During visits to the home, the atmosphere appears quiet and calm. My father is very happy living at Louth Manor. Staff are always friendly and professional and on the occasion where a minor issue is identified these are always rectified immediately.

My father, suddenly found himself requiring 24 hr care. Louth Manor had a room available and had a good reputation. He has a private room which is large and spacious, with private shower/ wc. He has taken some of his furniture and pictures from home. The staff are all very friendly and caring, from the office staff carers to the maintenance team. Dad enjoys his food and the daily menu offers a great selection and if he is feeling a bit off, they will provide something simple and fresh! We are very happy with Louth Manor.

The staff at this care home genuinely care about the residents. There is always plenty for the residents to do and there was a friendly community feel to the place. It was always exceptionally clean and smelled fresh. It has the feeling of a hotel and it was by far the best care home we visited. The food was also very good.

My husband has been for respite here on and off for about 15 months now and its the best care home for many reasons in my view. All the staff are lovely and caring plus great faculties.

This is the only place my husband will go to now He is very happy here which helps me enormously. Thank you Louth Manor.

My late cousin booked into Louth Manor for a weeks respite whilst I went on holiday,
1 week turned into 9 months as at the home my cousin had a beautiful large room, mobility electric bed, on suite wet/bathroom, lifts, 24/7 care, basically everything she needed so it was so much more comfortable and catered for her needs as she was suffering bone cancer

The staff are lovely not just to patients but also visitors

We all want the best care for our loved ones, and, in choosing a care home we might first be attracted to the many facilities, the luxury rooms, the restaurants etc. Louth Manor certainly has all of these.
But, in truth, life is a bit more complex than that, and what we really want for our loved ones is care love and protection when they are feeling vulnerable, a feeling of belonging, interaction and interest, in effect, a home from home.

My wife has been a resident in the Haven wing for over two years, and I visit almost every day, so I see most of what happens. No, it's not always perfect, but mostly it's very good and always the staff care for the residents in a respectful, professional, and loving manner. Just as you would at home.

Can't speak too highly of the care and staff at the home. Always welcoming.

The rooms always look neat clean and tidy. The notice boards seem to be kept up to date with varied and various activities. My aunt seems very happy.

Disgraceful, they are incompetent and are not safe to be looking after people! Medication needed not given, running out of the same heart medication twice in a week and giving dangerous medication that should not have been given as not chasing up information from doctors.

Reply from Lucy Blackburn, Home Manager at Louth Manor

The issues above were due to a mistake in the information provided by the GP practice and were rectified as soon as this was identified. We receive very positive feedback, as shown on this page, about the high level of care provided at Louth Manor.

My friend came into the care home as one of their first residents when they opened.
From day 1 she has been so happy here, very settled and pleased with the care and surroundings.
My friend has very high standards and all aspects have been reached at The Manor Care Home.
When I visit from walking through the door to leaving the staff are so courteous and welcoming.
I have been to view events here with my friends and I am overwhelmed at the effort that goes into entertaining the residents.
I regularly join in the exercise mornings which are such fun, certainly get the residents moving.

I would recommend The Manor to all friends and family, a truly wonderful care home with delightful, dedicated staff.

My mum has been in Louth Manor since February and is very well looked after by all staff, such as carers, managers, housekeeping, catering and the activity team. It has taken her a while to settle, but everyone has been caring, patient and supportive. She enjoys the food and mixing with other residents, especially when taking part in the activities that are organized every day.

My mother was in another care home and I was in a state of constant worry, I have never felt like that since she moved to Louth Manor. My mum has dementia and I moved her to Louth Manor because it did not look or feel like any other dementia unit I had seen. My mum has genuinely never been looked after better than she is now. The staff and management are always so helpful and put me at ease, knowing my mum is being looked after.

The home is beautiful, the food is great, the activities are tailored for all the residents and I would not have her anywhere else.

Mum came here with weightloss, Alzheimer's, and increasing mobility frailty issues. Since Nov. 23, she's gained weight, is happy, healthy, and clean.
She engages in fitness in the morning, many differing activities, and eats well.

She goes on day trips. Plus family activities are provided. I'm so happy she's here and would encourage anyone to consider Louth Manor.

My mother has been with Louth Manor Care Home since early January. If anyone said to me that she would look as she does and be as she is, I might have said 'get on with you!' The care and attention to detail is second to none. Her whole being has been transformed for the better and the staff do an incredible and dignified job. Five stars plus.

My mother was admitted to the home at the beginning of 2023 in very poor health, having lived independently all her life. She was unable to look after herself and was in need of full-time care. We chose Louth Manor Care Home as it was undoubtedly, in our opinion, far superior to any other home in the area. Since becoming a resident, Mother's health and well-being have improved beyond recognition and she now enjoys the high standard of fellowship and involvement within her new home.

In most respects, Louth Manor is very good and excellent in others. It is very comfortable with excellent facilities, and (subject to the comment below) the staff are friendly, helpful and respectful. However, staff shortages sometimes have a negative effect, for example, lateness in delivering drinks/food and medication. Generally, though we are very pleased and very thankful that our parent is being so well looked after.

Meet the Team (1)

Lucy Blackburn
Lucy BlackburnJob Title:Registered Manager

I joined Care UK through a transfer from another care provider and am proud to continue leading the team here at Louth Manor. I have completed all mandatory training, and I’m close to finishing my Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care.

Organisation, teamwork and problem-solving are central to how I work, and I always aim to ensure tasks and actions are completed to the highest standard by the end of each day.

I believe the most important qualities for a Home Manager are understanding, approachability and the ability to lead by example. At Louth Manor, I strive to be present, supportive and accountable every day, whether that’s guiding my team, offering emotional support, or spending meaningful time with residents. My favourite moments are the interactions with residents, seeing them happy, settled and enjoying life in our home.

My biggest career highlight so far has been managing my first home and achieving a “Good” rating in all areas from the Care Quality Commission. I also take great pride in supporting colleagues to progress in their careers, just as I have.

Outside of work, I enjoy dog walking, shopping, family time, cinema trips and holidays.
