My husband has recently had his first two week respite stay at Charlton Lodge. I absolutely cannot fault the care and attention to detail that the staff, administrative and carers, have given both of us in planning the stay. We had a home visit from the Care Home Manager beforehand to assess my husband's
needs, and Mark was so helpful in making sure we were happy with every aspect of the stay. He settled in quickly on arriving with the very friendly atmosphere, and I have been able to relax knowing that he has been so well cared for and enjoying the food, and activities. The facility is outstanding with lovely sitting areas, inside and out and beautifully fitted rooms. Thoroughly recommend.

I have always found the staff to be friendly and welcoming, under what must sometimes be frustrating circumstances. The home itself is light, airy and with plenty of different places to explore, with lots of open spaces to sit outside. I would live here myself should the need arise!

Very pleased that my father is being cared for at Tall Trees Glade. He has been made as comfortable as possible by the very friendly and supportive staff who handle him with the greatest of care.
Everyone at the home are very welcoming and are always ready to answer any questions you may have. Everything
is explained fully.
There are no restrictions on visiting and have a comfortable space with refreshments available whilst there.
The home is in a lovely wooded setting and has a calm feeling about it.

I spent two weeks here following knee replacement surgery. The care which I received was second to none. Initially, I needed help with dressing and washing due to severe pain. This was done with respect, kindness and humour. The staff were so cheerful, friendly, empathetic and encouraging. They supported
me through every stage of a quite painful recovery process, encouraging me when I felt overwhelmed.
I felt that I was part of a caring family inside a good hotel Nothing was too much trouble. Their pleasure when ai began to walk again was wonderful.
A really holistic approach which enabled me to meet with two other residents known to me.
Thank you Seccombe Court .
Beautiful surroundings. Amazingly clean. Lovely positive atmosphere.
Excellent delivery of all prescribed medicines.

From the care staff to the management this place is a loving and caring family
Mum sadly was only there for a week but I felt part of that family by the end of the week .
I spent all day there for 7 days and found the staff to be helpful , kind and authentic.
The home itself is light and modern
and Mums last days were well cared for .
Hubby visited and amazingly he had chosen a care uk home in Knebworth a few years ago and recognised the layout and warm atmosphere!
Keep up the good work!
Jackie

My mum has been at the home 2 years now. I don't think she will ever fully settle. She has become very attached to some of the care workers who are so kind and patient with her. I would like to thank Sue in particular, she is lovely with my mum. My mum hates anyone finding out that her brain was not
as it should be; she would be mortified at her behaviour. All the staff are lovely. I am happy my mother is safe.

Cuttlebrook Hall

from Mark T (Friend of Resident) published on 11 June 2026

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
We had been looking for a Care Home for our friend for some time. Following several 'visits' to Cuttlebrook Hall our friend decided it ' was the only place she wanted to be'.
Since moving in our friend has settled in well and enjoys everything about Cuttlebrook Hall.
She is wonderfully cared for
and the relief of knowing that 24 x 7 she is safe and very well looked after takes such a lot of stress and concern off her friends and family.
The staff at Cuttlebrook Hall are phenomenal! Professional, very, very kind and caring and considerate and I think this is the primary element that makes Cuttlebrook Hall excellent. The rooms and facilities are well designed and very pleasant to be in, both as a resident and as a visitor.
The caring and nurturing environment, together with great staff make Cuttlebrook Hall exemplary.

I feel happy and safe here. I am a long way from my daughter who lives in New Zealand, but we can talk and text and email any time. The staff are kind and treat all the residents with patience and consideration for their needs. I like it that I'm known by name by all the staff I meet in the home. I
feel I can request for anything reasonable and that my needs will be attended to very promptly. Meals vary and I don't like some of the food by there's always a choice.

The managment and staff have been very kind and helpful in my mum's move to Millers Grange. We as a family have tried to keep mum at home, which she wanted, but this has proved impossible as it just was not safe anymore. Mum is finding it quite difficult to adapt after being to independant, but is gradually
settling in with the help of staff at Mullers Grange. I always feel very welcome whatever time I visit, and any concerns are dealt with.
Reply from Dione Beecham, Reviews Team at Millers GrangeThank you for taking the time to share your experience. What a lovely, welcoming home Charlton Lodge is. From the moment we made contact, nothing was too much trouble. The whole process was efficient and the staff answered all our questions making us feel totally at ease and we just knew that we had made the right choice.
Since moving mum in we have enjoyed
visiting, taking her to the cafe for tea and biscuits with even the great grandchildren coming and wanting to visit again because they felt so comfortable.
Mum is always invited to a variety of activities even though she has alzheimers. She may not choose to take part, but she is always included.
I have nothing negative to say. A lovely home with spacious beautifully decorated rooms throughout, attentive friendly staff, great food and a contented daughter, knowing her mother is being cared for with the utmost respect.
Just need the weather to warm up so that we can go out into the lovely gardens.

Stowford House is clean, light and well maintained. The staff are generally friendly and caring and both staff and management have been stable for several years. Their approach is flexible- focused on the residents, for example my parents were served their meals in the lounge. Now my father is very
independent, and everyone has done their best to adapt to his wishes. The facilities are good- generous sized light rooms. Room to sit in outside or their own room. The food is great, home cooked and plenty of it!
