Mill View

As a full-time carer for my ex-husband, I contacted Mill View in March 2019 enquiring about respite care in June. The staff were super helpful and I was able to book three weeks respite care in June/July 2019. Due to certain circumstances, this respite care was extended for a further two weeks after which it was deemed necessary for him to be a permanent resident. The whole procedure was carried out with much kindness and great professionalism.

I have found all the staff at Mill View to be very professional, very kind, very helpful, very caring and all work extremely hard. Nothing is too much trouble for them.

Initially, I found the situation very upsetting but I have received great comfort in knowing that he could not be in a better Care Home where he is happy and he is safe.

I am extremely grateful to everyone at Mill View and cannot thank them enough.

I am more than happy with the care my mother receives and have regular phone calls to ensure I am happy. I am also informed if anything regarding her care changes.

I always enjoyed my visits to Mill View.

My parents started at Mill View for an initial 3-week respite care after both being in hospital for some time. I reviewed 3 care homes for this purpose and Mill View was by far the best and most warming and friendly atmosphere. From day one, it was clear that my father was enjoying the care and companionship of the staff. My mother took a little while longer to settle but was, in part, due to a UTI which was diagnosed quickly, following a GP visit and now she too seems happy and settled. They had become very reclusive struggling on in a 3 bed house and frightened to go outside for fear of falling. They are particularly enjoying the entertainment and on my last visit, where seen holding hands and singing along, with the performer, to 'We'll meet again'. Not bad after 68 years of marriage!

However, some parts of the building would benefit from being re-decorated, some of the lighting could be improved.

There is a happy atmosphere at Mill View and the staff are attentive, kind and friendly. It’s a huge relief for me to know that my mother is in a safe environment and that her specific needs are being well cared for. She likes her room and enjoys the food and being able to go to the café for coffee and snacks.

I am very happy with the quality of care and the facilities, plus the availability and responsiveness of the staff. I have no doubt that we made the best choice for Mum.

Very good care. Majority of staff very attentive and caring. Father regularly checked in and repositioned. Wish more consistency in staff.

The food offering could be improved but on the whole, my father is happy there.

This care home has been the perfect place for my Mum. The staff will go out of their way to ensure my Mums needs are met. The only thing I would mention is the turnover of staff, there seems to be a continuous flow of new staff.

A lovely second home for a demented and delirious mother. I am grateful to have such a good home so close to mine.

The staff, the activities and the facilities at Mill View have always provided excellent support for my mother.

A pleasant, inviting environment. Clean, modern facilities, the staff are friendly and helpful. We leave there feeling assured that Mum is in good hands.

Absolutely great care home, staff are amazing. Dad has improved immensely since becoming a resident. We can relax knowing dad is in a safe and happy environment.

The caring from the staff goes above and beyond what would be expected - always smiling, helpful and there for my Grandmother when she needs them. It puts my mind at rest to know may Nan is being so well looked after.

Mill View is a real home from home. Everyone is treated as an individual with their own needs. It certainly is a warm and welcoming place to come into. Not in any way institutional. The catering is particularly good, very appetising and a great variety. The staff are all really friendly, caring and professional and appear to go just that bit further. A lovely place when respite care is needed.

My mother who is able to a degree thought this would not be a suitable place for her and I was inclined to agree but she needed care and we didn't really know what to do. We looked at four places and Mill View stood out for us...Staff were understanding and compassionate. We decided to try it out. My mother is very healthy, cared for, treated with kindness and dignity and we are most welcome and there 5 times a week at any time we like. My mother realises that this is not an old folks prison but a place where she has company and is very happy, healthier than ever and a much brighter person! Well done to Mill View! I sleep at night!
