Mum was welcomed with open arms and very quickly made to feel at home. Her room is spacious and well-designed and great care has been taken to make sure residents have everything they could need. I cannot fault the staff who have made the transition to a home as smooth as possible and I would recommend
them to anyone.

The home is going from strength to strength, and a big part of that is one lovely member of staff in particular who has brought new activities and experiences to the residents. She is warm and welcoming (as are many staff). A lovely lady.
Special mention also for front of house manager, who is so welcoming
and kind.
The staff are all helpful and hardworking, and we are so grateful to them.

My mum has been at Broadlands Lodge Care Home for sixteen months. During her stay, her care has been faultless and she is very settled in there and most importantly, she is very happy. She has made friends in there and gets along with all the staff.
The facilities are excellent, as is the level of
care, and the staff are very friendly and interact with my mum in a lovely manner, always jovially to make her stay fun. The activities have increased recently and this is also a huge positive for her stay and the care home as a whole.

My father has been at Broadlands Lodge Care Home since August 30th 2023 and I have found all the staff to be welcoming, caring, friendly and professional. The facilities are excellent and having doctor, dental visits, as well as chiropodist, and hair salon visits have been an added bonus. The facility
is kept very clean and the cleaning staff do a great job. The laundry and the cooking staff all do a fabulous job too. I am very pleased with the level of care at Broadlands.

Mum has recently moved here. So far the family are very impressed. The attention to detail and care shown by the team are outstanding and very reassuring. Mum has already gained weight which is very positive. There seems to be plenty of staff to assist at all times and they interact positively and reassuringly.
As a difficult decision to make at a vulnerable time of life but the whole team has been brilliant.

I have found everyone at the home to be extremely friendly and helpful. The residents are well cared for and have a lot of freedom within the home. The meals are both healthy and varied and the residents are encouraged to participate in regular activities. It is also apparent that the care home establishes

Dad has been in care since January 2023 (Broadlands). Since March of this year, after a change of management, there has been a significant understanding of Dad's care needs, which are now all being met by the caring staff with respect and dignity. Dad was very poorly in March of this year and I am sure
without the care and support of the manager and staff, I honestly don't think Dad would be with us today. Thank you Broadlands Lodge.

After visiting many care homes, seeking one worthy for my very loving wife, we unexpectedly dropped by Broadlands Lodge Care Home and was made to feel at home. The warm introduction and tour of the care home were superb and thanks to the member of staff on the front desk, we had no doubt this was the
home we wanted my wife to be taken care of. Although we have only been here for under a week, we know we have made the correct choice. The manager has been exceptional, helping my wife get into the home, even though the late discharge in the evening, she made it possible for my wife to settle into this superb care home.

Such a friendly, caring, homely care home. The management and whole team are always friendly, professional and take pride in the care they provide for their residents. Also keeping us informed, either over the phone or in person when we visit on the welfare of our relative. Nothing is ever too much

After a recent emergency hospital admission due to a fall, my mother was discharged at short notice. Unable to go home, as we had no care plan in place for her, Broadlands Lodge took her in for respite care. All of the staff are kind and helpful and the facilities are excellent. My mother would now
like to stay on a permanent basis. I have no hesitation in recommending Broadlands Lodge.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.944)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.944) out of 10 for Broadlands Lodge Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 36 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 36 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.944 for Broadlands Lodge Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (403 Excellents x 5) + (24 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 427 Ratings = 4.944
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Broadlands Lodge Care Home is based on 36 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2, which has been reached with 36 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
