I was shocked today to see how amazingly different my father in law looked today after joining Mayfield View for respite care. He looked a million times better than he did a few days ago, clean and tidy, more mobile and more positive in himself. The staff at Mayfield View have been brilliant from start
to finish. His transfer from hospital was seamless thanks to Sally who really helped us with the process and put our minds at rest that he would be in the best care - and he genuinely has been. He even has his appetite back.

The home itself is clean and welcoming and every minor detail thought of for a home from home experience. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Dad has been at Mayfield for over a year now, is settled and happy especially with the care he receives from the excellent staff. As a family we were also very grateful for the care and dignity in which my Mum was allowed to spend her last few days.

Since my mother had a stroke, that severely impacted her vision and mobility, she has been looked after for five years at Mayfield View Care Home in Ilkley. To say that my family and I, are highly satisfied by the quality of care, services and attention, from the home, would be a large understatement.

Mother

likes to maintain as much independence as possible, during her stay the staff all respect this and do whatever they can to facilitate this. The home provides full services needed to care for mother and, should she need the help or advice from a GP, they can access this far quicker than she could at home.

Whilst the home has good facilities, a clean and safe environment, provides good food, and a great deal of activities and visitors to keep the residents engaged and active, these are nothing without the amazing staff to support them. Despite doing a hard and taxing job, the staff do this with a smile, they like the people they care for and that shows. They not only do this for th

I am extremely at Mayfield View. In fact I would say that if one is not happy at Mayfield View where would one be happy? There are minor irritations, but where in life are there no irritations? I enjoy the independence that I am given, yet I am relieved to know that help is available should I need it.
The food is very much improved from the time I arrived here 21/2 years ago. There is imagination in the choice of menus, which cannot
be easy as so many dietary needs must be covered. Sometimes the cooking of vegetables is a little disappointing. They can be overcooked and soggy. The carers and the other staff are generally very approachable, understanding and anxious to help, often doing more than is absolutely necessary at the time. It is most interesting to talk to them and hear about their individual families and lives, when they have the time to do so. One or two of the night staff can seem surly and unforthcoming at times.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at Mayfield ViewWe would like to thank you for taking the time to provide such wonderful feedback regarding Mayfield View.

We are so pleased to hear that you are extremely happy at the home and that you find the staff to be approachable, understanding and anxious to help and enjoy spending time talking to them. They hold themselves to a very high standard and will appreciate your kind words as they continue their hard work.
We are also pleased to hear that you find the food to have improved and the menu choices to have imagination.

We are sorry to read of your concerns regarding the vegetables and some of the night staff.
Your feedback is imperative to us to enable reflection and positive change to take place.
Please be assured that the Home Manager will address these concerns and would be happy to further discuss them with you.

We hope you continue to enjoy your time at Mayfield View and thank you again.

I continue to give Weavers Court a really positive review, two and a half years after my Mum became a resident there.
The care remains amazing and very individually focussed. My Mum has some complex needs, which have always been met with careful consideration, team work and patience and mostly because
the staff know my Mum so well.
She is settled and at peace because of the warmth and kindness she is approached with each day. We receive the same warmth and kindness as she does, which we honestly appreciate more than words can say.
We have recently needed help from the management and financial administration staff and can't fault them and how much they have helped us. Having their support really helps at a tricky time.

My Mother has just finished her 4 week respite stay and has now moved on to permanent residency.
From my first visit at the beginning of March I cannot speak highly enough of Mayfield View.
Every aspect of the Homes staffing care is exemplary from the Management, Reception, Entertainments staff, the
Carers, and cleaners.
There is a wonderful feeling of calm and professionalism. The staff team members are all so welcoming and friendly and you can feel the genuine intimate care they have for the residents.
I am absolutely delighted my Mother is staying permanently as a resident.
Lastly the process of assessment, financial guidance and advice given to procure Mums stay was a very smooth journey.
Thank you all at Mayfield View.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My 95 year old father in law spent 2 weeks respite care in Seacroft Grange after a 3 week stay in hospital.
He has poor mobility and is extremely deaf.
Every effort was made to keep to a routine as this is very important to him especially around mealtimes.
He had all his meals in the dining room
which we thought might be a problem for him.
He enjoyed the food which was good quality and well presented in the pleasant dining room.
Another big hurdle for him to overcome was accepting help with his personal care. He can no longer wash himself and is embarrassed. However 2 amazing young members of staff managed to coax him to have 4 showers.
This was beyond our expectations so huge credit to them!
His room was kept clean and was pleasant. However it was very small. The rooms initially shown were larger and so were the others nearby.
If he was in here full time we wouldn't
have accepted it. However for 2 weeks arranged at very short notice it was acceptable.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at Seacroft GrangeWe would like to start by thanking you for your very kind feedback regarding Seacroft Grange. The team are heartened by your review and are deeply grateful to have spent time with your wonderful family.
The team are incredibly proud of the work they do, and they readily go above and beyond for those entrusted to their care. We are pleased to see that this was reflected in your experience.
We are sorry to hear that you felt your Father-in-law's room was small. Please be assured that should you require longer term care/respite care in the future; the team would be delighted to work with you in identifying a suitable room. We can confirm that there are rooms with a larger space and beautiful views within the home.

