Highmarket House became a sanctuary of compassion and care for our Mother and us as a family .
All the staff were very kind and respectful and provided a high level of care throughout her short stay. Her End of Life care was very compassionate and the needs of my family always considered .
All
staff were very generous with their time and every one of them a credit to Care UK and to the Home Managers lead and to themselves.
Thankyou with all my heart.

Dad moved in in November and we couldn't be happier with the care he receives. The carers and management are all so friendly, supportive and kind. Any issues are always quickly sorted, without any fuss. The care home always smells lovely and has a cheerful feel to it.
The food always looks delicious
and appetising and the cakes in the cafe are wonderful. It's lovely to be able to sit in there with dad and have a coffee and catch up.
The activities are varied and interesting - from falconry talks, to exercise classes, there's something for everyone. There had been some instances of activities being cancelled last minute, but this was often outside of CL's control. With the addition of the new activity coordinators this year, I have no doubt the programme of events will be well thought out and executed.

My mother was in need of some tlc. We contacted Highmarket House and were very impressed by their professional and friendly response. We were all made to feel welcome and were reassured by the staff and care team. My mother was very complimentary saying how lovely everybody was to her. The entertainment
team were very encouraging, trying to get mum engaged with activities and other residents. Thank you to all.

It was my Mum's 97th birthday and I asked Cuttlebrook Hall if we could have a room to celebrate her birthday. We met with 20 of the family in the cinema room which they had decorated and laid on a small buffet and drinks. This meant such a lot to us as mum can't leave the home now. Excellent service
and thank them very much.

My wite entered Highmarket House for her first time for respite care. From the moment she arrived she was warmly welcomed by the staff. She had a lovely room and treated with care and compassion by the staff. My wife found the home and staff very supportive of her needs. She found the meals very good.
Her clothes were always clean and her personal hygiene was excellent I was veery impressed by the way the home operated, from its security, cleanliness and services provided to the residents,

Cuttlebrook Hall have helped us immensely in a difficult time of trying to find a care home for Mum, who has Dementia, and Dad, who has Parkinson's. They have very different needs but still want to be, and should be together. The staff, at all levels have been amazing in accommodating their care requirements,
in different wings, but also they are able to spend time and eat together as they wish.
From my first enquiry and initial visit, to Mum and Dad moving in, the whole process was professional and clearly explained. As soon as they arrived, they were treated with kindness and respect and I have been regularly updated on how they are settling in and their care plans. There are so many activities for them as a couple and as individuals, I am confident they can both get a lot out of their life at Cuttlebrook Hall. And the rooms are beautiful. Thank you!

Cuttlebrook isn't just a care home, it is a community that cares.
The staff are dedicated, professional and infectiously positive. It is impossible not to smile when everyone is greeted personally and nothing appears too much trouble.
Mum has been welcomed into the Cuttlebrook community and her individual
needs met in the very best way possible, and after only a very short while feels safe, is eating better and joining in a variety of activities!

My parents have been resident for nearly 2 years.

I cannot fault the care staff, domiciliary and lifestyle teams are good.

There have been a few problems but without exception addressed and resolved promptly.

It has been testing time all round recently following a fall and serious injury. Now

that mum is back in the care home they are making efforts over and above my expectations to care and support her.

This is a good home and not just because the CQC say so!

Charlton Lodge

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I can highly recommend this home, due to my fathers medical condition 2 days prior to Christmas I had to place him into urgent respite care which has now evolved into permanent care. Mark and his staff helped every step of the way during these difficult times and always giving us options on how best
to provide the necessary care my father needed. The staff in the home went over and above any expectation I had in caring for my father who at the time was in a lot of discomfort and needed constant reviewing of his pain relief.
On the day of admission I had spent all at the hospital awaiting for x-rays and doctors consultations and never knew at what time we would be allowed to leave or whether my father would be admitted to hospital. None of this was a problem with the home as they stated they offer 24 hour care and admissions as required.
I can only describe the home as a hotel that provides that provides the necessary care needed that are required.

My husband has been a resident of Seccombe Court since March 2025. Someone more independent and reluctant to enter a care home would be hard to find, so it is remarkable how well he has settled in. Factors contributing to this include the purpose built premises in a pleasant location, with plenty of
natural light, and spacious rooms and corridors. Needless to say, of greater importance is the quality of care, and Seccombe Court has a delightful team, including frontline carers, nurses and those who organise the entertainment programme, ably supported by the receptionists, kitchen and hospitality teams and housekeeping staff, underpinned compassionately by members of the management team. I'm not the only relative who speaks so highly of the service here. I spend as much time as I can with my husband and feel very cared for myself as well.

My Mum had deteriorated following a couple of infections and was no longer safe at home. We managed to arrange two weeks respite care for her at High Market house. It was all arranged very quickly and efficiently. Mum was hesitant at first and although the home was very clean and the food excellent
she felt very lonely. However this was soon rectified after talking with the activities coordinator. He took time to get to know Mum and purposefully included her in the activities he ran. He even tailored some activities specifically to her interests. Mum began to enjoy her stay and make new friends. She improved her strength over the two weeks so she is now well enough to function back at home with carers coming in. Out experience was very good and the staff at Higjmarket were all very friendly and helpful .

I have been very impressed with the friendliness, professionalism and standard of all the staff I have encountered when visiting my mother. Charlton Lodge has the look and feel of a homely hotel with a lively hum of activity yet is not too busy or noisy. I have experienced for myself lunch in the dining
room both for the friendly service and tasty food. My mother is thereby motivated to eat well and to socialise - it is so good for her. I am reassured that my mother is getting the care she needs and is part of a caring community. Please keep doing what you are doing!

I am so pleased we made the decision for Mum to have some respite care at Charlton Lodge. The care is excellent; I think the staff look after Mum as if she were family. They are kind and gentle, their care is tender and respectful. The Lodge itself has amazing facilities. Mum's favourite is the bath
with jacuzzi bubbles, she loves it when the lights are turned down and she can relax under the twinkling stars. The home is immaculate, clean and tidy but also homely and comfortable.
Medical care here is a high priority. Mum's medical needs have changed several times during her visit, her team leader is brilliant at keeping me informed and up to date at all times. He has also explained change in medication which has been very helpful and reassuring. I have the utmost confidence in their skills in looking after the elderly.
Family and friends are made to feel very welcome when visiting. Mum loves it so much I don't think she wants to go home!
