My mother has been in the care home coming up 2 years now. I can't fault any of the staff; they are respectful and always ready with a smile. They do their very best for the residents but they are over-stretched in their duties, however they still manage to keep residents clean and fed and occupied with different activities going on. They deserve a pay rise and could do with more staff so please take heed.

I can only commend the home for looking after my mother. In particular the care and attention to detail when she had an incident. They where quick to respond and very reassuring that follow up action would be taken the next day.

I think the oral care of the residents could be improved on as since my family member came in here their teeth have rapidly deteriorated and you can see they don't brush their teeth, I have mentioned this a few times but have been told that it's the night time staffs that get them up and washed.
The meals could be better in here as they don't look great and portions can bd poor. Other than this I can't complain.
We are so pleased to read that you find the staff to be friendly and helpful. At Care UK we hold ourselves to a very high standard and the team will appreciate this as they continue their hard work.
We are sorry to hear of...
Nothing is too much bother for them.
The activities are always good, singing and people coming into sing, games, people bringing animals in for the residents to hold and pet.
Different groups that come in to do activities with the residents.

After an agonising decision that Mam needed to go into care then the responsibility of finding somewhere I hoped she'd be happy I decided on Cheviot Court. It was an extremely difficult time but since being there Mam is safe, well and happier than she was at home. The Care staff are extremely hard working but always greet us visitors with a smile, friendly face and welcoming words no matter how busy they are. They are patient with her and kind and I'm pleased I made the decision for Mam to go to Cheviot Court.

Our mam moved to Cheviot Court a few months ago and what a difference. She's interacting more with us when visiting or taking her out. She's eating much better, more mobile as there's always something going on entertainment-wise and we can't say enough good things about the caring and brilliant staff.

The facility is amazing, very clean, with very friendly and professional staff from the warden to the managers, carers, cleaning staff and not forgetting the handyman. My mam never wanted to go into care but went in for respite and has decided to stay as it is so well run and she is so well looked after. She loves her accommodation, the staff, the events and the food. All in all, a truly great place, and she is thriving. Well done and thank you.

Mam joined Cheviot Court in June and we've found management and carers very friendly and approachable. Mam's Alzheimer's means she can be confused and tearful at times, but we know all her needs are being met at Cheviot Court, including a range of social activities and excellent and varied food menu.
The home has a warm caring atmosphere. On arrival at the care home, staff are always pleasant and helpful. The staff caring for my mother are friendly and caring. They do an amazing job despite often being short staffed. Unfortunately my mother doesn't communicate much which sometimes results in her being sat for long periods without a toilet break. However as soon as staff are aware of this, she is seen too.

The staff at Cheviot Court really do go above and beyond for their residents. My grandma recently celebrated her 100th birthday and this occasion was marking in so many fantastic ways by staff. As a family, we were blown away by the effort and ability to think outside the box when planning Grandma's birthday celebrations. In particular, 2 carers, who listened to grandmas stories and used that information to make her day so much more personal. Cheviot Court is a fantastic care home and we couldn't wish for a better staff to be caring for our loved one.

Meet the Team (1)

I really like that we’re one big family in this home – residents and colleagues alike. We look out for each other, and support each other – just like families do.
I’m proud of the hardworking team here at Cheviot Court. We aim to achieve the highest standards in all areas of the home’s life. I believe in supporting my team to do their best work and fulfil their potential, because, when they’re happy, residents are happy.
Residents at Cheviot Court have choice and freedom. They decide how they live their life and what they do each day. We aim to make everything resident-led.
It’s an effective approach. When I see residents enjoying an activity, chatting together over lunch, or happy at the end of the day, I know we’ve got it right.
