Claydon House has been very supportive to me, a grieving relative, as well as to my husband. The staff are warm, kind and professional and have made a big difference to our lives. They make a huge effort to know each resident, and to facilitate their individual needs and desires. My husband has choice
in all he does there and this has meant the world to him.

The staff are dedicated, caring, enthusiastic and professional. Residents have daily activities sessions published in advance for family and friends to view. Very importantly anyone suffering from dementia are not shut away in their own area but free to mix with other residents, under supervision. There
is also a variety of meals cooked professionally.

My father celebrated his 100th birthday in March 2026. A small family party was arranged by Southlands Place staff throughout the process from the initial enquiry to the event on the day, nothing was too much trouble. Management and reception staff were supportive and efficient, care staff were friendly,
caring and professional, and catering staff produced a buffet and cake of very good quality and suitable for the occasion. On the day the room was decorated brilliantly and arranged in such a way that conversations could be had and photographs taken. All in all a great day. Thank you Southlands.

My mother spent three very happy years at Claydon House. The staff are fantastic, and hardly any turnover of staff. This is important that the same people provided her care. Communication with me was excellent. I would rate Claydon House as outstanding in every aspect.

We chose Heffle Court because we felt comfortable there and knew that Dad would feel the same in a homely environment.
The care and proficiency are reassuring, together with genuine kindness, and Dad has calmed and clearly trusts everyone there.
The journey started last year to find a safe place for
Dad, and each time we visit, it confirms our choice was the correct one.

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
Southlands Place has all that you would expect from a very good care home facility, but in my short experience so much more: A welcoming, open atmosphere with plenty of light, airy space. Celebrating Christmas, Chinese New Year, Mothers Day etc with cheerful decorations and activities, bringing the
outside in. This is outstanding and unusual to find in my experience. Found resident/relative meetings for suggestions are a breath of fresh air. Good team work creates a calm atmosphere in often challenging times. Impressive attention to care and detail, involving family to resolve difficult issues at a sad and difficult time, is very welcome.

Fantastic care home. The level of care Peter received was amazing. All of the carers responded very quickly and any help required, and did so kindly and gently. From our first meeting with the manager, who is extremely helpful, kind, and very efficient, we knew Heffle Court was a very special home.
We will certainly hope for Pete to return for more care at some time.

I had a positive experience with Heffle Court. The staff are kind, attentive, and always willing to help, creating a supportive and welcoming environment. The overall conditions are good, with a clean and comfortable setting that reflects proper care and attention to residents' needs.
I would also
like to highlight the manager, who does an excellent job. They are highly capable, professional, and clearly know how to lead and maintain a strong, well-organized team. Their leadership makes a noticeable difference in the quality of service provided.
Overall,Heffle Court offers a reliable and caring environment, and I would recommend it to others.

I have been in Souhlands Place for two weeks and have met with nothing but kindness from all the staff. The room is lovely and everywhere is spotlessly clean. The food is very good and although I have a liquid diet there is not much the chef doesn't manage to puree. All in all this is a very comfortable
place to be.

I have been at Southlands Place for just over two years. I find the staff very helpful and willing to assist when necessary. It is of great comfort to me that staff are on hand to assist 24 hours a day if I need them. My son and daughter were able to accompany me to a lovely mothers day lunch, which
we all enjoyed. There are lots of different activities laid on. I particularly enjoy the musical ones.

My mother has been at Claydon House for just over 2 months and we are all very pleased with the care she is receiving. All of the carers, nurses and support staff are so kind, they always take time to talk and reassure her. The managers are very efficient and information is shared well amongst the staff.
The food is good and plentiful but could be served a little hotter. There is a never ending supply of hot drinks, biscuits and cake. Regular activities are organised twice a day and are good fun. The whole house is tastefully decorated and clean. Laundry is done promptly and with care. I would certainly recommend Claydon House for your loved one.

I have lived here for 5 years. I am very happy here and this is my home. I generally spend my day visiting the cafe in the morning and enjoying a coffee and maybe some cake, flapjacks being my favourite. I enjoy some of the entertainment and like the games especially darts. I attend the community
cafe monthly and the sporting memorabilia group, i love having the opportunity to get out.
I love the food here, freshly cooked. Mostly i love my breakfast and i really enjoy it. Its special when my family join me for lunch.
I have made some good friends being here. The environment is very clean and I've recently had a bedroom refurb which is great. I am very fond of the staff team and especially lifestyle team.
Its nice to see the Manager and we often have lovely conversations. I have no trouble at all, infact I'm very happy.

Bowes House

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mum has been at Bowes for 3 years.
I do not think she would still be with us if it was not for the care she has received. She has made friends with other residents and they have a strong community spirit.
She is in the early stages of dementia but the activities that they have daily help maintain
her physically and mentally. The home is always clean and as it is constantly updated.
The staff are friendly and attentive.
The food is good and there are always tempting snakes and drinks offered so even the residents who do not have a big appetite are well catered for.
They take mum on trips and vary the days by celebrating events through the year .
Mum is always treated with respect, kindness and dignity.
I have never regretted placing here there.

My mother was placed at Heffle Court for her end of life days. The moment we walked in, we were given the best welcome. People could not do enough for Mum and also my family. Nothing was too much, we were never rushed, and when my mother passed, we were able to take our time to say our goodbyes to her.
Also, if we needed any help at any time, all we had to do was ask. Thank you so much.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Claydon House have been excellent in caring for Mum at short notice after her fall and need for respite care. From the start, they made everything easy, visiting her at home to assess her needs and ensure they could provide the right environment. They chose a room that suited her well and gave us confidence
in the care she would receive. Visiting is flexible, and we are always made to feel welcome and able to join activities and meals. The house is clean, well-appointed, and her en-suite room has a lovely view and good access to shared spaces. Staff helped her set up the room comfortably and encouraged her to bring familiar items from home. Mum has made good progress, is settling well, enjoys chatting with other residents, and is treated with kindness and dignity. She says she likes the home, and we can see she is regaining her mobility. The management and staff are friendly and work hard to make Claydon feel like a home while offering high-quality nursing care.
