Every single member of staff at Seacroft Grange, showed care and friendliness to my Mother. They were very professional, nothing was too much effort for the staff, particularly at the end of Mums life, they went above and beyond to ensure her comfort and dignity. They showed the same care to my Mum
as to my brother and I. I cannot recommend this care home highly enough.

Soft furnishings and expensive fixtures and fittings do NOT provide hands on care for residents, that is down to care staff who, in my father's case, had the authority to make care planning and evaluation decisions autonomously, which were way above their experience and pay-grade. When management were
involved, they talked the talk but little else.
When suggestions, and then ultimately complaints, were made, over a three month period little changed resulting in unsafe care for my father who continued to fall and injure himself until we pro-actively intervened and called 999 ourselves when he was taken to hospital and died 5 days later.
Be aware that on a residential unit, if end of life medication is needed, it is provided by community District Nurses and NOT by nurses within the same building on a different floor. This is standard care home practice but unless it is explained (which it was not) your loved one is left in a limbo of pain and distress.
Be aware - LAST INSPECTED 2019.

We've had an exemplary experience at Mayfield View. We moved from another home, and the difference has exceeded our hopes. Any issues are dealt with promptly. The staff are cheerful and friendly and have time for us. Although Mum gets frailer in many ways, her physical health is better. We are reassured
that she is in safe hands

If you want your relative to be not just taken care of but loved then is the place to choose. The staff treat the residents as if they were their own family. As someone who lives in another country it's deeply reassuring to know that my mother is being treated with both love and dignity.

In general the care home is good. Excellent activity staff who support and encourage the residents and are warm and friendly. In general the care and support team on the floors are kind and caring.
When care uk took over it was anticipated that fresh food would be cooked at the home and more fresh
food would be available this hasn't happened, this is one area I would like to change. In addition I would like one specific television company for all residents made available there is a cinema room which could be used to facilitate this.

Very pleased with the care and attention that my mother receives at Seacroft Grange. Comforting to know she's looked after and respected by all the staff hence my 5-star review. However, on a separate note, I am disappointed and at times frustrated with the handling of financial aspects of her care
since the acquisition by Care UK and centralising of financial management.

Mother had settled in well to her new room following a change from the residential side to the more secure care side of the facility for her own safety.
Unfortunately the house keeping of her room has required on two occasions to be brought to the attention of the home manager and a senior, with cleaning
etc. not been to a required standard, although in both cases this has received prompt attention when pointed out to the staff.
Mums room is comfortable and adequate.
Mum seems happy when in the lounge with others and when joining in activities and I'm sure the staff try to provide the best they can in what can be trying circumstances with dementia sufferers.
In the environment items seem to be mislaid, including named laundry items which should be easily remedied but appears not to be.

Better checking of routines by seniors and management to improve and uphold standards would be of benefit

First the good...My mum's room is large, spacious & has everything she needs. Reception staff are excellent. They always pass messages on & are friendly & professional. The activities appear to be held on a regular basis & are varied & they try to involve everyone. My mum is treated with respect & friendliness.
Now the not so good...when my mum presses her buzzer it takes a while for staff to respond. I dread to think if she presses it in an emergency situation what would happen. I think they need more maintenance staff as repairs seem to take forever & often need chasing up. From what I've seen of the food the quality is not very good & often isn't very warm. Communication between staff is not the best. We have had times where we have spoken to one carer about something yet it doesn't get passed on to others so end up repeating ourselves

Mum has been a resident for 2 years now .
Care is good , residents are well looked after & there is a constant supply of outstanding activities & entertainment going on to suit everyone's needs .
Reception is excellent always my first point of contact & so helpful .
Food & beverages are good & senior
staff & cares on courtyard brilliant , kind compassionate & welcoming .although I have struggled with the amount of mums personal items constantly going missing .
I understand that residents do move & hide things all the time so just keep replacing as a challenging environment for staff to keep track of residents belongings .
I would highly recommend Grange to any family looking for residential care for family or friends & cannot thank all staff enough for providing a happy safe secure home for mum to live .

My wife has been a resident in Seacroft for nearly a year now ,probably one of the most difficult years of my life.
She has Alzheimer's and therefore needs the special care that Care UK staff can offer. I visit regularly and see her full spectrum of moods that form a common pattern of behaviour in
this terrible disease.
I can honestly say that the carers have developed a wonderfully close rapport with my wife, recognising when she is confused or agitated and expertly settling her mood with love and care. Seacroft goes further than simply caring for their charges. A wonderful wellbeing team organise regular activities for the residents, art and crafts, exercise classes, games and dancing to popular hits of past decades form only part of a wide range of interests for their charges. Wonderful special events are a regular feature to help stimulate the residents, I have personally enjoyed a number of these events myself, so much work is put in by the small team.

On my visits with my mother I can see that the care team and especially the activities team all work incredibly hard looking after her. I know she is in good hands and that they take good care of her. The care home is very friendly and my mother feels very at home and is comfortable living there.
She enjoys most of the activities, especially the coffee mornings and anything which includes music and she loves to dance.

My mum has been a resident of Mayfield since April 2024. She is really happy here, very comfortable and feels safe. All the staff are wonderful with her and the nursing care has been fantastic. The little extras that are available at Mayfield make my mums life more enjoyable. There is always something
to do through the day, you can go to the coffee shop, participate in daily activities and go for a walk/sit out in the lovely garden area. Lovely home where nothing is too much trouble.

My mum went in for a short stay. Her room was very comfortable and clean all the facilities were very good. The staff were kind and caring and helped her shower. They went to great lengths to make her feel welcome, and everyone hugged her when she left.
She found it difficult for the first couple of
days to want to mingle with other residents and join in, but was gently encouraged by the staff, and she enjoyed talking to other people and joined in a couple of activities. She could help herself to tea, coffee, and biscuits when I wanted. Mum wished there had been a mirror in the bedroom, as she found it hard to dry her hair and used the reflection in the TV.

In the 6.5 years mum has been at Seacroft Green she has been looked after with the greatest of care. The staff all make an effort to know mum and to spend time with her and encourage her. For mum's 100th birthday the staff threw a wonderful party for her and took care to include activities and songs
that they knew she would enjoy. They are also very caring and supportive towards mum's family when we visit which is greatly appreciated. Thank you to all the staff, you can be very proud of the job you do and the care you give.
