an agreed hourly charge for this service.

Coronavirus - It was a very stressful not being able to see my husband as his dementia made him unable to understand why I couldn't see him. I would normally spend a couple of hours a day with him. As far as I could see when I was able to see him in the garden that he had lost a lot of weight and looked
very stressed but the care he received was amazing.

Just arrived home after two months in hospital and three months at Silversprings and just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone there.
All the staff, the nurses, carers, housekeeping and kitchen were fantastic. Totally focused on my wellbeing, supportive, encouraging with my rehabilitation, in
fact, I don't think I would have progressed as quickly as I did without them. Despite a challenging time with COVID-19 they remained positive, always with a reassuring smile on their face. It was like being part of one big happy family. It's caring with a capital C. They are all a credit to Silversprings.
The food was hotel standard, always a choice and the food was of a high standard. The entertainment was varied and gave us something to look forward to, always raised a smile with me.
The customer relations guy went out of his way to speak to everybody, checking if everything was ok and felt reassured that if there was a problem with anything he would go out of his way to sort.

My great grandfather was only in Silversprings for a very short period. The staff were very caring, kind and looked after him extremely well, everyone made us feel welcome and I would recommend this home to anyone who wanted their loved ones looked after. My sister went to Silver Springs for respite care at very short notice due to urgent work being carried out in her bungalow. When we arrived in a storm and heavy rain, we were greeted by smiling and welcoming staff with umbrellas at the ready! My observations reassured me that every care was given to
her during her stay, she ate well in accordance with her diet requirements and the staff did their utmost to make her as comfortable as possible. My sister was a reluctant resident as she is a very stubborn lady and is determined to remain in her bungalow whatever happens. At times, the staff must have needed extra patience to deal with her, which they gave! I admire them for the demanding work they do.
I would have no hesitation at all in placing my sister permanently in Silver Springs - or again for respite care - should the need arise.

Silversprings was by far the most friendly and welcoming home I visited with my dad. This was his first stay for respite and we were all anxious. He had a great stay and I could enjoy my holiday because I knew he was safe and well looked after. It was like home from home.

I stayed with you for 1 weeks respite whilst my daughter was on holiday. I loved my stay and made lots of new friends. The food was great and my family had some meals with me at the beginning and at the end of my stay. I can't praise the staff highly enough and can't wait to come and stay again.

Everything was arranged quickly and professionally. Within 5 minutes of my line chat, I received a telephone call confirming an appointment to view the home. Assessment arranged for 9am the following Monday and my wife was settled in by about 5pm. All the staff are lovely and very keen to help and chat.
Food is excellent too.

My mother and I come to see my mother's friend. They have been friends for 60+ years. The staff cannot be too helpful and are a delight nothing is too much for them. I cannot comment on the management or the value for money or activities we only come to the facility once a week. The facility is bright,
airy and clean and there isn't a nasty odour which can occur. I would like to think that should I ever need to come into here in the far distant future there would be room for me.

I would not want my wife to be in any other care home. Silversprings is airy and spacious with staff who work very hard to look after my wife. The care staff are mainly very caring, extremely courteous and treat my wife with dignity. Things go wrong from time to time but that is to be expected in such

I was very impressed from the moment I stepped into the reception area, straight away I was struck by a lovely atmosphere, everything and everyone looked so bright and cheerful. All the staff were so welcoming and seemed so caring. I wouldn't want my mum to stay anywhere I wouldn't want to stay myself,
so I will definitely be booking my place there in a few years.

Staff encouraged my sister to socialise, enhancing a sense of belonging.
Staff would share an activity as a 'one to one' for example doing a jigsaw.
My sister always looked clean and well groomed.
I would wheel my sister around the care home and everyone would take time to speak with us.

As a family, we have found Silversprings to be a very welcoming and relaxed space to be. When my mum moved to Silversprings she was welcomed by all the staff and has settled really well. All the staff have been very caring towards mum and this is evident in how quickly she has settled and is very calm!

Our mum went into Silversprings care home in February this year. We have nothing but praise for the way they are caring for her, she is happy now and safe. She has the onset of Alzheimer's so her being in her home with carers, as before, was not an option. Now we have no concerns as she is well cared
for 24/7 and we feel so welcome by all the staff when we visit her there. Thank you Silversprings.

Silversprings was an invaluable half-way convalescence home for my father after a period of hospitalisation. The home provided four weeks of great care, nutritious food and a calm environment. These elements contributed towards my father's speedy recovery enabling him to finally go home and resume a

Joanne Rix

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2020

I first qualified as a nurse back in 1987 and completed further training in 1992. I then worked in both health and social care, working with adults with learning disabilities, and mental health needs, and also as a manager of two other care homes in Suffolk. I joined Silversprings in 2020 after seeing from the Care UK website how beautiful the home is.


I believe it’s important for the home manager to be approachable, caring, and open with both their team, the families, and also and most importantly the residents that live in the home.


My favourite part of my job is knowing that no one day is the same. I love spending time with the residents and also seeing how the staff engage with them, hearing their stories from their youth and their words of wisdom to the younger generation.


Outside of work spending time with my family is my big love, I have three grown-up children, and a beautiful granddaughter who stays regularly. I also enjoy walking my Labrador, Max, in the countryside around my home. A glass of rosé wine is my favourite tipple after a long day.