We do hope that you will keep us in mind if you require support moving forward as the team would be happy to provide this again.

All the best

There is such a good feeling about Mayfield View, from the moment you walk into the building everyone is lovely, from the warm welcome at reception to the carers and management team, they always take their time to say hello & have a chat.
My mother is law has been a resident for over 3 years from
mid stage dementia to now late stage dementia where she no longer recognises us. This has been a difficult transition for is all but the constant knowledge that she is being well cared for and safe at Mayfield View has been a massive weight taken off us. I have the relish app and can see the photos and joy in her face at the brilliant activities Julie and her team regularly organise ranging from silent disco (her favourite) to various animal visits. I am happy we chose Mayfield View it was the correct decision and I have no doubt it has lengthened the life of my mother in law and made her as happy and content as possible.

Overall happy with home.
But had to report toilet four times kept blocking.
Also fall mat underbed wasn't fit until 10 days.
Staff are lovely.
When arrive after 6 struggle to get in, its security but can be waiting a while to get in on to floor as no fob.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at Seacroft GrangeThank you for taking the time to provide feedback on Seacroft Grange.
We are pleased to hear that you are overall happy with the home, however, we are very sorry to hear of your concerns.
Upon review we understand that contractors were contacted as soon as the home were aware of the concern regarding the toilet. Unfortunately, a delay was encountered on the contractor's part and as such, alternative contractors were sought and the required work took place as soon as possible.
Regarding access to the building, we are aware that this is currently under review and the ability to enable the doorbell to sound around the building is being considered. I understand that an interim solution has been offered to your family and we apologise for the delay being experienced.
We would like to thank you for your kind words regarding the staff. This will be greatly appreciated by them while they continue their hard work.
Thank you again for your feedback.

We made the difficult decision to place my mum here due to deteriorating Alzheimer's. She stayed for two weeks respite and has since stayed as she seemed so happy! We could tell immediately that she was happy, settled and enjoying all the activities on offer. The staff are always so friendly and professional
and simply lovely with the residents. It has put our minds at ease as a family and most importantly mum seems properly cared for and looked after.

Lovely building, staff lovely. Aware of a few teething issues, toilet was reported 4 times as it was blocked. Safety mat for under bed wasn't fitted until at least day 10 and it had to be prompted. The kids love to visit their great grandma , we were told the bistro had cakes etc but we've never seen
any. Overall lovely place and feels very calm.

We are very sorry to hear that you have not found the Bistro to be stocked with cakes on your visits.
We have been assured that the cakes are well stocked; however, they are very popular and the Bistro is visited often, meaning they can run out.

My Godmother became a resident of the home in January 2023. Although she cannot take part in any of the activities at the home, because she is bedridden, she is very comfortable and happy there and feels that she is being well looked after. She loves to engage with the staff members who are aways
going to see her to make sure she is okay. The home is very welcoming and the staff are really friendly and always helpful. The food is very good and if there is nothing on the menu that she likes, they are always happy to give her something different. It's a pity that she can't engage in the activities as there is something happening every day. A couple of years ago she had a particularly bad health scare and we thought we were going to lose her but the care and support she got was amazing. We feel that we made the right choice for her knowing that she is very well cared for.

My mum has lived at Weavers Court for 3 years and is so content as it really feels like HOME to her and also to all the family when we visit. She has gone from strength to strength.
The staff have been so patient, caring and loving to her and I see that they are the same with all the residents. They
watch out for every little change in mood and health issues, and quick to respond and rectify situations.
Events and activities are well thought out for residents who want to get involved.
Mum is no longer struggling and isolated. She now lives in a happy home with good food and lots going on. Thank you
