Ellesmere House is a strikingly modern, purpose-built care home located in the heart of Chelsea. The team provides nursing and residential care for older people, including those with physical disabilities or who are living with dementia.

The home is arranged into four separate bright and airy suites, each with its own dining room and lounge. Residents are welcome to enjoy the facilities at Ellesmere House including a cinema room, activity room and hair and beauty salon.

Outside are two secure sensory gardens with lawns and an area where residents can grow flowers and plants of their own choice.

The team spends time getting to know residents individually, allowing them to create personalised care and lifestyle plans, suited to each person’s needs.

other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

My mother has been at Ellesmere House for 9 months and overall I'm very disappointed with the management of this Chelsea home - superficially things look good but after the initial joy that your loved one has found a good home and is being looked after, the reality sets in. Mice running around the dining
room, old wobbly dining furniture, chipped crockery, overheated rooms with no air conditioning, threadbare carpet, foul smells throughout the home - in the lift and corridors, discarded furniture in the garden area etc. For the amount they charge you expect five star facilities and services - you get 3 stars at best. The food quality is mediocre. more like school dinners! I wanted nursing care and that is where the home succeeds.
The caring staff and nurses are lovely but they too need to see good leadership which is clearly lacking. An injection of genuine care would go a long way to improve this home. People before profit.

Ellesmere House is an excellent nursing home. The staff is kind, respectful and caring. My family and I have always had a positive experience when we visited and communicated with the staff. The team also listened to us, the family, in addressing any health issues for our family member. I am very grateful

The Nurses and Carers are so warm and caring. This is evident from the dedication they show to their residents. There seems to be a lot of activity going on, although my husband refuses to participate in it. The Care home management team also responds promptly to any issues. I have recommended Ellesmere
House to anyone I know who lives within RBKC if their family member is in need of a Care home. The Chelsea and Westminster Hospital is located next door, which is extremely helpful in case of an emergency.

I had an issue with staff using mobile phones and once reported, it had been dealt with accordingly and I no longer see them on their phone.


Two members of staff are honest staff members and I'm happy with their service towards mum.

A very close friend of mine was admitted to Ellesmere House some 18 months ago. During this time I have been pleased to see that the establishment is very well run; the accommodation and public spaces are well designed, clean and cheerful. I have built a rapport with many members of the staff, from
the charming people on the reception to the dedicated hands-on carers. I have found them all to be kind, considerate and highly professional. The personnel are the most important aspect of this impressive care home and to whom I offer my sincere thanks and heartfelt appreciation.

I lived at Ellesmere House from May 2023 to May 2024. I found the home to be very well run by the Management team. Furthermore, I received wonderful care from the carers and the nurses. They were all very friendly and extremely helpful and no request for help was too much for them to do. Moreover, the
activity coordinators offered a wide range of activities like keep fit and bingo but also brought people in from outside for live music, tai chi and church services. A truly wonderful experience.

I'm grateful to all of the caring and medical staff who took care of my friend during the final phase of her life, due to a terminal illness. Everyone involved did their best to make her feel as comfortable as possible. I also would like to thank the administrative staff for their help to me which was
given with attentiveness and understanding. We all know that the care sector is going through difficult times but clearly the staff do their very best to minimise the effect on the residents. Thank you all.

A very dear friend has been in the Ellesmere care in Chelsea for several weeks after being moved here from the hospital. The staff are amazing, so caring and kind. We have been overwhelmed today as she now has been allocated a permanent place. The manager has explained fully. She is so genuinely kind
and it shows how much she cares deeply about her residents.

My sister was a resident at Ellesmere for approximately 2 years. She passed away in February. The standard of care was exceptional, particularly in the latter months of her life, when my sister’s mental and physical condition declined significantly. My sister was treated with great care and good humour.
I was kept in touch with her condition by staff and the doctor regularly.

My mother, aged 100, has been very happy at Ellesmere House.
My first visit being shown around was excellent, as was the follow-up by management. The suggestion that I bring personal items was good. The room and bathroom are both large and sunny. The staff are so caring, always attentive and professional.

I was here for a short-term rehabilitation stay. It was wonderful to have peace of mind, with attentive staff and a safe and secure environment. The room was comfortable. The stay was very helpful in aiding my recovery.

The carers are excellent. The laundry cleaning staff and home handyman are all excellent. Workers from elsewhere are excellent. Nurses - one or two are not up to standard but the rest are excellent. Assistant Manager, Manager, Reception, and Finance are all excellent as was the medical care. The activities
are very good. The home is very good.

Job Title: Home Manager

I joined Care UK in 2018 as a Registered Nurse from the Bahamas. Since then, I’ve worked hard to climb the ladder to Senior Registered General Nurse, Clinical Lead and now Home Manager. A little while ago, I even won Care UK’s ‘Nurse of the Year’ award, which was a highlight!


Care UK is a great place to work: as well as being a leading care provider, the support it gives to its teams is exceptional. I’ve been supported to learn and progress and do as much training as possible, and I aim to empower my team in the same way, so they can do their best work.


I’m entirely dedicated to the residents’ well-being and ensuring they receive the highest quality care. Even the smallest actions can make a huge difference to a person and make them feel special and cared for. I always look forward to any opportunities I have during the day to chat to the residents and my colleagues here at Farm Lane and Ellesmere House.
