Very patient with the family, and the trauma involved in moving a 93 yr old to a new residential home and meeting new people, it has taken 10 weeks - "Thank you everyone".
Apart from being at home (obviously!) (she) they have said "I', warm and comfortable".
Thank you for continuing to be so understanding

Since my dad has been in the care of broadlands his physical & mental condition has gone from strength to strength. There has been a constant challenge to find a balance with my dads medication which the staff have been constantly pro active to a point where I can now spend quality time with my dad
which I never thought was possible due to his condition. There have been certain instances where inderviduals (staff) have shown exceptional compassion towards my dad which I will never forget.
Reply from Joanne Rossiter, Head of Marketing at Broadlands Lodge Care HomeThank you so much for sharing such a heartfelt review. We're delighted to hear that you've benefited from more quality time with your dad since he moved in. Your kind words mean a lot to the whole team. I recommended Broadlands Lodge to friends following a very positive experience with my own Mum. Forget all you preconceptions about care homes. BL is a breathe of fresh air. The facilities are supber in terms of decor, rooms, choice of communal areas. But what makes it is the staff and management. Always
approachable and go out of their way to learn about each resident. Families and visitors made to feel very welcome, and there's always something going on. Thank you to the whole team.
Reply from Amy Batchelor, Customer Relations Manager at Broadlands Lodge Care HomeThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words. It truly means a great deal to the whole team that you've recommended Broadlands Lodge to others based on your experience with your Mum.We're so pleased to hear that you found the facilities, communal spaces, and overall atmosphere such a positive contrast to the usual expectations of care homes. Creating a welcoming, vibrant, and homely environment is at the heart of everything we do.Your lovely comments about our staff and management are especially appreciated, they work incredibly hard to build genuine relationships with each resident and their families, so it's wonderful to see that recognised. Thank you.

My friend has been resident here for two years. He loves it. The care he has received is fantastic. He can be awkward and grumpy sometimes because of his dementia but the carers take all in their stride with him making him laugh and change his mood. Nothing is too much trouble, and he, despite his reluctance
at first to come into a care home, recognises that he is safe and secure with a caring, friendly atmosphere, it's the best place for him.
Reply from Jan Gibbs, Regional Manager at Broadlands Lodge Care HomeThank you so much for your very kind feedback. We really do value your time to do this. Mum has temporarily been in Broadland Lodge whilst we wait for the home in Gorleston to open, and I would say the care she has received has been excellent. We have tried Mum in several homes previously for respite, and Broadland Lodge is by far the best we have tried. The staff are the most supportive
and caring I have come across. I can only hope and wish that the same standards are applied to the new one in Gorleston.
Reply from Jan Gibbs, Regional Manager at Broadlands Lodge Care HomeThank you so much for your very kind words. I am so pleased to hear how well your Mum was cared for in our home. I feel sure your Mum will equally enjoy her stay at Woodland Court. Another beautiful home with dedicated staff. I will make sure your feedback is given to the team at Broadlands.

The staff and carers are really friendly and super helpful. They are always willing to listen and adapt to make my father's stay pleasant. The food and menu look delicious and the rooms are large, designer and spacious. My favourite feature is the retainer bed which looks super comfortable and larger
than most. Dad is always treated with dignity and has built some lovely relationships with his carers. I know he is being looked after well.

My sister came to Broadlands Lodge Care Home from another care home where she wasn't happy. From the moment she walked into Broadlands Lodge, she was a changed person with the care from staff who made her welcome and soon was in a friendship with other residents. Every time we have been to visit here,
she has been happy and relaxed.

I have been extremely impressed by the services and staff at Broadlands Lodge Care Home. The facilities are clean, well-designed and maintained and beautifully decorated. The management staff have been extremely approachable and helpful, answering all queries and even accommodating Mum's cat into the
home! When we brought Mum here, the staff were so attentive and able to get an instant rapport with her, they knew all their residents so well, including all of their preferences and on my visits, I have seen the same staff members regularly and it is nice to get to know them. I can be confident that Mum is safe in their care.

My wife's experience was a very good one. Her room was very clean and tidy and always had clean bath towels and her room was spacious and plenty of cupboard space. The staff are always very polite and willing to help with anything. The menu was always a good choice and if you didn't fancy anything on
the menu you could ask for food of your choice. Entertainment and things to do were always plenty with staff being involved in some of the activities. My wife felt very safe and treated with dignity at all times. Management was always available when required.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.944)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.944) out of 10 for Broadlands Lodge Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 36 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 36 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.944 for Broadlands Lodge Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (403 Excellents x 5) + (24 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 427 Ratings = 4.944
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Broadlands Lodge Care Home is based on 36 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2, which has been reached with 36 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
