an agreed hourly charge for this service.

I contacted Mill View at a very difficult time as my Dad had been admitted to hospital and we were advised he would no longer be able to live on his own. All the staff were so helpful and understanding. They really went the extra mile to ensure that Dad was able to move in. It was a very challenging
time and nothing has been too much trouble. Dad has now been a resident for a month and everyone has been so kind and supportive.

Mill View stepped in and offered my husband and myself 2 weeks of respite care. Even though this was expensive for me to fund myself, it was worth every penny. I was unable to find anyone else to help me, and I was desperate for some rest. I am so grateful for the care they took of my husband and the
way they offered to help me. I will recommend Mill View to anyone, without restriction.

Outstanding care home. Each and every one of the staff are amazing. My mother was there for her last 10 months. It was here I got to spend some quality time with her, the staff did an outstanding job of caring for her. It was the best I had seen my mum in years. It is a great home and the staff always

I was so impressed by the care, respect and professionalism shown towards my mum. It is such a difficult decision to go into a care home, but all the staff made the move so friendly that I felt reassured it was the right decision for my mum. Everyone from the admission team to the nurses and the care

My mum has now been a resident at Mill View for the last 7 years and throughout all that time the care she has received from all the staff at Mill View has been excellent. Mum is always happy and smiling when we visit and I do not think it is too much to claim that had she not been at Mill View then
she would no longer be with us.


This is down to the fact that she is well cared for and there are always activities to take part in and to keep the mind alert.


Throughout the COVID pandemic, the standard of care shown to my mum has not altered so thank you to all the staff in what were extremely challenging times.

Mum has been here since February and due to current visiting restrictions, it is difficult to get a real understanding of Mill View or the daily activities available for the residents. Overall the staff appear to be very helpful and take time and effort to understand Mum’s needs. Her main complaints
seem to be the food but as I have not seen the standard of the meals, I cannot comment further.
There have been a couple of instances where we have had to ask several times for things to be done, an example being around the changing of the bed linen. I had to ask numerous times for a change of sheets as they were not changed for over 2 weeks despite being added to her care plan. Hopefully, this has now been resolved and they will be changed regularly going forwards.
I have completed my ratings based on limited information gained in the first couple of months.

I feel that my mother is receiving first-class care from all the staff at Mill View and we could not wish for more, during these very stressful times. Due to the Covid restrictions we have not been able to travel from Scotland for visits for the last 18 months, but have been able to still communicate

I wanted to let you know that when I came to visit Dad last Thursday I found Mill View to be very welcoming and an enjoyable place to be, (as much as it can be).
I spent over an hour at the home and with Dad and he was initially having his hair cut, then he went to see the children from the Toybox
Nursery and then went upstairs to join the Zumba class. It was so wonderful to see so much going on in the home. I loved the new sign-in Doyles about 'place of work and residents home'. All these little touches are so important and make such a difference. Dad's room was clean and tidy and he was well presented.
I just want to thank you and your hard-working staff for all you do at Mill View to make the environment as comfortable and as enjoyable as possible. It is so important for relatives to know that their loved one is a safe and secure and happy environment and I felt very happy when I left.
I also met the activities lady for the first time and thought she was wonderful.

We are so happy we made the decision to place Dad at Mill View.
All the staff right from the office, cleaners, kitchen staff and carers are all brilliant. Extremely friendly and helpful, and Dad is treated with care and dignity.

My husband had Parkinson's, Lewey Boday Dementia and had had a stroke. When I could no longer care for him at home, my daughters and I chose Mill View to carry on with his care. The staff were wonderful, treating him with kindness, respect and love, especially after a second stroke on 30th October 2019.
My husband joined in with many activities when he could and enjoyed a hot chocolate in Doyles Cafe while chatting to his visitors. The last 9 months of his life were the best they could possibly be and we will always be grateful for that. Mill View is a very special place.

Mill View gives off a very relaxed, friendly, sunny and caring impression and atmosphere. Everyone, whether staff or resident, gives off a warm, relaxed feeling. My Mother-in-law is very happy in the home and well cared for by all the staff. It is lovely to sit and chat with my mother-in-law in the
coffee shop or on the sunny patio in the summer.

Job Title: Home Manager

I am a dual-qualified and registered adult and children’s nurse with 40 years of experience. I spent 25 years in the NHS in a variety of roles, from Registered General Nurse to Paediatric Ward Manager. I left the NHS in 2007 after completing a Level 5 Leadership and Management course in order to manage a care home.


Being a Home Manager carries huge responsibilities. You have to be a good communicator and have a passion for caring for others. However busy it gets, I take the time to walk around the home and speak with residents, relatives and colleagues. It always reminds me of what differences we're making in people’s lives. My team is amazing, and I look forward to working with them every day.


When I’m not at work, I love spending time with my husband and two rescue dogs who we adore. When I can, I also like to travel up north to see my children and grandson. But most days you’ll find me pottering in the garden or curled up with a good book.
