Dad continues to receive wonderful care here and the staff are always attentive and helpful. I think special note for the food and also the fabulous gardens tendered to by the gardener. It's lovely to have the garden to sit down and take in this fantastic weather. Thank you all.

My dad moved to Siversprings in January 2024, after a period of poor mobility and ill health. The care he received from the whole team was exemplary. Everyone was cheerful, kind and caring and he enjoyed a chat and a joke with everyone. Sadly, he succumbed to a pre-existing medical condition and died in February. The care team were kind and supportive of my family and did everything they could to help us at this difficult time. Thank you, everyone at Silversprings for making Dad's last weeks so happy. He couldn't have received better care.

My father has been a resident since May 2023 (respite initially but smoothly transferred to permanent) due to having had multiple falls at home and requiring care after hospital admissions. He was also subsequently diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease, so we recognised that he would need some specialist dementia care. The manager and customer relations manager have been a wonderful support in listening to what we had been through as a family and then in settling Dad in. They have continued to ensure that he is getting the appropriate care and made adjustments so that he can participate in the many activities they offer. He has been encouraged to move around safely with a walking frame and takes part in seated exercises so has improved his strength, which all contributes to a better quality of life, more than he would have had at home. I do not live close so it is difficult to visit frequently but it gives me great peace of mind to know that he is being looked after so well.

My husband ended his life here after being discharged from hospital for palliative care. He had previously had respite care in September 2023 and had thoroughly enjoyed his “holiday” at Silversprings. The nursing care and attention for both of us was incredible. His time here was however very short but I am sure it was the relief of feeling so relaxed and cared for that made his final hours so comfortable. It is an incredibly well-managed home led by the home manager and the customer relations manager whose management style inspires those who work for them to care for residents as they would their own family. I will always be thankful that my husband was there for his very peaceful death after a very traumatic hospital stay.

Hi, Your lovely review is so touching. It was our honor to look after your husband for his respite stay and for the end stages. He was a lovely and kind man. We will always think fondly of him. Our favorite memory will be him joining in the sports day we held at the home. Please do still pop in to see us, you became part of the family too.

Siversprings was the care home for my aunt, who spent just over 12 months in their care. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and provided a high level of care for my aunt. Whilst she was confined to bed, they made sure she was included in daily life as far as possible and took time out to provide her with company.
The facilities are very clean and well-maintained, and the staff are caring and considerate.
They made the whole process from viewing to admission as easy as possible.
Regular updates on my aunt's health were received, and they were happy to answer any questions at any time.

I am happy to recommend their services to anybody who requires care home support.

My father was transferred to Silverspring's for end-of-life care. At the time of his arrival, he was worried, frightened, apprehensive, and in a low mood. From the very first day, he was greeted as a loved family member. He was treated with compassion, empathy and respect. The staff went out of their way to make his final weeks as comfortable and as worry-free as possible. I will forever be grateful to the manager and her team for the care and love that was shown to my father and our entire family at that awful time.

My father-in-law was a resident for 8 months for end-of-life care. In that time he was treated with great care and respect. I was especially touched that one of the maintenance team used to take the time and trouble to drop in for a chat to help keep his spirits up. He didn't have to do that. I was so impressed by his kindness and the culture of the entire home which encouraged that sort of thoughtfulness.

Reply from Lisa O'Sullivan, Reviews Team at Silversprings

My dad moved to Silver Springs in July 2023 straight from a hospital admission and to an end-of-life placement, never to return to his bungalow where he had lived for 16 years. Staff were incredibly welcoming and reassuring at a time when he must have felt completely vulnerable, overwhelmed, helpless, anxious and confused. My sister and I are so grateful for the support we have all received over the last five months as Dad deteriorated and then sadly passed away after Christmas. Staff always made time for us and kept us informed about any changes or concerns they had. The standard of care for Dad was exceptional.
Silver Springs is a friendly and welcoming place, and there are so many activities on offer for residents, along with staff who go out of their way to involve and connect with the residents.
All members of staff, including those on reception, maintenance staff, activities staff, care and nursing staff, and the manager, were friendly, warm and welcoming.

