My Godmother became a resident of the home in January 2023. Although she cannot take part in any of the activities at the home, because she is bedridden, she is very comfortable and happy there and feels that she is being well looked after. She loves to engage with the staff members who are aways
going to see her to make sure she is okay. The home is very welcoming and the staff are really friendly and always helpful. The food is very good and if there is nothing on the menu that she likes, they are always happy to give her something different. It's a pity that she can't engage in the activities as there is something happening every day. A couple of years ago she had a particularly bad health scare and we thought we were going to lose her but the care and support she got was amazing. We feel that we made the right choice for her knowing that she is very well cared for.

My mum has lived at Weavers Court for 3 years and is so content as it really feels like HOME to her and also to all the family when we visit. She has gone from strength to strength.
The staff have been so patient, caring and loving to her and I see that they are the same with all the residents. They
watch out for every little change in mood and health issues, and quick to respond and rectify situations.
Events and activities are well thought out for residents who want to get involved.
Mum is no longer struggling and isolated. She now lives in a happy home with good food and lots going on. Thank you

When I had to consider my mum ( Marjorie ) moving into a care home due to the passing of my dad and her in the middle stages of dementia I was overwhelmed by it all.
I went to visit Weavers Court and I was so impressed by their compassion, helpfulness and the willingness to help my mum move there
The
care they give my mum is amazing and it is 100% The best home around

My Mum has been a resident at Weavers Court for two years now. Whilst putting a family member into a nursing home is never something you want to do, we know that for my Mum it was the right time and that Weavers was absolutely the best choice as her new home. We have never regretted our choice.
The
care she receives is wonderful. Taking care of my mum is not always easy and presents challenges for the nursing and care staff, but they carry on giving her the love and support she needs, calling on their vast experience and involving the medics for input as required.
The team of managers, admin staff, activity coordinators, domestic staff, hairdresser, caretaker and chefs all provide amazing support in their own ways and do the most wonderful work.
We feel like we are listened to and supported as a family.
Reply from Sarah Kunica, General Manager at Weavers CourtThanks so much for your review of Weavers Court, We are so thankful that we continue to receive the support of families, Care is never an easy decision to make however our staff strive to continue to care and support love ones in our care along with families.

From our first contact with the home, the impression has been of a professional and friendly environment. All the staff have a helpful, nothing is too much trouble attitude and look to make your loved one and there family feel at home. Mum has settled in so quickly and loves the chats with the staff,
who although extremely busy take the time to sit and listen to mum, she loves the interaction.
The home is always very clean and tidy and although very new, it is well maintained and any issues are sorted quickly.
My wife and I feel that mum is well cared for and happy in her new home and this gives us peace of mind when we can't be with her.
Thank you to all the staff at Weavers Court for what you do every day.
Reply from Sarah Kunica, General Manager at Weavers CourtThank you so much, David, for your amazing review. Your Mum is an absolute delight and has settled beautifully. I will pass this on to our amazing team. Thank you once again, it really means a lot to us all at Weavers Court.

The staff work hard to meet the needs of the residents and are very responsive. There are also monthly meetings for residents to meet and talk with the management team. The home provides facilities for a group of relatives and friends to meet regularly for mutual support. I think all of this is really
positive and a good sign of the home striving for high standards. There have been some imaginative additions to the activity programme including a visit from a miniature pony which was a great idea. A major challenge for my mother as well as other residents is boredom so more activities with an emphasis on intellectual stimulus would be very welcome. Activities which encourage and facilitate interaction between the residents to help them socialise more would also be great as many find it very difficult to make friends at this stage in their lives.

I have been visiting a friend in weavers care home for the last 18 months . Whenever i arrive I always have to buzz to be let in once inside I then have to sign in so staff know who's in the building at all times. The staff always make you feel welcome and are always engaging and encouraging with
residents. The house keeping team are continually cleaning and rooms are spotless. When there I have noticed staff treat residents with care support and dignity meeting individual needs. Menus are on tables and show a good choice of meals on the day .Drinks and snacks are available for guests and residents at all times. There is always activities going on which residents are encouraged to take part in. Residents are frequently taken out on trips which all seem to enjoy. I like that weavers have a social media page and activities and outings are put on so you can see friends and relatives taking part and enjoying themselves when you're not with them . Well done to all.
Reply from Andrew Long, Owner at Weavers CourtThank you very much for your comprehensive testimonial. You have touched on some important aspects of life in a modern, luxury care home which still has to cover security, safety, hygiene and hospitality but most importantly, empathy, activity and stimulation. Your friend is a lovely lady to look after and we are delighted to be able to help the family, who because they are abroad, very much appreciate your visits to see your friend at Weavers Court as well. Your feedback is invaluable to the continued motivation of our whole team at Weavers Court; who are so dedicated to their work.

Just pleased my husband is being looked after and cared for so well. The staff are also very kind to me because I find it so difficult to see my husband struggling with Alzheimer's Dementia. Weaver's Court is such a welcoming home to visit.
Reply from Andrew Long, Owner at Weavers CourtWe are very pleased to be able to look after your husband. Irrespective of him living with Alzheimer's, he is still a perfect gentleman and a pleasure to care for. I hope he has been able to enjoy the snooker and the fine weather recently. It is not quite Bridlington but the Weavers Court gardens have been basking in sunshine. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us on all counts and we are only too happy to help.

