Review of Tall Trees Glade from S G (Daughter of Resident) published on 28 August 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

The change in my Mothers demeanour, appearance and acceptance of care is immense! She consistantly mentions how happy she is with the level of care and patience she receives from all the staff. She enjoys the activities and stimulation and it shows in her willingness to participate and join everyone for meals. I leave her at the end of my visit knowing in my heart that we've chosen the right home for her.

Sunday lunch - Delicious. Roast lamb - tender & plenty of it. Roast parsnip/ roast potatoes - Perfect. Mash potato good. Carrot - cooked perfectly. Hot gravy. Mint sauce. The meal could have been served a little hotter.
Sticky toffee Pudding was delicious. Generous portion served with custard, if you wanted it.

Staff were friendly, extremely helpful. Couldn't do enough to help us.

Review of Seccombe Court from K B (Daughter of Resident) published on 27 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Seccombe Court was an exceptional experience for us, Dad was only there for a short while towards the end of an aggressive battle with cancer. The compassion and care that all staff demonstrated to Dad during those last few weeks was incredible, their ability to get to know him and his needs very quickly during a hard time was so appreciated. Dad had lost the ability to speak so the care teams adaptability around his communication needs was second to none, their gentle care at times went things were very tough for Dad was especially kind and went a long way to making him comfortable.

I will never be able to thank Seccombe Court enough for what they did not just for Dad but for the family, as well as making sure Dad had the dignity and support in his final weeks they also made me feel part of the family which made such a difference when you are caring for someone on end of life care. A wonderful home and fantastic experience

My mum has been at Acacia Lodge now for 9 months. It is so lovely how Mum is so relaxed & happy. The management & staff are extremely friendly & welcoming.

Mum is enjoying all the fabulous activities, the attention she gets from all the lovely staff who cannot do enough for her & loving the food. I can honestly say I would not be happier the way everyone looks after Mum, this home is fantastic & so clean to. Would highly recommend.

Review of Millers Grange from Jenni E (Ex Family Member) published on 26 August 2026 Submitted via Website

I have never ever been in a more welcoming, lively and organized Care home in my 59 years of life! The staff cannot do enough for us as visitors, the residents, or indeed each other as staff members.
The facility itself is immaculately clean, organized and beautifully decorated.
We have been able to join in lunches with our loved one which makes our visit even more fun and interactive.
We appreciate how difficult it is to keep up with cleanliness and organization in care facilities and we are VERY impressed.

Thank you so much Miller's Grange for taking care of my son's grandmother so well!

Review of Abbeycrest from S S (Relative of Resident) published on 25 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Astonishingly bad food, we went for a Sunday Lunch with the resident ( a family member); it was inedible.

After our family member felt unwell , I passed by to check up on him; imagine my distress finding him fully clothed in 32 degrees with a tiny window open, no cold water to drink. Mildly confused dementia patients deserve better care at these prices.

The 'garden' is one bench in front of a dirty bird cage.

Although we had spent an hour filling in a details form before arriving for respite, the staff still referred to visitors as his 'children'' ; astonishing to see they hadn't read the information as the resident has no children of his own; adding insult to injury.

My sister-in-law moved into this care home 8 weeks ago. The staff ensured she settled in well and explained everything well to her husband & myself. Very friendly and welcoming during a traumatic time. All the staff very professional. All care provided is excellent.
Thank you to the manager and all the staff. Very impressed that the manager came to visit my sister-in-law's husband at home to assess care needs and introduce care home.

Thank you.

Review of Charlton Lodge from Catherine B (Daughter of Resident) published on 19 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
We hadn't expected to need a Care Home and had memories of visiting grandparents in old buildings smelling of cabbages and worse! Not Charlton Lodge - it is beautiful, more like a hotel. The staff are all wonderful and so helpful.
The building has been purpose built and a great deal of thought has gone into what the residents need, from easy access and spacious rooms to twinkly lights over the bath. Even the food is good, with proper table linen.
Our Mum arrived a shell of herself but with the care and attention of Charlton Lodge staff she is thriving. There is always something going on be it armchair exercise or a garden party.

We are seriously considering moving in ourselves for some TLC.

Review of Millers Grange from S T (Daughter of Resident) published on 19 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mum has been a resident for 18 months now. It was a very tricky start but the staff were amazing in helping her to settle in and gradually feel happy about where she was. For the family we are very happy that she is well looked after so we don't have to worry about her. Lots of very kind and caring staff.

As a visitor I am always made welcome and usually an update on mum. As it's fairly small everyone knows everyone which is very comforting. I would certainly recommend to anyone looking for care for a loved one.

Review of Huntercombe Hall from Catharine W (Daughter of Resident) published on 18 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Huntercombe Hall is mum's home. The personalised care and energy and effort made to provide a good life is a consistent feature of mum's experience and we always feel welcome when we visit. The home is really well run and the team work together day-in and day-out to do their best for the residents. There is a strong community spirit which means that staff go the extra mile - most recently witnessed at the fabulous summer fete. I know mum is getting the best possible care and loads of opportunities to join in with positive community activities. Mum has been a resident for a number of years and we are so glad we chose Huntercombe.

Review of Abbeycrest from R N (Daughter of Resident) published on 13 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Dad moved into Abbeycrest only recently, after a less than satisfactory experience at another home. The professionalism and efficiency of the administrative staff at Abbeycrest from the minute I first contacted them has been outstanding. The fact that I was in another country at the time of the transition did not matter at all. They organised a video call within 24 hours of me contacting them and very quickly put a process in place to help Dad move as soon as possible and answered all my questions professionally, honestly and in detail. The speed at which Dad has settled in and the staff have got to know him is a pleasure to see. It is a big endorsement of the quality of all the staff at Abbeycrest. From being withdrawn and depressed Dad is now taking part in the daily activities and enjoying watching television with the other residents in the lounge. Thank you so much everyone at Abbeycrest, all your efforts to help Dad's move be as easy as possible are greatly appreciated.

Review of Abbeycrest from Carole S (Friend of Resident) published on 30 July 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

Visited a friend today. The home looked very clean and smelt very fresh. The reception staff helpful and quick to respond. Refreshments offered were well received when our friend had her lunch. The gardens showed signs of the heat and the tubs looked in need of a change of plants. Having worked as a deputy manager for over 15 years in various care homes, it was very good to see the residents were put first and treated individually.

I just think the home is perfect for my wife who has Alzheimers. Abbeycrest is more like a hotel than a nursing home. The carers and staff are amazeing and she seems better now than when she moved into the home 2½ years ago. Which says it all
