While the decision to move Mum into a care home was hard and extremely emotional, we can't believe how professional, empathetic and kind the whole team have been during the process of settling Mum in. We are lucky to be able to visit regularly, and it is like visiting an extended family. Mum is safe, secure, well cared for, stimulated and respected. The staff are very communicative, keeping me up to date with any issues that may arise. They are kind, thoughtful, attentive and extremely professional. L'Hermitage has exceeded all our expectations, and we are very grateful.

Reply from Rhiannon Freeman-Gray, Divisional Marketing Manager at L'Hermitage

Thank you so much for your kind words! This lovely review means so much to the whole team. It's great to hear how happy you are with the care 'your mum is receiving, and particularly lovely to know that visiting the home feels like visiting an extended family. Overall Experience
Our dear Mum has enjoyed the last three and a bit years in the incredible care of Beaumont Villa.
It is a very warm, comfortable and homely environment. All the staff are amazing from the laundry team to all the Management including all the carers, the support worker and the entertainment team who become family friends.
Many outings and events are celebrated throughout the year including balloons, banners and a special cake from the Chef on each birthday.
Over the months/years dementia needs and support changes and this is quietly put in place with care and respect.

As a family we will always be grateful for the wonderful care Mum received at Beaumont Villa.

Reply from Stuart Lamacraft, on behalf of the team at Beaumont Villa

My mum needed 3 weeks' convalescence care after a stay in hospital, and we were lucky enough to find L'Hermitage had a room for her. The manager and the deputy care manager were so helpful in helping us arrange for mum to go to L'Hermitage at short notice. On arrival with mum, the welcome we received was wonderful and all the staff couldn't have been more friendly or accommodating and mum's needs during her time there. It was a combination of the much needed convalescence care that mum required, including all the kindness and friendly faces, together with the lovely hotel like facilities that helped mum recover efficiently to go home. A huge thank you to all at L'Hermitage, as you all run and manage a wonderful place, and I have no hesitation in recommending you.

Reply from Nicole Howarth, on behalf of the team at L'Hermitage

My mum was admitted to the L'Hermitage care home in February 2025. Unfortunately she passed away on 4/6/25. I did write a review when my mum first moved in to say how wonderful the care was from the time of admin to the review. Now, I would like to say again, thank you each and everyone of you, you know who you are. Your empathy, expert care, professionalism and support during her 4 months she spent with you will stay with us, always. My mum was so happy with you saying, when she was able about how lovely you all were to her. I have told friends and family about how I would highly recommend your care home always, without any doubt, and hope that if my friends and family find their loved ones needing a home from home environment that if it is possible their loved ones would find it with you. Thank you all so much, I am indebted to you.

My mother-in-law was admitted four weeks ago and from day one my husband and I were met by a smiling, informative receptionist and numerous staff who could not do enough to make her comfortable and care for. The temporary manager and staff were all there to make the transition seamless. One member of staff in particular was brilliant in making sure shelves were put up for mu mother-in-laws photos and nit-naks and was always available when we needed help. Thank you all.

Reply from Home Manager, Home Manager at L'Hermitage

Thank you for your lovely comments. We're delighted to hear that your mother-in-law's transition to L'Hermitage Care Centre has been smooth and that you've felt supported from the start. Review of L'Hermitage from M S (Daughter of Resident) published on 11 June 2024 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

Although relatively short, the care for Mum by carers, nurses and support team was excellent, particularly over the final few days of her life. The nurses in particular were exemplary in the care of Mum and our family, explaining fully next stages in straightforward ways, obtaining medication and dealing with everything for us after Mum's passing. Unfortunately Mum was not well enough to enjoy the activities and facilities but they looked great.

Reply from Ronan Green, Home Manager at L'Hermitage

Thank you for your kind words and recognition of the team at L'Hermitage. We are sorry for your loss, and thankful we made your mum's last few days as peaceful and straightforward as possible. Your comments will be passed on to the team, who really do care from the heart.

