Cheviot Court is a happy, warm, caring home for my Mam. She is looked after well and she is always clean, smiling and sat chatting with friends. It is a weight off our minds knowing Mam is being cared for so well.

The staff and management made the transition of my Father leaving his home (after recently losing my Mam) to the care home a much easier process. They are warm, friendly and welcoming. They see him as an individual as his needs can differ from other residents and are very aware of his needs. My Dad said he feels safe and cared for. We could not ask for more.

Staff always friendly, always happy to chat when I ring, they always go above and beyond, my dad is always clean and tidy, always freshly clothed and always smiling, my dad has told me the home is his new family and he has settled in better than expected. Dad is happy so that makes us happy. Also a special thank you to three staff members in particular on the middle floor.

Mam has been a resident at Cheviot Court for two years now. Her needs are always met, carers and staff are very caring and friendly towards Mam. Mam is included in the many activities the team put on. I have been visiting Mam regularly and am treated as part of the family - it's like home from home. Staff and residents and visitors are all one big, happy family. I would recommend Cheviot Court to anyone who needs to go into a care home.

When my sister got a place in Cheviot Court Care Home I was pleased as it has a good reputation. If you are looking for a care home, I sincerely recommend you visit Cheviot Court Care Home first and foremost. You will then discover what an excellent care home is and should actually be like. Very high standards are maintained in every single aspect, for example, food, facilities and cleanliness. There are also loads of activities which the residents really enjoy. Cheviot Court is very well managed and all the family (i.e staff) are wonderful. Most importantly, Mam is extremely happy here (always smiling and laughing when we visit) and receives exemplary care and support. Any health concerns are dealt with appropriately and immediately. I am so grateful to all at Cheviot Court, Mam is in such a safe and loving environment.

Friendly, caring staff. Very welcoming. Lots of activities and stimulation for residents. Families are encouraged to be part of the community. A happy place to visit beloved family. Very much a resident's home with their personal space bespoke to them.

My mother has been a resident at Cheviot Court Care Home for the past six months and in that time she has had excellent care. Her general health has improved. Her room is spacious, well-equipped and kept exceptionally clean and tidy. Food standards are high, plenty of it! Activities are varied and held often and Mother enjoys taking part. The biggest recommendation I can give is for the excellent staff, each and everyone deserves a medal.

My aunt transferred to Cheviot Court Care Home following a stay in hospital (condition, delirium, Covid and flu). On entry, she was very weak, physically and confused. Throughout the respite period, all staff have worked tirelessly, overcoming many obstacles to restore her health, well-being and quality of life. Her dignity and individuality are respected accordingly and she is responding well to care. She is allowed personal privacy whilst also being encouraged to socialise and take advantage of the activities on offer.

Following a period of respite, my mother is now a permanent resident and has gradually settled into day-to-day routines, systems and activities. Staff are always approachable, helpful and willing to answer any queries or questions which may arise. I personally feel reassured that my mother is safe, secure and well cared for. Management have been very supportive in relation to the decision made.

My mam has been a resident here now for over two years. All I can say is that her care here has been excellent. The staff are second to none and so caring, friendly and always happy to help. There is always some kind of activity going on, which the residents love, and there is always a lovely, friendly atmosphere when you come into the building. Standards of cleanliness are excellent throughout and food is of a high standard. Yet again, I can say I can rest easy knowing my mam is being well cared for.

My mam is very settled and happy and very well adjusted to her living arrangements because of the specialist care she receives at Cheviot Court Care Home. Staff are friendly, approachable and committed with a strong focus on a person-centred approach to care. There is a great variety of activities on offer for my mam and Cheviot has been very quickly adaptable to changing guidance around the pandemic. Always keeping relatives up to date.

My mam has been well looked after in Cheviot Court Care Home. Carers are excellent. Louise Damms
Louise DammsJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2010
I’ve worked at Cheviot Court since 2004, and became the home’s manager in 2010. I started as a domestic and worked my way up.
I really like that we’re one big family in this home – residents and colleagues alike. We look out for each other, and support each other – just like families do.
I’m proud of the hardworking team here at Cheviot Court. We aim to achieve the highest standards in all areas of the home’s life. I believe in supporting my team to do their best work and fulfil their potential, because, when they’re happy, residents are happy.
Residents at Cheviot Court have choice and freedom. They decide how they live their life and what they do each day. We aim to make everything resident-led.

It’s an effective approach. When I see residents enjoying an activity, chatting together over lunch, or happy at the end of the day, I know we’ve got it right.