Thank you

Dad was moved to Silver Springs in July 2023 for nursing care as he had Bowel Cancer. From the moment he arrived, the staff couldn’t do enough for him. He settled in extremely well and received outstanding care right up until he passed away in December.

The staff were also very supportive of my sister and I. Knowing he was safe and being cared for so well took a massive weight off our minds. We could not be more grateful to the manager and all her wonderful staff.

I'm a man of few words, but the best accolade I could give Silversprings Care Home is if I ever had to be in a home, I would hope it would be at least half as good as this one. It is superb.

All the staff are amazing, helpful, friendly, compassionate and caring. Yep, when the time comes it would be Silversprings for me. Warmest regards.

Our dad joined the Siversprings family in June 2023 after living in his own home no longer became an option due to his decline in health. This was an emotional time for the family, but thanks to the incredible staff Dad settled in well. The difference in him now is incredible, he’s happy and extremely well cared for, joins in with games, singing, arts and crafts and so much more, in fact his life is busier than mine! I would never hesitate to recommend Silversprings, it’s so much more than a residential care home (or club as my dad calls it). The staff, from the management down, work so hard to ensure everything runs smoothly, nothing is too much trouble, any queries get answered, any concerns are quickly addressed. I love visiting my dad, everyone is so friendly, it’s like a second home. Well done Silversprings, keep up the good work and thank you.

My husband went into hospital on 15th January. After being put on End-of-life care in the hospital, he was discharged to Silversprings on 16th February.

Unfortunately, he was discharged with an ongoing infection and had to go back to hospital. But then discharged again on 28th February. I was told that this was palliative care, but instead, he got better. Everyone treated him like a real person. I believe as a general rule care homes need to employ more staff but given that criticism, which is to do with care homes generally and not specifically this particular one, my husband was treated very well, to the extent he has recovered sufficiently to come home. There is no better recommendation!

My mum was in the home for a couple of weeks before passing away. However, during that time, Silversprings looked after her with care and compassion. They also looked after my welfare, along with my wife's. It was difficult for us as we do not live nearby, but we had no concerns about her well-being. A lovely environment, which I would recommend.

My father-in-law was discharged from the hospital into the nursing wing following an unexpected terminal diagnosis. To date, we have been very impressed and reassured by the quality of the care which he has received. A residential environment was a completely new experience for him, and he has been constantly reassured and supported by the lovely staff. He enjoys the food, is treated with dignity and respect, and nothing is too much trouble. We are so grateful to the staff and management for their care and professionalism.

When my wife was moved into Silversprings in June 2022, she was in a sorry state with Vascular Dementia, unable to do anything for herself, bedridden and invaded with bed sores as well. The staff fought hard to improve her mobility and provided her with an airflow chair so she could go into the lounge to be involved with quizzes, Church services and sing along with the other residents. The staff were always kind with good humour and laughter. And when I was feeling down in the dumps, they kept me going. We were encouraged to treat her room as home.

Mum arrived at Silverspings in December 2022, after being in a not-so-good care home.
We were all greeted by kind, friendly, warm care staff and after being shown around we were shown to Mum's room; it was lovely, clean and a good size with lovely views. The care home staff are always so kind and listen to any concerns you have.

Dad can stay with Mum from 10 am until whenever he wants to leave. It's like a second home for him too!

Joanne RixJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2020

I first qualified as a nurse back in 1987 and completed further training in 1992. I then worked in both health and social care, working with adults with learning disabilities, and mental health needs, and also as a manager of two other care homes in Suffolk. I joined Silversprings in 2020 after seeing from the Care UK website how beautiful the home is.

I believe it’s important for the home manager to be approachable, caring, and open with both their team, the families, and also and most importantly the residents that live in the home.

My favourite part of my job is knowing that no one day is the same. I love spending time with the residents and also seeing how the staff engage with them, hearing their stories from their youth and their words of wisdom to the younger generation.

Outside of work spending time with my family is my big love, I have three grown-up children, and a beautiful granddaughter who stays regularly. I also enjoy walking my Labrador, Max, in the countryside around my home. A glass of rosé wine is my favourite tipple after a long day.
