You could not be more impressed the moment you enter the grounds from the main road, its just like a park with large well kept grounds including a duck pond. The staff and management are excellent every one is treated wtih are and dignity from the moment you arrive. The home is kept to a high standard
of cleanliness. Food is very good with freshly cooked meals and options every day. The rooms have built in bathrooms and are cleaned daily. Hairdressers are available every Tuesday in their salon and would not hesitate to recommend Silversprings care home to anyone.

My sister in law was poorly with a chest infection early December. I was informed directly, the doctor prescribed antibiotics, which cleared the infection quickly. All the staff were so caring and loving towards Mary.
Later that month was her birthday when a delicious cake was made just for her.
There again the staff all made a fuss of her.
Christmas time; all the staff take such care and make sure all residents have a present to open.
Silversprings is well run with any problems dealt with quickly.

My mum is a full-time resident at SilverSprings due to dementia, and the care, kindness and respect she receives every day truly mean the world to our family. She is treated with dignity, patience and genuine warmth, and the staff have always made her feel safe, valued and cared for.

Over the Christmas

period, my dad stayed at Silver Springs for respite care while we were away on holiday. As always, they went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable, settled and included, and ensured he still experienced the joy and warmth of Christmas. One particular highlight for my dad was the Boxing Day lunch, which he spoke about with such happiness. It was clear how much effort had gone into making the day special, and moments like that made all the difference to his experience and wellbeing.

Knowing that both my parents were being so well looked after gave us complete peace of mind while we were away.

SilverSprings is more than a care home - it's a community built on kindness

Greeted warmly by the reception. Ushered into the lounge to wait for the resident. Passed through tastefully decorated spaces and a comfortable and homely lounge. The resident was wheeled in looking happy and comfortable. He talked for a long time. Concluded by praising the staff and saying he was very
happy.
We were all given tea/coffee and cake.
Afterwards, in the entrance hall, we discussed the wonderful "wishes" given to residents and all of the seasonal celebrations, as well as birthdays.

My sister is very happy and settled at Silversprings. The staff are very caring and well trained. She enjoys and takes part in all the activities. The entertainment that is booked to come into the home on a regular basis is well varied and the residents are well entertained. It is so lovely to see everyone
enjoying themselves and taking part. My sister has made many friends. It is very important for myself and our family to know that she is well cared for and looked after. Residents families and friends are always made welcome.

My Mother became a resident here at Silversprings in May this year. She was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia eight years ago and it was becoming too much for us to look after her at home. It took her about a month and a half to fully settle in. Now that she is, she is happy and relaxed and has made
friends. She enjoys the routines, entertainment and food and feels safe. The staff are very supportive, caring and kindly professional. I am so pleased to see her relaxed, happy and taken care off.

Although my contact has so far only been as a visitor attending their monthly Dementia Cafe, I have always found Silversprings to be friendly and welcoming. The residents appear to be happy and extremely well cared for. There always seems to be numerous activities and interests for the residents including
trips out, celebrations and "special occasion" days and events. The staff I have met are extremely nice friendly people who genuinely care and offer compassion and respect.

We moved my mum to Silversprings just over a week ago after five months in another local home, and the difference has been amazing. Previously bedbound, she is now sitting up for meals, using the bathroom, and has already enjoyed a shower.

The staff are warm, enthusiastic, and encouraging, and there's

a real sense of activity and energy in the home. We are so pleased we made the move - Silversprings has already made a huge positive impact on Mum's quality of life. Keep up the good work :-)

Mum was diagnosed with mixed dementia approx 5 years ago and living at home with carers coming in four times daily. After a fall at home and being admitted into hospital with broken shoulder, myself and siblings decided it was no longer an option to remain at home. Mum moved into Silversprings December
2024. Apart from the amount of pressure and anxiety taken from family, mum now has a life, engaging all day with others, activities to keep her occupied. Mum is well looked after, nutritional needs taken care of and living her best life. The care and kindness at Silversprings is second to none.

I went to visit Silversprings with the possibility of my Mum moving there to be closer to me. From the moment I walked in and was met by customer relations advisor I knew Mum would hugely benefit from living there. Staff were exceptionally friendly & professional and the home felt it had " soul". Mum
was lucky enough to move in 4 weeks later and has not looked back! She has settled in really well and has enjoyed making new friends. All aspects of her care has been excellent. The manager and all staff including maintenance team are always available and approachable for any questions/ queries. I would not hesitate to recommend Silversprings, they have truly gone above and beyond to ensure Mum feels " at home" .

As a daughter of a mother with alzheimers and vascular dementia, trying to manage her care at home was becoming unmanageable and making me extremely ill myself. Since Mum's admission to Silversprings in December 2024, life has been SO much better for both of us: unrecognisable from the life we both
had prior. She is exceptionally well cared for, treated with respect, dignity, humour and love. I have not seen her so happy and well-kept for many years. She is no longer lonely and is busy all the time, enjoying taking part in the wide range of activities offered daily, from baking to Bingo, from coach trips to carpet bowls.
She is eating very well and infact believes Silversprings to be a restaurant where her and her new friend eat several times a week as "you won't get better food and service anywhere else!" I've been told many of the diners are regulars for the same reason!
Admitting Mum to Silversprings was 100% the right decision. Our only regret is not having made the move sooner!

Mum's dementia has worsened, necessitating her move into full-time care during the winter. Our initial visit to Silversprings during a dementia café was positive, with engaging entertainment and welcoming staff. Although adapting has been challenging for Mum, the staff's patient and empathetic care
has vastly improved her quality of life. Despite living far away, we are confident she receives excellent care and is in a safe and supportive environment. We express our gratitude to the Silversprings team for their dedication.

I am so glad my aunt is now a resident here as this is such a lovely place. Inside and out it like a hotel and having met several of the staff I no longer worry about my aunts safety and medical needs. Each time I have visited there have been activities to keep the residents occupied, and I know they
are also taken out by minibus to local attractions, such as garden centres. The food is lovely and the dementia cafe, held within the home, each month is an opportunity for carers to meet support eachother.

She is eating so well and loving the daily comings and goings
which give her so much to chat about .
We have decided that in her best interest she is now a resident.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.884)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.884) out of 10 for Silversprings is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 40 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 40 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.884 for Silversprings is calculated as follows: ( (424 Excellents x 5) + (43 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 473 Ratings = 4.884
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Silversprings is based on 40 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 64 registered maximum number of service users is 12.8, which has been reached with 40 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2020

I first qualified as a nurse back in 1987 and completed further training in 1992. I then worked in both health and social care, working with adults with learning disabilities, and mental health needs, and also as a manager of two other care homes in Suffolk. I joined Silversprings in 2020 after seeing from the Care UK website how beautiful the home is.

I believe it’s important for the home manager to be approachable, caring, and open with both their team, the families, and also and most importantly the residents that live in the home.

My favourite part of my job is knowing that no one day is the same. I love spending time with the residents and also seeing how the staff engage with them, hearing their stories from their youth and their words of wisdom to the younger generation.

Outside of work spending time with my family is my big love, I have three grown-up children, and a beautiful granddaughter who stays regularly. I also enjoy walking my Labrador, Max, in the countryside around my home. A glass of rosé wine is my favourite tipple after a long day.
