Mill View

My father came/chose Mill View as his home for the last five years. He lived downstairs for the first couple of years but sadly, started to develop dementia after having a minor stroke and had to move upstairs for more personal care. My dad absolutely loved it at Mill View and always told me how wonderful the place was and how happy he was. He sadly passed away two weeks ago at the age of 92 but the staff were amazing, as always, to the very end.

Unfortunately, my mother passed away in December 2023 at Mill View Care Home. I cannot thank the staff enough. They were all so supportive and showed the utmost respect. Whilst my mother was alive she enjoyed all the wonderful facilities on offer. She was cared for with such kindness and professionalism. As a family, we were very impressed, so grateful to have found such a well-run care home.

Having reviewed five homes in the area, we opted for Mill View and have not been disappointed. The level of care is excellent and the staff strive to make the residents feel relaxed and welcome. There is a full schedule of activities for all residents should they wish to partake and encourage them to do so. The menu is varied and prepared to an excellent standard. In short, I feel we chose well and dad has settled in well. We made the right choice!

We cannot recommend Mill View more highly. The care and attention given to our mum during her just over five years stay was excellent. We had the peace of mind that she was being well looked after and we were kept well informed of any changes to her routine or health. The staff are all very friendly and attentive.

This care home is very comfortable for its residents, and the carers are excellent.

I have been a resident for several months and have found the staff consistent in their excellent range of care. I am particularly impressed by the interest they take in my hobbies, all of which adds to the comforting sense of community that exists here. I have absolutely no regrets about selling up to come here, having shed the sometimes onerous tasks of house ownership.

All the team have shown amazing care, patience and understanding during an initial challenging settling-in period with my mother. She is now happy, safe, very well fed and more active than she was ever able to be at home. A huge relief for all the family.

I contacted Mill View at a very difficult time as my Dad had been admitted to hospital and we were advised he would no longer be able to live on his own. All the staff were so helpful and understanding. They really went the extra mile to ensure that Dad was able to move in. It was a very challenging time and nothing has been too much trouble. Dad has now been a resident for a month and everyone has been so kind and supportive.

Mill View stepped in and offered my husband and myself 2 weeks of respite care. Even though this was expensive for me to fund myself, it was worth every penny. I was unable to find anyone else to help me, and I was desperate for some rest. I am so grateful for the care they took of my husband and the way they offered to help me. I will recommend Mill View to anyone, without restriction.

Mum has been in Mill View since October 2021 and since then we have had peace of mind that she has been taken such good care of. We have nothing but admiration and praise for the dedicated staff who have been working under such difficult circumstances. They are always so friendly and helpful and kind to Mum.

I am very impressed with the care and attention my sister is receiving at Mill View, not only the medical care but social care too. The staff are very kind and carry out their duties with dignity and respect. My sister is very happy there and has settled in well. Thank you all very much.

Outstanding care home. Each and every one of the staff are amazing. My mother was there for her last 10 months. It was here I got to spend some quality time with her, the staff did an outstanding job of caring for her. It was the best I had seen my mum in years. It is a great home and the staff always give you a warm welcome. I can’t give it enough praise. I would like to name them all. A big special thanks to one member of staff in particular. I was so impressed by the care, respect and professionalism shown towards my mum (and Dad previously). Mum got her smile back during her time there, with great surroundings and plenty of company. Keep up the good work.

Mum was well cared for and was happy at Mill View, making new friends and enjoying all the numerous activities and trips out in the minibus that were on offer to her. I too always received a warm welcome when visiting Mum.

I have always found the staff to be very helpful and caring. My aunt is happy in her new surroundings and is making new friends. She has now joined in with some of your various activities, which is good. I think you all do a sterling job.

I was so impressed by the care, respect and professionalism shown towards my mum. It is such a difficult decision to go into a care home, but all the staff made the move so friendly that I felt reassured it was the right decision for my mum. Everyone from the admission team to the nurses and the care assistants made mums stay comfortable and dignified. My mum has now been a resident at Mill View for the last 7 years and throughout all that time the care she has received from all the staff at Mill View has been excellent. Mum is always happy and smiling when we visit and I do not think it is too much to claim that had she not been at Mill View then she would no longer be with us.

This is down to the fact that she is well cared for and there are always activities to take part in and to keep the mind alert.

Throughout the COVID pandemic, the standard of care shown to my mum has not altered so thank you to all the staff in what were extremely challenging times.
