I am pleased to say my husband has been a resident at Mayfield View, Ilkley since mid-October 2025. The wonderful facilities ensured that he settled in straight away. His room is extremely comfortable and warm. The very caring, attentive staff are always on hand with a warm smile and assistance. As
I visit my husband most days for a few hours, we can still share a life together, join in activities and enjoy a coffee in the lovely cafe with our family and friends.

The care and well being team are fully committed to looking after my mother. The only issue I have is that having purchased several hearing aids (at least 4 pairs!) since my mother has been residing at Seacroft Grange they have all gone missing!!
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at Seacroft GrangeThank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding Seacroft Grange. We are very pleased to hear your positive comments about the care and wellbeing team and their commitment to your mother.

We are genuinely sorry to learn about the distress caused by the hearing aids going missing. We would also like to thank you for bringing this to our attention. We fully understand how important these are to your mother's comfort, communication, and quality of life, and we recognise how frustrating this situation must be for you.
Please be assured that we take concerns like this very seriously. The Home Manager is aware and will be reviewing our processes and working with the team to review this to help prevent similar issues in the future.

I have been asked to , and have reviewed Seacroft Grange in the past. My wife has now been a resident for the past two years, and I must admit that over that time the staff at the care home have been consistent in the delivery of their care, to the benefit of the residents in all three communities.

No

caring situation is perfect and there have been occasions when I felt that standards have faltered slightly, although those situations are rare and have been promptly addressed by the management team when reported.

I am constantly impressed by the communication that the managers take time to report and listen to the opinions of the resident's family via one to one or a regular teams meetings, plus an evening where we have the opportunity to meet socially with the team and other relatives over a glass of wine and excellent cheese and continental meats. This has been particularly useful to myself in meeting other relatives and sharing views on how their own experiences have been.

My Mum has been a resident at Weavers Court for two years now. Whilst putting a family member into a nursing home is never something you want to do, we know that for my Mum it was the right time and that Weavers was absolutely the best choice as her new home. We have never regretted our choice.
The
care she receives is wonderful. Taking care of my mum is not always easy and presents challenges for the nursing and care staff, but they carry on giving her the love and support she needs, calling on their vast experience and involving the medics for input as required.
The team of managers, admin staff, activity coordinators, domestic staff, hairdresser, caretaker and chefs all provide amazing support in their own ways and do the most wonderful work.
We feel like we are listened to and supported as a family.
Reply from Sarah Kunica, General Manager at Weavers Court Care HomeThanks so much for your review of Weavers Court, We are so thankful that we continue to receive the support of families, Care is never an easy decision to make however our staff strive to continue to care and support love ones in our care along with families.

From our first contact with the home, the impression has been of a professional and friendly environment. All the staff have a helpful, nothing is too much trouble attitude and look to make your loved one and there family feel at home. Mum has settled in so quickly and loves the chats with the staff,
who although extremely busy take the time to sit and listen to mum, she loves the interaction.
The home is always very clean and tidy and although very new, it is well maintained and any issues are sorted quickly.
My wife and I feel that mum is well cared for and happy in her new home and this gives us peace of mind when we can't be with her.
Thank you to all the staff at Weavers Court for what you do every day.

Quite simply, providing first class care, all staff feel very much a part of our extended family.
The professional and dedicated care given by all staff is beyond what we could have hoped for.
Management know everyone and are approachable. Family atmosphere, lovely building . Wouldn't hesitate to
recommend. Dad has been with the home for two years now.
Reply from Andrew Long, Owner at Weavers Court Care HomeHello Ian. It is an absolute privilege to look after your father, who, as you say, has been with us for 2 years, being one of the first residents we welcomed to Weavers Court. We are delighted that we have been able to meet his and your own expectations of us over a sustained period, and we are sure these high standards will continue to be maintained. It was a struggle finding somewhere for the particular care needs of my aunt, but from our first conversations about organising an assessment I knew this was different from the other homes I'd interacted with. Both the care and management staff are kind and caring, and everyone knows my aunt by her
first name. The home is bright and jolly and much less 'clinical' than other homes I have seen, and I would be happy to recommend it to others.

