We apologise that you feel your relative could have been encouraged more with mobility. It is very difficult to comment on each individual case as at times we have to consider the resident's choices and medical needs to if it is appropriate to mobilise. We are however happy to meet with you to discuss this and answer any questions that you may have. We have taken your comments on board regarding giving choice and variety to residents with special dietary requirements. Our new head chef is now in post and has already made positive changes. Please contact us for latest vacancies.
I qualified as a Registered General Nurse in Brighton in 1988, and I have been in the role of Home Manager since 2006, working for various care providers.
I worked for Care UK previously between 2012 and 2015.
When I was contacted to rejoin in 2018, I jumped at the chance to return to a provider that has a vision and values that align with my own.
As Home Manager, you need to be focused, dynamic and able to multitask but also have a vision and a sense of humour. It’s a bit like being an orchestra conductor – you need to be able to oversee different aspects of the home, whilst keeping the whole home working as one to make sweet music.
I love being part of this team, especially when we work as one. I feel proud every day knowing that we make a difference in residents’ lives.
Outside of work, I love spending time in the countryside and walking with my husband and our dog Pixie. The New Forest is my favourite place, and we often pop there for a day or an overnight trip.
