Woodland Court is a new recently opened building with very modern and clean rooms and communal facilities. My mother was placed here on 28 July, for an initial 2 to 4 week despite trial period. Mum was very reluctant with a closed mind but soon relaxed. Perhaps the best recommendation that I can give
is that Mum completely changed her mind within the first week and nothing a insists that she loves it here and does not want to live anywhere else. We have encountered teething problems regarding Mum's routines and washing which were addressed quickly to our satisfaction. The staff are very accommodating and helpful and there is a very cordial and calm atmosphere that is largely due to the care staffs attention and kindly manner. It's early days of course but I have confidence that once the organisation is fully functional my Mother is safe, well looked after and above all else happy.

I have visited Woodland Court several times since it opened, most recently to play The Last Post on VE Day. The staff are so kind and welcoming, which helps create a very relaxed atmosphere for residents and visitors alike. The Head of Entertainment, has a great spirit, which is exactly what is needed
in a care setting. And the chef's food was superb for the VE Day lunch. My father was in care in another excellent home, so I can safely say that Woodland Court is among the best. I greatly look forward to my next visit.

Mum was the first resident here for a week of respite care and the staff couldn't have been more attentive. The kitchen staff cooked just what she asked for and the portions were very generous, building mum up and going over and above to make mum feel at home. Obviously as the home is brand new, the
fixtures and fittings are immaculate, comfy and well thought out. The staff took time to get to know mum, her history, her likes and dislikes. We even popped back for a cup of tea and cake and the staff were so welcoming and spent time chatting with mum and me and making her feel special. We will definitely be using this home again. She did plenty of activities and although she has Alzheimer's the staff were patient and stimulated her brain with lots of different activities. Lovely people, nothing is too much trouble for them. The price is competitive. Not the cheapest in the area but not the most expensive. Certainly cheaper than some which are nowhere near the high standard of this one

My mum has now been a resident of Woodland Court for just over a month and I can honestly say the level of care she has received could not have been better. Within two weeks, the staff had been able to get my mum more mobile again and she has put on weight following a stay in hospital. Of course the
home is new so fresh and clean but it is the staff and mangement that make this home special and the best in Great Yarmouth (in my opinion having tried mum in 4 other local care homes).

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.925)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.925) out of 10 for Woodland Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.870 for Woodland Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (61 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 69 Ratings = 4.87
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.055 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodland Court Care Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 13.2 = 0.455
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
