other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

My wife received excellent care from all the staff while she was in your care; it could not have been better. Myself and her family thank you for making her last few days peaceful and would recommend anyone to your care.

Carers and staff looked after Mum so well in her last year. Chef even made meals Mum really enjoyed saying "they were the best she'd ever tasted", helping her put on weight. Activities help keep the mind and body working through simple activities. In her end of life, nothing could be done more to allow
her to pass away with dignity and respect, making sure her wishes were carried out on her onward journey. Everyone is a star in our eyes!

MY mum has always been so independent and lived on her own. However, following a deterioration in her physical health, she came to Silversprings for respite care. It is a very hard and difficult transition for any family to suddenly be faced with your loved one going into care but the entire team were
so professional, warm and welcoming towards my mum. She said nothing was too much trouble for the team of carers. Her room was clean, bright and airy and looked out onto the lovely spacious grounds. She really rated the food that they served, claiming its good hearty cooking.
This is care a care home that really cares about its residents.
If Mum was content and happy, then that is all you can ask as a family. The team is on call 24 hours.
It gives you peace of mind when she was being so well looked after.
Would certainly recommend this care home.

My husband has been a resident for over a year, and in that time, he has gotten progressively worse. The staff have dealt with his changes with excellent care, physically and mentally. From the manager to all staff, they have looked after not only my husband but also me. And I thank them for their

In the six weeks, Mother has been here, the care and support have been excellent. I have seen a lot of improvement in Mum, but she will always need 24-hour care. After the 6-weeks respite and assessment, we are hoping that she will be able to stay at the home.

My elderly independent father has lived alone for 22-years since the unexpected passing of his wife and my mother. Following a series and falls and the breakage of a collarbone, he has needed professional care and support to maximise recovery prospects. Fortunately, he is now in the comfortable environment
of Silversprings. The first-class care team recognise daily needs, and my father sees response and genuine enthusiasm. All uplifting for him. Changes in health and mobility are challenging and often difficult to keep the right balance of care and the involvement of helpful and thoughtful people makes such a difference. My father positively remains encouraged by those around him.

A terminally ill dear friend of mine came to Silversprings after a three weeks stay in the hospital, where I was disappointed with the level of care she was receiving. I advised the manager of my concerns, and every step was taken to ensure her stay was as comfortable and happy as it could be. Every
single member of staff from the cleaning, maintenance workers, receptionist, carers and management team guided both myself and my friend through the process. My friend was able to have a good quality of life, enjoying lunches with friends, participating in quizzes and carol concerts in addition to being humoured by the staff. After my friends passing on 22/12, all staff were incredibly supportive, and I will never ever be able to thank all of them enough.

Well informed when we were looking for a care home. Allowed to look around. Both my daughter and I have been very pleased with the help we have received. My husband appears to have settled well, and I must say, the carers are all very helpful. All in all, a very good start.

Review period after one week Mum in isolations. I cannot speak highly enough of the friendly and professional welcome and subsequent care. Everybody from before admission to daily caring activities has been first class, i.e. management, administration, reception, and especially levels of care staff
who are consistently very friendly, focused, took time to understand Mum (and me) resulting in a marked improvement in Mum already. The Covid practices are thorough/well-practised to safeguard all.

My husband spent only about a week in Silversprings whilst we waited for a care package to be put in place after three weeks in hospital where he was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. The home is beautifully set in lovely gardens, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff are well trained,
kind, compassionate and efficient, and I was very satisfied with the care they gave my husband.

My dear mum lived at Silversprings from June till August 2021. She was terminally ill and spent her last weeks at the home.
I cannot thank and praise the staff enough. The care, friendship and love my mum received was outstanding.
Nothing was too much trouble, for example, the special lunch my sister
and I shared with our mum will never be forgotten.
The nursing care was excellent; the way all the staff talked to and about my mum was as if she was part of their own family, and they went to great lengths to make her as happy and comfortable as possible.
The quality of life at Silversprings is thoughtful, individual and first-rate.
I cannot praise the team enough.

Our mother was here for respite care, and she settled very quickly. The staff were very good, kind and attentive. They looked after her very well. Mum enjoyed the food and was always clean and tidy. One observation would be to keep the person's clothes with the correct person. We noticed that she had
somebody else's clothes on at times. We were very pleased with her care and all of the staff.

Mum was transferred to Silversprings out of hospital for palliative care. The team did a great job for the short time she was there and kept me in the loop with information and updates.


When I visited, they seemed to be taking good care of Mum, and the nurses I spoke to were very compassionate.

Joanne Rix

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2020

I first qualified as a nurse back in 1987 and completed further training in 1992. I then worked in both health and social care, working with adults with learning disabilities, and mental health needs, and also as a manager of two other care homes in Suffolk. I joined Silversprings in 2020 after seeing from the Care UK website how beautiful the home is.


I believe it’s important for the home manager to be approachable, caring, and open with both their team, the families, and also and most importantly the residents that live in the home.


My favourite part of my job is knowing that no one day is the same. I love spending time with the residents and also seeing how the staff engage with them, hearing their stories from their youth and their words of wisdom to the younger generation.


Outside of work spending time with my family is my big love, I have three grown-up children, and a beautiful granddaughter who stays regularly. I also enjoy walking my Labrador, Max, in the countryside around my home. A glass of rosé wine is my favourite tipple after a long day.
