My mum came into the home in June 2025 for, originally, a few weeks respite care but ended up staying for just over a month. We moved mum to another home that was closer to us and a smaller amount of residents otherwise mum would have stayed here.
The care mum received from the staff was brilliant.
They were attentive, personal and genuine. They would engage with mum on her level, sit and chat with her or play music to her, try to get her involved with activities and encourage her to eat with others.
If your loved one is in need of specialist dementia care I would recommend Holly Oaks.

Thank you to the whole team at Sandfields for providing excellent care during my mum's respite stay. She has been safe, happy and healthy during her time with you.
On her return home, she had nothing but the highest praise for the meals, company and kindness of all the Sandfields staff without exception.
She was also able to maintain her independence whilst she was with you, using the garden and cafe when she chose to.
We look forward to keeping in touch with you in the future.

Exceptional Care and Compassion.
Our family is incredibly grateful for the outstanding care our mother received during her final week at Sandfields Care Home.
From the moment she arrived, the team showed genuine warmth, professionalism and respect; not only to our mother, but to us as a family. It
made an extremely difficult time more bearable, knowing she was in such capable and compassionate hands.
One member of staff, in particular, stood out - our mother's primary nurse. Her empathy, gentleness and constant support were far beyond anything we could have hoped for. She treated our mother with true dignity and provided comfort and reassurance to our entire family. Her approach clearly inspired those around her, as the same level of care was evident across the team.
We also want to acknowledge a senior team member whose thoughtful words during a particularly challenging moment brought great peace of mind.
We will always be thankful for the kindness we received.

Our friend moved across from The Hollies about 6 months ago and the move has been incredibly successful. She loves the access to outdoor safe and secure areas and the tremendous range of activities. We were pleased with the levl of care in The Hollies, but Holly Oak even surpasses that. The level of
staffing seems very high and we get great communication about our friend who we look after. If you can afford it, this is the best!

I have found the care of my father at Holly Oak to be excellent. My father has quite significant care needs and in addition he presents one or two extra challenges for the carers. However, they always deal with his needs and the challenges he presents with the utmost care and professionalism.

In

addition, my mother, who now lives alone, has needed support on numerous occasions. This is where the care at Holly Oak has gone above and beyond anything I could reasonably have expected. They have continuously provided support for my mother too when she visits my father and is in need of emotional support.

You would quite reasonably expect their care to be limited to their residents. However, this is not the case, they also consider the wider impacts to the residents family and loves ones and provide support where needed.

I would thoroughly recommend Holly Oak to anyone who has a loved some suffering from dementia. The care is second to none.

Mum moved into Holly Oaks in December 2024, after dad died mum seemed to go down hill health wise and was also diagnosed with alzheimer/dementia, at home she had carers but for mum this didn't work so well, she was forgetting to eat and drink and lost a lot of weight.
As a family and discussion with
mum she moved into Holly Oaks.
It was the best decision we all made, since being a resident mum has gained weight, most of her medication has been stopped, she now no longer takes medication for her diabetes. Healthy regular well balanced home cooked meals have helped.
Holly Oaks carers are so amazing with mum, the carers work with what mum wants/needs, not what they think she needs.
Lots of activities if she wants to join in, also trips out.
All the staff are are so friendly, always helpful and nothing seems to much trouble for them.
Best thing for us as a family, mum is very happy and contented, we know she is safe and well looked after 24hrs a day.

From the initial meeting with The Hollies to discuss the needs and care for our mum, to her passing, I cannot praise the staff enough.
The level of care and understanding was outstanding, any issues, i.e. medical care etc., were explained on every occasion, all the staff were friendly and made time
to talk to you. We cannot give enough praise to The Hollies.

I had been visiting a former client of mine whom I attended in support in the community they moved into Sandfields where I would still come in and visit and found all staff very welcoming and friendly and also very caring meeting individuals care needs the home is also very clean no stale odours always
fresh moving on another one of my clients needed to move into a home and felt confident in recommending Sandfields that the family as well as my client would be happy to live here so they moved in and every time I visit they tell me they are happy and the food is good and again all staff are friendly and helpful and they love their room which is equipped well and was able to bring a few items from home laundry wise items do get lost but asked if I could look in lost property and items found today I've noticed the activities are well planned for everyone to attend and understand the mini bus is up and running for small trips happy residents happy families would continue to recommend

My nonagenarian uncle was admitted to The Hollies, two years ago. He is mentally and physically well for his age, but requires round the clock, 24/7 medical & nursing attention. In all functions of the care home the level of care & management have been amazing; the nursing staff give day in day out
cheerful, professional and consistent high standards of care. The decision making and service levels with various medical emergencies have been spot on. The management of the his residency and evolving care needs have been exceptional from day one. It is one of the very best Care Homes I have seen. A testament to what is possible by a group of professional carers. I fully recommend it.

My mum has been a resident at the Hollies for about four months and if she had any complaints I would certainly hear about them, as we speak very regularly and she is not shy of giving her opinions. Altogether, I have been very impressed. Her room and the shared quarters are kept extremely clean; the
staff are kind and efficient; and there are all sorts of entertainments, including painting and craftwork, for her to get involved in - and regular concerts, which she loves. I could also mention a number of personal touches - which I won't as they are very much excessive to requirements. In short, she is enjoying her time there. Lucky mum. I hope I live somewhere similar when the time comes.

Having your mother want to give up her beautiful home to go into a care home made me the saddest and helpless daughter to my mum and I felt I had let her down . Being disabled myself I was unable to care for her but I did try . After many months of crying feeling lonely it was her decision and hers
alone to go into a care home . We tried respite at another home but after visiting The Hollies my sister and I did not even tell her we had visited I prayed we could get her in there but felt helpless It was the manager and her social worker who arranged it . The administrator did all the paperwork and she was given a place she now calls home . There is nothing I can fault at The Hollies and to see her smile again and her fitness levels are so much better . To sum up the 5star care home My mother now calls her home is such a relief to me . I love the staff like family and thank them for all they do for her . So so grateful all xxxxx.

This is a very nice care home where my mother has been well looked after for over a year now. She suffers from Dementia and is also unable to walk following an accident where she shattered her femur.
The staff are all very efficient and friendly and the facilities are second to none. The place does
not smell of urine which afflicts many other care homes.

My father moved into Scarlet House in August last year, and died this weekend. For the entire time he lived there, he was treated with the most incredible compassion and care by every member of staff. He had dementia so couldn't remember very much, but he always remembered how nice the food is and how
lovely the staff are! Through this last week when he entered his final days, I have been overwhelmed by the dignity that he has been treated with. He has had the most dignified death I could possibly have imagined or wished for. My family are so grateful that we found Scarlet House. It has exceeded all my expectations of residential care. Thank you everyone!
