Skylark House

It's well run like comforts of an en suite bathroom and the comfortable lounge and excellent food in a well-appointed dining room. The outstanding care and consideration of the staff at all levels including the activities that were planned for each day and a programme set and their interest and attention was outstanding. I enjoyed so many coffees and teas.

Skylark reception is always very welcoming. My husband is well cared for by staff who seem to really want to be at work & genuinely care for the residents. The cafe area is a lovely touch & it gives the resident somewhere different to be for an hour or so. The entertainment is excellent & very much appreciated.

On approaching "Skylark" one immediately gets a warm, friendly feeling. The home is secure and one is greeted by warm, friendly reception staff. The reception area, sign in/out book and quality decor and furnishing is homely and welcoming. There are skilled, kind and friendly staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. The rooms, ensuite allow for personal furniture and pictures, the entire residence is professional, clean, welcoming with an activity team, chefs cooking healthy food and my aunt is very well cared for and happy. We love Skylark. Thank you.

Gillian arrived at Skylark 24th April 2025 went into room with garden views and door access to garden, the staff were exemplary. Everything was done for her comfort and well being. She was included in all activities and sang to the songs. Sadly in August with no appetite and very low liquid intake it took its toll until on 30th August at 1143 she took her last breath with me holding her hand.

From the first interaction everyone was very friendly, polite & helpful. Dad is happy and well looked after. There are many different activities & events on offer. SEVEN days a week which really helps him fill his days. Any queries the family have had whilst settling him in have been answered promptly. The food is great and the coffee shop is a lovely touch as Dad can have visitors and it feels normal for him.

After a disastrous visit to another care home, we were so pleased with the way Skylark welcomed my father. The staff led by the manager are well trained and so caring of their elderly charges. They ensure that he lives a productive life and treat him with respect and kindness. I cannot praise them enough.

Amazing experience, my granddaughter is looked after so well and the staff are excellent. Very lovely rooms and everyone is so welcome.

It does not feel like an old people's home. The resident is so happy there because it is not what he expected.

Following a few weeks at another care home, Skylark was a huge improvement, and my father-in-law is now very settled. Skylark is fantastic.

The facilities are very clear and the care he receives is exceptional.

Couldn't ask for anything else. Friendly staff and residents can live their lives. Amazing!

Dad has a lovely large sunny room overlooking the garden. The nurses and carers are so kind, nothing is too much trouble. Any issues raised is dealt with immediately, whether it's a dietary issues, a health question or even just asking for a picture to be put up. The care/reception area is beautiful with 3 different snacks available daily for residents and visitors alike. Dad is always greeted by name and now really feels this is his home. The activities are varied, ranging from outings to talk, to arts and crafts or hand massages. And very importantly, Skylark smells nice and looks fresh too.

It's a very relaxed feeling in the home, and welcoming to relatives who visit. Very clean and always tidy.

3 Months ago I entered Skylark House after a life-changing fall. I was met with tender care and concern by the staff. My hobby is painting, however, when my son died in 2023 I seemed unable to do it anymore. The incredible activities team have encouraged me to pick up a paintbrush again. I now paint portraits and I have a challenge and purpose each day. Walking back to my room the other day a resident collapsed, I called and within seconds staff and nurses came from every direction. She was given immediate treatment and is fine. The last 2 examples show the extent of Skylark's care.

Following a two week respite stay my mother chose to come to Skylark House as a permanent resident. She is very happy there and always busy doing one of the many activities on offer. All of the staff are hard working and caring. She now regards Skylark as her home.

A lovely care home, with nice staff, mostly, I think the food is very good, but possibly needs more suitability for those who struggle to feed themselves. Clean, very well presented. Adequate parking for visitors, good reception staff and managers. Nice carers and kept well informed. One point is the lack of ability to contact easily when reception is not manned. Needs more staff.

My relative only came into Skylark this Autumn. I cannot share enough how wonderful they have all been to her and our family. We've been made to feel like part of a very happy and warm little community. The Christmas season has been nothing short of magical, including the delicious family Xmas meal that we were invited to. Even when my relative was taken to hospital for a short while, she was welcomed back with such genuine affection and support. This care home was an amazing find and my relative has found fun and happiness in her life again!
