Reviews

8 Cheviot Court has a Review Score of 8 (7.999)

The Review Score of 8 (maximum of 10) for Cheviot Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 6 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Cheviot Court in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.1 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.931 for Cheviot Court is calculated as follows: ( (67 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 72 Ratings = 4.931

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 3.068 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cheviot Court is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 = 3

    2. Target of 14.6 positive Reviews (73 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 1 Reviews ÷ 14.6 Target = 0.068

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

As a daughter, I have found Cheviot Court to be an excellent facility. My mother is treated with great care and dignity.

The activities side of things is wonderful and very well organised.

The staff and management are extremely dedicated. The family always feel we can trust their decisions in all aspects of care. Marvellous.

When looking for a care home for our mother we were recommended Cheviot Court. Our visit was so welcoming from the management team to meeting the care staff. We always feel welcome when we visit our mother, the staff are great and we are kept well informed of mam's well-being. The staff work very hard to maintain a very high standard of care and we as a family would have no hesitation in recommending Cheviot Court to others.

As always the care and standard are A1. Very professional with a warm and friendly approach. My mother has lived at Cheviot Court for over five years and has been very happy. Relatives are encouraged to join in any activities and outings.
All care homes should be of this standard.

Cheviot Court is a very well run care home. The manager and administrator are always available to talk and discuss anything with you. They are always cheerful and join in all the events.
The care staff are excellent, even though their patience can be stretched to the limit with the individual demands of each resident. The food is very good and all the staff try to understand the needs of individual residents. The activity coordinator works very hard to provide a variety of entertainment and activities.
All staff are very stretched at all times noticeably on weekends.
Entertainment at a weekend would be nice but it all adds to the cost.

A lovely, light and airy building which is well furnished and clean. The staff are welcoming and obviously know all the residents well. They are efficient and caring. The home has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and my mother is well looked after here.
There are many varied activities for the residents to be involved in.

My mum went into Cheviot Court in June 2016 after being looked after at home by dad and family. We chose Cheviot Court following a visit we did in April 201 as it was warm, friendly and run by professional and caring staff. To date, we have not been disappointed by the care our mum has had and all the activities organised to stimulate and get mum involved. Mum is very settled has good and bad days depending on her dementia, but we can walk in and out knowing that she is being cared for in a wonderful environment.
