My father-in-law was discharged from the hospital into the nursing wing following an unexpected terminal diagnosis. To date, we have been very impressed and reassured by the quality of the care which he has received. A residential environment was a completely new experience for him, and he has been
constantly reassured and supported by the lovely staff. He enjoys the food, is treated with dignity and respect, and nothing is too much trouble. We are so grateful to the staff and management for their care and professionalism.

My mum was very well cared for. She was kept very comfortable, and her medical and personal needs were very well catered for. When my wife was moved into Silversprings in June 2022, she was in a sorry state with Vascular Dementia, unable to do anything for herself, bedridden and invaded with bed sores as well. The staff fought hard to improve her mobility and provided her with an airflow chair so she could go into the lounge
to be involved with quizzes, Church services and sing along with the other residents. The staff were always kind with good humour and laughter. And when I was feeling down in the dumps, they kept me going. We were encouraged to treat her room as home.

Mum is very well looked after by the friendly staff, who are always smiling.
Both I and my brother feel she is in the best place, and this gives us peace of mind.

Mum arrived at Silverspings in December 2022, after being in a not-so-good care home.
We were all greeted by kind, friendly, warm care staff and after being shown around we were shown to Mum's room; it was lovely, clean and a good size with lovely views. The care home staff are always so kind and
listen to any concerns you have.
Dad can stay with Mum from 10 am until whenever he wants to leave. It's like a second home for him too!

A very good place for my parent to be cared for. The staff are lovely and very kind. We get a phone call once a month for her health care check. Mum is constantly reviewed for her needs. If action is needed, it is dealt with.
We always have a good experience too when we visit. If we have any concerns
they are generally dealt with as soon as possible.

Silversprings Care Home staff have tried hard to help my mother settle into life in a care home. The activities manager Beverley has worked really hard for several months to find out about my mother's interests and encourage her to engage in activities.
It is positive that many of the regular staff
have been at the home for many years and work hard to create a happy friendly atmosphere.

Friendly, safe, clean environment for Mum. The staff take time to communicate how Mum is doing and always make me feel welcome when visiting. Mum has come on in leaps and bounds since making Silver Springs her home.

Mum suffers from vascular dementia and sadly after a stay in hospital was discharged into a care home in Colchester. Visiting etc, proved to be very difficult and time-consuming. We are very grateful to the wonderful team at Silversprings, who were able to get Mum moved and settled in closer to home.
The staff go above and beyond not only in the care of Mum but also of Dad, who is now able to visit daily and enjoy spending time with Mum. The home itself is set in beautiful grounds, and Mum especially enjoys the gardens when the weather permits. The building itself is always clean and tidy and has a calming atmosphere, with lots of friendly faces. The food always looks appealing and according to Dad, is of restaurant standard! Birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions are always celebrated, and we and the wider family all enjoy looking at the lovely photos that are put on social media. We are kept well informed by management, and the staff are hardworking, caring and approachable.

My mother has been at the care home now coming up to two years. From the start, they have been in contact with myself or family members about our mum's care. The staff and management are hardworking, caring and friendly and very compassionate and patient with our mother. She has been suffering from
vascular dementia now for a few years and is now on end-of-life care. They have been extremely supportive of myself through this difficult period and have showered our mother with empathy, love and dignity. Their dedication, focus and the challenges they face go way beyond a job. I would just like to thank all the staff from the bottom of my heart, and couldn't recommend Silversprings Care Home highly enough.

My godmother has been in Silverspring now for nearly a year, and she loves it there! I am very happy with the care all the staff have given, not only for my godmother but all the residents - they spend individual time with the residents when needed and have lots of entertainment days for those that
want to participate. When I speak with her, she always says she is happy there, and they really look after her needs.
I would highly recommend Silversprings to anyone who is looking for a good care home for themselves or a family/friend.

I feel very relaxed and can enjoy my visits to my brother. Not only with staff and management kind and caring attitude, nothing is too much. It feels like one big family. The care he receives is very good. The rooms are light and bright but overall, very clean. Sad to leave my brother, but very happy
with the knowledge he is in a happy, safe, caring environment where I know he is happy. Cannot say enough how pleased I am with this care home.

Silver Springs has been nothing but excellent in everything they do for my relative. When she arrived, it was doubtful if she would be with us for weeks, let alone months. But, since arriving, she has been looked after so well that she is virtually at the same level as to when she was living in her
own home. I can not express enough how well the staff at Silver Springs have given her a new lease of life through their diligence, care and professionalism in every single aspect of her care. To say "thank you" to them is never enough.

Mum went to Silversprings for emergency respite care after fall. The team were so helpful, getting her moved from the hospital, and at all times, were kind and compassionate. Sadly Mum was only there for 10 days as she was re-admitted to hospital and passed away, so we didn't get the full Silversprings
experience, but her short time there showed the staff to be efficient and kind.

Due to a family emergency, I had to arrange two weeks of care at Silversprings for my father. From start to finish, the staff and management were welcoming, friendly and professional. The building is secure and spacious, with lovely, clean rooms overlooking the pleasant grounds. My father has a great
stay, talking to residents and staff, participating in daily activities and enjoying the three meals a day, with plenty of drinks and snacks in between.
Nothing was a problem for Silversprings, and they even baled a leaving cake for my father's last day.
I would certainly use Silversprings again, whether it was for an emergency or playing a loved one in permanent care.

Silversprings is a lovely home. Beautiful building with lovely gardens. All staff are hard-working, approachable, cheerful, polite, friendly and caring, creating a lovely atmosphere. Activities are frequent for the residents, and the organiser really puts her heart into it for them. The home is clean
and tidy at all times, and if you do have a problem, then staff do all they can to resolve it quickly.
It is a hard, lonely road to go down putting a loved one in a care home, but the staff here have been very supportive of Mum and myself, so thank you for that. Mum has been at Silversprings for six months now and has settled nicely. She is looked after well and never really complains but comments that she is lucky to be there.

Joanne Rix

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2020

I first qualified as a nurse back in 1987 and completed further training in 1992. I then worked in both health and social care, working with adults with learning disabilities, and mental health needs, and also as a manager of two other care homes in Suffolk. I joined Silversprings in 2020 after seeing from the Care UK website how beautiful the home is.


I believe it’s important for the home manager to be approachable, caring, and open with both their team, the families, and also and most importantly the residents that live in the home.


My favourite part of my job is knowing that no one day is the same. I love spending time with the residents and also seeing how the staff engage with them, hearing their stories from their youth and their words of wisdom to the younger generation.


Outside of work spending time with my family is my big love, I have three grown-up children, and a beautiful granddaughter who stays regularly. I also enjoy walking my Labrador, Max, in the countryside around my home. A glass of rosé wine is my favourite tipple after a long day.
