The care, support and love offered to both our relatives and to us daughters was outstanding. Whatever their role, every member of staff treated us with sensitivity and immense kindness during our relative's stay, and on his sad passing. Nothing was too much trouble, and many individual members of staff went over and above for us all. The atmosphere and culture of the home were so positive and caring.

I was very well cared for during a respite stay of two weeks. Staff were very caring and friendly, and the food was excellent. There are nice common areas to meet other residents. I enjoyed my stay very much.

I am very happy with the way my mother is looked after and cared for. I receive regular phone calls updating me on her care and asked if I have any concerns. If an incident occurs eg. a fall I am always kept well informed of any treatment and action that needs to take place.

Its my auntie's 3rd week in Mill View. I've seen tremendous change in her from, the 1st week of longing to go home, to the next week of calling her room her 'House'. Staff are warm. My aunties enjoys it when staff stop by for a chat. Room is kept tidy. Food could do a bit better. But overall, its pleasant stay for my auntie.

We are very happy with the care provided for my mum at Hill View. The staff are all lovely and friendly and treat her with the utmost respect. The activities are engaging and fun, and she has forged some good friendships at the home. It is great to have the cafe downstairs so that visitors can have some quality time with her in a nice environment.

We could not have found a better home for my Aunt after she had a disabling stroke in 2022. For the next three-and-a-half years, she was cared for at Mill View by the most professional and kind team of staff. My Aunt had a particular passion for owls, and a highlight of her time at Mill View was when the staff arranged a day out for her at Groombridge Place to see and hold some live owls. Many of the Mill View staff went well above the requirements of the job. Towards the end, when my Aunt was in hospital, at least two staff members visited her on their days off. It was my Aunt's wish to get out of hospital and return to Mill View as soon as possible, and this was arranged when there were no more medical options. My Aunt could not have been more delighted to be back home at Mill View, and she died peacefully one afternoon about three weeks later after a normal morning. On behalf of the family, I wish to thank all the staff of Mill View for their wonderful service and care.

Look no further than Mill View if you are looking for a great place for your loved one to live their life to the full in a comfortable and welcoming environment.
In the 18 months since my mother has been there we have seen just how very caring and kind the care staff are; watched residents of all abilities enjoy the entertainment provided by the marvellous Lifestyle team; and have had any questions answered by the management, admin, reception and medical staff.
The domestic and catering staff are all very friendly too and do an excellent job.
We have been kept informed at all times about any issues that have cropped up with my mum's care, and I do recommend that families be as involved as they are able to so that your loved one feels that their new home and family have all merged together.

Mill View provides a genuinely caring "village" atmosphere. The cafe area is the icing on the cake and a place for residents and families to meet and make friends. No regrets choosing Mill View!

My relative has been at Mill View for 18 months. In all that time I can not fault the caring and professional staff who go above and beyond at all times and in all situations. The care home provides a welcoming, safe, and well equipped indoor and outdoor environment for both the residents and visiting families. The leisure staff are amazing at providing imaginative and fun activities throughout the day often providing tailor-made activities for residents based on their own individual interests and needs. Regular updates enable the care team, professionals, and relatives the opportunity to ensure that the best possible provision is put in place for residents. Relatives feel that they are involved in their loved one's care. I am truly grateful for the exceptional care that my relative is receiving at Mill View.

We were recommended to Mill View by Elizabeth's home carer. We dropped in unannounced and we were met and welcomed straight away. Reception controlled the entrance doors and first impressions were of a bright, cheerful and clean reception area. and lovely cafetoria.
A management team member met us, listened to our needs and immediately gave a full rundown of the care home followed by an inspection of the facilities and bedrooms. We felt very much at ease and were impressed by the demeanour of all the staff. Everyone greeted us with smiles and there was a genuine relaxed and happy feel.
The bedroom was a good size, clean and well decorated with a good sized en-suite attached with a good countryside view. The dining room was in full swing and there was a selection of delicious looking meals. The lounge and dining rooms had large windows with lovely views of the country setting. There was always some sort of entertainment or event going on.

All the patients looked clean and settled. We knew straight away that Elizabeth would be well cared for and would feel at home and I had no hesitation in choosing Mill View for my sister's care.

Had a lovely visit to see my very dear friend! Great to have the Cafe Shop for a coffee with my friend - all staff made me feel very welcome! Lovely Lady playing the harp which was is nice to hear and made everything feel very relaxed! The 'Happy Hairdresser' was chatting kindly to the residents and she individually did their hair! Can't think of a nicer place to be if you have to be in Care Home. Nice lot of activities for residents too.

Mill View has provided excellent care to my mother since she arrived last April. The care and support she has received has been second to none and it has given me, my father and the rest of our family, peace of mind in the knowledge that my mother is comfortable, safe and happy. The staff, at all levels, are fun loving whilst displaying a very high degree of professionalism and a full understanding of what excellent caring and safeguarding really look like. During my frequent visits to my mother, I regularly see staff show empathy to the residents, recognising their different needs and often going the extra mile to make a difference to the residents' experience in Mill View. I can't recommend Mill View enough!

My mother spent her last 18 months at Mill View. I can honestly say that my family and I were blown away by the level of care, professionalism, expertise and compassion that all the staff displayed, pretty much all of the time.
When we know there is a 'crisis' affecting the industry, it is a pleasure to be able to write a positive review. I'm not quite sure how the leadership at Mill View constantly maintain an inclusive culture, but they do.

Thank you to everyone for the care you provided and environment you created for Mum.

It is a huge relief to know that my wife is in safe hands. As previously main carer for her I was responsible for her many falls and Mill View has restored my well-being as well as my wife's. Mill View staff have gone far beyond their duties and shown extreme kindness, patience and tenderness.

Very impressed with our initial experience of Mill View. The staff are so friendly, willing to help and willing to listen to any concerns. The home itself is airy and bright, unlike other care home we visited. Mum's room is well appointed with a little patio area she will be able to sit outside in warmer weather. All of the visitors Mum has had have contacted me to say how lovely Mill View is and how much more relaxed she seems to be. We have already been very confident in recommending Mill View to a friend who has been searching for a good care home for their elderly parent.

My father came/chose Mill View as his home for the last five years. He lived downstairs for the first couple of years but sadly, started to develop dementia after having a minor stroke and had to move upstairs for more personal care. My dad absolutely loved it at Mill View and always told me how wonderful the place was and how happy he was. He sadly passed away two weeks ago at the age of 92 but the staff were amazing, as always, to the very end.

Trish Banks
Trish BanksJob Title:Home Manager

I am a dual-qualified and registered adult and children’s nurse with 40 years of experience. I spent 25 years in the NHS in a variety of roles, from Registered General Nurse to Paediatric Ward Manager. I left the NHS in 2007 after completing a Level 5 Leadership and Management course in order to manage a care home.

Being a Home Manager carries huge responsibilities. You have to be a good communicator and have a passion for caring for others. However busy it gets, I take the time to walk around the home and speak with residents, relatives and colleagues. It always reminds me of what differences we're making in people’s lives. My team is amazing, and I look forward to working with them every day.

When I’m not at work, I love spending time with my husband and two rescue dogs who we adore. When I can, I also like to travel up north to see my children and grandson. But most days you’ll find me pottering in the garden or curled up with a good book.
