My sister and I looked at numerous care home options in Aberdeen and the surrounding areas.
From the start, over the phone including follow up calls, and our first visit to Tor na Dee, Milltimber, it was by far and away the most professional and friendly service we found. On arrival, we were greeted
by all the staff in a friendly manner and we found the home itself warm, clean and welcoming. My mum is taking a while to settle, but there doesn't seem to be any stress or concern over this and we are assured the staff are taking care trying to make things as easy as possible for her. Being able to visit anytime is fantastic and there always seems to be plenty of familiar staff faces ready to assist and being us up to date on how things are going. Being able to bring pets in is crucial for mum and the resident bird, Snowy, at the reception area is lovely.
Mum's room is bright and airy and overlooks the garden which she loves.
Reply from Helen Stone, Reviews Team at Tor-na-DeeThank you so much for taking the time to share your experience Heather, and for your kind words. It was an absolute pleasure to help guide yourself and Lorna through the initial process, and its our privilege to have the opportunity to support both Mum and yourselves as she settles into her new home. Kindest regards, Helen

Prior to my Brother-in-law arriving at TOR-NA-DEE initial discussions with management were carried out professionally and i was impressed with the welcoming and friendly environment. The open door policy for visiting is great as it fits in with other visits i have in the area. The staff are all very
helpful and seem to have a good relationship with my Brother-in-law. They also communicate any changes in a prompt manner.
Reply from Helen Stone, Reviews Team at Tor-na-DeeThank you very much for sharing your feedback John, we really appreciate your kind words. We are loving having the opportunity to get to know your brother-in-law, and we're as delighted as you are with how settled he is at Tor Na Dee.

From our initial discussions through to my father now being a resident, the care home staff have been really helpful and supportive.
My dad is settling in well, the environment is helping him get some stability and the 24/7 support is both comforting to him and ourselves.
I can only confirm our initial
feelings that this is the right place for my dad.

Both my husband and I felt very comfortable at Tor na Dee after our first visit and that continued throughout. The welcome we received was excellent and the staff were very caring and patient. My husband was very settled and happy as there were lots of activities on the go which he enjoyed. The staff
also put together a lovely selection of my husband's photos and helped me with the computer. All in all, very good.

The welcome my mother received on her admission was warm and considered. Staff were very accommodating and made sure they had all information and equipment necessary to meet her needs and an ongoing assessment has been welcomed. The staff are very approachable and keen to help and have made the transition
period for my mother as smooth as possible. This experience has been as pain free for my mother and ourselves as a family, as we could have hoped for. Thank you to everyone involved.

I visit Mowat every second day and it is always a very pleasant experience. From the minute you enter the home you are usually greeted warmly by a member of staff and made to feel very welcome. The entrance itself is bright and cheerful and there are no unpleasant smells which I have experienced in
other homes. The staff are always friendly and willing to talk and it is always easy to find someone. Overall it gives off a very happy atmosphere and it is certainly a home I would like to be admitted to if it ever comes to that and I have made this known to friends and relatives.

I visit Mowat court fairly regularly. It's a lovely home, the entrance is very clean and bright which creates a relaxed atmosphere. The staff are all friendly and make you feel welcome. They regularly organise events for the residents who are able to attend. A very nice home and I wouldn't mind staying

My Mum has been a resident at Tor Na Dee for a year now. Recently she has had a few medical issues which the staff have dealt with extremely professionally. They have kept me up to date either in person while I'm visiting or by phone immediately there was a need to do so.
I can't thank the entire
staff enough for the care and support they give Mum. In addition to this they are extremely caring and supportive to me too which is very much appreciated.
Every time I go in I'm greeted with a smile and a quick chat before I see my Mum. In particular I would like to give a special mention to Maryjane who has worked very hard to not only build a relationship with Mum but also with me. She's an absolute angel.

Dad has been in care at Mowat Court for over a year now. All staff are very kind and caring and have got to know Dad over the past year. There's lots of activities going on in the home for residents who are able or want to participate in. A bright, kind and caring environment supported by a very
friendly team of carers, domestics, nurses, admin and management. My sister and I honestly don't know how we would have coped over the past 12 months. Dad is content, well looked after and cared for, with all medical needs addressed sympathetically and promptly.

Mum has been in Mowat Court now for five months and I can't imagine anywhere better for her in this locality. I visited several options before settling on Mowat Court and am very glad we did. Unlike the others, there was nobody here waltzing about in a suit with a clip-board. The emphasis is very
much on the clinical care of the residents, and the staff are just superb. When mum arrived, she was in a precarious state, bed-ridden and requiring assistance with virtually every function. She was unable to hold a knife and fork and I'd been attending to her and feeding her since my father (who was her carer) had passed on. A few months later, mum is feeding herself and has even put on some weight. I have a photograph of her on Christmas Day where she is sitting in the lounge at Mowat Court wearing Rudolph antlers on her head and quaffing a glass of Pinot Grigio like she was a teenager! I feel fortunate to have mum here and the staff all feel like family - they are simply the best!

Great Carehome, friendly and attentive staff always on hand when we visit. Plenty of varied activities from dancing, baking to outings. Food is always of a very high quality and plenty of it if anything the potions are maybe in the large side. Decor is lovely and we were able add personal photos, bedding
etc to the room.
The lady in reception is extremely helpful and friendly, the staff we see every week are always pleasant and accommodating.
There is absolutely nothing we can fault about Mowatt Court

My Dad has settled very well at Mowat Court. The staff are friendly and professional and nothing is too much bother. They treat the residents with respect. There is a homely atmosphere and when I visit it feels like I am visiting my Dad in his home, able to make us a cup of coffee and sit in the kitchen
