My mum is frail and has had frequent medical issues during her time as a resident in Tornadee. The staff have been very caring, attentive and friendly. They keep me well informed and involved. They always have time for a catch up when I arrive.

Overall Experience

Five stars is not enough to express how happy our family is with Tor Na Dee. From the minute I called this beautiful care home I was met with warmth, understanding, genuine compassion and kindness.
Our tour with manager Helen was such a beautiful experience, Helen actually listened and wanted to know everything about our loved ones she even took notes! The staff were absolutely beautiful, everyone of them smiled and said hello as we walked through.
We decided on Tor Na Dee and recently had our loved one spend two weeks respite there, the rooms are renovated, homely and comfortable with big personal bathrooms and so much more!
Helen and her team cared for our loved one with so much respect and love, we cannot thank you enough team Tor Na Dee, you are by far the best care home in Aberdeenshire.

Overall Experience

When it became necessary to look for a care home for my mum the care system was alien to me. The responsibility of choosing somewhere was a bit daunting.
On my first visit with the Customer Relations Manager at Tor Na Dee I was put at ease and given all the information I needed to make an informed decision. I could not have made a better choice. After one week I saw a big difference in my mum.
There's a nice atmosphere at Tor Na Dee. The building is purpose built, bright and spacious. The staff are always cheery and welcoming and are proactive in identifying any potential issues and dealing with them. It's very reassuring that there are nurses on hand and comforting to see the level of attentive care shown to the residents.
There's an interesting activities schedule if the residents chose to take part.

I would highly recommend Tor Na Dee.

Dad was offered a place temporarily as he waited for placement to Mowat Court to join his wife of 65 years. There had been pressure to Discharge from his local hospital due to NHS Moving On Policy. I reached out to Customer Services manager who helped with a solution. This felt very supportive.
He was well supported especially by a member of staff [of Ukrainian origin] who seemed to establish a positive relationship with him and took a keen interest in his personal preferences and motivation to maintain some independence in self care. All day staff were very welcoming and supportive to me as a visitor.

Dad sometimes expressed some frustrations with night staff none of whom I met in person.

My wife has been in Tor-na-Dee for eight years now and have always felt so lucky we managed to get her in there, it is the most amazing place, all the staff are so nice & attentive & attentive to the residents which I see for myself on every visit. Bearing in mind, the present decline of my wife's dementia, it's the cleanliness, the food, and the close attention of the staff that makes my wife's condition that bit easier to live with

From the first contact at Tor Na Dee when we were met at reception we were made to feel at ease and very welcoming by all the staff, i have been so impressed by how professional and caring everyone is.I thought my wife would take a long time to settle in but with the staff being so good, welcoming and knowledgeable immediately felt at ease, I was contacted early next morning and in the evening to let me know how she was doing which was greatly appreciated. The room is lovely and the gardens easily accessible. I cannot speak highly enough of the friendly staff who have made such a difficult transition for the both of us so smooth and easy.

My mother in law was diagnosed with Alzheimars disease and living alone became increasingly difficult for her. Following a fall and broken arm the hospital wanted to discharge her at very short notice. With her painful arm in a sling going back to her own home was simply not practical. We needed somewhere near where she livex quickly and we approached Tor Na Dee who couldn't have been more helpful. They went out of their way to help in what, for us, was an emergency situation and my mother in law was admitted two days later
The home itself is well run, with good food and clean and well appointed rooms. Nursing and caring staff are excellent as are the admin team. The home also has a close and effective relationships with local GPs and social services which is important.

Overall Tor Na Dee is an excellent and caring place and I have no regrets in having admitted my mother in law to their care.

My aunt was admitted to tor na dee in June. All the staff I met were very caring and compassionate and very helpful, couldn't do enough for you and set your mind at rest. Since moving in my aunt has settled in very well and loving every minute of her time there. She has told me of outings in bus and all sorts of activities in front room. Very satisfied with her care there good to know she is happy and well looked after

Moira, Sally, and Carole were extremely friendly and helpful in moving my dad from the care home in Telford to Mowatt. Moira helped me and the family with the transition and made it very smooth for my dad, David. Dad is now more settled in the Mearns unit. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and show compassion towards my dad.

From 1st making contact to the moving in and getting my parents settled everything has been dealt with very professionally and with so much care.
Both rooms that my parents have are spacious and very well maintained with them being freshly painted, new furniture and carpet too.

Tor Na Dee is bright, airy and welcoming. My mum settled quickly and is happy there. She often comments on how lovely the staff are and how much she likes living there. My father was in Tor-Na-Dee for a weeks respite. As He is still independent he was a little hesitant at going in but circumstances didn't allow him on this occasion to stay at home.
Overall, he was very impressed with his whole experience. He was especially complimentary about the care staff saying they did an excellent job and were very happy and kind. He especially liked Keysha(hope it's spelt right). He was impressed with the food every day and enjoyed going to the dining area. He got out into the garden whilst he was there which he loves. He left thanking everyone telling them he'll book himself in for another "holiday" later in the year.

Overall Experience

My mum is very well cared for. She is treated with warmth dignity and great attention. I am very happy that she is in such a caring and safe environment.
I visit every two weeks and am always greeted and well informed by the staff on any concerns / issues. I am also phoned if there are any health concerns or doctor visits. Hence I feel assured and confident in my mum's well being.

My sister and I looked at numerous care home options in Aberdeen and the surrounding areas.
From the start, over the phone including follow up calls, and our first visit to Tor na Dee, Milltimber, it was by far and away the most professional and friendly service we found. On arrival, we were greeted by all the staff in a friendly manner and we found the home itself warm, clean and welcoming. My mum is taking a while to settle, but there doesn't seem to be any stress or concern over this and we are assured the staff are taking care trying to make things as easy as possible for her. Being able to visit anytime is fantastic and there always seems to be plenty of familiar staff faces ready to assist and being us up to date on how things are going. Being able to bring pets in is crucial for mum and the resident bird, Snowy, at the reception area is lovely.

Mum's room is bright and airy and overlooks the garden which she loves.

Overall Experience

Prior to my Brother-in-law arriving at TOR-NA-DEE initial discussions with management were carried out professionally and i was impressed with the welcoming and friendly environment. The open door policy for visiting is great as it fits in with other visits i have in the area. The staff are all very helpful and seem to have a good relationship with my Brother-in-law. They also communicate any changes in a prompt manner.
