other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

My mother moved to Skylark House on 1st September 2021 in order to receive palliative care.
Skylark is a modern facility, warm, welcoming and well managed. The focus of the staff is entirely
upon providing for the needs of their residents. Whether this be day to day social or welfare needs,
or in
meeting the more challenging healthcare needs as posed by someone like my mum.
It provides a lively and upbeat environment where residents are respected and treated as if they are
living in their own homes. I was astonished by the patience, consideration, dignity and standard of
care Skylark employees provided at all times.
I was able to visit frequently, no request was too much trouble, and as my mother's condition deteriorated, the staff remained focused upon providing her (and us) with the best possible care.
My mother passed away on 15th November 2021. I can only thank everybody at Skylark for the amazing work that they do.

I wouldn't think I could be happy in a care home, but I am! The food is very good! Staff are caring and loving! My room is beautiful and always clean! Very pleased!

Lovely building and very friendly and helpful staff. Many were exceptional and outstanding including carers, nurses, housekeepers and coordinators.
Annoyed though that I had to constantly complain to the management about the terrible television and Wifi reception before it was finally resolved and
given very poor excuses in return like "You're the only one that's complaining" - actually I was not.
Also complained about the shortage of drinking beakers and the fact I had to buy my mother decent pillows so she could be comfortable.
Food was patchy, some meals very good, some not very good at all.
On the last week with the lockdown, we became very concerned about what appeared to be our Mother's lack of response when talking on the phone and on the Friday asked for management to contact us to discuss our worries. No such call was received. Early Sunday morning emergency vehicles were called and on Wednesday morning very sadly she passed away.

Since my father arrived here 2 years ago it has been amazing. Dad has been settled, made friends and joined in with almost all activities.
I am made to feel part of the family and called by my first name by all the staff.

My father arrived in Skylark House in March 2018. The staff and residents made him feel secure, safe and at home so he settled in quickly, made new friends and has been very contented.
We have been impressed by the caring nature of the staff who treat everybody as individuals. The nursing care my dad
has received has been exemplary and we would have no hesitation in recommending Skylark House.

Food and drink, the new chef just commenced and new menus look very encouraging. I am a resident and have been at Skylark since May 28th 2018. Since moving here I have had a mastectomy operation and was looked after with kindness and dignity. The atmosphere is one of relaxation and happiness. Entertainment
is varied and enjoyable. When weather permits the gardens are well tended and are a pleasure to walk and sit in. Special occasions ie BBQ, Christmas parties are outstanding. I can only sing the praises of Skylark House, Horsham. Long may it continue.

My mother moved to Skylark House almost three years ago when her dementia meant that it was no longer safe for her to continue living in her home. I cannot say how much I and the rest of the family have appreciated the wonderful care and attention our mother has received. It has been a great comfort
to know that she was being well looked after and cared for. All of the staff have been fantastic.

My mother has now been in Skylark for six weeks, and we have been impressed with the care she has received on the nursing wing. The staff are very caring and after having visited several care homes in the Horsham area, I feel we have definitely made the right choice for my mother.

My mother has been in Skylarks since early August, at 88 years old, she was needing full-time care and was living on her own. I live in Australia, and so when she first entered Skylarks, I was a bit apprehensive. I knew that my siblings would have everything on hand, and they would only choose the best
for our Mum. I was so pleased to see that they had a facebook page, I could see photos of her joining in on the activities, intact I see pictures of her several times a week doing different things that the wonderful carers arrange. It is easy to contact her by phone, and when I speak to her she is aware that she is staying there and no longer asks to go back home. I visited her earlier this month, and so I was able to see for myself that she was very well. Her room is wonderful and so is the care home. It has beautiful grounds. I was able to take her out for lunch and coffee when I liked. Dogs are allowed in too, this is fantastic for the residents. Overall she is very happy there.

I have been very pleased with the care dad receives here. Most of the staff are very warm, kind and cheerful. Some are delightfully cheerful and enthusiastic others more quietly kind. I feel my dad is safe and very well cared for. He is becoming frailer and dependant and this has been dealt with real

Since arriving - have settled my father in. The staff have been extremely kind and attentive towards his needs.

My husband spent two months at Skylark House before he died in December 2018. He had dementia and had just recovered from sepsis when he arrived. He was very well looked after and plenty of activities mental stimulation. He died peacefully without pain and was looked after with loving care.

I joined the Skylark House team in 2016 as Deputy Home Manager in 2016. Care UK’s reputation as a respected care provider was well-known. It prioritises its people’s development and the wellbeing and happiness of all residents, and I wanted to join a company with that clarity of vision.


Being with residents is the best part of my job and I do everything I can to make a difference to their day. I start and finish every day with a smile, and that makes me happy.
I was thrilled to be named one of the top 50 leaders in care by Care Home Professional magazine. I’m so proud to have worked my way up from Care Assistant to Home Manager in eight years. I’m now determined to take Skylark House to an ‘outstanding’ CQC rating. I have a great team around me and we’re dedicated to residents’ happiness and wellbeing, and to fulfilling their dreams. I look forward to seeing you at Skylark House.
