Thank you to all the staff at Mill View for the way they take care of my aunt and for that matter, me! Nothing is too much trouble for them. The home is very well run and maintained. The staff are super friendly and efficient across all levels and create a very homely welcome. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

I have found the staff have always been friendly, approachable and accessible. They make a lot of effort to accommodate individual preferences for activities and food. No issues with the running of the home at all.

I wanted to let you know that when I came to visit Dad last Thursday I found Mill View to be very welcoming and an enjoyable place to be, (as much as it can be).
I spent over an hour at the home and with Dad and he was initially having his hair cut, then he went to see the children from the Toybox Nursery and then went upstairs to join the Zumba class. It was so wonderful to see so much going on in the home. I loved the new sign-in Doyles about 'place of work and residents home'. All these little touches are so important and make such a difference. Dad's room was clean and tidy and he was well presented.
I just want to thank you and your hard-working staff for all you do at Mill View to make the environment as comfortable and as enjoyable as possible. It is so important for relatives to know that their loved one is a safe and secure and happy environment and I felt very happy when I left.

I also met the activities lady for the first time and thought she was wonderful.

My father's health has deteriorated, and he now needs more nursing care. All the carers upstairs, downstairs and the administration staff have all been brilliant in helping us deal with this.

We are so happy we made the decision to place Dad at Mill View.
All the staff right from the office, cleaners, kitchen staff and carers are all brilliant. Extremely friendly and helpful, and Dad is treated with care and dignity.

My husband had Parkinson's, Lewey Boday Dementia and had had a stroke. When I could no longer care for him at home, my daughters and I chose Mill View to carry on with his care. The staff were wonderful, treating him with kindness, respect and love, especially after a second stroke on 30th October 2019.

My husband joined in with many activities when he could and enjoyed a hot chocolate in Doyles Cafe while chatting to his visitors. The last 9 months of his life were the best they could possibly be and we will always be grateful for that. Mill View is a very special place.

Mill View gives off a very relaxed, friendly, sunny and caring impression and atmosphere. Everyone, whether staff or resident, gives off a warm, relaxed feeling. My Mother-in-law is very happy in the home and well cared for by all the staff. It is lovely to sit and chat with my mother-in-law in the coffee shop or on the sunny patio in the summer.

A friendly, caring home with good facilities and dedicated staff.
The home offers a good selection of activities for residents.

I was particularly impressed by two recent activities; one where they asked residents what they wished for, and then made it happen and another where they brought eggs to hatch and have now kept the chickens. Great ideas which bring smiles to the residents.

The care my mother gets from all the staff at Mill View is excellent. The staff really seem to know my Mother and help her with her daily needs.
A lot of thought is put into activities for the residents such as bingo, crosswords, cinema, singing.
The in house hairdresser and coffee shop are great. The food is varied, and the residents can eat in the dining room or their bedroom.

My mother’s room is light and airy with a view of the garden and fields in the distance. I would recommend Mill View to anyone looking for a relaxed, caring, well-staffed care home.

My dad has been in Mill View for almost a year now. Following a long stint in hospital, it was decided that, as a family, we could no longer provide the full nursing care he now requires.
Making that decision that he wasn’t to return home was incredibly hard.
We researched and visited various care homes but our instincts were telling us Mill View was right for him and so far we have been really pleased with the care he receives.
He has settled in really well. The staff made him feel welcome from day one and he’s made some real bonds. Some staff have a made real effort to get to know my Dad and genuinely care for him which means so much to all of us.

I’d would genuinely recommend Mill View.

My wife is a resident at Mill View since April 2019. She is looked after extremely well, the staff are always friendly and caring with very few problems. I am aware of how hard this work is since I was her sole carer for 7 years. They are to be admired for their dedication to the difficult but vital work that they do.

Extremely happy with the care my mum is receiving, she spent approximately 15 months in a dreadful care home. The difference in mum is amazing she really is being cared for. We finally have some peace of mind knowing she is safe, happy and well cared for.

My mum is in Mill View she has advanced dementia and gets very confused easily and finds it difficult to communicate but I cannot fault any of the care she receives. The staff are all really friendly, kind and attentive, reassuring mum when she gets upset by putting an arm around her to make her feel safe. I have already recommended Mill View to a few of my friends for their family members. When My dad and I had to make this really hard decision to look for a home for mum we met with the family liaison lady who was extremely kind, and very understanding listening to our huge list of questions, she showed us around and made us feel at ease and felt this was the best place we had seen by far.

Since my mother moved to Mill View, I have been very impressed by the care, professionalism and commitment of the staff. Their kindness in helping her to be happy and safe while living with dementia is greatly appreciated by our family. They have worked hard to help her settle in her new home and have been very sympathetic to my mother's individual needs. We looked at a number of care homes and the management and care team at Mill View were outstanding. My experience since my mother moved in, has only reinforced that opinion. Every single person working at Mill View I have met has shown great humanity and compassion.

Would like to see father encouraged to go to more activities, he does need a lot of coaxing.
He eats really well, but sometimes when I have been in he has not eaten eg baked potato, as he hasn't been able to cut up.
Loss of slippers and shoes is a definite problem.

Whenever I have asked to change dad or help, they are very kind and nothing too much trouble.

As a full-time carer for my ex-husband, I contacted Mill View in March 2019 enquiring about respite care in June. The staff were super helpful and I was able to book three weeks respite care in June/July 2019. Due to certain circumstances, this respite care was extended for a further two weeks after which it was deemed necessary for him to be a permanent resident. The whole procedure was carried out with much kindness and great professionalism.

I have found all the staff at Mill View to be very professional, very kind, very helpful, very caring and all work extremely hard. Nothing is too much trouble for them.

Initially, I found the situation very upsetting but I have received great comfort in knowing that he could not be in a better Care Home where he is happy and he is safe.

I am extremely grateful to everyone at Mill View and cannot thank them enough.

Trish BanksJob Title:Home Manager

I am a dual-qualified and registered adult and children’s nurse with 40 years of experience. I spent 25 years in the NHS in a variety of roles, from Registered General Nurse to Paediatric Ward Manager. I left the NHS in 2007 after completing a Level 5 Leadership and Management course in order to manage a care home.

Being a Home Manager carries huge responsibilities. You have to be a good communicator and have a passion for caring for others. However busy it gets, I take the time to walk around the home and speak with residents, relatives and colleagues. It always reminds me of what differences we're making in people’s lives. My team is amazing, and I look forward to working with them every day.

When I’m not at work, I love spending time with my husband and two rescue dogs who we adore. When I can, I also like to travel up north to see my children and grandson. But most days you’ll find me pottering in the garden or curled up with a good book.
