My mother joined this care home, and we have all found it a very pleasant and friendly environment. The staff are hardworking and caring. The management keeps you well informed, and the meals look very appealing. Whenever I visit, it is clean and tidy, and everyone is very helpful. A big thank you to all involved.

A terminally ill dear friend of mine came to Silversprings after a three weeks stay in the hospital, where I was disappointed with the level of care she was receiving. I advised the manager of my concerns, and every step was taken to ensure her stay was as comfortable and happy as it could be. Every single member of staff from the cleaning, maintenance workers, receptionist, carers and management team guided both myself and my friend through the process. My friend was able to have a good quality of life, enjoying lunches with friends, participating in quizzes and carol concerts in addition to being humoured by the staff. After my friends passing on 22/12, all staff were incredibly supportive, and I will never ever be able to thank all of them enough.

Well informed when we were looking for a care home. Allowed to look around. Both my daughter and I have been very pleased with the help we have received. My husband appears to have settled well, and I must say, the carers are all very helpful. All in all, a very good start.

Review period after one week Mum in isolations. I cannot speak highly enough of the friendly and professional welcome and subsequent care. Everybody from before admission to daily caring activities has been first class, i.e. management, administration, reception, and especially levels of care staff who are consistently very friendly, focused, took time to understand Mum (and me) resulting in a marked improvement in Mum already. The Covid practices are thorough/well-practised to safeguard all.

I came for respite for two weeks, then needed two more weeks to help me after needing more help to look after my husband. I felt the care and all the staff were amazing, so I, along with my husband, have decided to stay at Silversprings. We look forward to this new chapter in our lives.

My husband spent only about a week in Silversprings whilst we waited for a care package to be put in place after three weeks in hospital where he was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. The home is beautifully set in lovely gardens, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff are well trained, kind, compassionate and efficient, and I was very satisfied with the care they gave my husband.

My dear mum lived at Silversprings from June till August 2021. She was terminally ill and spent her last weeks at the home.
I cannot thank and praise the staff enough. The care, friendship and love my mum received was outstanding.
Nothing was too much trouble, for example, the special lunch my sister and I shared with our mum will never be forgotten.
The nursing care was excellent; the way all the staff talked to and about my mum was as if she was part of their own family, and they went to great lengths to make her as happy and comfortable as possible.
The quality of life at Silversprings is thoughtful, individual and first-rate.

I cannot praise the team enough.

Our mother was here for respite care, and she settled very quickly. The staff were very good, kind and attentive. They looked after her very well. Mum enjoyed the food and was always clean and tidy. One observation would be to keep the person's clothes with the correct person. We noticed that she had somebody else's clothes on at times. We were very pleased with her care and all of the staff.

Mum was transferred to Silversprings out of hospital for palliative care. The team did a great job for the short time she was there and kept me in the loop with information and updates.

When I visited, they seemed to be taking good care of Mum, and the nurses I spoke to were very compassionate.

I can't recommend Silversprings Care Home highly enough. We were very lucky that they had a vacancy when our friend needed to have residential care. They were extremely helpful in making all the arrangements for him to move into the home. The staff have always been most courteous and always prepared to go the extra mile. I have asked our friend numerous times if he is happy there and if he is well looked after and he always replies they are "superb". The home is always lovely and clean and very welcoming with nice alcoves with sofas to sit on and books and magazines to read should you need to wait to see your friend or relative. It is a breath of fresh air. The dining room is set out nicely with tablecloths and looks like a really nice restaurant. The sitting room is also set out nicely - not with chairs around the walls

in a big circle. Much more like home. I would give it top marks.

My nan called this home her palace. She was treated like the Queen by staff and says the food couldn't be faulted. Nan was at the home for 6 week respite care before returning to her own home. I have no doubt if she requires a care home in the future Silversprings will be our first point of call. The rooms and the grounds are beautiful and tranquil full of wildlife. Her experience even during Covid could not be faulted. Thank you for caring for her so well!

Nice atmosphere inside with excellent garden. Some difficulty in getting through by telephone at present due to my wife's poor eyesight and very little feeling in her fingertips for using a mobile phone. I am trying to place a voice-operated mobile phone.

We placed my aunt at Sliversprings in February, and she immediately settled in. She enjoys social contact, has made new friends, and loves the staff. She has said the food is top-notch. Her health and care needs are being supported to an excellent standard, and we are delighted with the service. The staff are fantastic - always approachable, and nothing is too much trouble. A fantastic care home setting and team.

Meet the Team (1)

Joanne Rix
Joanne RixJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2020

I first qualified as a nurse back in 1987 and completed further training in 1992. I then worked in both health and social care, working with adults with learning disabilities, and mental health needs, and also as a manager of two other care homes in Suffolk. I joined Silversprings in 2020 after seeing from the Care UK website how beautiful the home is.

I believe it’s important for the home manager to be approachable, caring, and open with both their team, the families, and also and most importantly the residents that live in the home.

My favourite part of my job is knowing that no one day is the same. I love spending time with the residents and also seeing how the staff engage with them, hearing their stories from their youth and their words of wisdom to the younger generation.

Outside of work spending time with my family is my big love, I have three grown-up children, and a beautiful granddaughter who stays regularly. I also enjoy walking my Labrador, Max, in the countryside around my home. A glass of rosé wine is my favourite tipple after a long day.
