Montfort Manor

from Nick H (Son of Resident) published on 17 August 2025

My mother aged 97 was admitted to Monford Manor in June, unfortunate due to failing health she passed away 3 weeks later. Throughout this traumatic time for our family, all the staff at Montford Manor could not have been more caring & supportive - looking after mum with care& dignity, but also looking
after us too. Everyone at Montford Manor was so kind - offering help & and support during these very sad times. The Manager went above & beyond to provide every possible help we needed, the nursing staff were fantastic & devoted to helping mum in her last days, and the Head Nurse was a god send , always happy to give us her time, kind words & advice. I personally would have been able to get through this without her & will be forever thankful to her. I have no hesitation in recommending Montford Manor to anyone who needs a care home. The whole place is so peaceful & staff so caring. This is what all care homes should look like & aspire to be.

Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My uncle moved into Montfort Manor Care Home in December 2025. He has dementia, with the staff being excellent in dealing with his needs. The complete set-up is very professional, with the staff being very caring and managing to maintain a smile at all times. Recently, my uncle has had a few falls,
and staff have been brilliant in managing, reviewing and adjusting his mobility needs. The home maintains a high standard of care, and we are pleased to recommend it to others who find they need to find a care home.

Reply from Niki Young, Reviews Team at Montfort Manor

My Mum has now been at Invicta Court for a month, having spent all of her life in Devon. The whole experience has been exceptional from my first enquiry through to my Mum's arrival in June. The Customer Relations Manager remained in contact throughout the process of relocating Mum along with the Home
Manager and Deputy Manager. Also a big thank you to the two Team Leaders and the Team for helping to settle Mum in so quickly and your support to the family. The activity programme that Invicta Court has in place definitely helps the residence to socialise and interact with each other and the Team and I'm convinced this is why there is such a community spirit throughout.

All my interactions with Weald Heights have been excellent, and a recent review meeting to discuss my mother's care was no exception. The staff in attendance were attentive and reactive, and they clearly summarised our agreed action points. The staff gave me and my sister (who also attended the meeting)
plenty of time to discuss my mother's care requirements and her overall wellbeing. My mother has been a resident of Weald Heights since mid-May 2025, and to date every member of staff at the home has been extremely kind and helpful. Thank you all.

We were really delighted to hear that Weald Heights has been awarded 'Outstanding' by the CQC. We know what goes on behind the scenes to achieve this fantastic result, having both been subject to either CQC or Ofsted inspections at various stages in our careers. It totally reflects our experience with
the dedication of your staff in caring for my father and the visible improvements in his health and wellbeing since being at Weald Heights over the last couple of months. Please would you pass on our best wishes to all the staff particularly those wonderful people on the 2nd Floor.

Harrier Lodge

from Susan B (Daughter of Resident) published on 12 June 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My brother and I, with Mum' (94), decided in November 2023 that Harrier Lodge would be a good place for her to move to as her anxiety and memory issues were beginning to be a worry. She settled in fairly quickly and from that moment our minds were very much at rest. The home is very comfortable, clean,
light, with good food, and a garden to sit in. There are regular activities and it is very friendly. Mum's dementia worsened but she was always treated with humour and respect. Sadly she recently became ill and deteriorated over a week until she passed away. The staff on her floor were totally amazing. They were caring and careful, both with mum and with us. There was always someone to call on, nursing and medical care was taken care of and the subtle and sensitive way all the staff dealt with the situation was beyond wonderful. We can't praise them enough. The staff feel like family now and actually we shall still see them as my mother in law has now moved in! Thank you so much!!

We had to make a quick decision following the sudden death of my father as my mum's ability to cope (with Alzheimer's) was deteriorating. We were welcomed and an assessment took place to ensure mum could be cared for in the right way. It was the toughest time for us as a family and mum took a long time
to settle, constantly talking about going home with her bags packed ready to leave. The staff have been amazing at supporting and getting to know mum and taking the time to get to know and reassure us when we've found it tough.
They are incredible, kind, responsive and they know mum, and spot immediately if she's not herself. From the carers to reception staff, hostess to lifestyle team, gardener, domestic staff and hairdresser. All are experienced in distraction techniques and are reassuring, always say hello and stop for a few words. A real home from home. The leadership team have been responsive and available. My family will be forever grateful for the care and kindness shown.

