My mum moved into Harrier Lodge in Nov 25 after a fall at home.
Everyone was Amazing on mums arrival making her feel safe and most of all making her relax into her new surroundings that she now calls home . Mum has Dementia & she certainly kept busy & most of all active with all the activities, visits
from local schools who read & sing to them ( she loves this) . Crafting. Chatting .Entertainment , singers come in regularly so they can have a sing a long to the old favourites which brightens everyone's day . Mum loves helping others if they are sad.
Everyone who looks after mum is kind , loving & make her smile , I can't thank them enough for helping her enjoy life in her new home . Everyone loves to visit as it's a happy place & the Cakes are good too!
Everyone has been so supportive & kind as this has been a very emotional time for me .
Meals lovely & the Home is always clean.
Best thing now is I have a lovely visit with my mum & know she's
happy, safe & surrounded by love

Reply from Niki Young, Reviews Team at Montfort ManorDear BD
Thanks so much for taking the time to share your lovely feedback. We are delighted to hear that your Dad is so happy at Montfort Manor. Our team works hard to get to know each resident as an individual, so it means a great deal to know that this care shines through.
We are so pleased that you and your family feel so welcome visiting, and that the range of activities is supporting your Dad's wellbeing. Knowing he is well looked after and content is exactly what we strive for every day. Thank you again for the recommendation it truly means the world to our team.

My husband was admitted to Harrier Lodge with generalised frailty and disorientation after his condition deteriorated such that I could no longer care for him safely at home.

The staff gave him a lovely welcome as he arrived (he had received respite care at the home a few months previously). He

responded well to this as he was settled into his room.

Sadly, he continued to deteriorate. He had been suffering the effects of frailty for many months, and it became evident that he would need end of life care. During the last week of his life, he was cared for with kindness and compassion as, indeed, was I. He always appeared peaceful, comfortably supported with pillows, and as he was by then unable to take fluids, his mouth was kept moist and fresh.

I have a nursing background, so I know good care when I see it.

The care I witnessed was a great solace for me during a very sad time jn our lives.

Reply from Kyran Chalmers, Reviews Team at Harrier LodgeThank you for taking the time to leave such a heartfelt review, during what I am sure, is a very difficult time for yourself, and your loved ones.

It has been a privilege to not only support with Don's care during his last few weeks, but also to have the opportunity to get to know the two of you as people - it means so much you were able to take some solace from the care Don received, in his final few weeks.

I will ensure that your comments are passed on directly to the individuals that looked after Don.

All the very best,

Kyran

Nursing very good, prompt intervention when needed. Care very good, staff are patient, interact, he is always treated with respect and dignity. When my husband was ill with a chest infection the care/concern was prompt by all the staff. Whenever I have a worry/query the staff take time to answer. All

I chose Montfort Manor having looked at a lot of local homes. As I arrived I was met by one of the residents sitting in reception enjoying a sherry mid afternoon. She still does this but with tea. The home has a friendly cafe with free cakes, savories to take your relatives and friends to. The care
is thoughtful, low changeover of staff who know their residents, they give my husband dignity. The rooms are cleaned and tided everyday there are very imaginative activities even for my husband who has dementia and the food for residents, always has a choice in every course. Good value for money.

From the moment we walked into reception and were given directions to find my sister (room 20). We were greeted by smiling and happy staff. My sister's room was spacious and with many personal items. Lots of family photographs. Every area was spotlessly clean. My sister seems happy and contented, she's
93 and recently became a resident.

Harrier Lodge

from Sandra B (Daughter of Resident) published on 28 January 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5
My father was transferred to Harrier Lodge from hospital as he needed end of life care. It was my family's decision in choosing Harrier Lodge as we were assured it had 24 hour nursing care, a requirement that the hospital said he needed.
Sadly, my father passed away after three weeks of entering Harrier
Lodge.
The whole experience here for my father and our family was abysmal, the end of life pain management was pretty non existent, my father needed to receive proper medication and a driver machine but they were unable to provide this in time before his death. Nursing care was inexperienced and only one nurse seemed to have any authority and knowledge.
This care home let my father down, he was made to feel that he was complaining incessantly and on two occasions his alarm alert buzzer was on the wall not by his side where it should have been.
Several staff were very patronising and we honestly don't believe they were fully aware of his medical needs. There was no compassion or dignity
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at Harrier LodgeWe are very sorry for your loss and would like to offer our sincere and heartfelt condolences to you and your family. We recognise how difficult this time must be and appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback regarding your father’s care at Harrier Lodge.

We are sorry to hear that you feel some aspects of his care did not meet expectations. Please be assured that your father’s comfort and wellbeing were always of great importance to us.

The safety and welfare of everyone in our care is our highest priority. We are sorry to learn of your concerns regarding call bell accessibility on two occasions. Matters such as this are taken very seriously, and we regret that your experience did not reflect the standards we aim to uphold. The importance of ensuring call bells are always accessible has been reinforced with the team.

Your feedback is very important to us, and we have taken it as an opportunity to further review our practices.
If you would like to discuss your father’s care in more detail, please be assured that the Home Manager would be happy to arrange to do this. Please do let us know.

With our deepest sympathies.

My father moved into Montfort Manor in December 2025 following a hospital admission and when it became clear he was struggling at home.
Given that trying up find a suitable care home place at short notice is very difficult my wife and I found Niki very welcoming and helpful in starting the process.
Once Dad moved in, all of the staff from reception and administration staff to the clinical staff have been so helpful and put dad at ease and made him feel welcome.
It's taking a bit of time for Dad to get accustomed to his new setting but the staff have made that process a lot easier.
The home itself is so well looked after, it is always clean and tidy and also smells nice.
I can't thank all of the team highly enough.

We look forward to continuing to support Dad and your family in the home.

After having had a very poor after care experience with the NHS I dedcided on two weeks respite at Montfort Manor. I feel I have made the right choice. Staff are very efficient, kind and considerate to all the residents no matter what condition they have have. Accomodation, food and entertainment, excellent.
Living in a complex of self catering flats I am certainly recommending a stay here to boost morale, confidence and well being should it every be needed.

My mum has been at Invicta Court for 4 years, she is well looked after and gives us as a family peace of mind. It's very difficult when your loved one has Alzheimer's disease, the person you know doesn't exist anymore as you know them and it's very difficult. I looked after my mum for 18months and it
was difficult, it wasn't until she went to Invicta Court that I realised it was ok to not have my mum with me, she didn't like living with me she wasn't aware I was her daughter. When she first went to Invicta she thrived it was like having her back again, she was looked after so well, she was happy being there and the carers became her family. It was the best thing we could have done for our mum. She has no capacity now and has no mobility, but she's happy and that's is down to the carers and nurses at Invicta Court.
Reply from Jaime Jukes, Reviews Team at Invicta CourtHi Michelle, thank you so much for sharing this. We know how incredibly difficult the Alzheimer’s journey can be, and we’re truly honoured that Invicta Court has been able to support mum and bring your family peace of mind. Knowing she is happy and well cared for means everything and your kind words will mean so much to the whole team.
