It is a pleasure to visit Mayfield View. Always a friendly welcome and a cheery chat whenever I call.
All of the staff have shown genuine concern for my mother's wellbeing and it is obvious that they know and care about the residents and their families.
My mother is happy at Mayfield View and likes
the staff and appreciates the efforts they go to.

After going to visit my friend in the care home, I found it very welcoming. The staff were friendly and the room and bathroom were immaculate. The staff were very attentive to my friend and nothing was too much trouble. She never gets out of bed, due to her condition, but there is always someone calling
in to see if she was ok. I cannot speak more highly of the place.

Fantastic care home it is like a hotel the staff are all so nice and friendly can't do enough for the residents. The whole place is spotlessly clean and good quality food with various choices. There are different activities most days where the residents are invited to attend or join in also a cinema room
and seperate bistro where tea, coffee and cakes are served daily. My mother loves life here and is very happy a big thank you to all the staff and management.

My mum went in for a short stay. Her room was very comfortable and clean all the facilities were very good. The staff were kind and caring and helped her shower. They went to great lengths to make her feel welcome, and everyone hugged her when she left.
She found it difficult for the first couple of
days to want to mingle with other residents and join in, but was gently encouraged by the staff, and she enjoyed talking to other people and joined in a couple of activities. She could help herself to tea, coffee, and biscuits when I wanted. Mum wished there had been a mirror in the bedroom, as she found it hard to dry her hair and used the reflection in the TV.

Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at Seacroft Grange

We are sorry to hear that your mother struggled to dry her hair in the room due to there not being a mirror. In the 6.5 years mum has been at Seacroft Green she has been looked after with the greatest of care. The staff all make an effort to know mum and to spend time with her and encourage her. For mum's 100th birthday the staff threw a wonderful party for her and took care to include activities and songs
that they knew she would enjoy. They are also very caring and supportive towards mum's family when we visit which is greatly appreciated. Thank you to all the staff, you can be very proud of the job you do and the care you give.

We are beyond grateful for the exceptional care we have received since both my parents were placed in April. Sadly my Dad died after 3weeks and the staff could not have been kinder. It gives us comfort as a family that Mum has now got her forever home. Special thanks to one member of staff for her kindness,
reassurance and personal attention. We don't know everyone yet but thank you to an additional four members of staff. You make such a lovely caring team, thank you.

Amazing welcome on first day. Staff waiting at front door for dad arriving, after 2 traumatic days of sudden Bereavement and a massive change for dad, made to feel at ease and that we were part of the community straight away.
All staff introduced them selves and one of them was fabulous at sorting
everything out for us, making the experience a fantastic one.

I would recommend The Green as my mum was in there for four years and the care she received was very good until she passed away in December The staff were very supportive not only to mum but to me and my family and we were kept up to date on everything
that was happening either by email ,telephone or in person when visiting we cannot thank them enough .

Our relative who was 81 had been a resident in Seacroft for over 2 years, He suffered with several heath issues, and mental and mobility issues, he could be uncooperative at times, however the care compassionate acceptance was excellent. He had a recent stay in hospital being very poorly it was decided
to discharge him back to the home for end of life care.
All the staff have always been excellent, nothing too much trouble, even though they were very busy, and his care was second to none in his last few weeks. He died peacefully with dignity. With two members of staff caring for him. they were fantastic
We are his only relatives and were in Australia with circumstances beyond our control to return home, however your manager was incredibly helpful and has assisted us with formalities we could not do, absolute god send , and staff on reception excellent.we would recommend this care home every single time, it's perfect. Thank you each and every one of you amazing,

Following on from my previous review I am still a great supporter of Seacroft Grange Care Home and the care they provide for my wife.
Whilst nothing is absolutely perfect, so there have been small issues that I feel could have been dealt with in a faster time.

Mum has been a resident since July 2023 with Dementia.
This is a well run Care Home and Mum settled in well most of the time.
Reception are excellent, so helpful and great first point of contact if I have any questions or need assistance.
Mum lives in Courtyard and has a comfortable, clean sunny
room.
Seniors and all staff are brilliant, treating residents with kindness, care, dignity and respect.
After a short period of withdrawal and weight loss last year when Mum wouldn't come out of her room and lost her appetite. Home Manager solved the issue and Mum has now gained weight and is sitting back in communal areas so thank you.
Activities available to residents are excellent with a lot of energy put in to entertainment, making a happy home for all who live there.
The Bistro Cafe is a lovely place to take Mum during visiting and I would highly recommend The Grange to anyone who maybe looking for a safe, happy and caring environment for a loved one.

Both our parents were in Mayfield for a total of three years. Sadly, they both passed away with just a few weeks between them at the end of last year. From the day they both went into Mayfield, the care that they both received from the staff was exceptional. My sister and I cannot thank the Manager
and all of her team for the care that they provided for Mum and Dad every day, treating them as family members and not just a resident, which was lovely to see. All the team were amazing and were a huge part of our lives during the time our parents were there. We were always included in everything that was going on at Mayfield; the communication between the staff and ourselves was paramount. My parents were happy with the care and we knew that they were being looked after very well, whilst still being treated with the upmost respect. Nothing is too much trouble at Mayfield. We miss our "Mayfield family" deeply, but would not hesitate in recommending them to other friends and family.

Sep-Dec 2024 we visited pretty much everyday, its fair to say that we really got to know the home and team very well. The staff are lovely, genuine, warm, professional people and are all amazing. Nothing was ever too much trouble and we felt like we were right at home. Hygiene, personal care, cleanliness,
laundry, meals are all of the highest standards and that gave us so much comfort. As my father in laws health deteriorated the team did us and themselves proud, not only providing the most outstanding care for him but also were pillars of strength to us, supporting us through the most difficult of times. We will never ever forget the Team that looked after Malcolm, thank you to EVERYONE that cared for him and us. All the staff and the laundry lady, we cannot thankyou enough for all that you did. You were there for us every step of the way, even on funeral day, you were there to show your respect, which is another special memory that we will cherish forever

Dad lived at Mayfield for the last 18 months of his life. He settled in well and received incredibly kind and compassionate care from all the staff. He enjoyed taking part in the many activities. He had a lovely room which was very cosy and always clean. All the staff were very friendly towards him
and all who visited. During his final days - he was very well cared for and I am incredibly grateful to all the staff who went the extra mile to not only look after Dad but the family visiting as well.

The staff looking after Dad/Gramps always went above and beyond. The care, commitment and compassion is evident as soon as you walk through the door and meet the helpful reception staff. This continued on the floor where Dad had a room with a fantastic view and was able to watch the sunset many times.
He enjoyed the varied activity events especially the singing sessions where he got to do a quite a few solos! Dad also enjoyed the home cooked food and everyone worked so hard to make him comfortable and nourish his strong independent spirit. Wishing you all well for the future in the great work you do.

My experience of Seacroft Green has been very positive. Indeed, I can't fault it. They go out of their way to make the residents as clean, comfortable and happy as possible. Only tonight, they helped my mother celebrate her 89th birthday, congregating in her room to sing happy birthday to her, getting
her some cards and even baking her a cake. I guess they don't have to do that, but they did and it is much appreciated.
