetings are very useful as are care plan reviews). I will always feel
hyper-vigilant and protective of my very vulnerable sister, but her named nurse is remarkable - and addresses any concerns we have swiftly, without being defensive, and it feels like we are on the same team to support my sister. I am also pleased with the sensitive and direct way in which forward planning is considered around potential problems, medical emergencies or future end of life care needs.
Reply from Stuart Lamacraft, Reviews Team at Wytham HouseThank you for your thoughtful and heartfelt feedback. We understand how important reassurance, communication and trust are, and we're so pleased to hear that your sister feels settled and cared for by the team. Your kind words about the support from her named nurse and the collaborative approach to her care mean a great deal to us. We truly appreciate your trust in us to support your sister with compassion, dignity and sensitivity.

From the moment I met Tamina, Sue and Kayleigh. I knew we were at the right place. Their knowledge and clear, calm approach and out problems with mum were sorted out quickly and efficiently.
Sue was able to get mum discharged from hospital and at Abbeycrest within a day of me speaking to her and it
was such a relief to have someone to help. The team continue to help and mum is so much stronger. I couldn't praise them all highly enough.
Reply from Stuart Lamacraft, Reviews Team at AbbeycrestThank you for your lovely feedback. We're delighted to hear that Tamina, Sue and Kayleigh were able to provide such reassurance and support during what can be a very difficult time. It's wonderful to know your mum is settling well and growing stronger, and your kind words will mean so much to the whole team at Abbeycrest.

Our mother moved directly from hospital to Abbeycrest, Sue the manager, visited her beforehand and made the whole process seamless and compassionate. She is so supportive, Tamena has also been very helpful and talked me through the care home system.
More latterly, both Sue and Tamena have been extremely
helpful in explaining local authority care home funding and payments.
Additionally, all the nursing and caring staff have been absolutely marvelous and my mother feels safe and secure at Abbeycrest.
Lastly, Kayleigh on reception is always a breath of fresh air and is always keen to help.
Reply from Stuart Lamacraft, Reviews Team at AbbeycrestThank you for your wonderful feedback. We're so pleased that Sue, Tamena and the wider team were able to support you and your mother with compassion, reassurance and guidance throughout the process. Your kind words about our nursing and care staff, along with Kayleigh on reception, are truly appreciated, and we're delighted your mother feels safe and secure at Abbeycrest.

My husband was in hospital for twenty one days in a ward which was quite noisy and little privacy, but the nurses were amazing and I was relieved and overjoyed when I met a lovely lady, Sue, who told me about Abbeycrest, where my husband would be quite welcome and very well looked after with his own
private room and bathroom. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, and nothing too much trouble, and it's set in glorious surroundings. Amazing really that our eldest daughter, Abby, only lives 4 mins away and her husband's parents 30 seconds away. We went there Christmas Day!

Fantastic warm friendly environment is the first thing that strikes you when visiting Charlton Lodge.
All the staff I have met have an upbeat approach and the sort of work ethic that can only be commended where nothing is too much trouble.
I have seen first hand how engaging they all are with all
their residents, seamlessly conversing whilst they go about their daily duties in what is no doubt a very testing occupation with a great deal of responsibility.
There is an ethic of inclusion for all ,in the numerous variety of activities they host for all their residents.
Personally my father has a new lease of life and is embracing the vast majority of the varied activities that they meticulously plan , instigate and manage . He seems to particularly like the field trips which are varied and stimulating for him.
I would go as far as to say in my fathers case it is easy to see that the level of stimulation is having the affect of stemming the rate of decline with his illness.
Reply from Mark Young, Reviews Team at Charlton LodgeHi Kevin L, thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback about your experience, we are so pleased to hear your wonderful comments about our home and it's lovely to see how quick and easily your dad has settled with us - we know it wasn't an easy decision for you to have to make. Honestly feel they all do an excellent job in difficult circumstances. From the receptionists and cleaners and maintenance staff. Through the carers and nurses and the managers. All work hard, create a warm and friendly atmosphere.
One suggestion I would have us for there to be more activities that
focus on movement, exercise and strength for the residents. I feel it would help all who do it physically and mentally.
Reply from Stuart Lamacraft, Reviews Team at AbbeycrestThank you for your thoughtful feedback. We truly appreciate your kind words about the whole team and the warm atmosphere they work hard to create every day. We also value your suggestion regarding more movement and exercise-based activities and will take this on board as we continue to enhance our wellbeing programme for residents.

My wife went into Millers Grange Care Home in Witney in December 2025 for a period of Respite Care, and when I came out of hospital after a knee replacement it became obvious that I woudl be unable to care for her at home due to her dementia. The family had a meeting with the care home manager who was
very understanding of the situation and we decided to accept the offer of permanent care.
My wife has a lovely room on the 'sunny side' overlooking the front of the building. It's very well equipped and we were able to take a lot of her personal things into the home including her CD player. The care is extremely good with lovely carers who go out of their way to ensure the residents are kept well and happy. The family are able to visit 24/7 and there is always a warm welcome to those visiting from the staff.
Reply from Dione Beecham, Reviews Team at Millers GrangeThank you for taking the time to share your experience and for your kind comments about the team and the home. It means a great deal to know that you feel comfortable visiting at any time. Your feedback is truly appreciated and will be shared with the whole team.

Mum has been living at Cuttlebrook Hall for a few months now and is extremely happy and settled. The home, its facilities and grounds are excellent but above all, it's the staff who make the place. They are all so incredibly kind and caring which results in a relaxed but nurturing atmosphere. Everyone
is treated with dignity and respect and I feel as though our family has become part of this community, not just my mum.

My brother is in full time care at Abbeycrest. He has settled well with the time, care, and support of all the staff. They have all listened to me understand his needs and always keep me updated on him. I could ask for no more at all times. I feel my brother is safe and well cared for. The staff go
out of their way to support him in his needs, always chatting to him and getting him to activities he wishes to do. Thank you to all the staff.

We moved Mum to Highmarket House earlier this year. From the moment we viewed the home, we knew it had so much to offer. The staff were very welcoming and understanding, and are doing everything they can to support us and Mum as she adjusts to her new life. At Highmarket House it wasn't a case of 'if
they could take her' but where they would place her to best meet her needs. It's so reassuring to know that she will receive the best care 24/7 from the wonderful teams of carers, nurses, housekeepers and entertainment staff, thereby enabling us and her to relax more and enjoy the next chapter in her life. The coffee shop on the ground floor with its freshly baked cakes and snacks is a huge hit with Mum, as is the garden with its various outdoor seating areas and plants. The home's proximity to the town means that we can walk over to the many cafes and shops, or enjoy a stroll in People's Park, which the residents' lounges and dining rooms overlook. All in all, an excellent choice.
