other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

The staff are always courteous and helpful with any problem.
The residents are well cared for and looked after.
The food is tip top with daily different choices for both main course and dessert.
Various types of activities and entertainment throughout the week.
Beautiful grounds and modern comfortable
styling.
Duck pond with recently hatched ducklings in the pond and pet rabbits in the garden.
There are often day trips out to local places of interest to the residents in the minibus.

My father took up residence for end-of-life care. We could not fault the home or the staff. We were there every day for six weeks, and an overnight stay was also facilitated. My father was treated with respect and dignity. The staff were knowledgeable and cared just as much for our welfare. They always
made themselves available to talk us through any questions we had. We were always welcomed and kept immediately updated on my dad's condition. No request was too much. We all felt safe and cared for. We were overwhelmed by the kindness, caring and compassion demonstrated by all. The home was very clean, the food was freshly cooked and nutritious. I could not fault the cleanliness of both the home and the surrounding grounds. They truly made an extremely difficult time for the family easier to bear. Even when my dad passed and left the premises the staff lined the exit route which was most humbling. We experienced first-class treatment and my dad personally received exceptional care.

Very pleased with the level of care, the staff are approachable and friendly. Lots of activities are available for residents and use of the well-maintained and beautiful grounds. Mum enjoys her meals which are nutritious and well presented.

Always welcoming. Family-friendly and encouraged to bring in as many family members as you would have at home.
Lots to do. Lots to see.
Menu good and varied. Off menu choices are available too.
Home clean, warm and Bright. The garden now we can get out there is amazing and well-tended.

Excellent care and attention most of the time.
Staff friendly and welcoming.
Impressed by continuous efforts to make residents occupied if they wished.
Sometimes too much food, but food was very good. I have diabetes 2. For me, breakfast was very late (I am an early bird) and I was able to arrange
to have a much earlier cup of tea, on most days. Manager interacts with residents and always has time to listen to what they have to say. So does the lady responsible for entertainment.

Celebrated Mum's Birthday with an afternoon tea at the home. The tea was superb, with smoked salmon and cheese sandwiches Mum's favourites, scones cheese and fruit and a Victoria sponge birthday cake, all delicious.

My dad moved to Siversprings in January 2024, after a period of poor mobility and ill health. The care he received from the whole team was exemplary. Everyone was cheerful, kind and caring and he enjoyed a chat and a joke with everyone. Sadly, he succumbed to a pre-existing medical condition and died
in February. The care team were kind and supportive of my family and did everything they could to help us at this difficult time. Thank you, everyone at Silversprings for making Dad's last weeks so happy. He couldn't have received better care.

My father has been a resident since May 2023 (respite initially but smoothly transferred to permanent) due to having had multiple falls at home and requiring care after hospital admissions. He was also subsequently diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease, so we recognised that he would need some specialist
dementia care. The manager and customer relations manager have been a wonderful support in listening to what we had been through as a family and then in settling Dad in. They have continued to ensure that he is getting the appropriate care and made adjustments so that he can participate in the many activities they offer. He has been encouraged to move around safely with a walking frame and takes part in seated exercises so has improved his strength, which all contributes to a better quality of life, more than he would have had at home. I do not live close so it is difficult to visit frequently but it gives me great peace of mind to know that he is being looked after so well.

My husband ended his life here after being discharged from hospital for palliative care. He had previously had respite care in September 2023 and had thoroughly enjoyed his “holiday” at Silversprings. The nursing care and attention for both of us was incredible. His time here was however very short
but I am sure it was the relief of feeling so relaxed and cared for that made his final hours so comfortable. It is an incredibly well-managed home led by the home manager and the customer relations manager whose management style inspires those who work for them to care for residents as they would their own family. I will always be thankful that my husband was there for his very peaceful death after a very traumatic hospital stay.

Siversprings was the care home for my aunt, who spent just over 12 months in their care. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and provided a high level of care for my aunt. Whilst she was confined to bed, they made sure she was included in daily life as far as possible and took time out to provide
her with company.
The facilities are very clean and well-maintained, and the staff are caring and considerate.
They made the whole process from viewing to admission as easy as possible.
Regular updates on my aunt's health were received, and they were happy to answer any questions at any time.
I am happy to recommend their services to anybody who requires care home support.

