A very good place for my parent to be cared for. The staff are lovely and very kind. We get a phone call once a month for her health care check. Mum is constantly reviewed for her needs. If action is needed, it is dealt with.

We always have a good experience too when we visit. If we have any concerns they are generally dealt with as soon as possible.

Thank you very much for your lovely words. We are glad to hear you're happy with the level of care your mum is receiving.

Silversprings Care Home staff have tried hard to help my mother settle into life in a care home. The activities manager Beverley has worked really hard for several months to find out about my mother's interests and encourage her to engage in activities.

It is positive that many of the regular staff have been at the home for many years and work hard to create a happy friendly atmosphere.

Friendly, safe, clean environment for Mum. The staff take time to communicate how Mum is doing and always make me feel welcome when visiting. Mum has come on in leaps and bounds since making Silver Springs her home.

Mum suffers from vascular dementia and sadly after a stay in hospital was discharged into a care home in Colchester. Visiting etc, proved to be very difficult and time-consuming. We are very grateful to the wonderful team at Silversprings, who were able to get Mum moved and settled in closer to home.

The staff go above and beyond not only in the care of Mum but also of Dad, who is now able to visit daily and enjoy spending time with Mum. The home itself is set in beautiful grounds, and Mum especially enjoys the gardens when the weather permits. The building itself is always clean and tidy and has a calming atmosphere, with lots of friendly faces. The food always looks appealing and according to Dad, is of restaurant standard! Birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions are always celebrated, and we and the wider family all enjoy looking at the lovely photos that are put on social media. We are kept well informed by management, and the staff are hardworking, caring and approachable.

My mother has been at the care home now coming up to two years. From the start, they have been in contact with myself or family members about our mum's care. The staff and management are hardworking, caring and friendly and very compassionate and patient with our mother. She has been suffering from vascular dementia now for a few years and is now on end-of-life care. They have been extremely supportive of myself through this difficult period and have showered our mother with empathy, love and dignity. Their dedication, focus and the challenges they face go way beyond a job. I would just like to thank all the staff from the bottom of my heart, and couldn't recommend Silversprings Care Home highly enough.

My godmother has been in Silverspring now for nearly a year, and she loves it there! I am very happy with the care all the staff have given, not only for my godmother but all the residents - they spend individual time with the residents when needed and have lots of entertainment days for those that want to participate. When I speak with her, she always says she is happy there, and they really look after her needs.

I would highly recommend Silversprings to anyone who is looking for a good care home for themselves or a family/friend.

I feel very relaxed and can enjoy my visits to my brother. Not only with staff and management kind and caring attitude, nothing is too much. It feels like one big family. The care he receives is very good. The rooms are light and bright but overall, very clean. Sad to leave my brother, but very happy with the knowledge he is in a happy, safe, caring environment where I know he is happy. Cannot say enough how pleased I am with this care home.

Silver Springs has been nothing but excellent in everything they do for my relative. When she arrived, it was doubtful if she would be with us for weeks, let alone months. But, since arriving, she has been looked after so well that she is virtually at the same level as to when she was living in her own home. I can not express enough how well the staff at Silver Springs have given her a new lease of life through their diligence, care and professionalism in every single aspect of her care. To say "thank you" to them is never enough.

Mum went to Silversprings for emergency respite care after fall. The team were so helpful, getting her moved from the hospital, and at all times, were kind and compassionate. Sadly Mum was only there for 10 days as she was re-admitted to hospital and passed away, so we didn't get the full Silversprings experience, but her short time there showed the staff to be efficient and kind.

Due to a family emergency, I had to arrange two weeks of care at Silversprings for my father. From start to finish, the staff and management were welcoming, friendly and professional. The building is secure and spacious, with lovely, clean rooms overlooking the pleasant grounds. My father has a great stay, talking to residents and staff, participating in daily activities and enjoying the three meals a day, with plenty of drinks and snacks in between.
Nothing was a problem for Silversprings, and they even baled a leaving cake for my father's last day.

I would certainly use Silversprings again, whether it was for an emergency or playing a loved one in permanent care.

Silversprings is a lovely home. Beautiful building with lovely gardens. All staff are hard-working, approachable, cheerful, polite, friendly and caring, creating a lovely atmosphere. Activities are frequent for the residents, and the organiser really puts her heart into it for them. The home is clean and tidy at all times, and if you do have a problem, then staff do all they can to resolve it quickly.

It is a hard, lonely road to go down putting a loved one in a care home, but the staff here have been very supportive of Mum and myself, so thank you for that. Mum has been at Silversprings for six months now and has settled nicely. She is looked after well and never really complains but comments that she is lucky to be there.

Carers and staff looked after Mum so well in her last year. Chef even made meals Mum really enjoyed saying "they were the best she'd ever tasted", helping her put on weight. Activities help keep the mind and body working through simple activities. In her end of life, nothing could be done more to allow her to pass away with dignity and respect, making sure her wishes were carried out on her onward journey. Everyone is a star in our eyes!

MY mum has always been so independent and lived on her own. However, following a deterioration in her physical health, she came to Silversprings for respite care. It is a very hard and difficult transition for any family to suddenly be faced with your loved one going into care but the entire team were so professional, warm and welcoming towards my mum. She said nothing was too much trouble for the team of carers. Her room was clean, bright and airy and looked out onto the lovely spacious grounds. She really rated the food that they served, claiming its good hearty cooking.
This is care a care home that really cares about its residents.
If Mum was content and happy, then that is all you can ask as a family. The team is on call 24 hours.
It gives you peace of mind when she was being so well looked after.

Would certainly recommend this care home.

My husband has been a resident for over a year, and in that time, he has gotten progressively worse. The staff have dealt with his changes with excellent care, physically and mentally. From the manager to all staff, they have looked after not only my husband but also me. And I thank them for their patience and respect towards us. We are so lucky to be under your umbrella. Bless you, all.

In the six weeks, Mother has been here, the care and support have been excellent. I have seen a lot of improvement in Mum, but she will always need 24-hour care. After the 6-weeks respite and assessment, we are hoping that she will be able to stay at the home.

My elderly independent father has lived alone for 22-years since the unexpected passing of his wife and my mother. Following a series and falls and the breakage of a collarbone, he has needed professional care and support to maximise recovery prospects. Fortunately, he is now in the comfortable environment of Silversprings. The first-class care team recognise daily needs, and my father sees response and genuine enthusiasm. All uplifting for him. Changes in health and mobility are challenging and often difficult to keep the right balance of care and the involvement of helpful and thoughtful people makes such a difference. My father positively remains encouraged by those around him.

Joanne Rix
Joanne RixJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2020

I first qualified as a nurse back in 1987 and completed further training in 1992. I then worked in both health and social care, working with adults with learning disabilities, and mental health needs, and also as a manager of two other care homes in Suffolk. I joined Silversprings in 2020 after seeing from the Care UK website how beautiful the home is.

I believe it’s important for the home manager to be approachable, caring, and open with both their team, the families, and also and most importantly the residents that live in the home.

My favourite part of my job is knowing that no one day is the same. I love spending time with the residents and also seeing how the staff engage with them, hearing their stories from their youth and their words of wisdom to the younger generation.

Outside of work spending time with my family is my big love, I have three grown-up children, and a beautiful granddaughter who stays regularly. I also enjoy walking my Labrador, Max, in the countryside around my home. A glass of rosé wine is my favourite tipple after a long day.