Every single member of staff at Seacroft Grange, showed care and friendliness to my Mother. They were very professional, nothing was too much effort for the staff, particularly at the end of Mums life, they went above and beyond to ensure her comfort and dignity. They showed the same care to my Mum
as to my brother and I. I cannot recommend this care home highly enough.

Mayfield View

from Lucinda O (Daughter of Resident) published on 17 November 2025

Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5
Soft furnishings and expensive fixtures and fittings do NOT provide hands on care for residents, that is down to care staff who, in my father's case, had the authority to make care planning and evaluation decisions autonomously, which were way above their experience and pay-grade. When management were
involved, they talked the talk but little else.
When suggestions, and then ultimately complaints, were made, over a three month period little changed resulting in unsafe care for my father who continued to fall and injure himself until we pro-actively intervened and called 999 ourselves when he was taken to hospital and died 5 days later.
Be aware that on a residential unit, if end of life medication is needed, it is provided by community District Nurses and NOT by nurses within the same building on a different floor. This is standard care home practice but unless it is explained (which it was not) your loved one is left in a limbo of pain and distress.
Be aware - LAST INSPECTED 2019.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at Mayfield ViewThank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding Mayfield View. We are very sorry to hear about your father’s experience and the distress this has caused you and your family. We take all feedback, positive or negative, extremely seriously, as it helps us to identify areas where we can improve the quality of our care and communication.

We are deeply saddened by your father’s passing and extend our sincere condolences. We would like to assure you that the safety and wellbeing of all residents are our highest priorities. We acknowledge your comments about care planning, communication, and the provision of end-of-life support. Our processes and staff training are subject to constant review to ensure they reflect best practice and regulatory expectations.

Furthermore, regarding inspection dates, care homes are inspected according to the Care Quality Commission’s (CQC) scheduling and their regular review of data. We do not have any influence over their visiting schedules but do continue to work closely with them to maintain and evidence high standards of care.

We appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention. If you would be willing, we would welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly so that we can better understand the details of your experience and take appropriate action. We understand you have made contact with our Compliments and Complaints Team previously, and we encourage you to do so again via complimentsandcomplaints@careuk.com if you wish to discuss any further concerns, however the Senior Management Team are also glad to listen to any additional issues or worries face to face if you are comfortable with this.

In general the care home is good. Excellent activity staff who support and encourage the residents and are warm and friendly. In general the care and support team on the floors are kind and caring.
When care uk took over it was anticipated that fresh food would be cooked at the home and more fresh
food would be available this hasn't happened, this is one area I would like to change. In addition I would like one specific television company for all residents made available there is a cinema room which could be used to facilitate this.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at Seacroft GrangeThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're so pleased to hear your kind words about the activity team and care staff. It’s wonderful to know that their warmth, encouragement, and dedication are making a meaningful difference in the lives of the residents.

We also truly value your constructive comments regarding the dining experience and television service options. Your expectations around the availability of fresh food following the transition to Care UK are completely understandable, and we’re sorry to hear that this aspect hasn’t yet met those expectations. Please know that your feedback has been shared with our catering and operations teams as we continue working to improve our services.

The suggestion regarding offering a specific television provider and making greater use of the cinema room is also appreciated. We are always looking at how we can enhance the resident experience and will take this into consideration in our ongoing planning.

We’re grateful for your honest input, it helps us continue to grow and improve. If you’d like to discuss your suggestions further, we’d be happy to hear from you directly. Please feel free to get in touch with the home’s management team. Best wishes.

Very pleased with the care and attention that my mother receives at Seacroft Grange. Comforting to know she's looked after and respected by all the staff hence my 5-star review. However, on a separate note, I am disappointed and at times frustrated with the handling of financial aspects of her care
since the acquisition by Care UK and centralising of financial management.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at Seacroft GrangeThank you for your thoughtful review and for taking the time to share both your positive experience and your concerns. We're truly heartened to hear that your mother is receiving the care, respect, and attention she deserves at Seacroft Grange. We also want to sincerely acknowledge your feedback regarding the financial aspects of care following the acquisition by Care UK. We understand how important transparency and efficiency are in this area, and we regret any frustration you've experienced.
