My husband has only been at Silversprings for two weeks, so I can't comment on some issues. He has settled well, and the staff are really good with him. He was a photographic journalist, therefore, the staff are producing photos for him to look through. On the whole, so far, I am very happy with the care he is receiving.

My stay at "Silverspring" has been very good with support from all the staff in helping me to recover from the serious back injuries that I suffer from. The food has been excellent with a varied menu and a good supply of different vegetables. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

Silversprings is amazing! It's clear how much the staff genuinely care! It's clean and very professional, yet homely. Every member of staff that my family and I have dealt with have been great! I couldn't recommend Silversprings enough!

My mum is ok. Her safety and well being are my priority, I and the family are very pleased with the home and the care she is having; it is such a weight off our shoulders knowing that. Now that we can now visit her in her room, it is much better, as she is losing her hearing and sight, it makes visiting her better for all of us.

Prior to Covid, I was happy with the overall care, otherwise, we wouldn't have stayed for ten and a half years. After Covid, management seems to have got better, but I cannot form much of an opinion regarding the home itself, unlike when I used to visits almost every day and was moulded with several things.

My aunt has settled very well having been admitted to Silversprings in February 2021. She had benefitted from the interaction with staff and residents and feels safe and cared for. She enjoys the food, particularly the selection of fresh vegetables etc. It is difficult to comment on the activities as these are restricted due to the pandemic but does enjoy what is on offer, particularly the opportunity to sit and chat in the garden when weather permits.

Following a stay in the hospital, Silversprings couldn't have been more helpful in assisting with Mums care and residency in Silversprings. The staff and management have been great; nothing is too much trouble. Mum is settling in well, and it is a great comfort to know she is being cared for so well.

Learning that your loved one has to enter a care home fills you with anxiety, guilt, and an awful feeling of responsibility. Often, the review section is the only source of reassurance. I hope ours will help you with your decision.
Our experience has been brief sadly but enriched by the kindness, compassion and respect that every member of staff showed us. Everyone we came across was kind, had a smile and showed an interest, despite them working through the most challenging of times right now. The accommodation is cosy, clean and comfortable. The grounds are lovely, but it is the staff that makes this care home shine. They are dedicated above and beyond. They researched Dad's likes/dislikes, his needs and 'little ways'. The manager and End of Life friend helped us make important decisions so that we could concentrate on him - they made a difficult time, easier. Our wishes for him were carried out in full. We were listened to.

Thank you for caring for our dad.

Illness and placement for a family member are always difficult, and with Covid it has added so much extra. We genuinely thank the manager and her team for such a welcome and support before, during and even once placed at Silversprings. The communication has been extrememly important as we live a distance away and once seeing the rooms and quality of finish it made it feel right. Most importantly is the high standard level of care which shone through in the commitment and concern for all involved. Please Look at this as a potential Possibilty for short Respite or Longer stay, We truly cannot compliment the manager enough at a difficult time.

Silversprings care home has really helped Mum settle in and make her feel at home. When it was her 100th birthday; they couldn't do enough to help her celebrate it, even making her a lovely cake and a glass of wine. We were allowed to visit her on her big day, all socially distanced. The staff were superb. Mum has adopted them all as part of her family, which in these trying times, is a massive relief for all our family.

Coronavirus - It was a very stressful not being able to see my husband as his dementia made him unable to understand why I couldn't see him. I would normally spend a couple of hours a day with him. As far as I could see when I was able to see him in the garden that he had lost a lot of weight and looked very stressed but the care he received was amazing.

Just arrived home after two months in hospital and three months at Silversprings and just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone there.
All the staff, the nurses, carers, housekeeping and kitchen were fantastic. Totally focused on my wellbeing, supportive, encouraging with my rehabilitation, in fact, I don't think I would have progressed as quickly as I did without them. Despite a challenging time with COVID-19 they remained positive, always with a reassuring smile on their face. It was like being part of one big happy family. It's caring with a capital C. They are all a credit to Silversprings.
The food was hotel standard, always a choice and the food was of a high standard. The entertainment was varied and gave us something to look forward to, always raised a smile with me.
The customer relations guy went out of his way to speak to everybody, checking if everything was ok and felt reassured that if there was a problem with anything he would go out of his way to sort.

Thank you all.

Review from Elaine B (Sister of Resident) published on 1 November 2019 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My sister went to Silver Springs for respite care at very short notice due to urgent work being carried out in her bungalow. When we arrived in a storm and heavy rain, we were greeted by smiling and welcoming staff with umbrellas at the ready! My observations reassured me that every care was given to her during her stay, she ate well in accordance with her diet requirements and the staff did their utmost to make her as comfortable as possible. My sister was a reluctant resident as she is a very stubborn lady and is determined to remain in her bungalow whatever happens. At times, the staff must have needed extra patience to deal with her, which they gave! I admire them for the demanding work they do.

I would have no hesitation at all in placing my sister permanently in Silver Springs - or again for respite care - should the need arise.

Silversprings was by far the most friendly and welcoming home I visited with my dad. This was his first stay for respite and we were all anxious. He had a great stay and I could enjoy my holiday because I knew he was safe and well looked after. It was like home from home.

I stayed with you for 1 weeks respite whilst my daughter was on holiday. I loved my stay and made lots of new friends. The food was great and my family had some meals with me at the beginning and at the end of my stay. I can't praise the staff highly enough and can't wait to come and stay again.

Joanne Rix
Joanne RixJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2020

I first qualified as a nurse back in 1987 and completed further training in 1992. I then worked in both health and social care, working with adults with learning disabilities, and mental health needs, and also as a manager of two other care homes in Suffolk. I joined Silversprings in 2020 after seeing from the Care UK website how beautiful the home is.

I believe it’s important for the home manager to be approachable, caring, and open with both their team, the families, and also and most importantly the residents that live in the home.

My favourite part of my job is knowing that no one day is the same. I love spending time with the residents and also seeing how the staff engage with them, hearing their stories from their youth and their words of wisdom to the younger generation.

Outside of work spending time with my family is my big love, I have three grown-up children, and a beautiful granddaughter who stays regularly. I also enjoy walking my Labrador, Max, in the countryside around my home. A glass of rosé wine is my favourite tipple after a long day.