Review of L'Hermitage from R O (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 28 May 2024 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

The staff are all just incredible, they go above and beyond the job role to ensure that residents are all cared for. It’s amazing to see my grandmother taking part in activities and chatting to people as she spent so long in her home isolated before she moved into the home. I love that the staff took time to organise a surprise robotic cat for her when she was missing her cat, it’s the little things that make it more than just a care home. For our family it’s been life-changing having the support and care from the L’hermitage community, they take a huge chunk of the pressure of caring for a loved one off your shoulders and give you the chance to just enjoy your time with your loved one.

Reply from Home Manager, Home Manager at L'Hermitage

Thank you for your review of L'Hermitage Care Centre. We are very touched by your kind, heartfelt words. The quality of care, support and warmth of the community are equally important to us, and your grandmother is a valued member of the L'Hermitage community. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Review of L'Hermitage from Michelle O (Daughter of Resident) published on 17 May 2024 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My mother went to L'Hermitage which she found difficult to cope with, however the staff who look after her are amazing, they have a laugh with her and they do everything they can to meet mum's emotional and physical needs. All the staff who look after the residents are friendly, extremely patient and considerate of their differing needs nothing is too much trouble. Meals are tasty and varied and Mum is asked what things she likes and they try to provide as much as possible. There are activities daily which Mum can join in with if she wants as well as trips out. The two ladies at the front desk are so warm and welcoming and always so helpful. The cleaning staff do an amazing job as I am sure its not easy getting everyone's clean items back to them! The revamp of the facilities has made the home feel even more like a home, it always has a lovely atmosphere and can't thank all the L'Hermitage team enough for the amazing care they give Mum.It's definitely the best nursing home in Jersey.

Review of Beaumont Villa from J L (Daughter of Resident) published on 12 March 2024 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience
I am very happy with my mother's care in Beaumont Villa. The staff are very kind and caring, though short staffed at times, they cope well. Since the storm some of the fencing has come down and not been replaced, anyone can walk into the garden area, this should have been a priority!

It means residents cannot walk freely in the garden, I was allowed to access the bottom door, due to me having mobility issues, not anymore. Activities, music and dog therapy, great home.

My father has recently moved into Beaumont Villa from another care home. I am very happy with the home, the staff are caring and attentive. They also do lots of different activities with them. They also keep you well-informed on how he is settling in. Plus he keeps telling me how nice and how happy he is living there. What more could you ask for?

Review of L'Hermitage from Rosemary C (Sister-in-law of Resident) published on 5 September 2022 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My overall impression is of a very friendly, personal and a caring home from home. The meals are tasty and varied. The activities are daily (very important), and the staff at the front desk are welcoming and very helpful. The staff who care for the residents are so friendly, patient and considerate of their differing needs and the open door policy enables those who are able to retain some independence whilst still being safe under the umbrella of your care system. The cleaning staff do a great job and then ensure facilities are such a bonus. Thank you for providing this wonderful facility,

My aunt considered that whilst most staff tried very hard to provide the best service they could, staff shortages put many under greater pressure than might be considered fair, exacerbated by some staff not pulling their weight.

Reply from Home Manager, Home Manager at L'Hermitage

We pride ourselves on the resident experience and take comments such as this seriously as it does not reflect the usual positive feedback we receive. We are interested in learning more about your aunt’s experience and will contact you shortly to discuss the matter further. Mum has thrived at L'Hermitage. She talks about the residents and staff as her 'family'. The staff are caring and work incredibly hard to ensure they enjoy all that life has to offer. From the minute you walk into the home it is very welcoming. It is the little things, from staff greeting you when moving around the home, the Facebook page which provides opportunities to engage with mum, to the display boards that make you feel part of the community. It is evident that the ethos is to care about the wellbeing of the whole family not just the resident in their care. Thank you to the wonderful team who care so passionately for Mum.