My husband and I joined my mother -in-law for the VE Celebrations Event at Invicta Court.
The staff had really gone above and beyond in organising this event.
The cafeteria and cinema room were festively decorated. Many of the staff were dressed in war time clothing which made it all feel quite authentic!
They
served beautifully presented delicious food and there was a lovely lady who entertained us all with some beautiful British war time songs.
The atmosphere was wonderful and you could see the smiles on residents' faces, remembering this special day 80 years ago, but of course also remembering the difficult war time years.
The afternoon finished with a fantastic display of military vehicles and personnel outside.
Today it was again clear to see how happy the residents were and how well they are cared for by the staff, who are so respectful, attentive, kind and caring.
Thank you to everyone for this special event remembering a period in history which must never be forgotten.

My relative is absolutely loving being at Invicta Court. She has really come out of herself since arriving and now takes part in so many of the wonderful activities that are offered.
The staff know all the relatives when we come in to visit and they make us feel welcome and listened to, always making
time to talk to us and address any queries.
My relative's room is very homely and she loves the cafe and the well kept garden.
The staff are very kind, positive and encouraging and my relative says she feels safe and really well looked after.

I had history with MONFORT as my husband had spent numerous respite periods here. When I needed respite after surgery, there was no question, Montfort was where I needed to be
All was as I had anticipated, care, surrounding, staff, everything above and beyond 5* rating. I would not hesitate to recommend
this care home to anyone seeking the best care for themselves or for a loved one. Additionally, during my respite after surgery, I had time to observe how patients/clients were treated/ cared for by staff. I was impressed by and in fact moved to tears, by the gentleness, respect and consideration shown to patients/clients. Above and beyond!!
Thank you all for the care, support and kindness shown to me during my stay.

He has received excellent care & all the staff have worked very hard to find ways to engage him & keep him occupied. The activity programme

My husband has been a resident of Weald Heights since late December 2024. During this time, he has been treated with dignity and kindness by all the staff, and although he does not want to join all the activities, he does enjoy the musical afternoons and namaste sessions. Following a health scare my father chose to move to Weald Heights having seen the tremendous care my mother received when she was there. He knew he would be safe and happy and well looked after.
At Weald Heights he really felt at home. He loved the staff and the feeling of companionship he gained
from all those around him. He loved the reception room where he could read his papers and see the world by.
But when his health took a downturn that was when we were simply in awe of the care that was provided. My father was so well looked after 24 hours a day, he was very old school and the respect with which he was treated was wonderful. He might have been physically frail but mentally he was switched on throughout and he would always tell me how well he was being cared for.
Losing my father was incredibly sad but thanks to everyone at Weald Heights it was never distressing and we knew that my father passed with love and dignity. We could not have wished for anything more.

After a week in hospital, Dad moved into Weald Heights 3 months ago. He has mixed dementia and doesn't know where he is, but is happy there and very comfortable. The care is outstanding and very professional. Every staff member is so kind, caring and welcoming. They have gone to great lengths to get
to know Dad and us, and to find out what makes him tick and what might keep him engaged and occupied. They have even set up an 'office' for him in a corridor, where he can 'go to work'. The food and facilities are excellent. Dad likes going with us to the café and chatting to whoever is there, and has recently enjoyed coffee outside on the patio. The daily entertainments programme is fantastic, with one-to-one chats and garden walks, crafts, physical exercises, hand massage, amazing singers and musicians, and escorted minibus outings. We feel that Dad is being superbly looked after with dignity. We have no hesitation in recommending Weald Heights. A big thank you to all the wonderful staff.
