We visit our friend once a week, and have found, without exception all the staff to be caring, friendly and loving. All the rooms we have see in the home are spacious and beautifully presented. Visitors are made very welcome with excellent facilities for making complementary drinks with a lovely range
of pastries. As well as using the more public areas, there is a lovely smaller room where we can chat and play music. Charlton Lodge is a beautiful place and the staff are wonderful. I can't recommend it highly enough!

Wonderful place to be. On entering the home all staff greet you with a lovely smile and welcome. The home is excellent in every way. Nothing is too much trouble when we are visiting if we need to know anything somebody is always there willing to help. Overall couldn't wish for a better place to be in

Highmarket House

We have very close relatives and friends who have been diagnosed with dementia and are very grateful to Highmarket House who have organised a series of presentations on this subject matter and opened these up to a wider local community. We found this invaluable especially on the booklet provided on
Staying Connected, A Guide to Dementia-friendly conversations. Some of our relatives have avoided visiting family with dementia, but if they had read the booklet beforehand, perhaps they would be better aware of how best to talk to them. "Adjusting to a dementia diagnosis" presentation held this week was also very informative especially explaining the difference between normal forgetfulness as we age and dementia.
It is lovely that Highmarket House has involved the community in these subject matters. Staff have always been very warm and welcoming. Well done and thank you.
Reply from Michaela Jones, Reviews Team at Highmarket HouseThank you very much for taking the time to leave us feedback about your experience. We are so pleased that the talks, and events are benefiting you and you continue to attend them. Thank you so much for all your kind, in depth comments regarding staff and visitors.

What an amazing place!!!!!
Finding the next step for yourself or a loved one is always a challenging process. So many options and places to choose from...
And we found this one, the buzz of warmth and happiness as you walk through the door and sets it apart immediately.
The residential experience
only confirmed this with a wonderful, caring, team for whom nothing is too much trouble. Combine that with there always being something going on (days out, morning and afternoon activities every day) providing a happy, rich and stimulating place to live.
A perfect place to spend time with mum (or take her out with plenty to see nearby) and be completely confident in the outstanding care she receives.

Having spent 2 months recovering in Charlton Lodge, I came home feeling so well, this is down to the care & commitment of the wonderful staff. I enjoyed the morning activities especially the daily crosswords. Having the cafe on site made it homely when having visitors, I also made good use of the activity
room doing some painting and jigsaws. Highly recommended.

Highmarket House became a sanctuary of compassion and care for our Mother and us as a family .
All the staff were very kind and respectful and provided a high level of care throughout her short stay. Her End of Life care was very compassionate and the needs of my family always considered .
All
staff were very generous with their time and every one of them a credit to Care UK and to the Home Managers lead and to themselves.
Thankyou with all my heart.

Dad moved in in November and we couldn't be happier with the care he receives. The carers and management are all so friendly, supportive and kind. Any issues are always quickly sorted, without any fuss. The care home always smells lovely and has a cheerful feel to it.
The food always looks delicious
and appetising and the cakes in the cafe are wonderful. It's lovely to be able to sit in there with dad and have a coffee and catch up.
The activities are varied and interesting - from falconry talks, to exercise classes, there's something for everyone. There had been some instances of activities being cancelled last minute, but this was often outside of CL's control. With the addition of the new activity coordinators this year, I have no doubt the programme of events will be well thought out and executed.

My mother was in need of some tlc. We contacted Highmarket House and were very impressed by their professional and friendly response. We were all made to feel welcome and were reassured by the staff and care team. My mother was very complimentary saying how lovely everybody was to her. The entertainment
team were very encouraging, trying to get mum engaged with activities and other residents. Thank you to all.

It was my Mum's 97th birthday and I asked Cuttlebrook Hall if we could have a room to celebrate her birthday. We met with 20 of the family in the cinema room which they had decorated and laid on a small buffet and drinks. This meant such a lot to us as mum can't leave the home now. Excellent service
and thank them very much.

My wite entered Highmarket House for her first time for respite care. From the moment she arrived she was warmly welcomed by the staff. She had a lovely room and treated with care and compassion by the staff. My wife found the home and staff very supportive of her needs. She found the meals very good.
Her clothes were always clean and her personal hygiene was excellent I was veery impressed by the way the home operated, from its security, cleanliness and services provided to the residents,

Cuttlebrook Hall have helped us immensely in a difficult time of trying to find a care home for Mum, who has Dementia, and Dad, who has Parkinson's. They have very different needs but still want to be, and should be together. The staff, at all levels have been amazing in accommodating their care requirements,
in different wings, but also they are able to spend time and eat together as they wish.
From my first enquiry and initial visit, to Mum and Dad moving in, the whole process was professional and clearly explained. As soon as they arrived, they were treated with kindness and respect and I have been regularly updated on how they are settling in and their care plans. There are so many activities for them as a couple and as individuals, I am confident they can both get a lot out of their life at Cuttlebrook Hall. And the rooms are beautiful. Thank you!

Cuttlebrook isn't just a care home, it is a community that cares.
The staff are dedicated, professional and infectiously positive. It is impossible not to smile when everyone is greeted personally and nothing appears too much trouble.
Mum has been welcomed into the Cuttlebrook community and her individual
needs met in the very best way possible, and after only a very short while feels safe, is eating better and joining in a variety of activities!

My parents have been resident for nearly 2 years.

I cannot fault the care staff, domiciliary and lifestyle teams are good.

There have been a few problems but without exception addressed and resolved promptly.

It has been testing time all round recently following a fall and serious injury. Now

that mum is back in the care home they are making efforts over and above my expectations to care and support her.

This is a good home and not just because the CQC say so!
