In general I have been very happy with Bowes House. My mum has settled well and has a very lovely room. The staff are all very kind to her and understand her needs. My only negative is the system for appointments such as hair and podiatry as this seems very haphazard with the service providers not giving a specific date as to when they will be in the home.

The manager and lead nurse are always approachable and kind. The staff are helpful and offer kindness and care

After staying in four different care homes - all of them really awful, Heather View was a delight. Kind people, welcoming & every thing good, I did not want to leave, I will return when family go away on holiday. Excellent in every way, no problems, I wish all care homes were as good, thank you.

My husband has been in Bowes House since 2024 and the standard of care is excellent and goes a long way to reduce the feeling of guilt for having to place him in a care home when his health and needs became more than I was able to deal with. The staff are trained in dementia care and always treat my husband with respect and as a person in spite of his condition. I cannot praise Bowes House and all the staff enough, thank you.

Dad has been at Heather View for 9 months. He settled in so smoothly and is very happy. The staff are all wonderful - always caring and helpful. Dad was 100 in June and he had a wonderful day - visited by lots of family members and the staff were great - many thanks everyone!!!

I have always found the care home very responsive + supportive towards Dad. The carehome itself and all staff are welcoming at anytime. They encourage Dad to take part in activities each day. Food is excellent with many alternatives available which can also be available to residents.

Reasonably pleasant care home. Staff are caring + supportive. All Staff use my name + will take time to talk to me. Room is always clean + the bed is made neatly, daily Food is excellent + varies each day with 2 options of each menu.

Our mum's dementia and other health factors prompted us to take the decision to move her to a care home. She has been fiercely independent all her life and was totally against leaving her own home. We had help from social services so we knew we were making the right decision but it was very stressful. The people of Bowes house, and the facility itself, have made my mum's move a great success. We are pleased with all the staff we have met and have dealings with. And our Mum looks healthier, she is eating well, taking her meds and talking to other residents. She's the best I've seen her for many months.

The care at Bowes House is fantastic, my Dad has been here for almost a year, is settled and content. The team go out of their way to keep the residents safe and well. The activities team are amazing and put in so much effort to entertain everyone.

When we go on holiday, he comes to stay and it's like he's having a holiday also thank you very much for looking after him so well and when he came out he was more like his old self

We were v.kindly met by the manager with an umbrella! A delicious cup of coffee - thank you! Our friend was in good spirits & looked well. A very enjoyable visit and will return when the sun shines! Very pleasant staff.
