Darlington Court is such an amazing place. My mother has been there a couple of years and we have been so pleased with all aspects of her care. The activities they put on are so varied. She may be cooking in the morning and then playing skittles or being entertained by singers in the afternoon. Every
day is different. I can look on social media and see photos of the activities and can also see on an app what she has done each day and a short comment. All these things help me to continue to feel involved.
The food is always well prepared. My mother is on a soft diet and the chef takes such care care in presenting her food on the plate so it looks appetizing which then encourages my mother to eat. Thank you to all the staff.

My husband left hospital in January after suddenly being diagnosed with Parkinson, and deteriorated extremely quickly. Unable to walk unaided.
After looking at a few homes my family and I decided Darlington Court was our 1st choice. Luckily there was one room available.
He was visited in the hospital
by 2 of the staff from the home to check it would be suitable for him.
It was then arranged by them for a hospital car to take him directly to the home . His room had already been changed from pink to blue in preparation, and all his photos and memorabilia were soon put in his room.
His medication is being monitored well and being adjusted as necessary.
There is a daily activity program, a lovely secluded garden and a nice dining room with regular menu changes.
Snacks and drinks are always available.
Visitors are welcome at anytime with a lovely lounge area to use.

Dad arrived in October, after a challenging hospital stay. The team made the admission process as smooth as possible, doing a great job getting him settled in.
Staff treated Dad as an individual, spending time patiently talking to us about his care and doing their absolute best to make him feel at home.
The team on Dad's floor was impressive. During his stay, the carers were all so patient, supporting Dad with all his challenges. Particularly at the end, they did a first-class job in helping Dad but also providing guidance and support to us. They were reassuring, honest, and unfailingly professional. We really appreciated practical support ranging from chasing missing hearing aids to guiding us through the preparation of end-of-life plans. It all helped to make Dad's final days as comfortable and peaceful as possible.
We appreciated the tranquil environment, the garden, and the quality of the home. A safe well-run place. We couldn't have asked for better quality care.
Reply from Samantha Chandler, Reviews Team at Chichester GrangeThank you for your kind and thoughtful review. Moving Mum into Chichester Grange a month ago was a huge and difficult decision for our family, especially with her advanced Alzheimer's. However, the team at Chichester Grange has been absolutely amazing at helping her settle in. They are so kind and professional, always finding the time to chat with
us about her care. Close communication between us and the team is really important to us and we love using the app to see what mum has been up to each day.
We know she is safe and well-cared for, and it is reassuring to see her engaging in the activities - she particularly enjoys the music, singing and art sessions. Mum is lucky enough to have family close by and she loves it when they pop in for tea and cake in the on-site cafe or a walk in the gorgeous gardens. We are so grateful to everyone there for making a tough transition so much easier for all of us.
Reply from Samantha Chandler, Reviews Team at Chichester GrangeThank you so much for your kind review. We know how difficult this decision can be, and we’re so pleased we’ve been able to support your mum and your family.
It’s great to hear she’s settling in well, enjoying the activities, and that our communication and app updates are helping you feel reassured.
Your words mean a great deal to us. Thank you for trusting us with your mum’s care.

Mum was welcomed with flowers, smiles and excitement. She was whisked into her new home. This helped soften what is a difficult transition between homes. All the staff were attentive and made her feel special and welcome.

The care at the home is good and the residents are treated as part of the family

and not an inconvenience.

There are some real characters at Ayton House, residents and staff alike and it has been a pleasure approaching the end of mum's first month at Ayton.

My Dad was admitted quite urgently back in January after being told we likely had days left with him. It was a difficult time, but the staff could not have been more reassuring, kind and welcoming. He improved significantly following his admission and he is doing well four months on. He enjoys the interactions
from staff; the care and attentiveness he receives is wonderful. We visit regularly and staff are just as welcoming to us - they really are the heart of the atmosphere there. My Dad is happy there and you cannot ask for more. Thank you to all the staff for all you do!

