Mountfitchet House is a purpose-built care home set within the Essex countryside. The skilled team deliver residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as respite and sensitive end of life care.

Residents enjoy a great lifestyle thanks to the luxury facilities, including a café, pub, cinema room and hair salon. The home is divided into four suites, each with its own lounge and dining room. The bedrooms are spacious with a private ensuite bathroom, and outside there are beautiful, landscaped gardens – perfect for residents to relax in.

Located in a small village near Stansted, the home has great links to major motorways and a regular train service to London and Cambridge. The team strives to ensure residents continue to lead fulfilling and enjoyable lives by getting to know each resident as an individual, tailoring every aspect of their care to their unique needs and tastes.

Fees are subject to a pre-admission needs assessment which is required to fully understand the level

other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

I cannot thank all the staff at Mountfitchet House enough for the unrelenting care, kindness, thoughtfulness and compassion they continue to show my mum and all residents. It has been so hard to settle my mum, and the support we have received has been incredible. Having visited other homes, this stands

My mum came to his home about 8 weeks ago. From the moment she arrived she has received the most outstanding level of care and compassion. As a family we have felt so supported too as a hard decision to place a loved one into a home. There has never been a time where I felt Mum wasn't given the best
care by every single member of staff. They smile, they genuinely care and she is safe. The activities every day are brillinat too. This home is beyond our expectations. Would highly recommend.

My mum has been there for nearly three years and I cannot fault the place. The staff are amazing and my mum is 100% looked after.
There are plenty of activities and they even took her to kings college chapel for a personal day out:

Susan is excellent. Susan is proactive and supportive. Giselle on reception is always friendly and happy to assist with any help we may need. The carers are attentive to my mother's needs.

My mother has been at Mountfitchet House for a year now. She had dementia and needs the comprehensive care provided by the dedicated staff at Mountfitchet House. As well as receiving personal care, meals and laundry service, Mum benefits from a varied activities programme organised by the innovative

I have very little idea about Care Homes, however I was pleasantly surprised on viewing Mountfitchet House. From the first look around the building outside, gardens and parking areas to the inside. The inside communal areas, TV sitting room, dining area and kitchen, bedrooms with au suite all cleaned
every day. Staff on hand at all times to help in a very caring way both my wife and I were happy that she would be look after very well, which has turned out to be so in the last five months. As for the ratings I think it would be wrong for me to mark them all excellent. Facilities there can always be more, the food and drink I dont know it is good but it's not relished by all, activities aren't all enjoyed. Value for money, it's a lot and I don't know what we will do when it runs out. I have seen other homes but they appeared not to have as high standards.

Arrived at 10:30am. Mum was in bed fully dressed. Chatted over coffee. Not the best coffee in the world but she is happy and well cared for, thank you.

From the coffee machine we use Arriva coffee beans, these are made from 100% Arabica beans which are known for their smoother and more flavourful taste. We do also have Nescafe Gold instant coffee available by the flavoured teas. We always try to ensure we can cater to all in the home, and we appreciate your input greatly. My mum moved into Mountfitchet House originally for respite care with a view to become a permanent resident. She has now moved in as we were so happy with my mums care. From the transition which was seamless and to settling in, the team have been amazing. The staff at Mountfitchet House are so caring,
eager to please and always welcome family with a smile. We were worried mum wouldn't join in with activities but the staff have encouraged her to do so. Special mention to one of the staff members who has made the whole experience straight forward. We're very happy!

I find this home excellent. The lifestyle team took me indoor skiing at Milton Keynes. The best day I've had in many years. The nursing care is superb, along with the housekeeping and receptionists. My father's comment "i can't find any faults" this is the first time for respite care and we were both anxious about how dad would settle we needn't have worried. Everyone is so kind and helpful. He is enjoying the food and when asked how was lunch he says perfect. I will now be able to go on my week's

Job Title: Home Manager

I started my career as a healthcare assistant before training and qualifying as a nurse. That was 24 years ago, and, since then, I’ve worked in the NHS and in the private sector. I’ve worked in many different areas of nursing, from paediatric intensive care to end of life and dementia care, and also in management.


I joined Care UK because I wanted to bring my skills and experience to benefit an exciting and forward-thinking care organisation. I love the idea, at the heart of Care UK’s ethos, of fulfilling residents’ lives. I think it’s something everyone can understand and get behind. It motivates the entire team, whatever role they do.


The best part of my role is seeing residents happy and satisfied, and seeing my team’s pride in the way they help others to live happy lives and achieve their wishes.


Away from work I enjoy all sorts of things from holidays and sightseeing, to gardening, baking, watching sports, and going to the theatre, art galleries and museums.