The decision was made for my grandad to have to come into care after having numerous falls at home and being deemed to be unsafe.

When we came into the home it is beautiful and clean and the staff were all lovely. I work in care so I knew what I was looking for and I noticed that he had no falls

equipment in place, I made enquiries with the staff in duty and asked for these things to be put in place due to the number of falls he had had and also because he was a very high falls risk.

Unfortunately these things were not implemented and my grandad had two further falls within the space of an hour which ended up with him being hospitalised. If the correct equipment had been in place these could have been prevented.

I feel that my grandad was let down by the home in this instance as they were aware of the falls before he was admitted to the home and that was why he was coming in.

The staff themselves were lovely and there was one member of staff in particular that was excellent.

Reply from Andrew Long, Owner at Weavers CourtThank you very much for sharing your thoughts via review. You are correct in identifying that risk, as we did on admission. Achieving the balance between promoting independence and managing risk remains a constant learning process for us and we appreciate your valuable feedback to help us with this. We are sorry that you feel your Grandfather was let down, as we always try to do our very best for each individual that comes to live with us. Since your Grandfather's stay with us in March 2024, we have reviewed our admission procedures and updated our process, reflective of the elements you have highlighted. We thank you for your positive feedback about the staff and this will certainly help to motivate learning and improvement.

Amazing place! The ethos of excellence and care is evident through everything they do from start to finish. The staff are extremely experienced and knowledgable. Attention to individual needs. Excellent communication with relatives, patient and kind. The whole place is energetic and full of life. Beautiful
surroundings and quality in everything. Nothing is too much trouble. They don't pretend to care-they actually do care. We are so glad we found this place. They have created something uniquely special. My mum loves it.

It is the most difficult task to write a review regarding Weaver's Court Care Home. It is quite natural to seek fault or criticise any area that one is reviewing, however at Weaver's Court this is impossible for the simple reason this care home is really a 10-star retreat reminiscent of a luxury hotel.
It includes the most caring of staff who give their very best. The decor and facilities infuse a luxurious atmosphere providing much more than one could expect.
This care home contains top-class facilities, too numerous to mention. Beautiful laid-out bedrooms, and en-suite bathrooms, all developed with care for the residents. The reception area provides comfort and cleanliness.
The reception staff are so kind, caring and informative and these qualities are reflected throughout when "more than expected" is experienced. It provides the confidence to leave your loved ones in comfort, care and in experts hands. Indeed a happy place, I give Weavers Court the highest marks, ten out of ten.
It is obvious that the design, the layout and the detail have been carefully created to achieve a peaceful, contented and ambient result.
Reply from Andrew Long, Owner at Weavers CourtThe whole care team at Weavers Court strive to do their very best at all times. Your review will genuinely give them encouragement and faith in their abilities. We are proud to be able to help you and your wife, and it is heartwarming to see you and the family visit frequently and enjoying your company and the company of other residents. Your observations on our property specification are much appreciated. We are privileged that you have entrusted your wife to our care.

Mixed experience. My mother with dementia was in respite care with a view to finding somewhere permanent.
During her short 2-week stay there were a few concerns about attention to detail when putting the care plan into action e.g. applying cream to dry skin, and always providing a cushion to support
her posture to prevent back pain. However, these were all things that could be improved over time with feedback. I am not sure how well the menu was suited to a vegetarian diet, as unlike the main menu the meals were not as varied or always unprocessed.
My main issue was their policy of not dispensing health supplements, even with a doctor's note and for this reason, I have given an unsatisfactory score to management even though this is their director's policy and not a reflection of the Manager's service which was supportive.
Following her stay we communicated directly with the policy director and referred her to the CQC guidance on this to investigate however they never replied making it unsuitable.
Reply from Andrew Long, Owner at Weavers CourtHi R, we are very sorry that you felt that you had to give us this score for your mum's two-week respite care in October 2023. We felt that we had tried our best and always had good communication with you to ensure your mum's care needs were met and she was settled and enjoyed her stay. It is unfortunate that you felt that you had to score 2 for the management in regard to the health supplements. As a registered care home, we are heavily regulated and we do have to operate to NICE Social Care Guideline (SC1) Managing Medicines in Care Homes. We would like to reassure you that, our Quality Director did send an email to CQC for advice on this however they did not respond and as we did not hear from you again, we thought that you had found an alternative placement. We wish you and your mum well in finding a different placement.

My mum has previously had 4 weeks of respite care in the autumn of 2023. A deterioration in her health has meant that she has now become a permanent resident and is so pleased that she could return to Weavers Court. Her care needs now mean that she requires more support and we are very pleased that
she has the best that we could wish for.
She has already been able to use the hairdressing facilities and enjoyed a special themed evening meal when we were also able to join her.
Reply from Andrew Long, Owner at Weavers CourtWhilst your mum's care needs have reached a point that she needs to be with us permanently, we are of course delighted that she has come to live with us at Weavers Court. Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.737)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.737) out of 10 for Weavers Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 17 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 16 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.837 for Weavers Court is calculated as follows: ( (184 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) + (10 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 203 Ratings = 4.837
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Weavers Court is based on 16 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2, which has been reached with 16 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