My father came to Ayton House for a day visit and was so impressed that he was happy to move in there and then! This from someone who didn't see the need to move into a care home and took some persuading to even visit for a day! Dad moved into Ayton House on 6th January 2026, settled in very quickly,
is being well looked after and is very happy there. He enjoys the lovely food and has taken part in some of the activities and trips out. ALL the staff are very friendly and helpful, both to residents and family members. Nothing is too much trouble for them. As my father's dementia and confusion progresses, it is reassuring for us (and him) to know that the staff are keeping an eye on him and helping him when necessary 24/7. Ayton House itself is a lovley building - clean, comfortable, spacious and welcoming. More like a luxury hotel than a care home!

My wife has been resident at Martlet Manor for almost a year having arrived from hospital in a pitiful state, barely able to stand. Within days she regained her confidence and balance. I have throughout been most impressed by the ongoing care shown by all members of staff; they are constantly cheerful
and attentive. The environment in the home is cosy, clean and welcoming. Both my sons agree with this assessment.
Reply from Rose Grover, Reviews Team at Martlet ManorDear Peter,
Thank you for your kind review. We are so pleased to hear about your wife’s wonderful progress since joining us, seeing her regain her confidence and balance is a testament to why we do what we do.

I will be sure to share your lovely comments with the whole team, as they take great pride in maintaining a cheerful and attentive atmosphere. We also appreciate your feedback regarding our activities, as we are always looking for ways to improve.

Kind Regards,

Ayton House Care Home holds a deeply personal place in our hearts, as it was the home for both of my parents during the final chapter of their lives.

From the very beginning, the staff showed patience, compassion, and a genuine understanding of their needs. They treated them both with dignity and

kindness, taking the time to learn their routines, preferences, and the little things that brought comfort. It meant so much to our family to know they were being looked after in a safe and caring environment.

We will always be grateful for the care, respect, and humanity the staff at Ayton House showed to both of my parents. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ayton House to anyone looking for a place where their loved ones will be genuinely cared for.

Having searched extensively to find the right care home for my father, Ayton House has been the perfect fit with such warm and professional staff to care and provide assistance in my father's post-stroke rehabilitation.
From the moment he arrived, the team provided great reassurance to all the family,
of the care my father would receive. Much time was taken to explain the level of service and how his needs would be assessed and accommodated.
I know my father was greatly reluctant to leave, most probably as he was enthused by the changing daily menu on offer, however he is continuing to make progress with his recovery and happily visits to join some of the stroke events which are hosted at Ayton House.
If he needs any further period of care, Ayton House will be our first option for a return visit.

My wife had entered the Grange in October on a respite basis, but unfortunately, she was Sectioned because of some psychotic episodes. After a period of care in the NHS including 9 weeks in a hospital following a broken hip she returned to the Grange in March.
Almost immediately upon her return,
her Alzheimer's improved measurably and her general health has started to improve. I believe that she is now much more settled having her own room, and having attentive carers that treat her very well is helping her wellbeing. They are also looking after her medical needs, and I have a high confidence level that she will be more comfortable long term at the Grange.
I cannot stress to much that the staff are both very helpful and knowledgeable, and whilst it is a large facility the staff know who you are and make sure that you are posted on any developments with, in my case my wife.
Reply from Samantha Chandler, Reviews Team at Chichester GrangeThank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re delighted to hear that your wife has settled well since returning to Chichester Grange and that you’ve seen such positive improvements in her wellbeing and comfort.

The Chichester Grange is everything you want from a care home. Caring, cozy, helpful, warm. It was incredibly hard making the decision to move mum into full time care but whole team team did an amazing job helping both mum and I with the transition. I know she is safe and well looked after. The care
team are so gentle and have endless patience. The cafe downstairs is perfect spot for friends and family to hang out with mum and the garden is lovely to get some fresh air. The activities are a great and I know mum esp. enjoys all the music and singing. Five stars!

My dad and step-mum are currently at Darlington Court. My dad has dementia and my step-mum is now paralysed from her waist down. My dad has flourished since his admission. He looks like a different person. His emotional and physical needs are being tended to with such care and kindness by all the staff.
From the carers and nursing staff to cleaners, chefs, receptionists, entertainment staff and volunteers. It's a fantastic caring environment which feels like home. I wish I was able to name the staff who go above and beyond the call of duty, but you will know who they are if you ever need help with your loved person. Thank you all for your kindness.
