In the fifteen months or so since my partner has been here I can truthfully say that the staff are very kind, definitely patient and thoughtful. My visits are always a pleasure and the staff have been very helpful when it's been needed.
I have very little idea about Care Homes, however I was pleasantly surprised on viewing Mountfitchet House. From the first look around the building outside, gardens and parking areas to the inside. The inside communal areas, TV sitting room, dining area and kitchen, bedrooms with au suite all cleaned every day. Staff on hand at all times to help in a very caring way both my wife and I were happy that she would be look after very well, which has turned out to be so in the last five months. As for the ratings I think it would be wrong for me to mark them all excellent. Facilities there can always be more, the food and drink I dont know it is good but it's not relished by all, activities aren't all enjoyed. Value for money, it's a lot and I don't know what we will do when it runs out. I have seen other homes but they appeared not to have as high standards.
Kind staff.
Excellent friendly staff. Great facilities. Wonderful cares.
Arrived at 10:30am. Mum was in bed fully dressed. Chatted over coffee. Not the best coffee in the world but she is happy and well cared for, thank you.
My mum moved into Mountfitchet House originally for respite care with a view to become a permanent resident. She has now moved in as we were so happy with my mums care. From the transition which was seamless and to settling in, the team have been amazing. The staff at Mountfitchet House are so caring, eager to please and always welcome family with a smile. We were worried mum wouldn't join in with activities but the staff have encouraged her to do so. Special mention to one of the staff members who has made the whole experience straight forward. We're very happy!
Staff friendly always willing to help. Activities are great and cinema also good. watched my first film at easter.
I find this home excellent. The lifestyle team took me indoor skiing at Milton Keynes. The best day I've had in many years. The nursing care is superb, along with the housekeeping and receptionists. I could do with two rooms with the amount of belongings I have! My next wish is to go Swimming, which I look forward to.
All the staff so welcomed and friendly. Helpful staff advising my way round to friend's room. Using the kitchen facilities.
For mum this has been the best move for her dementia. It has helped her mental health. Joining in all activities making freinds. Which she always struggled with. for us as a family I can't recommend it enough.
My father's comment "i can't find any faults" this is the first time for respite care and we were both anxious about how dad would settle we needn't have worried. Everyone is so kind and helpful. He is enjoying the food and when asked how was lunch he says perfect. I will now be able to go on my week's holiday without any worries
Thank you so much for how you welcomed and settled my aunt and cared for her in her last few months. The whole family are vey grateful.
We would like to thank everyone at Mountfitchet House for the care and empathy that all staff showed to our mum / wife, during her stay at your facility. Mum arrived at Mountfitchet House post her operation at Stevenage Lister Hospital. Mountfitchet House was always our first choice for Mums care because of the amazing reviews that had posted about your facilities and the proximity to where Mum and Dad lived.. The approach and delivery show real compassion and understanding or ours, and mums needs. Having moved mum into the home, this empathy and tireless dedication shown by all the staff to Mum, Dad and the rest of the family was really very kind and of great comfort to us knowing that Mum was in a safe environment. Mum's time at Mountfitchet House came to an end all too soon, again the compassion during her last days and then the day of her leaving, the care, dignity and emotion displayed, the guard of honour assembled was so humbling to us
My mother is looked after with the most respect and dignity anyone can wish for. She has been in the home for a number of years and is so happy. Excellent home and staff are all wonderful.
Initial experience with the manager was excellent. She is very understanding of issues and keeps the family informed. My mother is adapting to her new surroundings. The staff are lovely, polite and helpful. Very happy with the nursing staff. The only criticism is Mum needs to be hoisted more into a chair. Will keep an open mind about her future here but so far so good!
Overall Mountfitchet House is an excellent care home. From the receptionist to all the staff, it is very welcoming and friendly. The initial impression as you walk in is very good and the rooms with their en-suites are also very good. The cinema room, cafe and hairdressing salon are always well used and the lounge and dining areas are very nice. There is a lovely garden with plenty of seating. The staff are excellent and go above and beyond to care and keep the residents happy with activities.
We were able to move our mum into Mountfichet House for end-of-life care and could not have asked for better care in that time. Every member of staff made us feel that our mum was their priority and their care also extended to us at a very difficult time. Being able to visit at any time of day or night was especially helpful. With special mention to the staff. Admission was also dealt with very smoothly, despite was felt like stressful circumstances. Highly recommended.
My mother-in-law has been a resident at Mountfitchet House for a year. We moved her down from North Yorkshire to be near family after her husband passed away. We see how happy and content she is. I also see what great care she receives. The home is such a nice environment for visitors and residents. Thank you.
Overall experience of a 2 week respite stay for my Mum was very positive and I always felt that she was safe and well cared for in a very clean and well-organised environment. Mum herself seemed content and happy during her stay. All the staff were always extremely friendly, polite and helpful at every stage. I was contacted in advance by the activities organiser to check if I was ok with Mum going on a trip out to see some animals. It was appreciated that they took the time to make this call. Mum was engaged in a number of activities during her stay, some photos of which could be seen on Facebook. Minor negatives would be some difficulty at times in being able to speak to Mum. Maybe a landline phone in the room could be considered in future. Also some unawareness amongst staff that Mum was leaving on her last day. A big positive was the fantastic communication between the family and our main contact at the home who has always answered all of our questions and kept us fully informed.