My father was transferred to Silverspring's for end-of-life care. At the time of his arrival, he was worried, frightened, apprehensive, and in a low mood. From the very first day, he was greeted as a loved family member. He was treated with compassion, empathy and respect. The staff went out of their
way to make his final weeks as comfortable and as worry-free as possible. I will forever be grateful to the manager and her team for the care and love that was shown to my father and our entire family at that awful time.

My father-in-law was a resident for 8 months for end-of-life care. In that time he was treated with great care and respect. I was especially touched that one of the maintenance team used to take the time and trouble to drop in for a chat to help keep his spirits up. He didn't have to do that. I was
so impressed by his kindness and the culture of the entire home which encouraged that sort of thoughtfulness.

My dad moved to Silver Springs in July 2023 straight from a hospital admission and to an end-of-life placement, never to return to his bungalow where he had lived for 16 years. Staff were incredibly welcoming and reassuring at a time when he must have felt completely vulnerable, overwhelmed, helpless,
anxious and confused. My sister and I are so grateful for the support we have all received over the last five months as Dad deteriorated and then sadly passed away after Christmas. Staff always made time for us and kept us informed about any changes or concerns they had. The standard of care for Dad was exceptional.
Silver Springs is a friendly and welcoming place, and there are so many activities on offer for residents, along with staff who go out of their way to involve and connect with the residents.
All members of staff, including those on reception, maintenance staff, activities staff, care and nursing staff, and the manager, were friendly, warm and welcoming.

Dad was moved to Silver Springs in July 2023 for nursing care as he had Bowel Cancer. From the moment he arrived, the staff couldn’t do enough for him. He settled in extremely well and received outstanding care right up until he passed away in December.
The staff were also very supportive of my sister
and I. Knowing he was safe and being cared for so well took a massive weight off our minds. We could not be more grateful to the manager and all her wonderful staff.

I'm a man of few words, but the best accolade I could give Silversprings Care Home is if I ever had to be in a home, I would hope it would be at least half as good as this one. It is superb.

Our dad joined the Siversprings family in June 2023 after living in his own home no longer became an option due to his decline in health. This was an emotional time for the family, but thanks to the incredible staff Dad settled in well. The difference in him now is incredible, he’s happy and extremely
well cared for, joins in with games, singing, arts and crafts and so much more, in fact his life is busier than mine! I would never hesitate to recommend Silversprings, it’s so much more than a residential care home (or club as my dad calls it). The staff, from the management down, work so hard to ensure everything runs smoothly, nothing is too much trouble, any queries get answered, any concerns are quickly addressed. I love visiting my dad, everyone is so friendly, it’s like a second home. Well done Silversprings, keep up the good work and thank you.

My husband went into hospital on 15th January. After being put on End-of-life care in the hospital, he was discharged to Silversprings on 16th February.
Unfortunately, he was discharged with an ongoing infection and had to go back to hospital. But then discharged again on 28th February. I was told
that this was palliative care, but instead, he got better. Everyone treated him like a real person. I believe as a general rule care homes need to employ more staff but given that criticism, which is to do with care homes generally and not specifically this particular one, my husband was treated very well, to the extent he has recovered sufficiently to come home. There is no better recommendation!

My mum was in the home for a couple of weeks before passing away. However, during that time, Silversprings looked after her with care and compassion. They also looked after my welfare, along with my wife's. It was difficult for us as we do not live nearby, but we had no concerns about her well-being.
A lovely environment, which I would recommend.

    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 64 registered maximum number of service users is 12.8, which has been reached with 37 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Joanne Rix

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2020

I first qualified as a nurse back in 1987 and completed further training in 1992. I then worked in both health and social care, working with adults with learning disabilities, and mental health needs, and also as a manager of two other care homes in Suffolk. I joined Silversprings in 2020 after seeing from the Care UK website how beautiful the home is.


I believe it’s important for the home manager to be approachable, caring, and open with both their team, the families, and also and most importantly the residents that live in the home.


My favourite part of my job is knowing that no one day is the same. I love spending time with the residents and also seeing how the staff engage with them, hearing their stories from their youth and their words of wisdom to the younger generation.


Outside of work spending time with my family is my big love, I have three grown-up children, and a beautiful granddaughter who stays regularly. I also enjoy walking my Labrador, Max, in the countryside around my home. A glass of rosé wine is my favourite tipple after a long day.
